When everyone was running scared in Obama's last term, then turn around to the thought of Clinton being in charge, gun sales did skyrocket. You can always tell who those people are, they are on sites like Facebook now trying to sell their "survival " toys.

DL - I'm a firm believer in your undoubted (and admirably understated and unassuming) intellectual prowess .. and of course of the innate superiority of the white
and oriental races. What puzzles me is how the shit for brains black folk forced good and kind white and oriental folk such as

    Imperial and Soviet Russia
    Pol Pot
    Mao's cultural revolutionaries
    Imperial Japan
    Nazi Germany
Every fool nationalist that ever dreamed in the former Yogolslavia
The good and united people of Northern Ireland
    Franco's Spain
We mighty sons of empire here in GB
    Mussolini's Italy
    Colonial Belgium

    ad nauseam

    wreak such murder and mayhem
why did we let the evil, manipulative black bastards make us do it ?

I know full well what happened there. I'll be working with a friend from the former Nyasaland tonight and he can tell African
stories from way back that shock even the hard-bitten old salts we work with.

The point I was making was against DL's faux intellectual assertion of some kind of (racial) superiority.
You and I would probably disagree on many things political/economic etc.
That is the way of the world.
There are many posts on here that anger me that and I should probably try and be more sanguine about, again so be it.
DL however - his thinking infuriates me but his smug, pseudo intellectual posturing,
his easy assertion of discredited science - I struggle with it .. I can't quietly accept his "voice of reason" stance

If there is a God then DL has betrayed the brain he was given

Even if there isn't a God, doggo is still a pauper living in squalor. If he was even halfway smart, he wouldn't
be stuck in those conditions. Just iggy the poor bastard. His comments are redundant. And he says them
      over and over again too.

    Let's go back 30 years to 1985.

Guns were not only allowed on school property, they were used inside the schools for marksmanship and safety classes.

Everyone had knives not cheap pocket knives big hunting knives.

You could buy every weapon available today plus fully automatic machine guns (the Hughes Amendment had not yet been passed).

No one got shot or stabbed, so what changed?

Society changed and for the worse.

Young people have no respect for life and no fear of punishment.

Oh and fuck the NRA they have never been a friend of the 2nd Amendment.

I wonder if she'll update viewers later with Dem fundraising amounts.

The Cash-Strapped DNC Is Already Fundraising Off the Parkland Tragedy

DNC chair Tom Perez sent an email to supporters seeking donation for the DNC just a day after the tragic school shooting in South Florida.

    2/15/18

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Tom Perez wasted no time seeking donations for the cash-strapped DNC just a day after the tragic school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida. Perez’s DNC sent a fundraising email to supporters using the shooting as a hook.

“Yesterday afternoon, a 19-year-old with a weapon of war walked into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and opened fire, killing 17 people and injuring many others,” Perez writes in the email. “We have seen this happen too many times. This is not normal. This is not acceptable. This is not inevitable. It’s long past time for our leaders to stop pretending we are helpless in the face of such tragedy.”

    Perez continued:

Each election cycle, the NRA spends tens of millions of dollars to defeat candidates who will stand against their extreme agenda — and as a result, many Republican elected officials owe their election in part to support from the gun lobby. So it’s no surprise why gun violence prevention legislation never makes any progress in Congress.

Enough is enough, Francis. What we’re letting happen right now in America is madness. Our children and our country deserve better.

We deserve a Congress that is willing to take up this debate. We deserve more than thoughts and prayers when these tragedies happen. We deserve leaders who understand the urgent need to take action on this issue.

The email concludes with a P.S. asking supporters to, “tell Congress it’s past time to take action to address our country’s gun violence epidemic.”

Clicking on the link takes recipients of the email to the DNC’s website, where they ask asked to give their name, email address, and zip code before they can be added to the list of people demanding Congress “take action to address our country’s gun violence epidemic.”

Once this information is filled out and submitted, the email recipient is taken to another webpage where they are asked to: “Chip in to help Democrats take on the gun lobby.”

“Thanks for adding your name to demand that Congress take action to make our communities safer from gun violence,” the DNC’s fundraising page reads. “We’re counting on you to help take on the gun lobby and elect Democrats who have the courage to address the epidemic of gun violence. Chip in now.”

While it’s disgusting that Perez would attempt to turn the Parkland tragedy into a fundraising opportunity, it’s not surprising given how much the DNC has struggled to raise money under Perez’s leadership.

What do you expect. The democrats are broke. People are seeing how far down the rabbit hole they have gone.
They have to use things like this to try to get money back flowing to the DNC.
Where would democrats be without something like this?

US Supreme Court rejects challenge to California gun waiting period

[quote]In a blow to gun rights activists, the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday turned away a challenge to California’s 10-day waiting period for firearms purchases that is intended to guard against impulsive violence and suicides.

The court’s action underscored its continued reluctance to step into the national debate over gun control roiled by a series of mass shootings including one at a Florida school last week. One of the court’s most conservative justices, Clarence Thomas, dissented from the decision to reject the case and accused his colleagues of showing contempt toward constitutional protections for gun rights.

The gun rights groups and individual gun owners who challenged the law had argued that it violated their right to keep and bear arms under the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment. The challengers did not seek to invalidate California’s waiting period for everyone, just for people who already owned guns and passed a background check.

In his dissent, Thomas scolded his colleagues. “If a lower court treated another right so cavalierly, I have little doubt this court would intervene,” Thomas wrote. “But as evidenced by our continued inaction in this area, the Second Amendment is a disfavored right in this court.”

The Supreme Court has not taken up a major firearms case since issuing important gun rulings in 2008 and 2010.

The United States has among the most lenient gun control laws in the world. With the U.S. Congress deeply divided over gun control, it has fallen to states and localities to impose firearms restrictions. Democratic-governed California has some of the broadest firearms measures of any state.

A series of mass shootings including one in which a gunman killed 17 people at a Parkland, Florida high school on Feb. 14 have added to the long-simmering U.S. debate over gun control and the availability of firearms.

In another gun case, the high court on Tuesday also declined to take up a National Rifle Association challenge to California’s refusal to lower its fees on firearms sales and instead use a surplus generated by the fees to fund efforts to track down illegal weapons.

Thomas said he suspected that the Supreme Court would readily hear cases involving potentially unconstitutional waiting periods if they involved abortion, racist publications or police traffic stops.

“The right to keep and bear arms is apparently this court’s constitutional orphan. And the lower courts seem to have gotten the message,” Thomas added.

Lead plaintiff Jeff Silvester, the Calguns Foundation and its executive director Brandon Combs, and the Second Amendment Foundation in 2011 challenged the 10-day waiting period between the purchase of a firearm and its actual delivery to the buyer, saying it violated the Second Amendment for individuals who already lawfully own a firearm or are licensed to carry one.

The waiting period gives a gun buyer inclined to use it for an impulsive purpose a “cooling off” period before obtaining it, which has been shown in studies to reduce handgun suicides and homicides, the state said in a legal filing. The waiting period also gives officials time to run background checks and ensure that weapons being sold are not stolen or being purchased for someone prohibited from gun ownership, the state said.

The states of California, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Illinois, Minnesota, Florida, Iowa, Maryland and New Jersey as well as Washington, D.C., have waiting periods that vary in duration and type of firearm, according to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gun control advocacy group.

The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld California’s law in 2016, reversing a federal trial court that had ruled it unconstitutional.

Last year, the Supreme Court left in place a California law that bars permits to carry a concealed gun in public places unless the applicant can show “good cause” for having it.

The best part of these pro gun control idiots ranting about something that has been upheld by the supreme court time and time again is that gun sales increase.

Americans from all walks of life start stockpiling ammo and buying guns some for the first time. I'm proud to say only 3 places have more ammo than I do and that's the governments of USA, China and Russia.

    Wayne LaPierre blames:
    1) the failure of school security
    2) the failure of family
    3) the failure of mental health institutions
    4) the failure of the FBI
    But also:
    5) the Media
    6) the Democrats
    7) the "European Socialists"
    and comes with this solution:
"It only takes a good man with a gun to stop a bad man with a gun"
    Screenshot_2018-02-23-15-23-22.png

I wonder how a man of Lapierre's age can assert something as stupid as this ridiculous statement on television and not be embarassed.

Was there nobody else at the Republican Party to lead the National Riffle Association? If I knew nothing of the NRA and I heard Wayne Lepierre for the first time, I could easily think he talks to handicapped children. But no, he talks to shareholders and gun owners and mourning families on television.

Security failure? Supermarkets, hospitals, church halls, casinos... Are they all failing?

How can Lapierre totally ignore the self-evidence that without guns, you can't commit a mass murder, if not because he is blinded by old prejudices and self-interest?

Like a kid, this gentleman runs away from his responsability. And this is a very poor show when so many people grieve their children. Everyone but him is to blame and the Democrats in particular. The "European Socialists", whoever they may be in Little Wayne's childish dreams.

But who's been running the Congress over the past few years? Who runs Florida? Who paid a fortune to have Donald Trump at the White House?

There is one thing that tragically failed about Wayne Lapierre: his education.

If he had been educated as a Free Citizen of the United States, Wayne Lapierre would behave like a man. Not like a muppet.

It's time for the little american Cowboys to put down their Rubber Tommy Waterguns.

The NRA is showing a greatly immature nation to the world.

Everyone knows there is no need for a good man with a gun to stop a bad man with a gun.
There is already a sign saying this is a gun free zone. That should do the job.

Nobody else in the world has mass shootings. This an American thing.

Nobody else in the world think teachers should have guns.

Nobody else in the world can buy a gun as easily as in the United-States.

Wayno would actually be well inspired to listen to the Media, the Democrats and the European Socialists because HE is probably wrong.

    Maybe another sign would work.
How about one that says, All Crooks Immediately Turn In Your Guns Here.
Should work great. Then criminals would no longer have guns.
