I've always wondered why gun enthusiasts declare a gun opponent has "lost" and argument when a firearm is mislabeled. The gun enthusiast knows the AR-15 and the M-16 are basically the same rifle. No one disputes whether an M-16 is and assault rifle and the AR-15 is the same thing, but without automatic fire. It's as if you can be assaulted by one and the other is harmless.

I wish I had the option to buy the AR-15 in a 308 caliber, but my supplier only had the 5.62 at the time.

How many of you experts have actually fired an AR-15 (very slight modifications of which make it an M16A2, A3 or A4)? If you have you know that it is a VERY efficient killing machine - lightweight, accurate out to 3oo meters, with a penetrative round that does TONS of internal damage because of its size and makeup. It is not difficult to amend an AR-15 to fully automatic, although illegal to do so, I doubt a police department in the nation would be willing to go house to house to examine every AR-15 in the legal possession of citizens, so the only way you get to find out about such an amendment is when it is used. Beside that, you can buy a bump-firing amendment that simulates auto-fire that is completely legal.

But, as my firing line drill instructors would say, you only need full auto when you want to piss off Uncle Sam, otherwise, one shot, one kill!
