Lisa, my viewpoint if it has any value: I think that on the forum there are many groups of close friends, and I have never seen them exclude anyone who greets them, even if not one of the close groupe. Sort of like a Kaffee Klatch with RP. I don't get to interact with a lot of the people I would like to because of my sleep schedule which really to be crude FUCKS THINGS UP.

I think that on the whole, most of us have a few really close friends who would fight to death (figuratively) for us and others not quite that close who still dearly like us, then others who are more or less just friends you speak to occasionally.

In my case, if I see someone who is doing nothing but nasty and mean posts, they go on my ignore list and I don't have to see anything they write anymore. Some of the ones I put there originally have been banned due to their hate posts. I try to be friendly and helpful to everyone, and occasionally my sarcasm and wit? gets the better of me and I accidentally offend someone. Well shit happens, I try to make it up to them with an apology.

 

Well said. I think some of us are just like molecules in jar of air, bouncing off each other at random. That's how I feel about myself...I'm not hear to make enemies, but I'm also not hear to be lifelong friends with anyone. I'm just here to interact. Hopefully in a good way.

i just found it interesting how some people view themselves as "not part of the group", when infact they are on just as often (if not more). when i think of the word "clique" on here, you're the first username that comes to my mind. you, RP, piggit, baller, shake, stumbler, the regular posters, that contribute a lot, and been here for a year. lately though, it seems as if you keep trying to say that you just "dabble" around, and are now accusing some people of "living full lives on here". you're one of the main people i see on every thread, that is here everyday, just like the rest of us. just because you don't consider yourself a part of any "clique" on here, doesn't mean that you don't fit into one. it's natural to view people a certain way, the same as picturing people as their avatar. you might not want to look like a sex goddess in high heels to people, but it doesn't mean that people don't see you as that, especially with some of the sexy posts you've made, that were very enjoyable. that was my point. i found it very interesting how you thought you weren't part of any clique, and made a comment about this being other people's only way of socializing. and no, i didnt flat out post your name because i was making a general statement. you're obviously not the only person that thinks like that. i hope this made sense, and you might want to stay an outsider, but i would definately say that you fit into the "majority" that i explained in my other post. the only "minority" on this forum are the people that only post to knock people down. not the ones that actually conversate and contribute to this forum. the people that make you think, "don't you have anything better to do? if you don't like it here, then go away!"

 

The whole "sex goddess" thing is a persona, my doppelganger if you will, and I think most people are aware of that. I'm really not close to anyone here in a true sense, although there are certainly people I interact with more than others, and who know more about me. But there are limits, and nobody ever gets too close.

That's why I made the distinction I did. For some people, this is a place for social interaction that spills over heavily into real life. I don't put them down for that, it's just not what I do. I'm sorry if you felt I was criticizing you. But I can understand why people feel there are cliques. When I see threads that have 5,000 posts on them, and I haven't posted even one of them, I get the feeling that there are people here who are pretty tight with one another.

I would consider the cliques here to be the groups of people that always say something nice to, encourage, side with, and rush to the aid of others within the circle regardless of whether they deserve it or not.

Obviously there are those here; it doesn’t bother me, many people form that type of support structure in real life also. It isn't my cup of tea though.

By what I am calling a clique, despite Kimi being pretty well liked by most of the people here (read: she is a dirty, dirty slut ) I wouldn’t say she is part of a clique.

I don't consider myself to be in any clique and it doesn't bother me that some are closer than others. They've taken the time to develop their relationships. I try to get along with everyone, but I actually prefer one-on-one interaction in my den.

If I might add something on the Kimiko=sex goddess comment. That's not your fault. Its mine and a few hundred others that keep trying to elevate Kimiko to goddess status when all you do is try to be yourself.

The other thing I'd point out is it is apparently quite natural for some humans to join a group and then form sub-groups within that group. What I have never been able to understand is why that always leads to friction and someone getting their feelings hurt.

But then I didn't come here to make friends. I came here to fear not a fuck around a lot. It seems to work for me most of the time.
