Trump has been incapacitated since he took office. A stay in hospital won't change that.

It's fitting that Trump enjoys privileges denied to you and me, as far as taxes go. Neither of us could hope to offset our taxable income by deducting payments to women we want to remain silent. I'm sure hiring my daughter as a salaried employee and then paying her to be a consultant would raise red flags, but we're not billionaires whose tax returns are so complicated that only 100 people in the nation can understand them.

I wonder how many of those 100 were working for Trump when the returns were filed.

Crippling the IRS has been a goal of conservative for many decades. One used to see bumper stickers that read "Abolish the IRS", which is the neocon equivalent of "Defund the Police ". Nobody thinks it's going to happen.

As with all things Trump, he fucks over those who trust him. Since only a hundred people in the country can understand Trump's returns, the thousands of IRS auditors will concentrate on middle income tax payers, whose simple returns offer a better return on the audit dollar.

How any middle income tax payer ever got the idea Trump would benefit them, is anyone's guess. The middle income people who worked at any of Trump's businesses never did.

The funniest thing to come out today is,

"Don Jr. has said he wants to stage an intervention, but Jared and Ivanka keep telling Trump how great he's doing," one source tells Sherman. "Don said, 'I'm not going to be the only one to tell him he's acting crazy.'

It wouldn't be the first time something like this happened, where the Crown Prince tries to drag his Dad off the throne a little ahead of schedule.

Trump looks to be in an ‘altered mental state’ from COVID-19 and his cabinet needs to step in: Morning Joe

After viewing clips of Donald Trump since he was released from Walter Reed Medical Center, MSNBC co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski cautioned White House officials and Republican lawmakers they need to step in because the president is unable to think straight due to his COVID-19 infection and the medications he is on.

According to the host Scarborough, it is likely that the president’s judgment is impaired and, therefore, he is putting the country in danger.

With co-host Willie Geist noting the president is on a drug that has been “linked to rare reports of grandiose delusions, psychosis, delirium and hallucinations,” Scarborough jumped in.

“Only 32 percent of the patients with altered mental functions from COVID were able to do basic functions,” he explained. “That’s like our friend, even after COVID, was wandering around the neighborhood for weeks in an altered state and even a good friend of mine had a 19-year-old son who got COVID and was so out of it that he couldn’t remember what happened five minutes before. He would have dinner brought up to his room, he’d eat the dinner and call downstairs, ‘when are you going to send the dinner?’ This was like this for two or three weeks.”

“We’ve all seen this in people with COVID,” he continued. “And if the president was in an altered mental state right now, that would not be unusual. That would actually be typical.”

“And that would be something that I believe the cabinet and members of Congress might want to consider that, if he’s in an altered mental state, that he perhaps isn’t the best person for the job right now, if you know what I mean,” co-host Brzezinski added.

Yale psychiatrist says Trump’s behavior meets the criteria for him to be locked in a psychiatric facility

President Donald Trump’s maskless return to the White House on Monday following a weekend at Walter Reed Medical Center shows that he wants his supporters to “prove their loyalty to him with their lives,” Yale psychiatrist Bandy X. Lee said in an interview with Salon.

Trump, who is still infected with the novel coronavirus, took off his mask on the Truman balcony and saluted Marine One before entering the White House and possibly exposing a photographer and others around him. Trump suggested in a video that he may now be “immune” from the virus, even as his doctor warned that the president was “not be entirely out of the woods yet.”

“One thing that’s for certain: Don’t let it dominate you,” Trump said of the virus. “Don’t be afraid of it.”

Lee told Salon after the viral photo-op that it “would not be an exaggeration” to say that Trump “delights in putting people in danger.”

“Sociopathy is dangerous, in part because out of envy of other human beings for having human characteristics, it actively desires people to suffer and die,” she said.

Lee, a forensic psychiatrist at Yale School of Medicine who also taught at Yale Law School, is the author of the textbook “Violence” has worked on public health approaches to violence prevention for decades. She also edited the book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President” and serves as president of the World Mental Health Coalition, which plans to release a video statement by “100 mental health experts” arguing that Trump should be removed from office and the 2020 ballot, because he is dangerous and unfit. Lee also plans to publish a “Profile of the Nation” on her website, which aims to provide a “full psychological profile of Donald Trump in the context of his followers and the nation.”

Trump’s behavior is not unlike the thousands of people Lee has treated in her career, she told Salon.

“Mental health professionals look at patterns, as human behavior is not random. This is why society charges us with preventing dangers to self and others before they happen, unlike law enforcement, which must wait until after things happen,” she said. “We are far more familiar with these situations, too. In my 20-year career of working with prisoners and violent offenders to help contain their behavior or to prevent their becoming violent in the first place, I probably treated a thousand individuals with [Trump’s] exact characteristics. So far, he has not deviated even the slightest from how I expected he would behave in a position of greater power than he can handle.”

Lee spoke to Salon about Trump’s maskless antics, the president’s many enablers and how his followers may respond to the events of the past week:

Salon: What was your reaction to Trump’s returning to the White House maskless and putting staffers in danger after receiving numerous treatments with varying side effects?

Lee: Sociopathy is dangerous, in part because out of envy of other human beings for having human characteristics, it actively desires people to suffer and die. I believe it is not an exaggeration to say that Donald Trump delights in putting people in danger for multiple reasons. When he forces his followers into crowded indoor rallies without masks, for example, he is demanding they prove their loyalty to him with their lives. This is why I once compared his commands to those made to gang members and child soldiers — the circumstances are different, but the psychology is the same.

Were you surprised by how Trump’s medical doctors dodged and obfuscated, as well as made false claims about the president’s health amid his hospitalization?

Not at all, and I am still not ruling out malingering, or feigning illness. When deciphering these things, we look for medical inconsistencies, secondary gain and psychological disposition. There are already too many inconsistencies in the medical picture, and look at the enormous secondary gain. We know that he needed something to reset his campaign, with everything going badly for him and his debate performance being unable to reverse the polls — and he was instantly able to stifle most criticism. We also know that he would manipulate any situation, and that we are vulnerable.

I had doubts about Dr. Sean Conley ever since he announced in February 2019 that the president was in “very good health” after an examination by “11 different board-certified specialists.” Why would you need so many specialists for a simple annual exam, and what about the obvious need for a psychiatrist? There is no health without mental health. Hence, when he came out of Walter Reed with an army of physicians, it appeared to me as overcompensation for a lack elsewhere.

The question of greatest relevance to the public is whether or not the president is fit to serve, which White House-employed doctors who are military subordinates to the commander-in-chief are not eligible to answer. A team of independent, peer-reviewed mental health experts needs to examine him for mental fitness, which is not difficult to do. We, ourselves, were able to do it in a very rigorous and standardized way, within a few days of having the information in the special counsel’s report.

Dr. Conley himself said he was adhering to HIPAA guidelines, and thus made clear he is treating the president as a private patient. But even HIPAA laws are supposed to be broken where the safety of self or others is concerned, and a doctor could be held legally liable for not placing safety first.

We already have the travesty of Dr. Ronny Jackson using a 10-minute cognitive screen, which research studies showed even full-blown Alzheimer patients score 30 out of 30 on, to declare the president mentally “fit,” as he did at a press conference in early 2018. All was show, since he had no independence and no mental health training to be able to do so. The public should demand better than this level of deception.

What does it tell you about the White House that it is refusing to contact trace its Supreme Court event, even though Trump’s own aides, advisers and allies are the ones who were exposed?

This is all in line with the bigger picture. Above all, the president needs to receive proper care, and from his behavior alone, he meets criteria for a locked psychiatric facility. Past violence often leads to future violence, and we now have a person who has committed mass killings, recklessly endangering life, if not engaging in negligent homicide. [Editor’s note: Lee was referring to Trump’s negligence related to the coronavirus, which has killed more than 200,000 people in the U.S.].

Rhetoric and demonstrations of behavior coming out of a powerful figure, furthermore, translate into widespread imitation and deadly results for the population. Dangerousness assessments do not require a personal examination, and all physicians and mental health professionals are supposed to err on the side of safety. There is no “OLC memo” or exemption in mental health law for a president, even if that is how the American Psychiatric Association tried to misapply “the Goldwater rule.” We are bound by our professional responsibility to society by the Geneva Declaration and the core tenets of medical ethics, which are part of the law.

How do you see this playing out in the near future? Trump is already claiming he beat the virus and might be “immune.”

It fits with his entire plan to show that the virus is no big deal, and we can ignore it — basically to have us adopt his fantasy world view. In real life, this will make the pandemic grow even more uncontrollable and kill many more people, but this is the side effect of his inability to fight the virus and his need to fight reality instead. This is how pathology is different from rational thinking — and how it combines with a criminal mind to make it even more destructive.

A pathological drive may seem expedient in the political realm, but I have compared it to a car without brakes. Such a car may be able to get ahead in ways in which no other fully functioning car can, and perhaps even more so with an evil driver in it. But at the bottom of the hill, it always crashes. This is why it is important to stop the malfunctioning car as early as possible, through whatever means, even now. We do not have to crash.

Do you think watching the president impacted by the virus he spent months trying to downplay will change his supporters’ views of him — or the virus itself?

Yes, but not in any productive way. His emerging from it so quickly — never mind that he gets daily tests and the best possible, proactive treatment — spectacularly solidifies the view that the severe public health measures, which he himself made necessary, were overblown. For those who experienced great loss form the virus, he will appear superhuman.

What people need to understand about many of his followers is that in their need for a parental figure who will take care of them, his position alone justifies whatever he does, and any exposure of his fraudulence and criminality will be experienced as an existential threat to them, which is why it only activates defensive denial, disavowal and protection of their “protector.”

Violence, paranoia and delusions are also particularly contagious, and so having someone with these symptoms in an influential position is almost a setup for propagation of these traits — what I have been calling “shared psychosis” but which others have also called “folie à millions,” or madness by the millions. This contagion of symptoms dissipates when exposure to the primary person is reduced. We already saw this happen when he was temporarily unable to hold rallies at the onset of the pandemic.

This is one of the psychological reasons why Donald Trump cannot leave the presidency — quite apart from the possibility of prosecution. It is also why we have said that his removal from the presidency and candidacy is of critical importance, as we have outlined since last March in our “Prescription for Survival.” Even if this were not achievable, taking steps in that direction will greatly diminish his psychological influence. One of the purposes of my writing a “Profile of the Nation” was to nudge our country out of its compartmentalized, either-or thinking, which is preventing us from seeing the full picture and from coordinating to remove this unfit presidency and candidacy.

Experts: ‘Rageful’ Trump’s ‘inability to distinguish fact from fiction’ make him ‘unsuitable to be in command of the nuclear arsenal’

We continue the series, “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump Revisited: Mental Health Experts on the Devastating Mishandling of a Pandemic.” Whereas we could not have predicted a pandemic three-and-a-half years ago, the authors of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President anticipated how the president would respond, should there be a crisis. We tried to warn the public of the very consequences that are unfolding today: abuse of power, incompetence, loss of lives and livelihoods of many Americans, and an existential threat to human civilization itself.

Drs. Nanette Gartrell and Dee Mosbacher were among the first to open a national conversation about this problem, joining Dr. Judith Herman in writing a letter to then-President Barack Obama about the then-president-elect’s need for a thorough neuropsychiatric evaluation. The actions they took to make the letter known are how the authors of The Dangerous Case came together, and how thousands of mental health professionals would follow from around the world.

Briefly, Dr. Gartrell is a psychiatrist, researcher, and writer who was formerly on the faculties of Harvard Medical School and the University of California, San Francisco. Her half-century of groundbreaking scientific investigations have contributed greatly to our understanding of sexual minority parent families, and have brought her numerous awards, including a recent Alexandra Symonds Award for her outstanding contributions to the advancement of women.

Dr. Mosbacher is a psychiatrist and Academy Award–nominated documentary filmmaker who was formerly on the faculty of the University of California, San Francisco. As a public-sector psychiatrist, she served as San Mateo County’s medical director for mental health and as senior psychiatrist at San Francisco’s Progress Foundation. Her films are also contained within the Smithsonian National Museum of American History collection.

Together, they authored the essay, “He’s Got the World in His Hands and His Finger on the Trigger” for The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, outlining how a medical advisory body for the 25th Amendment should form.

Lee: The 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution addresses presidential disability and succession, and your recommendations, almost four years ago, for a body to be set up in its context seem remarkably prescient now. The president’s recent erratic behavior seems to have driven even Speaker Nancy Pelosi into introducing new legislation. She stated that the legislation would create a “Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and Duties of Office” that includes outside experts tasked with evaluating his mental and physical health. Would you remind us of the recommendations you yourselves gave?

Gartrell: Under Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, Congress may constitute an independent, nonpartisan panel of mental health and medical experts to evaluate Donald Trump’s capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the presidency. We have recommended that the panel should consist of three neuropsychiatrists (one clinical, one academic, and one military), one clinical psychologist, one neurologist, and two internists. Our model states that the panel should be based on medical criteria, and appointed by an agency such as the nonpartisan, nongovernmental National Academy of Medicine nominating panelists, who may serve six-year terms.

Mosbacher: We stated that Congress should enact legislation to authorize this panel to perform comprehensive mental health and medical evaluations of the president and vice president on an annual basis. Also, the legislation should require the panel to evaluate all future presidential and vice-presidential candidates, and should be empowered to conduct emergency evaluations should there be an acute change in the mental or physical health of the president or vice president.

This is without doubt one of the greatest needs of our time. Yet it appears that the proposed commission will not form before 2024, and it may even die in the process if there is no presidential signature to allow it to become law. This seems a lesson not to wait until matters become very dire. What are your thoughts now?

Mosbacher: Speaker Pelosi stated that the legislation applies to future presidents, but Donald Trump’s behavior reminds us of the importance of the president’s mental fitness in a nuclear age. We call on our elected officials to heed the warnings of thousands of mental health professionals who have requested an independent, impartial neuropsychiatric evaluation of Donald Trump. The world as we know it could still cease to exist with a 3:00 a.m. nuclear tweet.

Gartrell: Throughout U.S. history, presidents have suffered from serious psychiatric or medical conditions, most of which were unknown to the public. For example, Presidents Pierce and Lincoln had symptoms of depression. Nixon and Johnson, paranoia. Reagan, dementia. And President Wilson experienced a massive stroke that resulted in severely impaired cognitive functioning. Although military personnel who are responsible for relaying nuclear orders must undergo rigorous mental health and medical evaluations that assess psychological, financial, and medical fitness for duty, there is no such requirement for the Commander in Chief.

With Dr. Herman, you—a team of three brave women—became the inspiration for our book, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, when you came forth with the first substantial public warning, which was pioneering for our profession. Would you describe what you did to get there?

Gartrell: Over the course of the U.S. 2016 presidential campaign, it became increasingly apparent that Donald Trump’s inability or unwillingness to distinguish fact from fiction, wanton disregard for the rule of law, intolerance of perspectives different from his own, rageful responses to criticism, lack of impulse control, and sweeping condemnations of entire populations rendered him temperamentally unsuitable to be in command of the nuclear arsenal. When he became the president-elect, we, as psychiatrists, had grave concerns about his mental stability and fitness for office. In November 2016, we received a call from our psychiatrist friend and colleague Dr. Judith Herman, who shared our concerns about Mr. Trump’s grandiose, belligerent, and unpredictable behavior. She proposed that we send a private letter to President Obama outlining our observations, and recommending an impartial psychiatric evaluation of the president-elect.

We agreed that such an assessment was warranted as a matter of national security. Dr. Herman offered to draft the letter. At the end of November, the letter was sent to President Obama, stating that Mr. Trump’s “widely reported symptoms of mental instability—including grandiosity, impulsivity, hypersensitivity to slights or criticism, and an apparent inability to distinguish fantasy from reality—lead us to question his fitness for the immense responsibilities of the office.” We also strongly recommended that the president-elect receive a “full medical and neuropsychiatric evaluation by an impartial team of investigators.” We heard nothing from the White House.

Mosbacher: In December 2016, a journalist contacted us, and we decided that we were willing to take the step of sharing our letter, in the interest of placing our recommendation in the public discourse. This led to the letter being published in the Huffington Post and going viral. We declined all requests for further comment, since most journalists wanted us to specify psychiatric diagnoses for the president-elect, even though we had not personally evaluated him. Instead, Gloria Steinem posted the article on her Facebook page, and contacted Dr. Herman to brainstorm about who in the government could implement our recommendation. Robin Morgan suggested that we convey our letter to Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and reminded us of the series of events that transpired during the final days of the Nixon administration. Because President Nixon was drinking heavily and threatening war, the secretary of defense, James Schlesinger, instructed the military not to act on orders from the White House to deploy nuclear weapons unless authorized by Schlesinger or the secretary of state, Henry Kissinger.

In January 2017, we sent our letter to Chairman Dunford, with the subject line: “An urgent matter of national security.” A week later, Dr. Gartrell met a woman who worked in government intelligence. Dr. Gartrell inquired if she would be willing to convey our recommendation to other professionals at the agency. The woman agreed to distribute our letter among key individuals who shared our views about Mr. Trump’s mental instability. As Inauguration Day grew closer, Dr. Gartrell, Dr. Mosbacher, Dr. Herman, Gloria Steinem, and Robin Morgan decided to send our letter to members of Congress whom we know personally or to whom we had access. We also agreed to publicize our recommendation whenever there was an opportunity. Our message was that, all in all, Mr. Trump’s hostile, impulsive, provocative, suspicious, and erratic conduct poses a grave threat to our national security.

If they had listened to you, we may not be where we are today, the most dangerous point of this presidency. It is frightening to observe his potential for apocalyptic self-destructiveness, as his fragile ego is injured, and he is filled with rage at the prospect of people falling away from him and his power diminishing. Do you have any thoughts on how our profession can help the public meet this moment?

Gartrell: One of the greatest travesties with regard to the mental health emergency that has descended upon our nation is the stifling of expert voices. Mental health professionals can alert to the need for all future presidential and vice-presidential candidates to have fitness-for-duty evaluations before they take office, just as military personnel do.

Mosbacher: When a historic movement of mental health professionals had garnered the attention of the public so as to become the number one topic of national conversation, the American Psychiatric Association extinguished the discussion rather than supported it. When independent professionals and journalists are silenced, it is usually a first sign of tyranny. We must still speak the truth to protect people everywhere.

Viewers stunned as Trump unleashes ‘objectively insane’ rants at latest rally: The steroids ‘turned his brain into pudding’

President Donald Trump held a campaign rally in North Carolina on Thursday, and many people were shocked by his remarks.

During one point in his speech, Trump appeared to suggest that federal marshals intentionally killed an antifa supporter accused of shooting a conservative protester to death in Portland, Oregon.

“We sent in the U.S. Marshals, took 15 minutes and it was over,” Trump said. “They knew who he was, they didn’t want to arrest him, and 15 minutes — that ended.”

Summing up the rally, Susan J. Demas, the editor-in-chief of Michigan Advance, said: “Trump bragged about a extrajudicial killing on American soil and whipped up a crowd against the press as the ‘enemy of the people’ again, and neither will be a big story, in part, because we live in denial about how bad some things really are.”

The president also claimed his upcoming town hall event on NBC News was a “setup” and suggested that God had rescued him from his COVID-19 infection.

In a couple weeks we'll hold an election.

If President Trump wins reelection we'll be subjected to four more years of butthurt despicable whining and lies.

If Biden wins we'll get to return the favor and lie and propagandize about Biden until he steps/is forced aside, then we'll get to nail Harris.
