Sunday morning, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) broke ranks with multiple colleagues in the Senate who are proposing to hold up the certification of President-elect Joe Biden's win over Donald Trump -- and that has fans of the president hopping mad.

In a series of tweets, the ardent defender of Donald Trump wrote, "Proposing a commission at this late date – * which has zero chance of becoming reality – is not effectively fighting for President Trump. It appears to be more of a political dodge than an effective remedy," before adding, "My colleagues will have the opportunity to make this case, and I will listen closely. But they have a high bar to clear."

Graham immediately felt the wrath of Trump's supporters who accused him of being a fraud" ...and worse.

*Graham is actually just playing it smart here. There's no way to stop Biden from becoming president. And once out of office Trump is going to face multiple investigations and most likely criminal charges. So Trump will crash and burn leaving all those other Republicans with seditious TRAITORS branded on the foreheads.

Georgia Elections Board Member Demands Probe Into Trump’s Phone Call

Will President Donald Trump’s now-notorious call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger prove to be his undoing? The sole Democrat on Georgia’s state election board has reportedly urged Raffensperger to investigate possible civil and criminal violations committed by Trump during the call in which Trump ordered Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to reverse his defeat in the state. David Worley told The Washington Post that the call gave “probable cause” to believe that Trump broke Georgia’s election code, adding: “It’s a crime to solicit election fraud, and asking the secretary to change the votes is a textbook definition of election fraud.” Worley cited a specific law that makes it a crime to solicit someone else to commit election fraud in Georgia—and, according to the Post, that can be punished by as much as three years in prison.

Writing in The Atlantic this Tuesday, Peter Nicholas says that as the days go on in January, President Donald Trump is running out of options to fulfill his "authoritarian dreams."

While Trump and his most loyal supporters are carrying on their effort to overturn the 2020 election, Nicholas says there's a different vibe circulating inside the White House -- a vibe emanating from people who know for the most part that Joe Biden will be inaugurated on January 20.

"I don't know of anybody in the building who thinks there will be anything but a Biden inauguration on January 20, and quite frankly, I think that includes Trump on most days," a former Trump aide told Nicholas on condition of anonymity.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) agrees.

"He knows he lost," Kinzinger told Nicholas, speaking of Trump. "He may buy the conspiracy theories that he reads on Twitter, but at the end of the day, he knows he lost. He realizes that for the next 10 years of his life, he'll have to answer for this, and he wants to be able to say it was stolen. It's all about him and his pride right now."

Another person speaking to Nicholas who's familiar with Trump said that in private, Trump talks about his post-presidency plans despite his public persona that suggests he plans to be sticking around for another four years.

There's been speculation about a possible Trump run in 2024, but the CEO of the conservative news outlet Newsmax told Nicholas that's unlikely as well.

"I think he's going to like being a former president," Chris Ruddy said. "You have a lot of influence."

Now this is kind of strange. Not that I believe "Bloody Bill Bill Kristol's predictions after he helped take us to war with Iraq on a pack of lies but he had a really strange column yesterday where he said VP Pence would resign rather than have to certify Biden's win as the Constitution and federal laws require him to do. I thought he was just full of shit like he usually is and this story broke.

The vice president is duty-bound to preside over Wednesday's certification process, as outlined in the Twelfth Amendment and clarified by the Electoral Count Act, but he will instead hand over those duties to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), reported Roll Call.

"Iowa Sen. Charles E. Grassley, the Senate president pro tempore, says he and not Vice President Mike Pence will preside over the certification of Electoral College votes, since 'we don't expect him to be there,'" Roll Call reported.

President Donald Trump has publicly pressured Pence to reject Biden slates of electors from some states in favor of alternate slates of GOP electors, who have no legal force behind their support for Trump's re-election.

Grassley said that he would hear debate opened up by challenges from Republican representatives and senators, and signaled he would act as Trump has asked the vice president to do.

"It would be really wrong for me to say I have my mind made up," Grassley told Roll Call.

A spokesman for Grassley later said the 87-year-old senator did not "have any indication Pence won't be present," and instead meant that he would fill the vice president's chair if he failed to show up or steps out of the Senate for a break.

A Fox News congressional reporter added that Pence is expected to preside over the certification process, but might step away at some point.

Chad Pergram tweeted: "Fox is told, that officials here at the Capitol are expecting Vice President Mike Pence to arrive at the Capitol and fulfill his duties presiding over the Joint Session of Congress to certify the electoral votes. But…It was intimated to Fox…that Pence MAY not stay the entire time…especially if these sessions go deep into the night. Remember, the House and Senate break off from the Joint Session and individually debate the electoral votes if there is a challenge to an individual state."

Grassley's office later sent out a statement confirming the accuracy of Roll Call's quoted remark, but claiming that it had been misinterpreted.

I haven't heard the outcome yet but according to reports Trump had Pence at the WH for lunch today and it was a very long meeting. But since Pence is bound both by the Constitution and federal law he can't grant Trump's wish this time so I expect fireworks and Pence will be the next deep state Never Trumper.

I just read another story that it must not have gone well at the WH because Pence and his allies are now fearing Trump will try to destroy Pence's political career.

There are multiple reports the problem is Trump is too stupid and ignorant to understand the process and can't get it through his head Pence's roll is simply ceremonial.

Trump lawyer Sidney Powell slapped with $1.3 billion defamation suit over voting lies

According to a report from the Washington Post, pro-Trump attorney * Sidney Powell has been hit with a $1.3 billion lawsuit for lying about Dominion Voting Systems.

Papers were filed early Friday morning by the voting machine firm alleging that the attorney -- who was representing outgoing President Donald Trump at the time -- indulged in "wild" and "demonstrably false" claims that the company participated in stealing the election from the president.

According to the Post, "In a 124-page complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Dominion said its reputation and resale value have been deeply damaged by a 'viral disinformation campaign' that Powell mounted 'to financially enrich herself, to raise her public profile, and to ingratiate herself to Donald Trump.' The defendants named in the lawsuit include Powell, her law firm and Defending the Republic, the organization she set up to solicit donations to support her election-related litigation."

The post goes on to note that none of Powel's claims were taken seriously by the courts and that the attorney had been dismissed from the president's legal team after making a series of unfounded allegations.
