The other issue was Floyd's 2019 arrest, just a year before his fatal encounter with Chauvin.

Cahill also previously denied the defense's attempt to allow the year-old arrest at trial. But he heard fresh arguments this week because of drugs found in January in a second search of the police SUV in which the four officers attempted to put Floyd in 2020.

This May 31, 2020, file photo provided by the Hennepin County Sheriff shows former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin, who was arrested for the May 25 death of George Floyd. (Hennepin County Sheriff via AP)

Nelson also argued that similarities between the encounters are relevant, with Floyd calling out for his mother, claiming he had been shot before, crying and putting what appeared to be pills in his mouth. Nelson had said there were similarities between both incidents and that the evidence is relevant to the cause of Floyd’s death, which is in dispute.

It can be only used, as Cahill ruled, "as an example of Mr. Floyd's bodily reaction, his physical symptoms upon being confronted in almost the exact situation."

One thing that happens almost every time a policeman kills an unarmed Black person the first tactic conservative/Republicans use is to try and demonize the victim. Such as drug use and past arrests make it OK for the police to murder them.

And when we talk about police reform this is a very big part of it. Police departments from coast to coast are infiltrated with white supremacists, neo Nazis, racists, sadists, and domestic terrorists. And they need to be weeded out before any real reform can succeed.

There are about 700,000 police officers in the United States.
How many would you say are "white supremacists, neo Nazis, racists, sadists, and domestic terrorists"?
Oh, and do you have a source for your estimate?

'You can't paint me as angry': Witness to George Floyd killing shuts down Derek Cauvin's defense attorney

    CNN/screen grab

A witness in the Derek Chauvin trial pushed back on defense attorney Eric Nelson on Tuesday for suggesting he was an "angry" Black man.

On the second day of testimony, Nelson said that Donald Williams II became "angry" at police officers after he witnessed Chauvin killing George Floyd.

"As you were there and interacting with Officer Thao and Officer Chauvin, you grew more and more upset," Nelson stated. "Would you agree with that?"

"I grew control and professionalism," Williams replied.

"You said, "Like, I really wanted to beat the shit out of the police officers,'" Nelson pressed. "You were angry."

"No, you can't paint me as angry," Williams insisted. "I was in a position where I had to be controlled. A controlled professionalism. I wasn't angry because I stayed on the curb."

At that point, Nelson tried to get Williams' answer stricken from the record.

    "Overruled," the judge said.

The more succinct and concise question and answer would be.....how many of the 700,000 are not?

It is very rare for a police officer to be convicted on killing someone especially if the victim is Black. But I think the Chauvin case might be an exception. Even with all the eye witnesses I think a conviction would be in doubt. But when senior officers testify against him that is a lot of weight towards his guilt.

Senior officer says Chauvin used 'totally unnecessary' force on George Floyd

By Jonathan Allen MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - A Minneapolis homicide investigator testified on Friday that Derek Chauvin used "totally unnecessary" deadly force when kneeling on George Floyd's neck during an arrest last May that sparked global protests against police brutality. Chauvin, who is white, was fired by the city's police department the day after he was captured on video on top of a handcuffed Floyd as the 46-year-old Black man was dying. The 45-year-old former officer has pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter charges. "Totally unnecessary," Lieutenant Richard Zimmerman told the j...

Another license to kill anonymously. All the cops have to do is lie. Like I thought he had a gun. I feared for my life. Shouting STOP RESISTING STOP RESISTING STOP RESISTING while they beat the living fuck out of someone that isn't even moving.

Florida court rules that police officers involved in shootings can remain anonymous if they're 'victims' of a crime

According to a ruling from Florida's the 1st District Court of Appeal this Tuesday, municipalities cannot make public the names of police who shoot citizens if the police officers themselves were crime victims -- something that is almost always the case in police shootings, Axios reports.

The above article is very misleading. The citizens of the state of Florida placed this constitutional amendment on the ballot and it was approved. This amendment allows ALL victims of a crime to remain anonymous if they choose to do so. If you are robbed at gun point, you can remain anonymous due to the constitutional amendment. If someone hits your mailbox with a car and keeps on driving, you can remain anonymous due to the constitutional amendment.

And if you are a cop that shoots an unarmed Black person but say they tried to assault you you can remain anonymous.

WATCH: LA cops rough up and arrest Black man who smiled at them -- while looking for white suspect

After responding to a call in which a domestic violence suspect was the white man, Los Angeles Police officers ended up arrested the neighbor of the suspect's girlfriend, who is Black, the Los Angeles Times reports.

A video taken during the incident was made public this Friday in response to a lawsuit alleging racial profiling and civil rights violations brought by music producer Antone Austin, also known as Tone Stackz. Austin and his girlfriend were arrested in 2019 for resisting arrest, despite Austin not being the suspect.

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office said in a court filing that it did not want the LAPD's video made public because it would "be contrary to LAPD policy and may have a chilling effect on future LAPD investigations," but U.S. Magistrate Jacqueline Chooljian disagreed and allowed the video to be released.

The officers spotted Austin as he was taking out his trash. "He smiles at the officers as they approach," the Los Angeles Times noted.

In the video, police pass Austin and one officer asks the other, "This dude?"

    "Probably," says the other officer.

When the officers approach Austin and tell him to turn around, he asks why.

"Because I told you to," the officer replies.

When Austin tries to turn back toward the officers while protesting his innocence, a physical altercation ensues. Austin then begins to yell "Help" repeatedly.

Austin's girlfriend Michelle Michlewicz then tries to intervene as Austin struggles while the officers try to handcuff him.

"It is racial profiling. They had no description of the suspect — a completely blank slate," said attorney Faisal Gill, who represents both Austin and Michlewicz. "They literally saw the first Black man, and they arrested him."

Gill said that when the woman who called police told the officers Austin was not the suspect, they arrested him anyway.
