Present day

Every morning I sit and wait just to see if I will catch another glimpse of her at the small town cafe that makes my coffee just the way I love it. Usually I sit down in a corner booth, enjoying my morning ritual: coffee and my morning newspaper via reading it from a news icon on my phone. Later I will see the local newspaper - real paper that has creases. When I have finished my reading, the pretty lady that serves me kindly refills my cup.

But not today. Today I sit closer to the counter, anxiously waiting for another chance.

My mind wanders from reading the daily news. I find myself remembering that moment...


Four days ago

I turn around and for the first time I see her. That radiant smile that lights up the world, the dark hair that flows freely in the wind; eyes so big and round, taking in the surroundings. She walks in so confidently, straight up to the counter, passing me by without even a glance.

I watch her walking gracefully and smoothly to the counter. Her voice, like soft velvet to my ears, like no other voice I have ever heard. She orders a coffee with just a hint of creamer. As she waits for her coffee, I sit down in a chair near the pickup counter. In a heartbeat, she stands before me, her back was to me. I act like I'm doing something on my phone.

Out of the corner of my eye, I can see her round bum. Such a glorious sight my eyes have found: so round and perfectly shaped. My hands itch to caress the perfection as my eyes trace the curvature of her cheeks that flow so graciously down to her thighs and lower. She has long strong leg muscles predominately shown in the jeans worn by her. A pair of brown tennis shoes encase her feet.

I can hear the smile in her voice as she thanks the waitress for her cup o' Joe. I watch her elbows bend as she brings the coffee to her nose. Smelling the aroma and slowly sipping the hot liquid; she savors the taste of the slightly bitter, slightly discolored coffee. As she walks by my table, my eyes follow her every move. As if by its own accord, my body stands, my feet follow the same pattern from the easy carefree movements of the voluptuous woman that has snared my attention from the moment she walked in.

Vaguely I can hear that velvet voice once more, pulling me out of my dreamy memory state.

A muffin. A smile plays on my lips for I can hear her taking the time to hear the opinions of Amanda, the young girl behind the counter. Gathering my things, I walk up to the counter to stand next to the woman who has captured my every thought.

I set my cup down on the counter. She glances at me out of the corner of her eyes. I've watched her from afar for what seems like forever. Finally I am close enough to take a slow deep breathe. She smells of vanilla and spice, with just a hint of berries. Her hair is still damp from the morning rain. As another employee fills my cup, I notice Amanda has selected the "berry famous muffins".

When she takes the bag of goods and her coffee, something inside me bursts. From out of no where I have found my voice.

"What a fine selection for such a fine-looking woman."

My eyes watch as a faint pinkness climbs up her high cheek bones, a shy thank-you smile plays on her lips. Lips that are so perfectly curved up into her smile - such lickable lovable lips made for kissing. For just a moment, I wonder what it would be like to feel her lips on mine.

Another customer walks in. I watch his eyes drift slightly down. The bloody bloke is eyeing her chest!

She walks right by him, out into the rain.

I smile because she didn't even notice the man's interest in her. Opening my umbrella, I head out into the rain, expecting to see her walking away. I plan to catch up to her, to get her attention again, to -

But no.

Like magic, the girl of my dreams has disappeared.

A chance meeting between two strangers, a chance to find the girl of my dreams. Gone, wasted away. Tomorrow is another day.

Maybe someday I will see her again. Maybe I will still have my chance to impress her, to see those kissable lips smiling at me again. To see those long strong shapely legs waltzing by, the sexy rounded cheeks of her ass, and that bosom! Breasts that deserve to be cherished. A woman, whose body that should be made love to - not anything else, just loved. A chance to have the honor of loving her. The chance of a lifetime.
















ABOUT THE STORY: Theme 2 mentioned how it doesn't have to be sex that is described. I described sexual aspects of a woman whom I fancy.

Much like @Norton X 's entry, I don't see where the theme fits in. That was distracting me as I read it.

It's a good story (sheesh, I've been saying that a lot), but it's true. It was an enjoyable read, and even though it was short, I could see through the character's eyes. Good job

The description of the women was so good that I could picture her in my minds eye. Good job and thanks for your submission.

 

Much longer than your other story, but still a bit short. (knowing your work schedule, I grant you pardon. )

This is very good. As Tony said, it is very reminiscent of Norton's story, though while his was a close friend, yours was a potential friend.

The emotions were there, the descriptions were there, and the writing was good. Maybe you could have hit the theme a little better though It hints around the theme, but I don't think it was a bullseye. While it didn't need to be sexual, it could have described a single act, rather than a missed opportunity.

You probably need more practice... I wonder if there is someone hosting another one of these things soon that you could enter.
