Absolutely is..I've felt worse losing friends than losing wives

 

Absolutely - its great to have a sounding board to rant at..... nice knowing they wont laugh or insult you too

 

I don't know if I'm a good friend. I try to abstract myself from people as much as possible, because I quickly get tired of them. I'm too self-sufficient

 

Yes, without them you die alone as most outlive their family.

 

What constitutes a friend? Do u have friends here?

To me a friend is someone you trust. I have friends here who know my name, face, address, and I talk to them multiple times a day. I know their lives and they know mine. They have even talked to my kid. Someone I’d meet in a second if my borders weren’t closed lol.

 

True friends are not merely acquaintances. A true friend can tell you the truth about yourself, without you becoming offended, and vice versa.

 

A friend is someone you can call at 3 am and say you need help. All he asks is, "Where are you?"

 

I have friends (in 'real' life, not here) who are as close to me as my family, and I know them for decades. I didn't choose them, it just happened, we kinda naturally nurtured our bond and it is even stronger as time goes by. Trust, support, mutual understanding, kindness,.. oh, and their ability to make me laugh a lot (!) are some of the fundamental things that kept us together for all of these years.

 

My best friend who lives here would drop everything to help me, and has. When I was a mess at the hospital she left work early to go pick up my ex’s family from the airport for me. She brought me food because she knew I wasn’t eating. I’m a lucky girl

 

i have a few good friends - that i would do anything for - then i have lots of aquaintance friends - people who i'll go out with, play sports with and who will come and go in importance to me - but those few good friends are what makes the world a better place - i'd never take them for granted

 

My circle is small, dont know where I'd be if it werent for the 3 guys I call dear friends, to say we would do anything for each other is an understatement...we have buried bodies, a cat and dog but still

 

Friendship is extremely important. As I have gotten older I've realized eliminating the negative in life makes it better. I have just a few friends, they have been the ones that are supportive, positive outlooks, nonjudgemental. Quality and not quantify has made me so much happier.

 

Coming from a very very close knit clan like family we were not much into outside friends when it came down to depending on someone...and speaking for myself, I dont trust people that much nor would I ask for or expect help.

 

Sometimes a friend almost makes it up a grade to good friend - but that’s not an easy thing to achieve

 

My best friend is someone I grew up with, we're the same age, went through school together, best man at my wedding and I at his. I haven't talked to him in over 20 years so that makes him an even better than best friend.
I'm not certain because for one I don't care and two it's none of my business but I think my eldest son was tapping his eldest daughter at one time. No grandkids came from it so it's all good.

I don't have friends in real life, but i chat with some ladies frequently on internet. My family aren't my friends at all, though i live with mom and dad, but they are kinda communist and conservative, so i hate them.

 

My absolute closest friend is someone I met just over a year ago. Covid and a ton of miles separate us but thanks to technology we talk freely and openly about anything, confidently... without judgement, jealousy, or expectations. To say I "trust" them is a bit of an understatement. Sometimes you just get damn lucky (far beyond the sense of bar or pub "lucky"). I dunno... with that kind of luck maybe I should take it to Vegas!

 

Had anyone ever lost a friend? I’ve lost a few over the years, but it’s rare. I tend to hold onto people pretty tightly (not in a creepy way lol). And I forgive a lot. But it has happened. Usually they do something multiple times until finally I can’t forgive them.

 

Most of my friends are sadly in my computer and cell phone..Cause I'm the sole care provider and care giver for my elderly mom..whom has bad eyesight and dementia.. She did for me now it's my turn..Sure I have a few But I can't get out much or for too long
