  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

To make a long story short, I over fertilized the crap out of my lawn. It was winterizer fertilizer, and I used about tripple what was supposed to be used or more. Grass should stop growing here in Mn in the next month or two anyway, what am I going to be dealing with come spring? It is very dry right now, with possible rain a few times this week if that matters

Or might turn it brown. I used to work landscaping. The grass will be dormant soon so you might be ok.

I did the same shit In the summer. Left a box of fertiliser out in the rain and one bit of grass looks like a scene from close encounters

Lol.. throw some grass seed on it. Or hydro seed it. Works better. The birds can't eat it. And it won't blow away.

We're kinda in a drought situation in Minnesota.. but I always skipped the fertilizer part of spraying my yard. Just bug killer. But this year fertilizer burned most of the yards that got it done.

I fertilized because hopefully we will be selling in the spring. I wanted to put down astroturf but that shit is expensive.

Lawn care and automobile repair: completely foreign concepts to me. Here in L.A., having a gardener come in once a week to mow the lawn and trim things costs about $75 bucks a month - for extra jobs like fertilizing, you pay for the materials and give them maybe an extra $25 at best.

I'd flood it with the sprinkler system, or make the wife drag hoses around. You need to wash as much away as ya can.

Nah, I have an automatic sprinkler system. I would water the crap out of it to wash away as much fertilizer as I could before it burns the yard up.

A better question would be what happens to the runoff when it does rain?
Fish killing algae blooms are the result of fertilizers being washed into the water system.

Used to do cooling towers for the Public Utility companies. 90 feet to 140 feet up. Treated 3/4 inch sheets of 4x4 wood. With a six foot tie off on a 14 foot long deck. Lated a couple weeks doing that. Saw a guy fall 100 feet to the pavement. He lived. But broke a lot of bones. That guy went back after he healed up. Crazy. And not for me.

"You are not going hungry, Thank a few farmers, better yet put forth some time working for one, would definately improve your skill set ! Shoveling shit on the farm beats a lot of other jobs you might get stuck with!"
Which still has nothing to do with a guy over fertilizing his yard.

You complained about his fertilizer runoff , something farmers are always getting blamed for, see the relationship there? Or do I have to get more specific?

"see the relationship there? " No. You made that leap. Not me. Just because you inferred it, doesn't mean I implied it.
Nowhere did I blame farmers. This was someone's yard and it's not about a farmer's fertilizer run off it's about carelessly over fertilizing his yard.
I suppose if someone said they were driving through a residential neighborhood at 80 MPH and I asked about the danger to children in the area, you'd say I was attacking the automobile industry.

Gravely is an awesome machine.. the zero turns are expensive. And not very easy to work on if you don't know what they're about. Worked with a guy that said he was a mechanic and he couldn't figure it out. Don't remember what the issue was. Was over 10 years ago haha

Mine is old two wheel walk behind with power take off for blades, snow blower and a variety of small farming equipt..none of which I have or could use besides the lawn mower blades...but it isn't a zero turn...although you could horse it and go in a circle. Bought it, my third one, maybe 20 years ago...couple of hundred bucks.

Sounds like time for a ride on. My John Deere E 140 has a 38" cut, have mowed 5 ft weeds down, Well mostly knocked em down and stripped the leaves off, but cleared the yard none the less. Its got 22 HP, 10 more than it needs so its pretty thirsty, but so am I, and it has a cup holder for my bourbon and ice!
It also has a kill switch in the seat in case I get too fucked up and fall off, thus I can't self amputate anything.

We have ride on, a 26 hp Craftsmen cant recall if its 36 or 40inch, my wife and I use it, same kill switch... but...the Gravely walk behind was a true cutting machine...I could wade in with chopped pieces flying in all directions. I put a kill switch with a cord on the gravely a few years ago in case I fell down...and she kept going..especially near the lake. ..if that sucker went in the lake it would cost me a quadrillion bucks for environmental damage
