Washington Post: Penn State research finds Antifa presence at protests 'greatly increased the risk of violence'

"When antifa did attend protests, the incidence of violence was extremely high compared to the level at protests it did not attend."

A report on Antifa was published in The Washington Post—conducted by a team of researchers that analyzed Black Lives Matter and Antifa protests—that found that Antifa's presence at such events "greatly increased the risk of violence." The research found that Antifa's appearance at racial justice protests saw higher numbers of injuries and property damages than protests where they didn't appear. "One of the most important reports on #antifa published in the mainstream press..." explained The Post Millennial's editor-at-large Andy Ngo, whose investigative reporting on Antifa has made international headlines. "They found what I did: Antifa's presence is the biggest predictor for violence."

The research first set out to define what exactly is Antifa, after discussing previous deflections made by leaders talking about the violence on Jan. 6, comparing it against the violent "radical left people" that were involved in the 2020 racial justice protests in the wake of George Floyd's death.
"For most people antifa is a mystery wrapped in an enigma wearing a black mask," wrote sociologist Stanislav Vysotsky, the piece published in the Washington Post cited. While stating that Antifa, standing for anti-fascism, is an "ideological movement of loosely connected individuals and groups that oppose fascism and white supremacy," in the US, the piece said that "the 'antifa' moniker is most associated with a militant version of anti-fascism, particularly organizations including Rose City Antifa in Portland, Ore., and the Torch Antifa network."

The report found that Antifa groups use both "nonviolent tactics" like doxing and other forms of public shaming, as well as violence "to oppose fascist organizing, often responding to right-wing violence with similar tactics."

The study looked at two sources that collect event data: the Crowd Counting Consortium, and the Armed Conflict and Location and Event Data Project. While the CCC tended to undercount Antifa presence at racial justice protests, finding just six mentions, ACLED found that Antifa was present at 31 demonstrations. The researchers concluded that out of the nearly 14,000 racial justice protests in 2020, Antifa was found to be at just 37, or 0.2 percent of these protests.

"That would not qualify as an infiltration of the Black Lives Matter movement," the researchers, a PhD candidate in sociology at Penn State and an emeritus distinguished professor of sociology at Penn State, wrote, noting that a majority of these occurrences happened in the Pacific Northwest, California, and Washington. DC. "When antifa did attend protests, the incidence of violence was extremely high compared to the level at protests it did not attend," they wrote.

Of these 37 appearances at racial justice protests, 11 of these involving Antifa resulted in crowd injuries, or 30 percent. When Antifa did not appear, only two percent of the protests resulted in crowd injuries. When Antifa was present, 14 percent of the protests involved police injuries, compared to around two percent at protests that did not have the group in attendance. In terms of property damage, 27 percent of these protests that had Antifa present resulted in this, while this only occurred just four percent of the time without their appearance.

30 percent of protests involving appearances by Antifa resulted in arrests, compared to just seven percent of protests with the group’s absence. "In other words, antifa appearances at racial justice protests greatly increased the risk of violence," the researchers wrote.

They continued on to question whether the right-wing groups were the real source of the violence given that Antifa tens to show up to counter their presence. "That’s not what our research found. We saw no difference between events in which antifa was facing off with a group such as the Proud Boys or the Three Percenters and when they were protesting unopposed," they wrote.

The researchers also found that appearances by formal BLM groups made a difference in violence seen at these protests, but "found no evidence to suggest that it did," noting that of the nearly 14,000 racial justice protests, only around 3 percent were organized by formal BLM groups. The rest were locally organized.

"Antifa was rarely present during 2020's protests, but when it showed up, there was more violence," the researchers concluded. "We find no evidence that it infiltrated BLM, as some have charged, or caused BLM to be violent. Extremism is a concern, and right-wing extremism may pose a greater threat, but maligning BLM through association with antifa clearly misses the mark."

Elderly Chicago couple brutally beaten in broad daylight, wife only able to eat soup: Report
Wife's jaw, wrists broken and she can only eat liquids for weeks

An elderly couple in Chicago's Irving Park neighborhood says they were attacked by a man for no reason while heading home in broad daylight.

The couple believes the man followed them from the Chicago Transit Blue Authority Line before he started punching and kicking them, CBS 2 reports.

    https://twitter.com/cbschicago/stat...-in-broad-daylight-wife-only-able-to-eat-soup

"We’re city people," Bob Tataryn told the TV station. "We take the Blue Line as much as we can." He and his wife Katheryn are still recovering from the beating that left him bloody, bruised and with a broken nose.

The victims believe the attack around 3 p.m. one day last week was random. They said the attacker didn't steal anything, besides their peace of mind.

Tataryn said when they got to the Irving Park Road Blue Line platform in the median on the Kennedy Expressway, he realized someone was right behind him.

"Here’s a guy trying to squeeze into the turnstile with her," he said. The man did not let up when they came down the platform. "The guy was four feet away from us, still."

The man allegedly stayed close behind as the Tataryns, both 72, as they crossed the street, but Bob said the guy was still close behind when he turned around to ask the man if he was following them.

"He mumbles something and says, ‘You got a problem?’"

The man then started swinging, breaking the wife's jaw and wrists.

"Then he clocked me – the same procedure – I would say six, seven, eight times to the head, and I went down," he said.

Bob shouted a lie to the man in attempt to stop the attack.

"I yelled out, ‘My wife – she’s really sick, she’s got cancer!’" Bob said. "He turned and walked away."

Katheryn does not really have cancer, but the attack left her in need of two surgeries.

She is unable to open her mouth, and can only eat liquids like soup for six to eight weeks.

Chicago police told CBS2 they have not made an arrest in the case.

California Prosecutors Are Sick and Tired of George Gascon’s Woke Crime Policies
By Jeff Charles | Feb 23, 2022 2:45 PM ET

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon isn’t very popular among his underlings. As it turns out, even a blue city like L.A. isn’t too fond of the “woke” approach to addressing crime. But does this signal an end to Gascon’s career, or will this amount to a whole lot of nothing?

The Washington Examiner reports that a majority of the city’s prosecutors want Gascon to lose his job:

The vast majority of members of the association representing Los Angeles prosecutors voted to have their boss, District Attorney George Gascon, recalled from the job he has held for two years.

The Association of Deputy District Attorneys, comprising more than 800 deputy district attorneys in the county, said Tuesday that 98% of its members back recalling Gascon in a vote. The association said 88.3% of the trial attorneys participated in the vote.

Currently, a signature-gathering campaign for a recall election is underway. More than 31 cities in Los Angeles County support the effort to oust the district attorney.

“This vote is by those who are intimately familiar with how Mr. Gascon’s policies actually play out on a day-to-day basis,” said Michele Hanisee, president of the organization. “We believe the vote of our members will resonate with the voters of Los Angeles as they decide whether to recall Gascon from office and restore public safety as the priority of the district attorney’s office.”

The group held the vote after Gascon brushed off a meeting with his attorneys two weeks ago. Instead, he chose to make an appearance with public defenders at a town hall.

    From The Washington Examiner:

Shortly after taking office, he posted a list of mandates that reversed decades of tough-on-crime charging and sentencing enhancements that had been overwhelmingly passed by California voters over the years.

One of the most glaring issues people have raised with Gascon’s methods is his stance on prosecuting teenagers as adults. Prosecutors lashed out at him when he kept a 17-year-old child molester in juvenile court to shield him from a harsh sentence. The defendant received a two-year sentence and was not required to register as a sex offender.

The defendant is now a 26-year-old trans woman named Hannah Tubbs. During a phone call, she bragged about getting away with the crime. Fox News reported that on a recorded phone call, she can be heard saying: “I’m going to plead out to it, plead guilty. They’re going to stick me on probation, and it’s going to be dropped — it’s going to be done. I won’t have to register, won’t have to do nothing.”

Gascon has also received criticism for his stances on other critical issues. The Examiner noted:

Gascon has refused additional charges for guns, belonging in a gang, and participating in multiple felonies, which are “strikes” that could lead to life sentences. He reversed a decades-old tradition of sending prosecutors to parole hearings to advocate keeping prisoners behind bars.

It is not yet known whether Gascon will survive the attempt to remove him from his position. His comrade, woke San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin managed to retain his job after a failed recall effort. However, residents of the city have mounted another challenge, and after what happened with the three school board members in the same city, it would not be shocking if Boudin’s days are numbered. The same holds true with Gascon.

If California voters give both Gascon and Boudin their walking papers it will be yet another signal that America rejects progressive policies – especially those related to crime. But the fact that Gascon’s prosecutors wish to fire their boss is telling. Turns out prioritizing dangerous criminals over the people they victimize isn’t quite as popular as they thought.

An Illegal Immigrant Murdered His Three Children and California's Sanctuary State Has Blood on Its Hands
By Kira Davis | Mar 05, 2022 6:15 PM ET

This weekend, Californians are mourning the horrific loss of three children at the hands of their own father.

On March 1, David Mora Rojas, age 39, shot to death his three daughters and their court-appointed supervisor in the Sacramento church where they had arranged a visitation. He then shot himself.

The shooter was under a restraining order brought by his estranged wife over allegations of domestic abuse.

Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the suspect as David Mora Rojas, 39. The victims have been identified as Samantha Mora Gutierrez, 10, Samarah Mora Gutierrez, 9, Samia Mora Gutierrez, 13 and Nathaniel Kong, 59.

Samantha would have turned 11 on Wednesday. The mother was not there at the time of the shooting and has been alerted to what happened.

    https://twitter.com/JamesTorrezNews...anctuary-state-has-blood-on-its-hands-n532211

The shocking murder-suicide is made even more devastating by the fact that Mora Rojas was not supposed to be in the United States at all. The Mexican native originally overstayed his visa all the way back in 2018. Since that time, he’d been arrested for assaulting an officer, domestic violence, DUI, and assaulting medical staff as recently as February. The perpetrator should have been deported on any of those charges, but California is a sanctuary state, which means illegal immigrants cannot be reported to federal immigration authorities, even if they commit heinous crimes. He was released just last week after the police officer assault. The Merced County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that because of the sanctuary state laws, they were not allowed to alert federal immigration authorities (ICE) of Mora Rojas’ latest arrest and release. Days later, his three daughters and their court-appointed social worker were dead.

Sanctuary state and city laws in California and across the country have led to countless preventable tragedies involving illegal immigrant criminals.

In 2018, Luis Rodrigo Perez murdered three people after his release from a New Jersey jail on charges of domestic violence. Sanctuary laws prohibited ICE from intervening.

Jose Omar Bello Reyes murdered a California man in 2021, but had an extensive record of entanglement with law enforcement and had been shielded by California’s sanctuary laws for years.

And then of course there was the tragic case of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts, who was murdered by an illegal immigrant who stalked her as she was jogging one morning. Iowa has no official sanctuary cities, but the shocking murder ignited the discussion of lax immigration enforcement and the effect it can have on innocent Americans.

Many pro-sanctuary people will argue that America has plenty of our own crimes and criminals, and committing a crime has nothing to do with being an illegal immigrant, so the two violations – crime and illegal immigration – should remain separate. But that’s actually the reason we should be doubling down on immigration enforcement. We have enough of our own criminals to deal with on a daily basis. We certainly don’t need to be importing anymore. We can hardly keep up with the ones we have.

These are all the same people who use a tragic school shooting to scream about new gun laws because we need a “prevention” strategy for insane people who think it’s okay to murder their classmates, but they have no interest in prevention laws when it comes the potential for illegals to commit horrific acts of violence on American soil.

The only thing that must be worse than hearing your three children have been murdered by their own father, alongside an innocent social worker, is hearing that it could have been preventing by simply sending the murderer back to his own country when we had the chance.

Shame on every politician and voter who supports sanctuary laws. Every single one has blood on their hands.

Amazon is temporarily relocating employees from its downtown Seattle office, following a rise in violent crime

    • Amazon announced Friday it would temporarily move employees from its downtown Seattle office.
    • The decision comes amid an increase in violent crime in the area.
    • An Amazon spokesperson told Insider they plan to bring workers back when "it is safe to do so."
Amazon is temporarily relocating employees from its downtown Seattle office amid an increase in violent crime in the area.

An Amazon spokesperson told Insider via email: "Given recent incidents near 3rd and Pine, we're providing employees currently at that location with alternative office space elsewhere." The building is not closed, however.

The spokesperson added: "We are hopeful that conditions will improve and that we will be able to bring employees back to this location when it is safe to do so."

The office is at 300 Pine Street, about a half-mile from its main headquarters on Seventh Avenue.

As reported by KOMO News, shootings, stabbings, and other crimes are increasing in the area.

Michael del Bianco, a 15-year-old boy, was shot and killed at the intersection where Amazon's office is located on March 2, per Newsweek.

About 1,800 Amazon employees are assigned to the office, according to the spokesperson, but many of them had been working remotely due to the pandemic.

According to information from the Seattle Police Department's Twitter account, there have been at least three shootings, two stabbings, and one carjacking in the area since February 21.

A spokesperson for Mayor Bruce Harrell told KOMO News in a statement: "Mayor Harrell will continue to develop a comprehensive approach to public safety in collaboration with police and safety advocates, community members, service providers, and businesses, including Amazon, to activate, revitalize, and restore downtown for all."

I would think... that Amazon would have enough political influence to get this shit sorted out and push for a safer, less 'diverse/tolerant' atmosphere that allows crime to be so rampant in that area of this Nation.

Los Angeles robberies involving firearms up 44% and are becoming more violent, police chief says
LAPD Chief Michel Moore urged residents to take precautions to prevent becoming a robbery victim

Robberies in Los Angeles involving a firearm have increased 44% this year, the city's top cop said Tuesday, who noted that authorities are seeing an increase in the level of violence used during such crimes and that those wearing expensive jewelry could be targeted by thieves.

The message from LAPD Chief Michel Moore confirmed what many residents and business owners already suspected amid a crime surge and uptick in robberies in general.

"There's been a marked increase of armed robberies involving victims wearing expensive jewelry, as well as just other individuals whether they're at commercial stores such as mini markets, convenience stores, gas stations, or on the street," Moore said in an LAPD bulletin. "Most concerning is that there has been an increase in the levels of violence used during these robberies and the frequency in which a firearm was used."

Citywide, robberies have increased nearly 18%, according to Los Angeles Police Department data.

"Numerous arrests have been made and federal and state prosecutions are being pursued," the LAPD said.

As of March 19, there were nearly 2,000 reported robberies compared to 1,690 in the same time frame in 2021. The year-to-date total figures show that robberies involving a firearm account for 74% of the city's robbery increase as well as 36% of all robberies.

Robberies involving a firearm were up 44% this year, Los Angeles' top cop said this week, warning that anyone wearing expensive jewelry could become a target for thieves. (LAPD)

The Los Angeles Police Protective League, the union that represents rank-and-file officers, said the civilian-led Police Commission's approval of policies to limit pretextual stops and other measures puts public safety at risk.

"This increase in gun crimes should be a stark reminder of the dangers our residents face every day," the union's board of directors said in a statement to Fox News. "It is incomprehensible that during this gun crime epidemic that the (Los Angeles) Police Commission would enact a policy to curtail legal car stops, stops that take guns off our streets. Angelenos are fed up and this election we hope they will vote for candidates that care more about residents than criminals."

In an effort to deter opportunists, Moore urged people to take different routes home and pay attention to vehicles and pedestrians, referencing an increase in robberies in which victims were followed home from public spaces by thieves.

He encouraged victims not to resist robbers, to travel in groups, and remain in well-lit areas. Los Angeles County has seen some of the most brazen robberies amid a nationwide crime wave that began in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many suspects have looted retail stores in smash-and-grab jobs, some violently. Other incidents have ended with deadly consequences, such as the Beverly Hills home invasion in which Jacqueline Avant, wife of legendary music executive, Clarence Avant, was allegedly shot and killed by a suspect.

On Tuesday, five masked thieves dressed in black used sticks or sledgehammers to make off with $5 million worth of merchandise, in broad daylight. A video of the incident shared on Instagram by Street People of Beverly Hills shows the suspects in front of a shattered store window and appearing to take items and fleeing on foot.

Where is the quiz? I want to see if the British military thinks I am one of those dangerous right-wing extremists. The British military just might, even though I favor the economic reforms of the New Deal during the Roosevelt administration in the 1930's, I favor strict environmental restrictions, especially designed to prevent global warming, and I like Jews and Orienals.

What might get me flagged for future scrutiny would be that I have noticed that social democracy has only flourished in countries where nearly every one is white, and of European origin.

During the 1930's ninety percent of the U.S. population was white. Most blacks were restricted to de facto second class citizenship. This restriction was an obvious violation of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments. The New Deal was popular in the South. Nationally it was popular among low income whites. Consequently Franklin Roosevelt was re elected three times. This would not have been the case if civil rights legislation had been part of the New Deal agenda.

Those who claim "Diversity is our strength" cannot point to any tangible benefits. Countries where nearly everyone is white or Oriental have responded quickly to national traumas. Germany and Japan recovered well from the destruction of World War II. South Korea responded well from the destruction of the Korean War. With our increasingly diverse population, the United States is having difficulty responding to traumas much less serious than the flu epidemic of 1918-20, the Great Depression, and the Second World War.

Does recognizing these truths mean that I am a dangerous right wing extremist? I would like to take the quiz to find out, but I would rather not be required to leave my name and email address.

Well, dog, you can't always have it your way. If you want to take the test, gotta leave a name, apparently.
You ask the question, what tangible benefit from diversity?
      Pizza. Tacos. Goulash.
      Music.
      Art.
      Language.
Technological innovation from America, as developed by our LEGAL immigrants.

      Cmon dude.

One of the few successful social experiments in the United States has been the increase in the prison population.

From 1960 to 1970 the prison population declined from 212,953 to 196,429

The civil rights legislation was passed. Poverty declined because of a broadly based economic expansion, and War on Poverty Programs.

During this time the crime rate per 100,000 inhabitants increased from 1,887.2 to 3,984.5

From 1980 to 2016 the prison population increased from 315,974 to 1,380,427

Poverty increased because the economy became more competitive, and because of cuts in welfare.

During this time the crime rate per 100,000 declined from 5,950,0 to 2,489.3.

L.A. is a great big freeway.
Put a hundred down and buy a car.
In a week, maybe two they will make you a star.
Weeks turn into years, how quick they pass,
And all the stars that never were are parking cars and pumping gas.

What? No FIB raids on the homes of the school board members with CNN in tow? Hmmm, sometimes it's difficult to comprehend the amount of hatred of which the Democrat Party is capable.

Hot Mic Catches Death Threat Against Marsha Blackburn After Ketanji Brown Jackson Hearing

We truly live in the dumbest of times. Naturally, that means asking any relevant question of Ketanji Brown Jackson, Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, is justification for wailing and moaning. In that vein, no more triggering of a moment transpired over the last week’s confirmation hearings than Sen. Marsha Blackburn asking Jackson what a woman is

In true far-left fashion, the nominee responded that she didn’t know because she wasn’t a “biologist.” My seven-year-old can tell you what a woman is, but a person seeking a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the land can’t. It’d be hilarious if it weren’t so sad and pathetic.

As I said, though, because everything must be stupid, it has been Blackburn who has borne the brunt of scorn for even daring to challenge Jackson’s delusional worldview. That has now been manifested in a death threat, serious or not, from a school board member in Nashville, one of the major cities in the state Blackburn represents in the Senate.

Townhall provides a transcript of what was said, for those who can’t watch the video.

“Have you been watching these Supreme Court…,” says an unidentified voice.

“Let me tell y’all,” says another.

“She is something else,” says one, apparently speaking of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

“Let me tell y’all,” repeats one.

“I love her,” gushes another about Biden’s SCOTUS nominee.

“Can we just go set Marsha Blackburn on fire?” says one, taking the conversation in a dark direction.

Do I think this lunatic is actually going to go set Blackburn on fire? No, I’m not that melodramatic. Sure, it technically qualifies as a death threat, but I wouldn’t expect this person to act on it.

Still, the thing that sticks out to me the most is just how obscenely ridiculous that entire conversation is. All Blackburn did was ask Jackson to define what a woman is. Why is that an important question? Because a range of new laws protecting women’s sports from male participants are going to end up challenged over the next several years. Eventually, a landmark case is going to end up in front of the Supreme Court.

Given that, you bet your backside that it’s incredibly relevant to understand whether Jackson has some basic understanding of what a woman is because that will be a question at the heart of how she eventually rules on any matter dealing with transgenderism. These school board members (and the left at large) keep scoffing at the question, but they are the ones who pushed society to a point where it has to be asked. It is not Blackburn who is at fault for such lunacy. Rather, the blame lies with those who are so far out in left-field that they can’t see home plate, proclaiming that a man can become a woman just because he says so.

How we did get to this point? I suspect years of the Republican establishment insisting that the culture wars were a waste of time and beneath the dignity of politics had something to do with it. The far-left has had free rein to spread their degeneracy for most of the last several decades until recently, where figures like Ron DeSantis, among others, have finally started to push back on things like transgender indoctrination, Critical Race Theory, and the sexualizing of children.

And what happens when you push back on a group of people that are used to facing no resistance? They scream bloody murder, and that’s what has been happening lately. There were headlines recently that actually suggested Jackson has been treated worse than Brett Kavanaugh, the latter of which was falsely accused of gang rape. By contrast, what’s the great sin committed by Republicans against Jackson? Asking her questions about her actual record and worldview.

Blackburn shouldn’t be set on fire for asking Jackson to define what a woman is. Instead, she should be commended for having the guts to challenge the deluded, irrational beliefs of the left. It’s no coincidence that the moment she did, the entire house of cards came crashing down. That’s why Blackburn is getting so much hate. It’s not because she didn’t anything wrong, but because she did something right.

As usual, just shit thrown out there with no explanation, no supporting documentation - at best, I take it that this is representative of a female to male sex change.

Sorry, Clown Dog - this 'proves' nothing.

I did not post that photo to prove anything.
