Poll: Almost half of New Yorkers may leave due to crime

Almost half of New York City residents are considering relocating to other cities as violent crime in the Big Apple spirals out of control. That’s according to a new poll by Morning Consult, which found 40 percent of Manhattan residents and 48 percent of people living in other boroughs want to move out of New York.

WANTED for ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Do you know this guy? On 3/27/22 at approx 10:48 AM, inside of 618 8 Ave in Manhattan, the suspect attempted to take a 73-year-old man's wallet, then followed him outside and assaulted him. Any info? DM @NYPDTips, or anonymously call 800-577-TIPS. pic.twitter.com/9mIBefF6HH

    — NYPD NEWS (@NYPDnews) March 28, 2022

The poll shows a whopping 94 percent of New Yorkers believe the city’s ruling Democrats have not done enough to tackle crime. This comes as New York Mayor Eric Adams said he’s considering using drones and other technology to fight criminals. However, New Yorkers don’t believe the situation would change for the better.

“New York City subway is in a state of emergency,” said Charlton D’Souza, President of Passengers United – New York. “Right now, we need Governor Kathy Hochul and the mayor and this chairman to demand that we have 200 state troopers in the subway.”

The NYPD needs help IDing two individuals wanted for a shooting at 127 Riverdale Ave, #Brooklyn, where a 3-year-old girl was shot & injured. One of the suspects drove a BMW.

This violence won’t be tolerated. Someone knows them & they will be arrested. Call #800577TIPS with info. pic.twitter.com/4Ofd9caNYW

    — Commissioner Sewell (@NYPDPC) March 26, 2022

Reports also found many New York workers are considering quitting their jobs and relocating to other cities due to the lack of safety on public transport.

Liberal mayor's appointee beaten, robbed outside home as crime surges

The director of the Chicago Film Office is recovering after being beaten by three men trespassing inside his parked vehicle outside his home.

"This [morning] I was attacked, beaten, and my car stolen by three kids," Kwame Amoaku reportedly said in a Facebook post. "Thanks to all who have reached out. I’m in the ICU. I’m going to be ok."

What happened to Amoaku around 7:46 a.m. Wednesday was originally reported by Reel Chicago. Chicago police confirmed a 51-year-old man was attacked, but did not provide his identity.

"The victim confronted the offenders, who then began battering the victim with various objects," an incident report from Chicago Police Department reads.

The offenders took off in a gray Dodge Caravan, returned to the scene moments later to continue battering Amoaku and then fled again.

Amoaku's personal belongings were taken by the suspects. He was taken to a hospital in serious, but stable condition with a head injury and fractured arm.

Police say no one is in custody at this time, and detectives continue investigating.

A woman who identifies as Amoaku's daughter on Facebook asked for the public's assistance through a Meal Train fundraiser during his recovery.

Amoaku was appointed to lead the city's film office in July 2019 by Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Prior to his current role, Amoaku was location manager for "Chicago Fire" and for the Netflix movie based on Chicago’s hip-hop scene, "Beats." He also acted in various locally-filmed TV shows, according to a city's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Facebook post. He attended Southern Illinois University.

The Chicago Film Office leads the city’s effort to attract and enhance the production of feature films, television series, commercials, documentaries and all forms of local screen entertainment, according to its website.

I highly doubt the criminals have any political association whatsoever!

Also, crime rates are up all over the country, is nothing unique to Chicago.

      Wait. Covid causes crime?
You got a source for that?
Cause, Shooter is pretty sure, crime increased according to changes in political leadership and it happened before covid.
In fact, increased starting in the second year of the Obama administration.

Wow! Didn't say that. People are desperate because of what has happened economically because of covid.

But hey, twist my words all you want...

And no, it didn't happen because of political changes. Crime was up under Trump, as a result of covid. And no, I'm not blaming Trump for that, so don't twist my words.

Also, Obama isn't mentioned at all on your link. Funny how there isn't a single reference to any year Obama was in office.

Analysis: Democrats at the helm of 11 of the 15 deadliest cities in U.S.

The cities largely run by Democrats are St. Louis, Baltimore, New Orleans, Detroit, Cleveland, Newark, Chicago, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh.

All but three cities on the list have Democratic mayors. Democratic district attorneys are also in charge of prosecution in 12 of the 15 cities.

Progressive prosecutors, which hold office in nearly all of the 15 cities, have come under fire lately for weakening their prosecutorial standards.

Cook County, Ill. State's Attorney Kim Foxx has reportedly dismissed thousands of felonies that would have been pursued in the past, according to the Marshall Project.

Progressive Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot warned the city could descend “into chaos” after Foxx declined to prosecute gang members involved in a deadly shootout, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The outlet said a police report noted that Foxx told police she would not prosecute the case due to insufficient evidence and because the shootout occurred between “mutual combatants.”

Manhattan Will Now Prosecute Armed Robbery as a Misdemeanor

Obviously, you have good reason to fear for your life. After all, you have extensive knowledge of handguns and ballistics. If he pulls that trigger while the gun is aiming at your face, you’re not likely to survive. In most areas of the country, you’d be perfectly justified in shoving his gun aside, pulling your own handgun, and defending your life with deadly force.

However, in New York City that’s not really the case. A concealed carry permit can take many years and even more money. However, in Manhattan, it is nearly impossible—unless you are very rich or have political connections. Basically, the only thing that prevents the above scenario from occurring more often than it does (which is a lot, with NYC seeing its worst violent crime wave in years in 2021), is a fear of an armed robbery conviction and spending 25 years in jail.

Well, hold on, Manhattanites! That deterrent is no longer in place. This, thanks to new Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s recent decision to prosecute armed robbery as a misdemeanor, moving forward.

    A Memorandum
In a memo to staff on his first day on the job, Bragg said his office “will not seek a carceral sentence” except with homicides and a handful of other cases, including domestic violence felonies, some sex crimes, and public corruption.

According to the memo, which was obtained by the New York Post: “Armed robbers who use guns or other deadly weapons to stick up stores and other businesses will be prosecuted only for petty larceny, a misdemeanor, provided no victims were seriously injured and there’s no ‘genuine risk of physical harm’ to anyone.”

Bad policy aside, Bragg shows his misguided position when he states that victims are in “no genuine risk of physical harm” when robbed by an assailant with a firearm. As previously mentioned, in most parts of the country, armed citizens can shoot and armed robber. That is if that citizen believes his or her life is in danger. Which isn’t hard to feel, with a gun shoved in your face! Gun safety dictates that when someone points a gun at you, you are facing a “genuine risk of physical harm.”

Armed robbery is a class B felony and is typically punishable by a maximum of 25 years in prison. Now, as a petty larceny charge, convicted armed robbers face up to 364 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. The state will then release them to endanger law-abiding citizens all over again.

    Not Well Received
Not unexpectedly, many in law enforcement didn’t look upon Bragg’s new directive favorably.

Police officers don’t want to be sent out to enforce laws that the district attorneys won’t prosecute,” Patrick Lynch, president of NYPD’s largest union, told the Post. “And there are already too many people who believe that they can commit crimes, resist arrest, interfere with police officers, and face zero consequences.”

Of course, making armed robbery a misdemeanor isn’t the only change Bragg made—just the most pathetic. He’s also dramatically downgrading charges for certain residential burglars, drug dealers, and convicted criminals caught with weapons.

The likely end result of a skyrocketing armed robbery rate might surprise Bragg. But it won’t surprise most who understand violent crime and the people who perpetrate such offenses. Manhattanites better get used to having guns stuck in their faces and their property stolen from them on the streets. Because that’s likely to happen a lot more often with Bragg in the DA’s office.

USPS stops deliveries to California neighborhood after repeated attacks on mail carriers: Report
United States Postal Service suspended services in Santa Monica because one suspect accused of assaulting and threatening carriers 'has not been located or apprehended'

The United States Postal Service has suspended services in one neighborhood in Santa Monica, California, because of repeated attacks on mail carriers since January.

The first incident happened on Jan. 19 when a resident living near the intersection of 14th Street and Arizona Avenue allegedly swung a broomstick at one carrier delivering mail in the early evening hours, CBS News reported. The carrier reportedly was not injured in the attack.

Months later, residents recently received notices from the USPS informing them that delivery service has been hereby suspended to all addresses located in the 1300 block of 14th Street.

The notice explained that "multiple carriers have been subjected to assaults and threats of assault from an individual who has not been located or apprehended."

Still, only one assault has been officially reported, and the victim in that incident declined to have the case prosecuted, CBS News reported. It’s not clear when the suspension is set to end. Despite the notice, USPS still has been delivering packages in the neighborhood, but paper mail delivery has halted, and residents have been instructed to pick up their mail in person at their post office on 7th Street.

"My immediate reaction was just disappointment," Courtney Smith, who lives in the area, told CBS.

"I feel a lot of compassion for the mail carriers," she added. "Not doing anything is not the solution."

USPS spokeswoman Natashi Garvins told Fox News Digital there have been three separate incidents in the 1300 block of 14th street in Santa Monica involving three separate letter carriers over the last several months, and, as a result, service has temporarily been suspended to residents in the area.

"This is an unusual, but necessary step to protect our employees," she said, declining to go into detail about the specific incidents.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the law enforcement arm of the USPS, said it "is aware of the recent reports of suspicious activity towards Postal Carriers in Santa Monica, California," according to a statement provided to Fox News Digital. "Postal Inspectors are currently investigating the incidents and are unable to comment further at this time. Postal Inspectors encourage anyone who observes suspicious activity involving US Mail to report it to local police and to Postal Inspectors at 1-877-876-2455."

A spokeswoman for the Santa Monica Police Department told Fox News Digital that her department first became aware of the USPS notice about the suspension of service on Saturday and since then, calls placed to the phone numbers listed on the letter either went unanswered or the voicemail box was full.

Santa Monica police have only located one report about an assault with a deadly weapon, a broomstick, on a mail carrier in the 1300 block of 14th Street on Jan. 19, 2022. The alleged attacker "lived in the area and is known to our officers and also to the mail carrier he attacked," the spokeswoman said via email.

"The officers who took the report contacted the United States Postal Inspection Service on the day of the incident to provide information for the incident should they wish to follow up," Santa Monica police Lt. Erika Aklifi told Fox News Digital. "We do not know if the USPIS did so."

She said Santa Monica detectives remained in contact with the victim, who sustained a minor injury to his arm, did not require medical attention and declined prosecution a month later.

"If there were other incidents of USPS mail carriers being attacked, we were unable to locate additional reports," Aklifi added. "Without speaking to the postmaster, it will be difficult to know the extent of this issue. I have never heard of the Postal Service suspending service for all residents in a neighborhood, and can only refer you to them for answers about their course of action."

If I lived near the 1300 block of 14th street in Santa Monica, I'd organize a small militia, and we'd goose step in front of and behind the mail carrier.

Father who moved family out of Seattle says others should follow: 'It's completely out of control'
Ryle Goodrich tells 'America's Newsroom' he fled liberal city due to crime, homeless crisis

Ryle Goodrich moved his family out of Seattle over concerns about crime after a homeless encampment was allowed next to his children’s school. Now, after seeing the homeless crisis worsen and the crime rates surge, Goodrich said leaving the liberal city was one of the best decisions he’s ever made.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell on Thursday claimed his city is on track to be one of the safest cities in America. Goodrich, however, argued the crime is out of control.

He said on "America’s Newsroom" Friday that while living in Seattle he had to constantly scan sidewalks and playgrounds for needles.

"It’s not a normal place to be," Goodrich told host Gillian Turner. "It’s completely out of hand."

Goodrich said "it's not normal" to be accosted by homeless people while walking with your children or have to scan the playground for used needles.

Goodrich previously spoke out in April 2021 after he found a katana sword and a throwing ax in the homeless encampment next to his son’s school. He said the camp was "completely unmanaged" and within view of elementary students during recess.

"There was a lot of drug use and weapons and violence," he said. "And there was gunfire."

According to the Seattle Police Department, aggravated assault is up 24% in 2022 compared to the previous year, and robberies are up 18%. While homicides are currently down, Goodrich said the city may be on track for an all-time record.

Goodrich acknowledged Mayor Harrell’s efforts to improve things but noted a primary cause of the problems is a lack of support for the police.

"Our police has been so underfunded," he said. "Things are completely out of control in Seattle still even though the new mayor is trying to do better, and I wish him all the best."

Seattle’s latest effort to curb the homeless crisis included the creation of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, which purchased hotels to house the homeless.

Goodrich maintained, however, that leaving the city was a good decision despite all the efforts at improvement.

"And I would encourage people to keep considering leaving Seattle," he said.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams agrees progressive politics play a role in increased crime across American cities
'We have to rebuild that trust,' Adams said

New York City Mayor Eric Adams agreed with former NYPD commissioner William Bratton that progressive politics played a role in the increase of crime in American cities on ABC's "This Week" Sunday.

"The scales right now are tipped very heavily in favor of the reforms of the progressive left. Well intended, some needed, but a bit too far, and what we have as a result is this growing fear of crime, this growing actual amount of crime in almost every American city," Bratton said during an appearance on the "Bloomberg Businessweek" podcast Thursday.

    https://twitter.com/ThisWeekABC/sta...ics-play-role-increased-crime-american-cities

Adams said that he believed Bratton was "right."

"Major mistakes made throughout the years that destroyed the trust that the police commissioner is talking about - we have to rebuild that trust," Adams said. "But we can't rebuild that trust by allowing those who are dangerous and that have - they have a repeated history of violence to continue to be on our streets."

His fellow ABC guest, New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell, said, "we cannot lose sight of the victims of crime. We believe the system has to be fair and balanced, but when we lose sight of the victims of crime, we are not doing what public safety is intended to do."

Adams previously said that crime was a national issue and added that it's not "red state, blue state."

Host George Stephanopoulos also asked the mayor and Sewell about the recent subway shooting in Brooklyn, wondering if there needs to be a better way to track individuals like Frank James, the shooting suspect. He noted that in many ways James was "hiding in plain sight," alluding to James' problematic social media and Youtube pages.

Adams said that social media companies need to "step up."

"There's a corporate responsibility when we are watching hate brew online," Adams told the ABC host. "We can identify using artificial intelligence and other methods to identify those who are talking about violence."

Sewell said crime was down in the subways compared to pre-pandemic numbers.

"We recognize that people need to see a visible presence of police in the subway and we're endeavoring to make sure that that happens," Sewell said.

James was arrested Wednesday following the previous day's shooting that left 29 people injured.

Boston juveniles' broad daylight beating of woman allegedly targeted for race, hairstyle captured on video
Boston police cite group of 'violent' juveniles 'terrorizing' downtown, hurling 'racially motivated insults' at both victims and officers

A disturbing new video has emerged showing a group of Boston juveniles beating down a 20-year-old woman in broad daylight in an attack the victim told police was prompted by the swath of mostly teens and at least one minor as young as age 12 taking issue with her hairstyle.

This comes as the Boston Police Department has described "a recent barrage of juvenile incidents" withing District A-1 "involving young teenagers fighting in public, causing disturbances inside businesses, vandalizing storefronts by smashing glass window with blunt objects, aggravated assaults, assaults on police officers, and civil rights violations."

A police report mentions "a specific group of violent juveniles terrorizing the Downtown Crossing area."

WCVB obtained video showing the beating that happened Monday in the area of Winter Sweet and Washington Street. Boston police officers were already in the area responding to separate assault and battery near a Macy’s store when a report came in about a huge brawl happening nearby.

A 911 caller told a dispatcher that a group of between 10 and 15 Black girls were attacking two females. One of the victims, a 20-year-old woman, told officers that the group approached her and began calling her "a white b**** with braids," according to a police report. The victim stated she identified as "Hispanic" and started to walk away from the group when an "unknown female then came up to her, pulled her by the hair and then the group of young females began to punch and kick her."

"It was crazy," Julie Mendez, manager of the nearby City Smoke Shop, told WCVB. "They were trying to take her bags, so I was trying to grab them, so they wouldn't take her bags. It was just insane."

As officers were placing several of the juveniles under arrest, they were spat at, punched and at least one juvenile pulled an officer’s hair "by ripping it out of a secured bun," according to the police report. One minor allegedly ignored officer commands to go home and instead opened the door of a police cruiser to attempt to free her friends being held in police custody in the back seat.

"What you wanna do?" one of the girls allegedly shouted at an officer, according to the police report obtained by the Boston Herald, as she "raised her hands high toward her face in an aggressive fighting stance while bobbing her hands" up and down "similar to a boxing prizefighter."

The police report notes how one officer "deduced that the group of juveniles were instigating a violent confrontation with the officers," a belief based on the minors’ "wildly negative behaviors" aimed at the officers, as well as "the rude and racially motivated insults" being hurled at officers."

The incident comes less than a month after an 81-year-old man was assaulted by a group of four juveniles, described as one Black boy and three Black girls, while he was eating a hamburger at a McDonald’s on Washington St. According to a police report, they smacked him in the head and nailed him while whip cream before later moving on to a nearby bar and grill.

The group allegedly requested alcohol but were denied service, then began shouting "Black Lives Matter" and hurled racial slurs and spat on patrons. They shattered a door as they were escorted out, the police report said. Just days later, the same group of juveniles allegedly punched a female victim who refused to buy them ice cream. Police said they also again shouted racial slurs in that incident.

"It’s a disgrace. Where are the parents?" the 81-year-old victim recently told Boston 25. "These kids should be home at that time."

In another violent incident in the downtown area this week, two women were stabbed around 2:19 a.m. early Wednesday in the Theatre District when a group of about 10 people began fighting while leaving the Tunnel bar located downstairs in the W Boston hotel building. The victims were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries.

The Herald reported that the double stabbing happened just hours after nearby Chinatown community members held a meeting Tuesday to address safety concerns following a shooting early Sunday morning that left two men critically injured. The suspects, 23-year-old Bunton Ven and 24-year-old Alexio Carmello-Marquez, were apprehended after crashing the car they fled the scene in and were arraigned Wednesday.

After this Nation seen what was going on in Portland over the past couple three years of total destruction of the entire city by hack fuck wanna-be's...now the federal fucking government wants to fix it:

Biden attempts to drum up enthusiasm for infrastructure in Portland

President Joe Biden kicked off his West Coast media trip in Portland. During a press conference on Thursday, he delivered remarks on the investment that has been made at Portland International Airport thanks, in part, to the bipartisan infrastructure law.

Biden was introduced by Lauren Heitzman who had several jobs before she became an apprentice electrician with Local 48 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The President took the stage and attempted to drum up enthusiasm for the bipartisan infrastructure bill by bragging about how he wrote the original version with “his own paw.”

“Through the bipartisan infrastructure bill, which I might add I wrote the original one with my own paw, I wrote it…because I was convinced there was no other answer other than beginning to invest in our country again,” he stated.

Biden continued to explain his infrastructure plans, saying this year $25 billion will be invested to modernize airports across the country with Oregon getting $211 million in funds.

“Because of the infrastructure law we are going to see modern baggage claim area, improved taxiways and yes better escalators,” Biden continued.

However, some of the logistics of the bipartisan infrastructure law came into question when he suddenly appeared to lose his train of thought. Meanwhile, Biden continued his Pacific Northwest trip having arrived in Seattle, Washington on Thursday.

Yeah, let's not do anything for the infrastructure of our country, but if we do, the Republicans will take credit for it after voting against it.
