Buffalo Shooter Selected New York Due to Gun Control, Manifesto States
IN HIS MANIFESTO, THE BUFFALO SHOOTER STATES THAT HE SELECTED NEW YORK BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF OPPOSITION, DUE TO GUN CONTROL LAWS.

Buffalo Shooter Cites Gun Control in His Manifesto
To be clear, the manifesto has not been verified yet. However, media outlets are already using it to call for more gun control and decry white supremacy. Not to mention, law enforcement does believe it to be legitimate.

Newsweek reports, “According to the Buffalo News, law enforcement officials said that they believe an online manifesto was written by the suspected shooter, identified as [redacted]. In the manifesto, [the shooter] allegedly wrote about how he planned to “kill as many Blacks as possible” in the attack and decided to carry it out in New York due to its strict open carry gun laws, which would make it harder for someone to stop him, the Buffalo News reported.”

I redacted the shooter’s name because he doesn’t deserve the attention. If you would like to hear about someone deserving of attention in this situation, read about the security guard. He died a hero.

    Detailed Reasoning
The manifesto details the shooter’s entire plan, right down to what he was going to have for breakfast. Every move and every decision were very calculated. Right down to why he chose New York and the AR-15 to carry out his plan.

A recent TownHall article states, “In [the manifesto], he said New York was ideal given its restrictive gun laws, which meant there was a good chance his victims were sitting ducks or if they weren’t, hardly had the capacity to stop him.”

A recent tweet thread from independent journalist Tom Elliot includes screen captures of entries from the manifesto. In one entry, the shooter clearly states that New York’s gun laws make people easy targets. He also goes on to state that he used the AR-15 to garner media coverage.

In one entry the shooter states, “New York has cucked gun laws. Assault style weapons and high capacity magazines are illegal for civilians to own, thus lowering threats from law-abiding civilians.”

In addition he says, “The AR-15 and its variants are very deadly when used properly. Which is the reason why I picked one. High capacity magazines and ammunition that causes (enough) ballistic damage to kill effectively will be used. The AR-15 is readily accessible even in cucked New York, and after some modification will be able to effectively kill. Plus, the media loves to hate on the AR-15, which may increase media coverage and public outlash.”

    Emphasis mine.

    https://twitter.com/tomselliott/sta...eworld.com/2022/05/buffalo-shooter-manifesto/

Gun Control Policies Are a Failure
Everything about the shooting demonstrates the failure of gun control. Right down to the idea that magazine capacity is going to stop mass shootings. To be clear, the shooter is a teenager and even he knew how to illegally modify his rifle.

According to a snippet of the manifesto on New York Daily News, “Since I live in New York, I had to buy a cucked version of this before illegally modifying it,’’ [the shooter] wrote in an 80-page hate-filled manifesto detailing his views and his attack plan. “Since I live in cucked New York, and I am only 18, I can’t legally buy a lower or a standard ‘assault rifle.’”

People with intent to do harm will do harm. No law is going to stop them. In fact, the opposite is true. Gun control laws only help violent criminals perform their heinous acts, unopposed. This is precisely why they always target gun-free zones and why states with the most anti-Second Amendment laws are the ones with the most shootings overall.

But, this won’t stop gun control politicians from pushing for more of the same laws the shooter claims helped him. They are just going to keep doubling down and more lives will be lost.

They say, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing, over and over, and expecting different results.

Ah. So you want nirvana now. Perfection, where the lion lays with the lamb. No one ever gets hurt. Everyone is happy. Everyone shits roses and vanilla.
Sorry. So long as humans aren't perfect and society isn't perfect, bad shit will happen. So long as there are hunting rifles and hand guns, and weapons for home defense, and weapons for sport and weapons to collect, people will be murdered with them. The key is to minimize it without making something else worse.
(In Shooters opinion the wheels started coming off our particular paradise when the courts eviscerated the mental health laws, sometime in the 1960's. Since then we've seen more bad shit happening, more homeless living under freeway overpasses, beautiful places like San Francisco turned into shitholes, and more stupid, unnecessary deaths. But, that's probably a discussion for another time.)
Its Shooters opinion that we need, we must, address the hard issue of figuring out how to identify the nut jobs who want to shoot up a school, or a mall, or a sporting event. And we must disarm them and we must get them treatment to at minimum disabuse them of the idea that shooting people is the solution.

Nothing else will get it right.

Not an easy answer, is it?

Meanwhile, we do things like allow guns to be carried by adults in schools and elsewhere. We train better. We develop and practice things like "shelter in place" and have the discussion with the people we care for about what they can/should/will do if a shooter shows up.

We talk about why, when you think a friend, or neighbor, or family member is starting to talk in languages and caressing their guns, it's a good idea to report them and take away their guns.

And we talk about drugs. Yeah, marijuana is legal now in most places, and we see drug deaths increasing. Not from marijuana, but Shooter believes there is a connection and we need to discuss that.

Just banning guns, even "assault or military type" guns, won't work. Not in America, and not anywhere.

Leading cause of death for children in the United States is Guns, Nowhere else in the world is that true, and do you know why,? Because no other country has criminals or crazy people.
It is only the USA that has these people....

Read again V...E...R...Y... S...L...O...W...L...Y,the figures say the people killed are children including 18 & 19 year olds so they think an 18 & 19 year old is a child but still can be sent to war and sent to an ADULT PRISON. And by the way 17 year olds can enlist in some U.S. militares as in the ARMY, so now ask me how I know that.

Yep, up until 2019 motor vehicle deaths were the leading cause of death in people under 18 years of age. But then biden came to power and crime surged immediately to new levels..

Now of course you don't want to break this down in age groups or race because it would not fit your political agenda... However I will tell you this, these numbers are at an all time high because of youth violence age 14-18... The teenagers of today are acting more grown up with adult problems and social issues that 'kids' 30-40 years ago didn't have to deal with...

But that is just another problem liberals choose to ignore...

I'm trying to debate the issue without the heated lashing out, cursing and name calling. Of course, you're right, though. My neighbor is a good guy, friendly, and we have a beer and immediately start arguing. He's a Trump guy, but is willing to be fact checked. He makes some statement, I doubt it's validity, and he yells, "Look it up. Google it". I love when he says that. I reach for the laptop.

    40 year old shooter?
We gotta raise the age to buy a gun to 41!
What kind of gun was this asshole using? Whatever it was, we gotta ban that as well.
Oh, and lets make sure that going forward, all cars have to have bullet proof glass.
There. That will fix it, eh?

Real Talk: What Is the Best Firearm Training Advice You’ve Ever Received?
WHEN IT COMES TO FIREARM TRAINING, EVERYONE HAS ADVICE, SO WE TURNED TO YOU TO FIND OUT SOME OF THE BEST YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED.

(Photo by U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Daniel Edgington: WikiMedia Commons)

Whether you are in a training course or just on the gun range, you have probably heard some great advice. It seems that just about every gun owner has some pearl of wisdom to share. Whether it is shooting techniques or gun safety, everyone is a firearms instructor. Not that this is a bad thing, sharing knowledge is how we progress as a civilization. So, it’s time to share yours. What is the best firearm training advice you’ve ever heard?

The Best Firearm Training Advice You’ve Ever Received
In our latest Real Talk segment on Facebook, we reached out for some of the great advice you’ve heard over the years. And as with other Real Talk segments, you covered many great areas of the topic, for a well-rounded discussion.

    Safety and First Aid
Because I am an ardent supporter of firearm safety, I felt this was the best place to start. While a few here address some of the basic rules of safety, others address general safety and first aid considerations.

If we are going to start with firearm safety, we might as well start with the basics:

“Treat every [firearm] as if it is loaded.”

“The unloaded gun shoots the loudest.”

“Keep your booger hook off the bang bang switch till [you’re] ready to fire.”

“NEVER point a gun, whether you believe it to be loaded or not, at another human unless you intend to kill that person. A firearm is NOT a toy!”

Something tells me that there is a story here:

    “Carry a tourniquet.”

Speaking of safety, how much do you rely on your firearm’s mechanical safety? These readers don’t seem to be as comfortable about depending on them:

“Treat every gun like there is no safety. [Mine] has none so it’s handy advice. LoL.”

“Safety is something that [happens] between your ears, not something you hold in your hand.”

Bringing up the next generation to respect firearms. I am totally on board with this:

“Teach kids to respect guns and that they aren’t toys.”

I would personally like to add the importance of eye and ear protection. You only get one set of ears and eyes; you should do everything you can to take care of them.

    The Importance of Practice
If you are going to spend time on the shooting range, you might as well make the most of it. The importance of proper training and practice cannot be overstated. Likewise, if you take part in a training program, spending time practicing what you learn only solidifies the instruction.

I have to admit, although I have heard this before, I kind of forgot it. The statement is very profound and illustrates the importance of practicing the right way:

    “Practice makes permanent, not perfect.”

As with anything you do, you should do it with purpose. If you are going to take your time to do it, make it mean something:

    “Train with purpose.”

“Shooting is a process, not an event.”

Timing is everything and training for the possibility of a gunfight includes considering how fast things happen:

“‘Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything. In a gun fight[,] you need to take your time in a hurry.’ by Wyatt Earp.”

“Gun fights are won in millimeters and milliseconds.”

“Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.”

Getting out to the range is a great way to get better and faster. A good way to ensure that you are getting the most out of your training is to mimic real life scenarios where possible. Another great way to practice your aim is to get involved in competition shooting. Always look for opportunities.

    Be Intentional in Your Carry
Unfortunately, there are those who treat a firearm as a security blanket. They don’t go beyond the fact that it makes them feel safe to have their concealed carry permit and a firearm. But there are serious implications to carrying a firearm and potentially using it for self-defense.

Understand the seriousness of carrying a firearm and its potential use, as well as how best to use it:

“Don’t carry a gun unless you are prepared to use it.”

    “Aim for center mass.”

“Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice.”

Focus, intent, and drive rule the day. It is best not to get into a gunfight at all. But if you do, mind yourself and take steps to ensure success:

“Have a clear and calm head before you pull the trigger.”

“[The] gun goes where the eyes go.”

“If you are not shooting, you should be moving, if you are not moving, you should be making use of cover and reloading.”

“The best gun fight is the one you don’t have to fight; but if fight you must, fight to win till it’s over, then live another day.”

I would like to personally add an entry here. I remember learning years ago that any time you carry a gun and get into an altercation, there is a gun involved. That is something that has always stuck with me.

If you are carrying—or anytime, really—mind yourself. Do not let yourself be driven by emotion or ego. Always remain calm, cool, and collected, until it’s time not to be. But never be the reason there is an altercation because your firearm is involved. And some law enforcement agencies might even take that into consideration.

    Legal Considerations
I’ll be honest, I was a little surprised that only one person mentioned legal considerations. Anytime you carry anything with self-defense intent you should understand the laws in your state and local jurisdiction. Ignorance of the law isn’t a valid defense anywhere in the United States.

“Know and understand your [self-defense] laws.”

If you would like to learn more about the laws in your state, U.S. LawShield is a great resource. It also offers legal services to members. Likewise, it recently released downloadable guides for traveling with a firearm, with one for each state and a national guide.

Train hard but train safe. And, when the opportunity arises to share your wisdom with new shooters, go ahead and be “that guy.” You may save someone’s life.

I say this bewildered. I grew up among hunters, weekend shooters and no one i ever knew killed anyone. Growing up guns were much easier to get back then but no school shooters or mass shooters. We even had gun safety classes for young hunters in school. There is a problem not with the guns that have been around forever but with society. The same people that say get rid of police are the first to complain about lack of police when something happens. Abnormal seems to be the norm anymore and common sense is pushed aside.

Its all changed. If i disrespected my father like almost all kids in movies do now, id have a tombstone instead of a life. Single family environments just seem to produce a lot kids with emotional baggage. Growing up just about everyone i knew had a mom and dad and knew what spanking felt like ,ergo punishment for doing wrong. There were no participation trophies and only one winner . We learned the world did not revolve around our asses.

    On early morning radio a caller made a most valid point;
A commercial commuter flight crashed killing all 132 passengers and crew. indications are the pilot committed suicide and took his passengers and crew with him.
All of the focus and all of the questions are aimed at the pilot; why, how, who spotted his erratic behavior, what coulda woulda shoulda been done to stop him.
    No one blamed the plane.

An asshole enters a school and kills 19 kids and 2 teachers. Ever indication is that friends, family, neighbors all spotted this fuckers erratic behavior and expected he would eventually do something like this.
All the focus is on the gun he used; where he got it, why the greedy fuckers who sold it to him did that, how could a kid legally buy a gun that only kills, what coulda shoulda woulda been done to keep the gun out of this fuckers hands.
Why the cops didn't storm the room and kill this vermin, why did they wait an hour, who are the parents of these pigs who let this happen.
No one is holding the kid responsible.

Why, the caller asked. What is it about guns that gets such a visceral reaction?

So tell us, why with every other mass killing aren't despicables yammering to ground planes, or confiscate cars, or motorcycles or bats or knives or whatever else is used?
    Why only guns?

Not to worry Folks ! The AR-15 will soon lose popularity! The AR -15 will be replaced by a Civilian version of the M110A ! The AR will be dropped, as AR stood for Armalite!

The M110A is a Sig Saure 6.8, which is closer to the 7.62 ( .308 for hunters ) a more powerful round than the 5.56 that the AR-15 uses. M 16's will be replaced by the Sig's
with 6.8 rounds which will use plastic cases to cut down the heat. No more "Brass in the Grass" , maybe "Plastic up the ass", I don't know.

One thing for sure, the Sig will be the new rifle of choice for Veterans, and the AR will go out of style !
