I saw something that got my attention after the hearing. Someone in the press asked AG Merrick Garland if he was watching the J6 committee hearings and he said he watches them live when he can and records them to watch later if he can't watch them live. And then added he could assure us multiple US prosecutors were also watching every hearing.

That looks like a very broad hint that the DOJ is investigating Trump and his inner circle for seditious conspiracy

Exclusive: How the FBI lambasted 'dozens' of Trump’s stolen election claims

    Steven Rosenfeld
    June 13, 2022

President Donald Trump and U.S. Attorney General William Barr look on during a news conference in the Rose Garden at the White House on July 11, 2019, in Washington, D.C.. - Olivier Douliery/Abaca Press/TNS

This article was paid for by RawStory+ subscribers. Want to chip in more? Click here.

In the weeks after 2020’s election, the Department of Justice investigated and dismissed a catalog of stolen election claims that were “completely bogus and silly and usually based on complete misinformation,” and privately and repeatedly said so to then-President Donald Trump, William Barr, Trump’s attorney general, told the House’s January 6 Committee.
But Barr and other top DOJ officials who recounted telling Trump what was wrong about his persistent claims of illegal voters, forged ballots, and altered counts, not only said that Trump refused to believe them, but that he had become “detached from reality,” as Barr put it, and instead surrounded himself with conspiratorial opportunists led by Rudy Giuliani.

In short, Trump rejected multiple FBI investigations in battleground states based on hundreds of interviews – disclosed for the first time during the committee’s June 13 hearing. Instead, he used the stolen election narrative, to, among other things, to raise $250 million from his voters, funds that the committee found were given to loyalists who fanned the stolen election lie, such a $1 million to a foundation run by Mark Meadows, his former White House chief of staff.

“The big lie was also a big rip-off,” said Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-CA. “We found evidence that the Trump campaign and its surrogates misled donors as to where their funds would go.”

RELATED: Bill Barr is trying to 'launder his reputation' to House investigators — even though he 'enabled' Trump's plot: legal expert

However, the revelation that the Justice Department investigated stolen election claims and found nothing is a remarkable disclosure during the second hearing by the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, as federal prosecutors almost never publicly discuss investigations that do not bring charges. Those senior DOJ officials also lambasted Trump’s self-appointed election experts as “amateur” investigators and publicity hounds who knew little about how voting, voting systems, and vote counting work.

Just days before Barr resigned in mid-December 2020, he recounted a meeting with Trump where the president handed Barr a report – since repeatedly debunked, including by the GOP-majority Michigan senate – that claimed that votes had been electronically flipped from Trump to Joe Biden. (The bogus report’s authors included people who went on to lead the post-2020 review in Arizona and are still perpetuating conspiracies in Georgia). Barr, under oath said:

“He [Trump] held up the report, and then he asked that a copy of it be made for me. And while a copy was being made, he said, ‘You know, this is absolute proof that the Dominion [voting] machines were rigged. The report means that I’m going to have a second term.’ And then he gave me a copy of the report, and as he talked more and more about it, I sat there flipping through the report and looking through it. And to be frank, it looked very amateurish to me. It didn’t have the credentials of the people involved, but I didn'’t see any real qualifications. And the statements were made very conclusory like this, ‘These machines were designed to engage in fraud or something to that effect,’ but I didn’t see any supporting information for it. And I was somewhat demoralized because, I thought, ‘Boy, if he really believes this stuff, he has, you know, lost contact with… he’s become detached from reality…’ On the other hand, when I went into this, and would, you know, tell him how crazy some of these allegations were, there was never an indication of interest [by Trump] in what the actual facts were.”

READ: CBS busts Bill Barr for 'completely different' public remarks compared to Jan. 6 deposition

Barr was not the only senior DOJ official to describe the stolen election promoters as amateurs and propagandists. BJay Pak, the former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, who was appointed by Trump and resigned two days before the January 6 insurrection, described how his office investigated how a doctored video clip – purporting to show a stash of ballots being taken from under a table and mingled with other ballots – was false. He testified:

“Unfortunately, during the [Georgia] Senate hearing, Mr. Giuliani only played a clip that showed them pulling out the official ballot box from under the table and referring to that as a smoking gun of fraud in Fulton County. But, in actuality, and review of the entire video, it showed that was actually an official ballot box that would [properly be] kept underneath the tables. And we saw them pack up because [of] the announcement that they thought they were done for the night. And then once the announcement was made that you should continue counting, they brought the ballots back out and they continued to count… The FBI interviewed the individuals that are depicted in the videos, that purportedly double, triple counting of the ballots, and determined that nothing irregular happened in the counting and the allegations made by Mr. Giuliani were false.”

Richard Donahue, a former deputy acting attorney general, recounted in videotaped testimony that he repeated told Trump different stolen election scenarios were false. For example, there was no truckload of ballots smuggled into Pennsylvania. There was no 68 percent error rate in Michigan’s voting machines. There was no ballot box stuffing in Georgia.

“I said something to the effect of, ‘Sir, we’ve done dozens of investigations, hundreds of interviews. The major allegations are not supported by the evidence developed. We’ve looked at Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada. We’re doing our job. Much of the info you’re getting is false,” Donahue said. “We look at the allegations. But they don’t pan out.”

June 13’s hearing also featured videotaped testimony from top Trump campaign officials, from campaign manager Bill Stepien to campaign attorney Alex Cannon who also said that various election theft scenarios embraced by Trump were unfounded and conveyed that to him. An Arizona based claim that “thousands of illegal citizens” voted, Cannon said, turned out to be “overseas voters voting in the election; I obviously saw people who were eligible to vote.”

But Trump did not want to hear these views. He surrounded himself with people who kept repeating the election was stolen – loyalists who top DOJ and campaign officials debunked.

“I made it clear I did not agree with the idea of saying the election was stolen and putting out this stuff, which I told the president was bullshit,” Barr said. “I didn’t want to be a part of it.”

However, tens of millions of Republicans believed the words of their president and candidate, and several years after the 2020 election, still believe that it was stolen – even though Trump’s Justice Department and the FBI not only investigated and disproved those claims, but in sworn testimony to the January 6 committee, ridiculed the loyalists pretending to be investigators.

Bill Barr is a conundrum. He did things to hurt Trump (while DJT was still in office) that are only now are coming out, while at the same time he was also doing important things for the country.

The man's a perfect example of what happens when you try to split the middle when placating one side by, in essence, betraying the other.
He's outraged Trump supporters with his backstabbing comments (all to sell a book), yet will always remain reviled by the Left as Trump's "stooge."
The only people who view him favorably now are establishment Republicans (RINO's) and the seven remaining "moderate" Democrats in the country.
So instead of being hated or distrusted by only 45% of the country, pretty much 85% of America either hates him, questions his morals and principles, or is disgusted by him.

Most in new poll support legal action against elected officials who attempt to overturn election results
    [IMG]

The majority of Americans said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) should bring legal action against officials who mislead the public about the outcome of an election, according to a new poll from Morning Consult and Politico.

The poll showed that 42 percent of respondents “definitely” thought the DOJ should bring legal action against elected officials involved in misleading Americans, and 21 percent thought legal action should “probably” happen.

Sixteen percent said such legal action should “probably not” happen and 10 percent said it should “definitely not” happen. Eleven percent said they did not know or had no opinion.

The survey also indicated that 52 percent of respondents thought that an elected official’s attempt to overturn election results was “definitely” a crime. Another 17 percent said it was “probably” a crime.

Meanwhile, 11 percent said it was “probably not” a crime, 9 percent said it was “definitely not” a crime and another 11 percent did not know or had no opinion.

The poll results come as public hearings continue surrounding the work of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

In a daytime hearing on Monday, the committee made its case that then-President Trump was well aware the claims he was making about election fraud were false, highlighting testimony from advisers and former Attorney General William Barr recalling conversations in which they made that very point.

The committee has also promised to show how Trump’s peddling of the “Big Lie” that the election was stolen motivated the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 in an effort to block the certification of President Biden’s election victory.

The poll also asked respondents whether the DOJ should take action against “elected officials who have claimed that presidential elections are fraudulent without evidence” — 38 percent said the Justice Department should “definitely” take legal action and 17 percent said such action should “probably” happen.

The poll included 2,005 registered voters and was conducted between June 10 and June 12. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

They all knew. The White House, Trump's own campaign, Bill Barr, the DOJ, and Republican members of Congress. They all knew Trump's claims of voter fraud and a stolen election were bogus, idiotic, completely unfounded, nuts, to use some of their own words. They all knew Trump and lost and President Biden had won.

    And what was there reaction?

So what was the downside? An attack on the very foundations of our democracy, the Constitution, a deadly insurrection, and the first attempted coup in American History.

Trump was in fact and in deed plotting a seven point plan to keep President Biden from taking office while they "humored" him.

Which is why now all of them and the vast majority of "Republicans" are now treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans. They all had their chance to stand up for the United States of America, the Constitution, the ruled of law, and democracy and instead "humored" the worst traitor in American history.

New testimony will show how John Eastman continued his plots to overturn 2020 election even after January 6

    Matthew Chapman

    Rioters January 6th (AFP)

On Tuesday, POLITICO reported that the January 6 Committee has evidence that pro-Trump lawyer John Eastman continued pushing his schemes to overturn the 2020 presidential election — even after the attack on the U.S. Capitol had taken place.

"Trump White House attorney Eric Herschmann told the select committee — in video testimony revealed publicly Tuesday afternoon — that he received an unexpected phone call on Jan. 7, 2021, from John Eastman, the attorney who played an instrumental role in Trump’s last-ditch strategy to subvert the election," reported Kyle Cheney. "In Herschmann’s telling, Eastman immediately asked him about 'something dealing with Georgia and preserving something potentially for appeal.'"

“And I said to him, ‘Are you out of your f’ing mind?’” said Herschmann in the testimony. “I said, ‘I only want to hear two words coming out of your mouth from now on: orderly transition.’” According to Herschmann, Eastman eventually agreed to this after being pressed.

"The minute-long clip was primarily a teaser for Thursday’s hearing, which will feature testimony from at least two key allies of former Vice President Mike Pence: former counsel Greg Jacob and retired federal judge Michael Luttig," said the report. "Jacob spent the days before Jan. 6 helping Pence fend off pressure from Eastman to impede the transition of power on Jan. 6, when Pence was required to preside over a joint session of Congress to count electoral votes."

READ: 'Anything but impartial': Arizona election 'auditors' emails ‘reveal a tangle of partisanship, irony and deceit’

Eastman, who is currently under investigation by the California State Bar, was the legal brains behind a fringe theory that said if Republicans put forward fake slates of "alternate" electors in states President Joe Biden narrowly won, Pence could simply rule these states as having unclear results, not counting them at all and throwing the election to Trump with the only counted electors.

Legal experts have widely panned this plan as illegal, and even Eastman himself privately acknowledged it wasn't consistent with federal law.

Bill Barr is wrong not to debate. Laughing off and casually dismissing any evidence of massive cheating that might have gone on to get "Brandon" elected is exactly what the Deep State does.

At the same time, De Souza would do himself and his movie more good by actually releasing the names of some of these mules along with those of the non-profits he's claimed ran the scheme. This is something he has been promising “in a week” for two months now.

Dinesh D'Souza challenges Bill Barr to debate over '2000 Mules'
'Level of ignorance displayed by' former attorney general 'truly stunning'
    By Art Moore
    June 14, 2022 at 7:49pm

After watching Bill Barr laugh about the vote-fraud probe featured in "2000 Mules," the film's producer, Dinesh D'Souza, has challenged the former attorney general to a debate. Barr's reaction came in a video deposition featured in a hearing Monday by the House Select Committee on Jan. 6. "My opinion then, and my opinion now, is that the election was not stolen by fraud," Barr said. "And I haven't seen anything since the election that changes my mind, including the '2000 Mules' movie," he added before laughing.

D'Souza reacted on Twitter: "I'd like to invite Bill Barr to a public debate on election fraud. Given his blithe chuckling dismissal of #2000Mules this should be easy for him. What do you say, Barr? Do you dare to back up your belly laughs with arguments that can withstand rebuttal and cross-examination?"
The level of ignorance displayed by Bill Barr here is truly stunning. He doesn’t seem to understand the very concept of geotracking. I’ll address this in detail on my podcast tomorrow https://t.co/zfEWm5gVCx
    — Dinesh D'Souza (@DineshDSouza) June 13, 2022

The True the Vote investigators used cellphone location data and surveillance video to uncover what they describe as a highly coordinated operation in key battleground states carried out by left-wing groups that collected mail-in ballots and paid "mules" to stuff them in unattended drop boxes, typically in the middle of the night.

Barr argued in his deposition that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was "unimpressed" with the geotracking evidence. The GBI director said in a letter in September to True the Vote investigator Gregg Phillips, a data analyst and election intelligence specialist, that the data "while curious, does not rise to the level of probable cause that a crime has been committed."

Barr was less judicious, testifying that the "cellphone data is singularly unimpressive." "I mean, basically, if you take 2 million cellphones and figure out where they are in a big city like Atlanta or wherever, just by definition you are going to find that many hundreds of them have passed by and spent time in the vicinity of these boxes," he said. "And the premise if you go by five boxes or whatever it was that that's a mule is just indefensible."

True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht reacted to Barr's comments in an interview Monday with "War Room." Engelbrecht said Barr never reached out to True the Vote to find out what the group had discovered before coming to a judgment. "We are perilously close to losing that which binds us together, that free and fair vote," she told Steve Bannon.

"I'm disappointed to see Bill Barr do it (but) not surprised," she said. "It's been our experience with law enforcement to this point."

Engelbrecht said that with state and federal law enforcement officials "proving to be absent," True the Vote will be working with sheriffs across the country who already are following up on the evidence.

See Engelbrecht's remarks: In a "fact check," the Associated Press concluded the True the Vote analysis was "flawed" because cellphone tracking isn't accurate enough. D'Souza argued Monday on Twitter that for an alleged "mule," or ballot trafficker, to be counted, the threshold was to have visited 10 different drop boxes during the election cycle. "Is there anyone competent in cell phone geotracking who will defend what Bill Barr said?" D'Souza asked. "He insists that random people in a busy city going past ballot dropboxes cannot be distinguished from mules who each go on routes and stop specifically at 10 or more dropboxes. Is this true?"

True the Vote also obtained 4 million minutes of surveillance footage from drop boxes via public records requests.

Is there anyone competent in cell phone geotracking who will defend what Bill Barr said? He insists that random people in a busy city going past ballot dropboxes cannot be distinguished from mules who each go on routes and stop specifically at 10 or more dropboxes. Is this true?

No one needs Bill Barr to point out just how ridiculous 2,000 Mules is. It is simply laughable to anyone who isn't a blind brainwashed Traitor Trump cult follower. It is nothing more than another scam to rip off the rubes, tell them what they want to hear, and keep the Big Lie going.

When it was revealed in the J6 committee hearing that Traitor Trump ran a scam getting his cult followers to donate to a legal defense fund that does not exist and actually spending the money on himself and his associates the question was asked will the DOJ investigate this. And the answer was maybe but no one will be waiting on the DOJ. Because state AG's will also see the obvious fraud and do their own investigations.

And the New York AG, Letitia James, is the best I've ever seen. Whether its Trump or the NRA she wins every time.

New York AG Looking to Probe Trump’s $250M in ‘Big Lie’ Donations: Report

New York Attorney General Letitia James plans to investigate the $250 million in donations received by former President Donald Trump after he began claiming the 2020 election was stolen in the months following Joe Biden’s victory, according to Insider. A source close to the attorney general told the outlet that James, in searching for potential campaign fraud, would be able to claim jurisdiction through any New York donors. The report comes hours after James tweeted out a cryptic warning in response to the “disturbing” new details revealed on Monday night by the select House panel investigating the Capitol riot. “It’s my duty to investigate allegations of potential misconduct in New York,” James wrote. “This incident is no exception.” She did not immediately elaborate. A probe into “Big Lie” fraud would branch off from James’ long and ongoing investigation into the Trump Organization, about which she received authorization to depose the former president last week. On Tuesday night, New York’s highest court killed a last-ditch effort by Trump and his family to dodge testifying.

Bill was charged with perjury and obstruction of justice.
He plead guilty to reduced charge that included suspension of his law license and a $90,000 fine.
He was impeached for lying to the grand jury and was not convicted.

Bill is in fact convicted of a crime. The distinction might be beyond your comprehension but it doesn't change the facts.
