Really? They hired a person who appears to be just out of high school as a campaign manager? And then they are surprised that he doesn't know what he's doing?

As well as threatening to seeded from the US even though more Americans died in the Civil War than any other war we have fought to make that illegal. That is how much they hate the United States of

Former Oath Keeper Van Tatenhove explores group's 'military mindset' ready for 'civil war'

Appearing on CNN" " New Day" on Wednesday morning, former Oath Keeper spokesperson Jason Van Tatenhove elaborated on his testimony before the House select committee investigating the Jan 6th insurrection and talked about the "civil war" his former colleagues would like to see in the U.S.

On Tuesday the former rightwing militia member said of Donald Trump and Oath Keepers head Stewart Rhodes, "The president was communicating, whether directly or indirectly, messaging that gave him the nod,” about the Capitol riot.

That led to an interesting exchange with CNN's Brianna Keilar during the Wednesday morning interview with Van Tatenhove's attorney also in attendance.

"I do want to ask you, you talked there about this prospect of Trump whipping up his supporters into a civil war and you also talked during your testimony about the oath keepers and how they're prepping for a new civil war," host Keillar began. "What would that look like? What do the Oath Keepers prep for?"

"Well, you know, military training has always been a part of it, it's always encouraged," he replied. "Weapons -- carrying of weapons, it was a military mindset, it was very much trying to create this narrative that they were this paramilitary organization amongst the members."

"But specifically, I mean, what would a civil war look like in their minds?" she pressed.

"Well, you know, I don't know how far they've gotten into the end game thoughts on that, but i think what we saw on January 6 is certainly very much how it would look to start out because i think we came very, very close to having a civil war kick off on January 6th," he explained.

The great United States, is being torn apart by the government, over power and money. For as smart as the founders of this country were, to know and warn of this corruption, the masses are to blinded by self righteousness to see it. But hey it was fun while it lasted, the future never looked so, well why be a spoiler, just trust, you ain't seen nothing yet.

A screenshot of the Trump Platinum Membership tier produced by National Republican Senatorial Committee fundraisers.Insider

    • GOP fundraisers cook up all kinds of titles to hook campaign donors.

    • Whether they confer any actual VIP status is immaterial in the eyes of the government.

    • No one enforces "truth or falsehood in political speech," campaign officials told Insider.
The race to bestow make-believe titles on Republican donors is heating up as 2022 midterm election fundraising blasts pour into Americans' inboxes free of facts.

The government's generally hands-off approach to policing political emails allows groups such as the National Republican Senatorial Committee to dangle fanciful "diamond," "platinum" and other VIP-sounding membership tiers — Insider identified a dozen such offerings just within the past month — while fishing for campaign contributions.

It doesn't matter if donor X actually gets special treatment by throwing money at the NRSC to become a "Trump Majority Strategist" or founding member of the "America First Society," a former federal official explained, because nobody actually checks to see if there's any actual follow-thru.

"There's no agency of the government that monitors the veracity of political messaging," Saurav Ghosh, a former enforcement attorney at the Federal Election Commission turned director of federal campaign finance reform at the Campaign Legal Center, told Insider.

He said the FEC focuses on tracking money flowing through political operations but has "no jurisdiction over truth or falsehood in political speech."

If anyone could separate fact from fiction in political emails, Ghosh said it would be the Federal Communications Commission. But he noted that the FCC has historically steered clear of restricting political speech.

"The scale, if anything, is tilted towards that's protected by the First Amendment," Ghosh said. "So it's something government agencies can't regulate — unless it's fraudulent."

A current FEC aide directed Insider to rules about properly identifying who paid for or authorized a political ad and prohibiting "fraudulent misrepresentation" so a candidate can't pose as another and wreak havoc.

But they conceded that "there aren't really any other FEC rules that address the content of messaging or ads." DOJ officials did not respond to requests for comment about criminally investigating bogus claims in campaign emails.

    Caveat emptor
Is it wrong to promise some sort of exclusivity to an individual who clicks through on a limited-time offer in order to claim their status in some trumped-up hierarchy of giving? Especially when a digital timer that appears within the email magically resets whenever the URL is refreshed — so, really, there's no time limit at all.

Or has being bombarded with blatant lies numbed the electorate to the non-stop nonsense?

"I think most people would look at that as not even fraud," Ghosh said of the them's-the-breaks attitude that shrouds modern politics.

Democratic Party committees are hardly innocent when it comes to marketing ploys. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, for example, recently blasted out a "FINAL MEMBERSHIP NOTICE" with a breathless plea for $3, or "our chances of protecting and expanding our House Majority could PLUMMET."

The DCCC does not operate a formal membership program in a traditional sense, and a small-dollar donation itself does not earn a contributor a promotional item — tote bag! Downton Abbey Blu-ray set! — that one might expect from, say, becoming a public television supporter.

But of late, Republicans are in their own league.

Since June 13, the Trump-centric NRSC has floated no fewer than 12 seemingly prestigious offerings for online donors, including: Diamond Trump Patriot; Trump Platinum Membership; The Official America First Society; Official Trump NRSC Advisory Board; Official Trump Majority Member; Trump Majority Strategist; NRSC Trump Club; Trump Majority Donor Board; Gold Trump Patriot; Trump Focus Group; Trump Supporter; and Trump Priority List.

Many of the NRSC's solicitations share a similar sense of urgency — "you are only one gift away from joining," "chip in any amount and you'll unlock this prestigious title".

A few mention particular benefits, such as "confidential election-year strategy memos" for America First Society Members or "access to TOP America First Senators" for the Trump Supporter clique. Others keep things deliberately vague, such as an email promising an "exclusive gift" to the Gold Trump Patriot crew.

Whether hawking Trump-branded pint glasses — the former president famously doesn't drink — or Kellyanne Conway's underperforming memoir, every email includes boilerplate language asking for money, additional contact information, and warns that time is running out to contribute.

"People want to get some sort of recognition," Ghosh said of all the faux flattery flying around in the political fundraising world.

NRSC aides did not respond to requests for comment about requirements to join any of the groups, exclusive perks associated with the various tiers, or if any category is outpacing the others.

Might the FEC, which regulates and enforces the nation's campaign finance laws, attempt to do something about this?

    That's unlikely.

The agency, which this week was named one of the worst places in the federal government to work by the nonprofit Partnership for Public Service and Boston Consulting Group, has struggled for years to agree on even the most basic regulations governing political committees' digital outreach.

If anything, the FEC may make it easier for politicians to email you: It's actively considering a request by Google to let political committees circumvent Gmail's current spam filters.

A Trump fan got widespread sympathy after his garage was burned and defaced with 'Biden 2020' graffiti. Prosecutors say he did it himself in a $300K insurance scam.

    • Prosecutors said a Minnesota man faked a politically motivated attack in an insurance scam.
    • They said Dennis Molla sprayed pro-Biden and BLM graffiti on his garage then set it on fire.
    • He sought a $300,000 insurance payout plus GoFundMe donations, an indictment said.
A Trump supporter falsely claimed his garage was burned by left-wing extremists in a $300,000 insurance-scam attempt, federal prosecutors say.

Dennis Molla, of Minnesota, set his own garage on fire after scrawling it with graffiti of an anarchy symbol, BLM, and Biden 2020 during the last presidential election campaign, according to an indictment reviewed by Insider. Prosecutors said Molla wanted to defraud insurers by claiming he had been politically targeted.

His story gained widespread sympathetic media coverage as he described discovering that his home had been attacked.

On September 23, 2020, Molla told CBS Minnesota that he awoke early that morning to "a loud boom, or a bang" outside his home and saw three people running away.

The outlet cited a police report that said Molla's garage, car, and three other vehicles were on fire.

Molla had been flying Trump 2020 flags at the property, he told CBS. He told police that the attack was politically motivated and referred to it as a "hate crime" in his insurance claim, court documents say.

"For them to see me express my beliefs as a Republican, it's crazy to think it came down to this," he told the Star-Tribune newspaper.

In his indictment, prosecutors said: "In reality, as Molla well knew, Molla started his own property on fire, Molla spray painted the graffiti on his own property, and there were no unknown males near his home."

Molla was charged with wire fraud over his false insurance claims and two fundraisers in his name.

According to the indictment, he made multiple insurance claims totaling $300,000. The company rejected some but paid out $61,000, it said.

In response, according to the document, Molla threatened to report the insurance company to authorities.

He also raised $17,000 in donations from two GoFundMe fundraisers, the indictment said. Two fundraisers matching that description were still online Wednesday (here is the first and the second). They both have a message of thanks purporting to be from Molla, dated November 2020.

Molla's story came at the height of the 2020 presidential campaign, when conservative media focused on issues of left-wing violence.

The story got widespread attention on Fox News, CBS News, and The New York Post.

Though it was reported by those newsrooms as an unproven set of allegations, Fox News host Laura Ingraham, speaking the day after the purported attack, viewed the matter as settled.

"This is a message being sent by the far left, and I think people are beginning to see that arsonist behavior, looting, even murder — none of it is off the table," she said.

Her guest, the conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, said: "We all know that if this were right-wingers performing this kind of violence, Joe Biden would be out there on the front lines proclaiming that right-wing ideology was innately linked to violence and cruelty."

Thanks @thinskin. The Lincoln Project continues to put out some of the most powerful videos in the war against Trump and treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans. And how do we know most of them knew they were committing treason and an attempted coup. By how many of them ran to Trump begging for pardons after J6.

Only to be bitten again by Trump's literal and clinical mental illness where his decisions are based on who he talks to last. Because Trump did dangle pardons for not just the treasonous conservative/America Hating/ Republicans in Congress but also for the domestic terrorists that stormed the Capitol. But the last one he talked to was White House counsel Pat Cipollone who told him issuing pardons would only result in him being charged with obstruction of justice and he would not have the protection of being president to avoid being charged. So Trump just walked away leaving them twisting in the wind.

Well of course just like they did in 2009 when the Republicans killed a report of right wing extremism in the military. They have to look out for their supporters.

House Republicans Vote Against Tackling White Supremacy In Military and Law Enforcement

U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), joined by lawmakers and family members of January 6th insurrectionist prisoners, speaks during a press conference on the House January 6 Committee hearings at the U.S. Capitol on June 15, 2022, in Washington, DC.

The House passed an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act to push government officials to report instances of white supremacy among the military and law enforcement ranks, The Hill reports. Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.)’s sponsored measure made it through with a 218-208 party-line vote that saw every House Republican vote against it. 20% of participants arrested for involvement in the Jan. 6th Capital riot are military veterans. A Reuters investigation also found a high number of police instructors have ties to right-wing militias and white supremacist hate groups.

This amendment would require the FBI director, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the secretary of Defense to publish a report analyzing White supremacist and neo-Nazi activity within their ranks and present ways to root it out of the respective organizations.

It also calls for a number count of people who were discharged due to white supremacist activity and requires the government to create a report showing ways how to combat Neo-Nazism within these career choices.

There will be a 180-day deadline for this to be completed and submitted to congressional committees. Unclassified portions would also be made public. Rep. Schneider spoke about the increase in domestic terrorism in the U.S. and how this resolution will be one way to see how bad it is.

“This bill helps do that in a simple, effective way. It’s not complicated,” he said during debate on the House floor. “It simply adds a tool to the tool belt of law enforcement all across the country, regardless of their size or location, to be used voluntarily.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), known for his election meddling efforts and one of the 23 Republicans who voted against an anti-bigotry resolution in 2019, claimed the measure “denigrates” law enforcement personnel.

“This amendment attempts to create a problem where none exists by requesting investigations into law enforcement and the armed services for alleged rampant white supremacists or white national sympathies,” he said.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), currently on the Jan. 6th House select committee, also voted against the amendment despite everything she’s seen in the investigation. After the full NDAA passes this week, the House and Senate will conference. At that point, this resolution can still be taken out.

Kentucky GOP group faces furious backlash over shocking antisemitic statement

A social media post from a Kentucky Republican group is the subject of backlash due to its antisemitic language, WVLT reports.

The since-deleted post, shared to Facebook by the Bracken County Republican Party, referred to Steve Dettelbach -- the new director of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives -- as part of the “Jewish junta.”

In a post to the party's Facebook page, Bracken County GOP chair Karin Kirkendol declared that the post "does not represent the values of the Bracken County Republican Party."

"It was incredibly insensitive. We will investigate how this occurred and we commit to tighter oversight of our social media going forward," Kirkendol said.

IN OTHER NEWS: Steve Bannon's podcast declares him guilty as he sits at trial for contempt

But the chair of the Kentucky Jewish Council, Rabbi Shlomo Litvin , isn't buying the apology.

“Regardless of where it came from, it was posted on their page. They now have a responsibility to stand with anyone who can read and say the idea that Jews are running the government is a fake antisemitic trope that has no basis in reality,” said Litvin.

“From the attempted assassination of a member of the Jewish community running for mayor in Louisville, to cries of ‘Jew them down’ in the state, to an op-ed in the Courier-Journal saying that the Jews are faking antisemitism...and now this. An accusation from a local republican party that Jews are running the government,” he continued.

According to The Informant journalist Nick Martin, the statement was copied from a post made by neo-Nazi activist Joseph Jordan. "Neo-Nazi Joseph Jordan (aka 'Eric Striker') and his friends are now bragging over the ordeal," Martin noted.

State Sen. Karen Berg, a Democrat representing Louisville and the only Jewish member of the state legislature, also denounced the statement.

She told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the fact a GOP county representative "felt emboldened enough to post this on social media is a sign of a rise in extremism and hatred that has dangerous repercussions for our society."

"I am so tired of this," Berg added.

QAnon tour booted out of Rochester venue after furious uproar from locals: report

On Monday, the Democrat & Chronicle reported that the "ReAwaken America Tour," a traveling event studded with prominent QAnon adherents, has been kicked out of its planned venue in Rochester, New York on August 12 and 13, following anger from locals.

The group had planned to hold their event at the Main Street Armory.

"In an email distributed Monday, venue owner Scott Donaldson wrote, '(In response) to the outpour(ing) of concern from our community, both good and bad, I have decided after careful thought to cancel The ReAwaken America Tour that was scheduled for August 2022,'" reported Marcia Greenwood. "Last week, Grammy-nominated indie-pop band Japanese Breakfast announced it was cancelling a Sept. 27 show at the Armory over its decision to host the ReAwaken America event, featuring Michael Flynn and Roger Stone, both advisors to former President Donald Trump."

READ: Steve Bannon pledged he'd go 'medieval' at his trial — but it hasn't turned out that way

"Also on the ReAwaken America speakers list: Dr. Stella Immanuel, who has posted videos claiming that doctors make medicine using DNA from aliens, and Scott McKay and Gene Ho, who have links to the false QAnon conspiracy theory about a global child molestation and sacrifice ring being led by prominent Democratic politicians," noted the report.

Flynn, the former National Security Adviser to Donald Trump, has in recent years sunk deeply into the QAnon movement, attending many of their conferences. At once such event last year, Flynn agreed with an attendee that the United States needs a violent military coup of the type that happened in Myanmar — though he later tried to deny saying this.

Stone, another longtime ally of Trump, is currently facing intense scrutiny from the House Select Committee on January 6, as a link between Trump's inner circle and far-right paramilitary groups like the Proud Boys.

Minnesota Republican outraged that 'our culture' tells women 'they should have careers'

    J. Patrick Coolican, Minnesota Reformer
    July 19, 2022

Even though abortion remains legal in Minnesota due to a 1995 state Supreme Court precedent, the issue continues to shape the 2022 governor’s race, with Gov. Tim Walz’s reelection campaign set to hammer likely GOP opponent Scott Jensen and his running mate Matt Birk on the issue Tuesday.

Newly released video shows Birk speaking to a national anti-abortion group in Georgia on the day in June when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade: “Our culture loudly but also stealthily promotes abortion. They’re telling women they should look a certain way. They should have careers, all these things.”

(It’s unclear from the video clip what the relationship is between “the culture” promoting abortion and promoting women in the workforce. What is clear: If women stopped working, Minnesota’s economy would collapse. Just before the pandemic, women made up 51.5% of the Minnesota labor force.)

In the same speech, Birk, a Harvard graduate who played professional football, made remarks about rape and abortion that are also likely to draw the ire of many voters. Nearly two-thirds of Minnesota Republicans support the right to abortion for victims of rape and incest, according to a recent MinnPost poll that showed broad support for abortion rights.

Birk dismissed abortion rights activists who oppose abortion bans that do not allow exceptions for race and incest. “One of the arguments I probably saw 20 times online today was about rape. And obviously they always want to go to the rape card.”

He added: “Rape is obviously a horrible thing. But an abortion is not gonna, it’s not gonna heal the wounds of that. And, and two wrongs is not gonna, is not gonna make it right.”

Birk also echoed the sentiments of many anti-abortion activists who have long equated their fight to the abolitionists’ battle to end slavery.

“A lot of things have been legal before that we’ve changed, right? I mean, we always hear about the — I know I’m talking to a bunch of pro-life warriors here — slavery used to be legal, right?” Birk said. “Which is an interesting comparison to make, because, really, the way that the other side treats an unborn child is the unborn child is the property of the mother.”

Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan is expected to respond at a Tuesday news conference.
