Hi TM. Yea it seems to be a quirk of the system. If you go into edit mode more than a few times, the "publish" option becomes the only choice. In my experience, once that happens you are in the queue waiting to be reviewed. If the story is not ready, you can select edit from your "my stories" screen and make additional changes. Each time you edit it will go back to the beginning of the review queue. From what I've seen, a story can take anywhere from 2 to 7 days to be published. Hope this helps.

 

Yes, that definitely helps. I intentionally tried to keep it in "continue to edit" just to make a few last little adjustments. And then it changed automatically. But now that I am aware of it, I will just be more careful to try to get it right the first time. Thanks for the advice. Seems like an odd quirk for this type of site, but I'll just work around it.

 

One more question. Once they do actually publish, do they send you and email, or is there some sort of notice? Or does it just change from "Edit" mode to "View" mode?

 

No email or notice. It just changes status and becomes visible for others to read. I call it my weekly surprise after I've waited days and then suddenly see one of my stories go live.

Yeah I didn't get it either I'm not a writer I just enjoy reading the stories but it's driving me nuts that I can't just go back and reread my favorites but hey, when I do get back on being able to save again I'll give your stories a little read

 

There are a couple reasons, and @MarieJames gave you a good one. Another is it ensure you're not a one-hit wonder, spamming the site one day then bagging it for another site tomorrow. If you pay attention, you're only allowed to make 5 posts a day until you hit a total of 16 - which means you have to return. As for the requirement for 6, it's something the Admins chose to get the member to return to the site the 2nd day.

You do realize, you do NOT have to submit your story to the stories.xnxx.com site - you can just put them here, in the Forum >> Sex Stories thread. You'll get quicker response and can use the thread to fine tune the story before you submit it to the other site.

 

It depends on where it is in the queue. I would have recommended you submit Part 1 and wait for it to post before submitting Part 2, but… being an engineer, I tend to be logical like that.

 

They are, EXCEPT.....Part one could be temporarily blocked by the admins due to content. You can explain these, or make a change to make the story acceptable. However, in the mean time, Part 2 could fly through and be published, much to the confusion of your readers. It's happened. That's why it is suggested that you wait until a chapter is published before submitting the next.

 

I would NOT recommend it. Site admins frown on advertising other sites that might be considered competitors. Patreon isn’t really, but… why take the chance?

Also, if you want feedback on the already written segments, post them here. They go up immediately and you don’t have to worry about down voting.

 

No worries. Next time, though, to return a reply to someone who replied directly to your post, just hit Comment (this is one). Using +Multiquote just copies the original post, not the Comments underneath.

 

You could try the internet archive's wayback machine. They periodically backup the internet, so if your stories have been available to the general public for some time, chance has it you can find a copy in their archives.

 

Appreciate the advice. I should have been more clear. I still have the story, so it isn't an issue to repost and start over. I just wondered if Support could actually reverse my accident so that I didn't have to start over and lose the 'reads' and 'votes' that I had already received. It had only been posted for a day, so it isn't a big deal. Just a waste of a week from my carelessness.

 

Keep in mind, you can post them here (in this thread), too. No wait on publishing.

 

Unfortunately this became common practice the past 6 months with changes made to supposedly stop spamming. Instead is seems to suppress positive votes so that you end up with more stories in the 80-90 (and lower) range.

 

It's definitely frustrating. Since that initial round of negative votes, all of the rest have been positive and the number is going up. The average is up over 60% for the most part now. But I am sure it has slowed readership, which is unfortunate. I find it odd that of the 4 chapters that I have posted, Chapter 3 only has half as many reads as the other three. I can't figure out why anyone would read the first 2 chapters and then skip the 3rd, and then read the 4th.

Appreciate your feedback and I am curious if any other writers out there are experiencing something similar.

Guess needed a comment vs reply lol. One biggest critique of this site is their UI is clunky.

 

Couldn't agree more. I find it hard to navigate. Especially between the stories list and the email system.
