The desperation grows. Almost 5 days after the FBI raid, and still Trump walks free among us.
    Investigations continue.
    Something will surface, right?
Trump will still give us our perp walk, right?

Patience, my man. It takes time to inventory 13 boxes of documents, present the results to higher decision makers, figure out what to do next...just be happy to have the material back in safe hands or refer the evidence on to prosecutors. The public can stomp its collective feet and whine for transparency but at this point we don't get to satisfy our need for dirt. He took the 5th yesterday 440+ times for good reason (its only money, ala Trump Univ. and Stormy, etc. etc. etc) but next time might be criminal...just you wait!! (haha).

This is actually one of the leading theories right now. The National Archives and DOJ have been trying for months to make Trump hand over all the documents, including top secret material that created a serious national security threat, he stole from the White House. And Trump and his lawyers went through the motions of returning "everything." But someone very close to Trump told the FBI they were lying about that and Trump was still in possession of a very large amount of classified material. So that proved Trump could not be trusted and they needed a search warrant to go in and get the classified material before it got leaked or destroyed.

Also consider this. Trump is trying to lie his way out of it saying he declassified all that material before he left the White House. Which is just another lie. Neither Trump nor anyone in the White House actually went through the required procedure. Trump is not a king with a magic wand he can just wave and say declassified so all that material is still classified.

But the classified material is only part of Trump's theft. The other part is letters and thousands of other documents that are required by the Presidential Records Act to be handed over to the National Archives. None of that belongs to Trump. All of it belongs to the American people. So Trump is trying to steal all that from us. And that might be ok with treasonous conservative/America Hating Republicans who hate the country and only worship Trump. But its sure as fuck not ok with me and the majority of the American people. Trump is not some fucking king or Chosen One that is above the law.

Its really funny how this is coming about. John Solomon proved he is noting but a right wing false propaganda pushing hack. But being so he has deep connections into Trump world and maybe still
Trump himself. So the part about the FBI trying to subpoena the material is probably right. Killing the other right wing false propaganda talking point that the FBI just got some wild hair up their ass and raided Mar a Lago when they could have used other ways to get the classified material back, Bullshit. The DOJ tried the other ways and Trump was still lying and concealing classified material.

It is also incredibly important to take note this is not some dispute between Trump and the FBI. Trump is thumbing his nose and defying a GRAND JURY. No one gets away with that. The don't call them Grand Juries for nothing.

DOJ served Trump subpoena for classified docs months before FBI raid: report

The U.S. Dept. of Justice served Donald Trump with a grand jury subpoena months before the FBI raided the former President’s Mar-a-Lago home Monday, according to a right wing media outlet.

News of the existence of the grand jury subpoena being served on Trump months ago comes from Just the News, a website created by John Solomon. Solomon is a longtime journalist who in 2019 was labeled by The Daily Beast as “the Trumpian right’s favorite ‘investigative reporter,'” and the “Trump-friendly scribe” whose “Biden-Ukraine conspiracies were cited multiple times in the whistleblower memo.”

“Many of his co-workers are ashamed to be associated with him,” The Daily Beast reported, citing “his questionable reporting, which often seems specifically tailored to stoke the flames of right-wing paranoia.”

Solomon on Thursday writes: “Two months before his Florida home was raided by the FBI, former President Donald Trump secretly received a grand jury subpoena for classified documents belonging to the National Archives, and voluntarily cooperated by turning over responsive evidence, surrendering security surveillance footage and allowing federal agents and a senior Justice Department lawyer to tour his private storage locker, according to a half dozen people familiar with the incident.”

    If accurate, that’s news.

“Very clearly not the intention of that John Solomon article, but it inadvertently reflects very well upon the Justice Department,” NBC News Justice reporter covering the DOJ, Ryan J. Reilly observes. “A subpoena was issued to the former president of the United States and it held for nearly three months, until Trump’s own team publicly disclosed it!”

National security and civil liberties journalist Marcy Wheeler adds: “Here’s what propagandist John Solomon says FBI had reason to believe Trump didn’t turn over in the original 15 box collection of stolen documents: Correspondence with foreign leaders.”

She points to this section of Solomon’s article:

“The subpoena requested any remaining documents Trump possessed with any classification markings, even if they involved photos of foreign leaders, correspondence or mementos from his presidency.”

According to multiple news outlets, FBI agents carted away an additional 10 to 12 cartons on Monday, in addition to the 15 the National Archives was forced to travel to Mar-a-Lago to retrieve earlier this year.

Even Rupert Murdoch’s Trump-friendly New York Post on Tuesday reported a “showdown over the materials first erupted back in January when the National Archives said it had retrieved 15 boxes of White House records — including classified information — from Mar-a-Lago that Trump should have turned over when he left office. The feds took another 12 boxes of material on Monday.”

Merrick Garland: DOJ asks judge to unseal Mar-a-Lago search warrant

Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday that the Justice Department had filed a motion to unseal a search warrant and property receipt from the FBI’s recent search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

Garland announced the motion at a press conference, marking his first public statement about the matter since Trump publicly confirmed the search at his Florida residence on Monday evening.

Although he declined to answer questions or provide any further details about the search, Garland said that he “personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter,” adding, “The department does not take such a decision lightly.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland speaks at the Justice Department on Thursday in Washington, D.C. (Susan Walsh/AP)
Garland said that the search warrant “was authorized by a federal court upon the required finding of probable cause," and that copies of both the warrant and the FBI property receipt “were provided on the day of the search to the former president's counsel, who was on site during the search.”

According to multiple reports, the raid was related to an investigation into Trump's potential mishandling of classified documents. In May, a federal grand jury began investigating whether he had mishandled top-secret documents, including taking 15 boxes of material to the Florida resort.

Monday’s raid was first reported by Florida Politics — which said the FBI had executed a search warrant and left the premises — minutes before Trump posted his statement about it to his social media site, Truth Social.

“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida is currently under siege, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in his statement. Without evidence, he decried the search as “prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by the Radical Left Democrats who desperately don't want me to run for President in 2024."

Garland said Thursday that the search warrant “was authorized by a federal court upon the required finding of probable cause."

Nevertheless, Trump’s outrage quickly reverberated across the right, as Republican lawmakers and conservative commentators jumped to the former president’s defense, echoing his claims of persecution and calling for the FBI to be dismantled.

It didn’t take long for some of the rhetoric around the Mar-a-Lago raid to turn violent. Within hours of Trump’s statement announcing the raid, social media users from Twitter to more fringe platforms like Gab and Telegram were issuing calls for civil war and vowing to take up arms.

At Thursday’s press conference, Garland sought to address what he called “recent unfounded attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors.”

“I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked,”
Garland said. "The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated, patriotic public servants. Every day they protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism and other threats to their safety, while safeguarding our civil rights. They do so at great personal sacrifice and risk to themselves.

“I am honored to work alongside them,” he added.

Federal judge: DOJ has until 3 p.m. Friday to confim whether Trump supports unsealing raid warrant.
A federal judge Thursday gave the Justice Department until 3 p.m. Friday to certify whether former President Donald Trump supports or opposes unsealing the warrant and property receipt from the FBI's search of his Mar-a-Lago home Monday.

"The United States shall immediately serve a copy of its Motion on counsel for former President Trump," Magestrate Judge Bruce Reinhard wrote in an order on the DOJ's motion to unseal the warrant and property receipt. "On or before 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on August 12, 2022, the United States shall file a certificate of conferral advising whether former President Trump opposes the Government's motion to unseal."

The order came shortly after Attorney General Merrick Garland addressed the raid on Trump's home foor the first time since it happened. Garland said he personally signed off on the search warrant for the raid, and that the Justice Department aims to make more information about it public.

"Just now, the Justice Department has filed a motion in the Southern District of Florida to unseal a search warrant and property receipt relating to a court-approved search that the FBI conducted earlier this week," Garland said. "That search was a premises located in Florida belonging to the former president."

Garland added: "The department filed the motion to make public the warrant and receipt in light of the former president's public confirmation of the search, the surrounding circumstances and the substantial public interest in this matter."

Merrick Garland's Presser Suggests the Resistance Libs Got Played
    By Bonchie | Aug 11, 2022 5:30 PM ET
    [IMG]
    AP Photo/Susan Walsh

Days after the unprecedented raid of Donald Trump’s Florida home, AG Merrick Garland finally decided to address the public on Thursday regarding the matter. Some naively hoped that he’d provide a legitimate justification for the raid, but as expected, that didn’t materialize, mostly because there was no justification.

Instead, Garland danced about while revealing a few noteworthy things. One, we learned that he was the one that ordered the raid, which is not surprising given he’s a partisan who obviously holds a grudge against the former president. Two, the DOJ is asking the judge in the case to unseal the warrant, which may or may not tell us anything depending on whether the affidavit is included. Lastly, the attorney general angrily rebuked those who would dare question the integrity of the FBI, an assertion that drew richly deserved laughter on the right.

But I think we learned something more than what Garland chose to admit.

    https://twitter.com/KenDilanianNBC/...ggests-the-resistance-libs-got-played-n610789

Ken Dilanian was one of the journalists that Fusion GPS used throughout the Mueller investigation to target Trump. I point that out to say that he is in no way sympathetic to the former president. Instead, his admission likely comes with much sadness, but I think still he’s onto something here.

For days, we have had numerous leaks about what the FBI was after, and all of them have pointed to the seizing of documents under the guise of the Presidential Records Act. That’s in contention with those who had hoped the raid was part of some bigger criminal probe regarding January 6th. Add that to Garland’s willingness to immediately release the warrant without a fight, and it suggests there is no grand plan here to frog march Trump over the possession of classified information.

Besides, as I stated on Tuesday, presidents have total power over classification. While I’m sure Garland would love to nail Trump, proving that he didn’t have the power to declassify and keep the documents he had would be extremely difficult. It would also come across as partisan and petty given that past presidents have had similar disputes and have never been bothered about it, much less had their homes raided.

Then there’s this extension of that theory, which may shed light on the motivation.

    https://twitter.com/EWErickson/stat...ggests-the-resistance-libs-got-played-n610789

In other words, the resistance libs got played here. They thought they finally had the bad orange man and it looks like Garland’s raid was nothing more than a failed hit under the guise of recovering some documents the National Archives (run by a Biden appointee and likely hack) wanted. Yes, it was meant to embarrass Trump, but it doesn’t look like it did anything to prove some kind of larger criminal conspiracy.

Still, don’t confuse what I’m saying with excuse-making for the FBI and DOJ. The fact that there don’t appear to be criminal charges on the horizon actually makes the government look worse. They abused their power to weaponize federal law enforcement to harass a president over something that was already being handled through the courts in a completely uncalled for and unjustified manner. Garland wanted to stick his finger in Trump’s eye, and he did so, showing how blatantly political his department is.

But the resistance libs thought this was going to be so much more. If I’m right, though, and this was just a show of force with nothing undergirding it, they will once again be left shouting at the sky. Further, they’ve only made Trump stronger.

"we learned that he was the one that ordered the raid,"......Not quite right...He didn't order the raid, he requested it. It was approved by a frederal judge after DOJ demonstrated convincing evidence the raid was necessary.

This raid proceeded after months of repeated attempts to retrieve Highly Sensitive documents relative to National Security. The judge agreed this was the only way to return the docs held by citizen Trump.

Experts call on Trump to release search warrant and inventory list as his supporters talk of 'civil war'

David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement
    August 09, 2022

Legal experts and other experts are urging – or in some cases, daring – Donald Trump to publish a copy of the FBI’s search warrant and the inventory list of the ten cartons of classified documents removed from Mar-a-Lago’s basement Monday, as his supporters openly call for civil war in response to what the former president called a “raid.”

“After the search, the federal agents hauled away roughly 10 more boxes,” The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

That makes the total number of cartons the former president was storing at his Florida home approximately 25, based on reports that 15 cartons had to be retrieved by the National Archives earlier this year.

Almost immediately upon news breaking that the FBI had executed a search warrant, Trump supporters went wild. They formed a convoy outside Mar-a-Lago, and online countless threats of violence and “civil war” have been made.

Tuesday morning CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan posted a graph, noting the “big spike in tweets referencing ‘civil war’ right after the news of the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago broke last night.”

Dr. Caroline Orr Bueno posted an image of a large number of tweets that call for civil war and other related threats of violence, including: “I already bought my ammo,” “Civil war! Pick up arms, people!” “Civil War 2.0 just kicked off,” “Let’s do the war,” and “One step closer to a kinetic civil war.”

And Tuesday afternoon NBC News reported, “After Mar-a-Lago search, users on pro-Trump forums agitate for ‘civil war’ — including a Jan. 6 rioter.”

Legal experts have made clear they believe FBI’s execution of a lawful federal search warrant is most likely in connection with a national security and counterintelligence operation, not a casual stroll into the private estate of a former U.S. president – and certainly not a political move, like Trump supporters are falsely claiming.

Former Dept. of Justice Inspector General Michael Bromwich, who is also a former Asst. U.S. Attorney at the Southern District of New York (SDNY) notes that “Trump has the search warrant, specifying the crimes being investigated, and the inventory of the items seized.”

“He has chosen not to share those items publicly although he is free to do so,”
    Bromwich adds.

Former U.S. Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal on MSNBC Tuesday morning:

“Donald Trump, you have a copy of the warrant. It explains what they were looking for, what statutes they think were violated, what judge signed off on that…If you believe this is such an abuse, release the warrant and let us decide for ourselves.”

“By the way,” noted Richard Stengel, a former U.S. Under Secretary of State, “Trump now has the search warrant and the inventory of what was taken in his possession. If this raid was so egregious and unjustified, why not release them?”

“Trump can release the search warrant and the inventory of what the FBI took. Why hasn’t he?” asked Marc Elias, the DNC’s top attorney who successfully fought more than 60 cases of alleged election fraud brought by the Trump team and his supporters.

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti, responding to a Fox News tweet with video of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) that reads, “‘WE DESERVE ANSWERS NOW'” wrote: “Some of those questions could be answered if Trump released the search warrant as well as the inventory of items seized, which his team presumably has.”

Politico’s Kyle Cheney tweeting his article titled, “Why the Trump search warrant is nothing like Hillary’s emails,” wrote: “One person who could clear most of it up? Trump. He has access to the inventory of records at Mar-a-Lago and likely received a copy of the search warrant. He would also know the nature of the classified documents at issue.”

Yeah, looks like Garland and the rest of the Democrat crime syndicate thought this bogus and illegal raid would trigger right-wing violence....

Just another desperate attempt to distract the country from the crashing economy, runaway inflation and out of control crime.

The Democrat's know the midterms will be their death knell and desperate lawless antics are all they have left....

What makes you think the search warrent was illegal?

Sounds more like you're trying "another desperate attempt to distract" from the raid by pointing to the crashing economy (although quickly improving), runaway inflation (although at a plateau and showing signs of cooling) and out of control crime (thanks to 3oo+ million guns).

FBI searched Mar-a-Lago for classified ‘nuclear weapons’ documents: report

Explosive new information is coming out about the focus of the FBI search warrant executed at Mar-a-Lago on Monday.

"Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence on Monday," The Washington Post reported, citing "people familiar with the investigation."

"Experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands," the newspaper reported. "Material about nuclear weapons is especially sensitive and usually restricted to a small number of government officials, experts said. Publicizing details about U.S. weapons could provide an intelligence road map to adversaries seeking to build ways of countering those systems. And other countries might view exposing their nuclear secrets as a threat, experts said."

David Laufman, the former head of the Justice Department’s counterintelligence section, explained the significance if the report is true.

"If that is true, it would suggest that material residing unlawfully at Mar-a-Lago may have been classified at the highest classification level,” Laufman said. “If the FBI and the Department of Justice believed there were top secret materials still at Mar-a-Lago, that would lend itself to greater ‘hair-on-fire’ motivation to recover that material as quickly as possible.”

Trumpland was reportedly "caught off guard" by Attorney General Merrick Garland's call to unseal the search warrant so the public would learn more details.

I have said a few places on the board that I was betting Trump would fight tooth and nail to keep the search warrant and evidence gathered with it secret. We will have to wait and see what actually happens tomorrow but right now at least I was wrong about that.

Trump calls for ‘immediate release’ of search warrant docs ahead of Friday deadline

Shortly before midnight on Thursday evening, former President Donald Trump announced that we would not oppose the Department of Justice motion to unseal the Mar-a-Lago search warrant and redacted property receipt listing the items seized.

Trump has had the search warrant since Monday, but has refused to reveal it himself. He also has possession of the redacted property receipt, but posted neither in his Truth Social post.

Trump wrote, "Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago, I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents, even though they have been drawn up by radical left Democrats and possible future political opponents, who have a strong and powerful vested interest in attacking me, much as they have done for the last 6 years…"

Trump's late-night post came after Attorney General Merrick Garland's call to unseal the documents was seen as calling Trump's bluff and reportedly caught the former president's team off guard.

Trump had an initial deadline of 3 p.m. Eastern on Friday to indicate if he was going to oppose the release, which is was already free to reveal himself.

Trump's post followed a day of reports that the FBI was searching for nuclear weapons documents, that signals intelligence was recovered at Mar-a-Lago and that his new attorney called for his impeachment on day 24 of his administration.

While we don't know if he voted for the Donald, report from the local news station said this,.....

Police have identified the suspect as 42-year-old Ricky Walter Shiffer from Columbus.

According to the Associated Press, federal agents are looking into whether Shiffer may have had ties to far-right extremist groups.

The AP reports Shiffer is believed to have been in Washington, D.C. in the days leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, and may have been present at the Capitol on the day of the attack, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the matter. He was not charged with any crimes in connection with the Jan. 6 attack, the official said.

A review of an online account in the name of Ricky Shiffer on former President Donald Trump's Truth Social website shows recent posts made, one during the standoff Thursday.

The laws of odds and probability. The pattern that it is only treasonous conservative/America Hating Republicans and domestic terrorists motivated by them committing the overwhelming amount of violence especially killing law enforcement. And just common sense. As in Ray Charles could have seen that one.

Now was the now dead domestic terrorist that attacked the FBI motivated by Trump and especially the most recent treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans attacks on the FBI or not?

Anothee simple and direct question you will be too much of a coward to answer. You simply cannot face reality and the facts.

But also @toniter because you are attacking me for simply responding in kind. Here was @shootersa attacking me on Wednesday at 1030 am. I do not have to simply take attacks like that laying down from @shootersa or anyone else on this forum.

And if you are going to attack over my response then you should at least feel obligated enough to click on that link and follow the discussion and you will see even if you don't want to admit it that what I am saying is true.

I will repeat the question here @toniter and you watch for yourself to see if @shootersa answers it with the simple yes or no answer it requires.

      Triggered again.
Swear to God, he needs to calm down.

      OI! @stumbler
      Asked and answered already.
      To clarify, Shooters answer was;
Neither you or anyone else can read the assholes mind, not before he attacked the FBI and for damn sure not now.

If that isn't clear and simple enough just ask, and Shooter will make it even more clear.
Oh, what the hell. Lets just go ahead and dumb it down for stumbler

      We. Don't. Know.
      We. Probably. Won't. Ever. Know.

      Clear enough now?

Take note of the personal attack @shootersa already posted @toniter . The laws of odds and probability is not something I made up. Its a science that applies here as I explained in the post above.

First Trump did not "declassify" any of this material. He is not a king with a magic want that can just wave it and say "I declassify thee." Even if Trump wanted to declassify it that has to go through a procedure saying its declassified. And if they didn't follow that procedure then the material remains classified.

But this is also true. No president can something like I've derided to declassify all our annular arms material and give it to Putin/Russia. There has to be safeguards for something like that and there are.

Trump could not have unilaterally declassified nuclear secrets — here's why

At a historic summit in June, US President Donald Trump and Kim signed a vaguely-worded statement on denuclearisation AFP/File / SAUL LOEB

While it is still not known what information the FBI seized in its search of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, some of the former president's defenders have already started claiming that Trump could have simply declared all of the information he took declassified right before leaving office.

While the president does have very broad declassification powers, that defense would not hold up at all if the documents in question involved nuclear weapons.

As The Atlantic's Graeme Wood explains, American presidents cannot simply declassify nuclear-related information with the wave of a hand as they might be able to do with other classified information.

"The Atomic Energy Acts of 1946 and 1954 produced an even stranger category of classified knowledge," he writes. "Anything related to the production or use of nuclear weapons and nuclear power is inherently classified, and Trump could utter whatever words he pleased yet still be in possession of classified material."

RELATED: 'Has to drive him crazy!' Florida prosecutor says Trump must be furious after Mar-a-Lago insider 'spilled the beans'

This means that any classification related to nuclear weapons would have to go through a formal process with oversight from other agencies and not just be subject to the president's will.

"The restrictions on documents of this type are incredibly tight," Wood notes. "If Trump was keeping nuclear secrets in the storeroom of his country club, without even the benefit of a padlock, and resisted attempts to secure those secrets against infiltrators and spies, a prosecutor might reasonably take more interest."

There is something interesting about this other than just the new details. It is coming from the Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal that is certainly not usually the best at investigative journalism. But in the case of the search warrant at Mar a Lago the WSJ has been leading the pack. And by a lot when it comes to new information and details. Which makes me wonder how they seem to have such deep and knowledgeable sources on this.

Inventory shows FBI took 11 sets of classified documents out of Mar-a-Lago: report

During their search of the Donald Trump's Palm Beach resort this week, FBI agents recovered 11 sets of classified documents, including some marked as top secret and meant to "be only available in special government facilities," the Wall Street Journal reports.

Around 20 boxes of items, binders of photos, a handwritten note and the executive grant of clemency for Mr. Trump’s ally Roger Stone, were on a list of confiscated items that was reviewed by the newspaper. Also on the three-page list was information about the “President of France."

One set of documents recovered was marked, “Various classified/TS/SCI documents,” which, as the Wall Street Journal points out, is an abbreviation that refers to "top-secret/sensitive compartmented information."

The search warrant states that that FBI agents wanted to search “the 45 Office,” as well as “all storage rooms and all other rooms or areas within the premises used or available to be used by [the former president] and his staff and in which boxes or documents could be stored, including all structures or buildings on the estate.”

READ: How Merrick Garland turned the tables on Trump — and made Trump's supporters look like fools

People familiar with the matter say the search was intended to recover classified information that Trump allegedly mishandled.

Officials were poised Friday to make public a sealed warrant explaining the unprecedented raid on Trump's estate, which triggered accusations of political persecution by the former president and his supporters.

The 76-year-old Trump supported the release of the search warrant, although he has had a copy of the document for days and could have revealed its contents himself previously.

The search on Monday was believed to be focused on classified papers Trump may have removed from the White House, with one report suggesting they included documents related to nuclear weapons.

The highly unusual move to unseal the search warrant and the receipt listing the property seized by FBI agents was announced by Attorney General Merrick Garland -- the country's top law enforcement officer -- who said he had "personally approved" the dramatic raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort home.

"Release the documents now!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, as he slammed the raid on his home as a "political weaponization of law enforcement."

Andrew Weissmann, a former Justice Department official, said Garland had "called Trump's bluff" by putting the onus on the former president to object or consent to release of the document.

UPDATE: Now NBC News has obtained a copy of the search warrant before its even unsealed. And there are many ways they could have gotten it. But the most interesting to me is its not Trump or the DOJ leaking it. Its someone within an arms length of Trump feeding things to the press.
