Did you ever consider that it would not just be a democrat, yet a "female" of either party? Naturally it could have never been Palin simply due to her being her. So when it gets to a place that a decision has to be made, they take whomever fits their agenda and run with it in that in the end, it won't matter. What matters is that now that we have had an African American president, there needs to be a female president simply to break the glass ceiling. Now that plan doesn't work well if the opposing candidate has great ideas, is really admired by the people and respected. It does work very well however if the person acts like an uncontrollable clown...BUT...It can't be so unreasonable that people question it. A big part of that is generating hype, like you folks have done so well in doing obediently joining in with the mob. Have we ever seen a campaign where candidates from both sides fell like dominos, and so early that it assured the final contestants?

Think about it...Perhaps, just perhaps this may have all been decided long ago, and the only trick was...getting enough citizens to join in the dance for either side. Though frankly, we don't hear a lot from potential voters of Hillary. Reason being, they just don't matter.

Most of us think along those lines at some point. And given how reprehensible Hillary is, as a person, it's hard not to imagine that it must be preordained. That she's been selected-- maybe for her name recognition.

But I think it gives the establishment too much credit. They screw up everything big and small. How is it possible they could select and preordain a leader?

 

It does often seem like I'm mistaken for some diehard Hilary supporter, even though I've never said anything to give such an impression. In fact, I've said the opposite.

There's a floating conspiracy theory that Trump was used to get Hilary the white House. After all, they're old friends. Sometimes, with the shit he says, you gotta wonder.... Heh

People generally crave conformity and acceptance. Individuals may buck the trend, but society itself exerts tremendous pressure. In the media. In the office. In schools. In churches.

Couple with that pressure the facts that (1) we are bankrupt and can no longer afford the largesse of bread-and-circuses; (2) the dissolution of long-standing ethical and moral norms; (3) our diminished standing in the world; (4) the collective denial that we are in decline and the craving to rationalize all of the change as good and progressive. Thus, I believe we are led by our own desires and cravings toward a liberal/progressive agenda, that reassures us by reinforcing the myth that our decline is in fact progress toward a utopian ideal.

I know we are individuals, but as a whole we are herded en masse, aided and abetted by a complicit media that is also part and parcel with the herd. The media lead us easily, because we, collectively, are the least informed, most ill-prepared generation in the history of this country. Quite an accomplishment, actually, given that the Internet has literally put the world at our fingertips.

Individuals consider themselves free. But they also want to belong. I know that words like "herd" and "mob" are pejorative, but they best describe this craving for conformity. I call the tendency toward conformity soft fascism. The vilification of the opposition, the demonization of the opposition, the silencing and dismissal of the opposition with pejoratives like "deplorable" and "irredeemable" are exactly how fascism begins.

I recall an old war-era poem by a German author. It was shaped verse, a one word condemnation of the pre-WWII years, the formative years of fascism in Germany, which began with a societal pressure toward conformity. I have forgotten the author, but I've never forgotten the poem. Here it is:

Unless you are reading alternative news on a regular basis, you've been blindsided by this momentous change.

Obama did it by fiat. No doubt in a few months he is going to be paid off handsomely, through a new Obama Foundation, by the organizations that have taken control of ICAAN.

But how can we blame Obama? McConnell and Ryan have had a year to fight it. Possibly longer. This goes back to Boehner and beyond.

Obama... Boehner... Ryan... McConnell... Clinton......... the one establishment. The one power structure.
