The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I think it’s better to call the police, they are well trained and equipped.
No need to take the law into your own hands. It’s the job of law enforcement officers.
Besides it’s really your fault for choosing girlfriends that might do that to your house.

Police have been defunded, and I will tell you Suzy, if I had caught her doing it, she would still be at the bottom of the Saint Johns in a paint barrel, with plenty of asphalt to stay there! AND I wouldn't be saying anything about it!

Taking a knee during the National anthem at a football game was not the smartest way to curry favor.
Kind of like this tone deaf stupidity.

Back when I was in the newspaper we had a chief of police that showed up at about every town council meeting requesting more funds for more officers more equipment more of everything. Always reminding the council their lives were on the line 24 hours a day.

Except one of the town council members was also a highway patrolman who had been on the job about 20 years. And one night he looked at him and said Chief let's consider these funding requests for what they are. But if you really want to work in a profession where your life is on the line 24 hours a day be a farmer. We have lots more of them killed and injured ar0und here every year than law enforcement.

But if you really want to work in the most dangerous branch of law enforcement be a game warden. We haven't had a cop killed on the job in the last 20 years. And we have had two game wardens killed on the job in just the past five years.

I defy anyone to watch this video and claim the police were justified. Because its actually really simple. This is not law enforcement. It is cops that act more like gang members just looking for any excuse to beat the living fuck our of someone. Its fun for them. And that is what police reform is all about. Not just weeding out bad cops but changing attitudes and tactics.

Crawford County sheriff's deputy and Mulberry police / screengrab.

Three law enforcement officers were suspended after a video allegedly showed them beating a man outside a convenience store.

Crawford County Sheriff James Damante told Fox 16 that the video shows two of his deputies and one Mulberry Police officer.

The sheriff discussed the video in a Facebook post.

"In reference to the video circulating social media involving two Crawford County Deputies, we have requested that Arkansas State Police conduct the investigation and the deputies have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation," Damante wrote.

"I hold all my employees accountable for their actions and will take appropriate measures in this matter," he wrote.

Fox 16 reported, "police can be heard telling the bystander to back away from the area and pointed away after slamming the man’s face to the ground."

The blame is always put on rogue cops but it’s a top down problem.
By the time this gets through the courts it will all be forgotten and will have been business as usual in the years since.

What is so heart warming about this:

Entire police force in Alabama disbanded because officer who sent racist text could not be fired
The city of Vincent was forced to abolish its own police department due to a policy that left it with no active officers while still paying salaries

What is so heart warming about this? Liberals used to be First Amendment absolutists. What happened to that?

What did he do wrong? He must have resisted arrest. When two police officers were beating me up I said, "I'm not resisting officers," and they stopped.

They beat me up by mistake. As soon as they realized I was not who they thought I was they left.

I would have appreciated an apology, just like I would have appreciated a word of thanks for the appreciation thread I wrote for stumbler. Neither came. :(

Jacksonville officer’s gun firing was ‘unintentional’ in July shooting that killed man, SAO finds

    ActionNewsJax.com News Staff
    Mon, September 19, 2022 at 3:54 PM·2 min read

The State Attorney’s Office said Monday it has finished the review of the death of a man who was fatally shot in July by a Jacksonville police officer.

A letter from Assistant State Attorney Mark Caliel to Chief Paul Restivo of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office states that the “independent review of the death investigation of Bobby Brown has determined Mr. Brown’s death was the result of an unintentional firearm discharge by the shooting officer.”

Caliel also noted in the letter that “the discharge of the firearm was not criminal.”

On July 30, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it responded to the 2300 block of Grunthal Street in Northwest Jacksonville, where witnesses told them there was an “individual high on drugs, armed with knives and knocking and banging on doors in the area,” JSO said.

That individual was later identified as 41-year-old Bobby Hames Brown.

Police said on the day of the shooting that Brown eventually made it to a relative’s house, was allowed in and made threats to harm himself and people in the house.

He had hidden drugs and paraphernalia in the house and then locked himself in the bathroom, police said.

Officers got everyone in the house out safely, but Brown locked himself in a bathroom. After 45 to 60 minutes, he came out still holding the knives. Officers then used a Taser stun gun on him.

“And also, an officer fired a single gunshot,” a JSO detective said.

The officer who fired the shot was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.

Body-worn camera footage of the shooting exists, and Caliel said in the letter that its release would not compromise the investigation. However, Brown’s next of kin, his mother, said she did not want the footage publicly released.

“Additionally, the incident occurred inside a private residence making the footage confidential and exempt pursuant to public records law,” Caliel wrote. Read the full letter below.

Florida prison guards broke inmate's neck — then left him paralyzed and starving to death in his cell: report

On Wednesday, the Miami Herald reported on the story of Craig Ridley, a 62-year-old prisoner in Florida who, after having his neck broken by guards, was left to die in his cell.

"Ridley, 62, was lying on his bunk paralyzed, his neck dislocated — a catastrophic injury suffered after corrections officers tackled him to the ground face first on Sept. 8, 2017," reported Nicholas Nehamas. "A little more than a month later, he would be dead, having been manhandled, mocked and ignored by prison staff, even as he begged for help. 'My neck is broke,' Ridley said, according to a video taken by officers shortly after his injury and obtained by the Miami Herald. 'I’m paralyzed.'"

"Instead of calling for a backboard, officers at the scene of his injury forced Ridley into a wheelchair," said the report. "He drooped forward awkwardly, crying out in pain, the video shows. A prison nurse disregarded his complaints during a brief exam. 'You ain’t paralyzed,' one officer told him. Officers then put Ridley in a confinement cell, positioning him on a toilet where, unable to balance, he fell onto the hard floor — again face first — leaving a pool of blood that horrified other inmates. Once more, prison medical staff said he was fine."

According to the report, his blockmates begged guards to get him medical attention as he lay in his cell, unable to walk and starving because he couldn't reach the food he was being given. After five days of this paralysis, guards finally took him to a hospital, where "He died on Oct. 12 — five years ago Wednesday — intubated and unable to communicate."

IN OTHER NEWS: Secret Service agent charged with tormenting woman who turned him down for sex

According to the report, this story was kept hushed for years because of the Florida prison system's lack of transparency — finally laid out in a damning, almost 400 page report by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

"After suffering through the strain of the pandemic, Florida’s beleaguered prison system is stuck in a worsening crisis that could produce more cases like Ridley’s. Florida prisons have only 76 percent of the employees they need, with a statewide shortage of nearly 4,000 officers, according to the Florida Department of Corrections," said the report. "The situation has grown so alarming that Gov. Ron DeSantis is activating Florida’s National Guard to help staff state prisons, where roughly 450 incarcerated people die every year. Many pass away from natural causes thanks to the state’s long sentences and aging inmate population. Some die young because of illicit drugs, others by suicide. Most result in an autopsy, a rudimentary report — and then not much else."

This comes amid numerous other reports of egregious mistreatment of people in Florida prisons and jails — including a sheriff in Fort Myers who refused to evacuate a 457-bed jail as Hurricane Ian was bearing down on the region

2 officers killed after possible phony 911 call and ambush with AR-15: Sources (msn.com)

Two police officers were shot and killed and one is seriously injured after a gunman allegedly ambushed them at a Bristol, Connecticut, home, according to sources.

The Bristol police officers were shot while responding to a domestic violence emergency call at a home late Wednesday night, according to Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont.

According to police sources, the gunman made a 911 call, possibly for a fake domestic violence incident at the home, and then carried out an apparent ambush on the officers with an AR-15-style rifle.

The suspect was shot dead at the scene, police said.

The suspect's brother was also shot and has been hospitalized in unknown condition, according to police.

"Our community has been rocked," Bristol police chief Brian Gould said at a news conference.

Killed in the gunfire were Bristol police Sgt. Dustin DeMonte, 35, and officer Alex Hamzy, 34, Gould said.

DeMonte is survived by his wife and two children with a third child on the way, the chief said.

DeMonte "was assigned to our patrol division and was a school resource officer," the chief said. "He was also an adviser for the Bristol police explorer cadet program. Throughout his career he has received several awards, including the Silver Star, officer of the month and co-recipient for Officer of the Year in 2019."
