  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

One of Donald Trump's biggest supporters in Alabama has been arrested for a sex crime, The Birmingham News reports.

"Perry Oliver Hooper Jr., 67, is charged with first-degree sex abuse, Montgomery police Capt. Saba Coleman confirmed Tuesday," the newspaper reported. "Details of the allegations against Hooper have not been disclosed and records on the case are not yet listed in Alabama’s online court system. Coleman said the alleged incident happened about 8 p.m. Aug. 16, 2022, in the 100 block of Commerce Street."

The block features the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa, Hampton Inn & Suites Montgomery, the Aviator Bar, multiple restaurants, and a law firm.

Hooper, Jr. spent 17 years as a state legislator and was co-chair of Trump's 2016 campaign in the state. He is currently a member of the Alabama GOP state executive committee.

Following the 2020 election, Hooper joined an "investigative team" led by Conservative Union President Bill Schlapp and former Nevada Attorney General Paul Laxalt chasing Trump's election fraud delusions in Nevada.

His father, Perry Hooper, Sr., was chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court from 1995-2001. Hooper, Sr. was succeeded by Roy Moore, who was removed from office for violations of judicial ethics.

    You aren't, you know.

As if what Dan Rostenkowski or Clinton did even compare to what Trump did. I know that you work hard to minimize what Trump did, but so far none of your comparisons are even in the same ball park of the seriousness of what Trump did.

Seriously. I'm not trying to minimize anything here. What did Trump do that is so awful in your estimation?
As far as I know, he's never gone to jail, never been convicted of committing perjury no matter how hard the Dems have tried to catch him, had some bankruptcies, some issues with a school, etc.
All things that Dems have done too.

      Wasn't talking to you...

He took classified files that weren't his to take.

But of course, you'll cite some "whataboutism" in order to dismiss his actions.

Just because Jack committed a crime does not absolve Jill of commiting the same crime of similar. Go ahead and try to use that defense in court! I'm sure the judge will see the doors of the legal systems way and grant you absolution!

He takes the propaganda and half truths that hes force fed from his handlers and then pukes it up right here in the forum.
Then he laps it up and regurgitates it in an endless cycle that reinforces the lies and bullshit.

But say, whatever it takes, eh?

    Careful up there genius.

    Rule of law?
Fucking hypocrites are despicables who work so hard to convict trump in the court of public opinion with their lies and propaganda.

32 investigations. 7 years. No indictments.

And ignore the criminals in their own yard to make themselves feel superior.

Sounds like this could be very bad news for Project Veritas.

Pair pleads guilty to stealing diary from Biden’s daughter

Two Florida residents pleaded guilty on Thursday to stealing the diary of Ashley Biden, President Biden’s daughter, and selling it to conservative media organization Project Veritas in 2020.

Aimee Harris and Robert Kurlander each pleaded guilty to one count of a conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property from an immediate family member of a former government official who was running for national office, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a press release.

They both face a maximum of five years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement that “Harris and Kurlander sought to profit from their theft of another person’s personal property, and they now stand convicted of a federal felony as a result.”

The DOJ documents do not identify Project Veritas or the Biden family, but reporting on the case has already identified them.

According to the DOJ, Harris, 40, was temporarily staying at the Delray Beach, Fla., residence of Ashley Biden in September 2020 when she stole the diary “containing highly personal entries” as well as tax records, a cellphone and family photographs.

Harris enlisted Kurlander, 58, to assist her in selling the collected material.

Project Veritas, based in New York, paid Harris and Kurlander $20,000 each for the diary and other materials the pair returned to Florida to obtain.

In November, the DOJ raided two locations tied to Project Veritas and the organization’s founder, James O’Keefe.

Project Veritas never published the diary, but a website called Flyover Media did.

O’Keefe, who said he received the diary from tipsters who found it abandoned in a hotel room, said he did not publish it because he could not verify its authenticity.

Project Veritas is known for sting operations, sending its staffers undercover to record sources and capture what they say is the true story behind the headlines.

Texas Right to Life political director arrested for 'soliciting a minor' online

The former political director for the anti-abortion advocacy group Texas Right to Life has been charged with soliciting a minor online, The Courier reports.

Luke Bowen was caught in a sting carried out by Montgomery County Internet Crime Against Children. He faces a second-degree felony, which carried a two- to 20-year sentence and a fine of up to $10,000. He was released on $50,000 bond.

“This investigation revolves around a fictitious alleged minor created by law enforcement and posted on the Internet. There is not a real victim in the case," said Bowen's attorney E. Tay Bond.

Bowen has reportedly pleaded not guilty in the case.

Texas Right to Life told The Courier that Bowen was terminated from his position on Aug. 3, the same day he was charged, although details surrounding his termination were not provided.

"Texas Right to Life is arguably the most influential anti-abortion group in the state," wrote feminist activist Jessica Valenti in response to the news, "in addition to lobbying (and spending millions doing so), the organization also endorses extremist candidates and raises money for them. The organization’s biggest donor is billionaire Farris Wilks, responsible for bankrolling the state’s far-right shift."

Republicans on Sunday shows reveal how scared they are about Trump's document scandal

    Sarah K. Burris
    August 28, 2022

    Kevin McCarthy on Facebook.

Republicans appeared on Sunday morning news shows, making it clear that they're not comfortable with Donald Trump's latest scandal, the New York Times round-up explained.

Monday begins the third week since the FBI executed a search warrant at Trump's golf club in Palm Beach, Florida. What they recovered was a cache of government documents that Trump stole to take with him upon leaving the White House. A number of the documents were so top secret that the government has been unable to describe them to the public.

Since then, the scandal has grown into such a substantial issue that Republican officials note it has become difficult for the 2022 campaign. In a Sunday evening rant on his social media site, Trump alleged that the whole issue was an attempt by Democrats to win the election. The problem with his argument, however, is that the effort by the National Archives began in May 2021. For seven months, he refused to turn over documents. By the time he did, it was discovered he had stolen classified information that he wouldn't release back to the government. The Justice Department filed a subpoena, but Trump refused. Finally, 14 months after the initial contact, the DOJ filed a search warrant and took the documents back.

If Trump had simply complied with a subpoena, the case likely wouldn't have seen the light of day. Only after Trump refused to turn over the stolen information did the FBI show up. Even then, they didn't wear jackets with FBI across the back. It wasn't even revealed that they were there until Trump revealed it himself.

Republican Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox's Maria Bartiromo that Trump was lying about the documents being declassified.

Speaking on Sunday to ABC's "This Week," outgoing Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) said that Trump should have turned the documents over to begin with.

"What I wonder about is why this could go on for almost two years and, less than 100 days before the election, suddenly we’re talking about this rather than the economy or inflation or even the student loan program," Blunt complained. The answer, of course, is that Trump refused to turn over the documents for the last 14 months.

"Former President Trump has been out of office for going on two years now," Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH) said on CNN. "You think this is a coincidence just happening a few months before the midterm elections?"

It's unclear why Trump refused to comply with the subpoena after a year of negotiating with the government. Since the scandal, Trump has been raising buckets of cash, proclaiming himself as the victim of the government coming for "his" documents.

Sununu went on to say that the US's student debt situation wasn't a crisis.

“Some of the president’s biggest cheerleaders — Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jim Jordan — have gone kind of silent,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) told "Meet the Press" on NBC. “That tells you all you need to know.”

Behind closed doors, Republican strategists are now managing expectations for what was once predicted to be a "red wave" in November. At one point, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), a House Speaker hopeful, predicted they'd win 60 Republican seats in the midterm election and take back the Senate. Now Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is managing expectations that they'll likely lose the seats they hoped could win them back the body.

Unmentioned, however, is the impact of the Supreme Court on the 2022 election. Several states reported a disproportionate gender disparity in voter registration information with more women signing up to vote after the Dobbs decision was passed down.

See the New York Times round-up here.

CPAC official melts down at 'semi-fascist' label despite alliance with Viktor Orbán

    Fox News/screen grab

Mercedes Schlapp of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) decried accusations that supporters of Donald Trump are "semi-fascist" even though her political event is aligned with Hungarian President Viktor Orbán.

During a Monday appearance on Fox News, Schlapp attacked President Joe Biden because he said that Trump's MAGA movement was "semi-fascist."

"If I were Democrats, I would reevaluate these talking points, especially when Joe Biden is going out there calling those MAGA Republicans semi-fascist," Schlapp complained. "I mean, that is a complete insult and something that I think is anti-American and really he is no longer the one that is a unifier in this country."

But just weeks earlier, Schlapp's CPAC event hosted Orbán, who promotes a version of "soft fascism."

"Hundreds of die-hard right-wing activists descended on the Hilton Anatole in Dallas for the Conservative Political Action Conference this week," the Texas Observer reported earlier this month. "It's the third CPAC event this year alone, following prior events in Orlando, Florida and Budapest, Hungary. It's also the third CPAC event in a row which featured explicitly Christian nationalist and fascistic speakers."
