In the world of professional sports. These days it's all about name recognition.
NFL players are supposed to leave their helmets on while on the field so they can't get their face "out there" for merchandising.
I remember the "Ickey Shuffle" from back in the day but probably couldn't pick Elbert Woods out of a line up.

I played a lot of high level football in my day, and I don't like a lot of it either...

@odi144 No doubt the Seahawks should have run it in. 7 years later and I’m still trying to wrap my head around that blunder. That one obviously had some luck tied into it but what a marvelous ending it was! That was arguably my favorite Super Bowl ever. (If you can’t tell already by now, I’m from New England lol) The Falcons one was a total choke job. As @phxbi_bear80 said, 28-3 at halftime! Porn Stars can’t even choke that hard lmao so my response to you is: Shoulda, coulda, woulda but they didn’t!

 

I think it was 28-3 with @5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Not a falcons fan but if they would have run the ball, even if it was 3 and didn't make the first down they would've taken time off the clock and most likely won.

@odi144 Yes, you’re correct, that was my error but honestly, that makes it even worse lol as that gave Brady even less time to mount a comeback! Both Seattle and Atlanta should have run the ball, yes. But they didn’t. Dumb mistakes that should have never been made. That’s the way it played out though. I blame the coaching. Pete Carroll calling for a pass play on the goal line like that was just baffling. People have even said there were conspiracies behind that one lol
