DeSantis Secures Hand Full of Wins as He Plans to Announce 2024 Presidential Bid

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) is flying high after securing key legislative wins, priming him for a potential 2024 presidential bid.

During a five-day special legislation session, the House and Senate approved seven bills that could give DeSantis a boost for the White House should he run.

Among the bills was an expansion to the governor’s program flying illegal migrants to blue states and his control of Disney World’s special tax district.

The legislation creates an Unauthorized Alien Transport Program within the state’s Division of Emergency Management, which will allow state workers to transport illegal migrants to other states if necessary, a topic that has been both praised and criticized in the media.

The new legislation would give DeSantis the authority to transport migrants from any state, not just those in Florida.

In a 26-9 vote, the legislative session ended Walt Disney World’s control over its special tax district, concluding a long-awaited fight between the woke corporation and DeSantis.

The legislation will rename the Reedy Creek Improvement District as the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and create a new board comprised of members that DeSantis approves of.

The battle began when Disney publicly criticized the Florida governor for his “Parental Rights in Education” bill, which allowed parents to know what their child was learning in school and restricted sexually explicit material that was not age appropriate.

However, the woke police argued that DeSantis was unfair and hostile to the LGBT community.

Another bill that made its way on DeSantis’ side is a measure aimed at cracking down on election-related crimes.

DeSantis has been an opponent in putting an end to election fraud, and the legislation would give state prosecutors authority to charge residents with election violations if needed.

Last year, the governor created the Office of Election Crimes and Security, which found 20 individuals accused of illegally voting in the 2020 election due to previous criminal convictions.

The change will allow state prosecutors to charge those accused of committing election fraud.

DeSantis’ big wins this week, make him an ideal candidate for the Republican Party.

I'm not actually making any predictions. I can't foretell the future. It's all just opinion. The 2020 election was a clear rejection of Trump more than anything else. IMO much of the country was shocked when Trump was elected. Most like myself, never imagined Trump would win. Every poll showed Trump behind by 5 or more points. Even Trump didn't really think he'd win. Which is why BTW, he was claiming it was a rigged election. Well Trump managed to tap into something. Trump was even able to take over the Repuke party. The base was even willing to aid and abet Trump's efforts to overturn a national election. Yep even commiting treason was fine with Trumptards.

DeSantis is an apple from the tree. Trump 2.0 is not going to sit well with a lot of people. The 2022 midterms was proof of that.

I have been looking for polls of DeSantis against President Biden. I have not found any. Right now, the only way I can see Biden, or any Democrat defeating DeSantis would be for Trump to run as a third candidate.

I will vote for Biden. I have always liked him, but I really think he is too old. After a life of public service he deserves a comfortable retirement.

There is plenty of hostility between Trump and DeSantis, so I cannot see either running as the other's running mate.

Well it's still sought of early even for US politics. As none other than Trump, has yet officially announced a 2024 run. And who knows, Biden may even be challenged by some unknown candidate. Didn't someone say once, "A year is an eternity in politics."

Trump's facade has taken a lot of damage since 2020. Again the 2020 midterms showed this. Trump was touting how all the credit for the incoming "Red tsunami" was all due to him. Well many "election denier" Trumptards were defeated. But the repukes were infested with those, so it may take a few more elections before they fade into obscurity. If not then yeah, the country is again in danger.

One may feel that a "watered down" Trump may be more palatable. But a national election brings a bright spotlight with it. Desantis may well be popular in Florida, but Florida is not the whole country. Can Desantis convince not only other trumptards such as himself. But will
independents want a Trump v2.0 as President. That remains to be seen.

Agan every election is snapshot in history as it were. Remember George Bush had an approval rating of 89% after the first Gulf war. Yet he lost to Clinton in the 1992 election. So a lot can change very quickly in politics.

Trump somehow captured the "outsider" mantle. The nation does tend to like the "third party" candidate whenever one emerges. Many feel Ross Perot took away enough Bush votes to allow Clinton to win in 1992. But Trump just ran roughshod over the Repuke field and took control of an entire party.

But whatever "magic" Trump was able to produce in 2016 has long since eroded. Trump lost the house in 2018, lost the Senate and lost the national election in 2020. Then in 2022 with Trump still the leader of the repuke party, The repukes suffered an "historically" poor midterm.

So if DeSantis expects to excite the country as Trump v.2.0. I just don't see how DeSantis sheds his trumptard past.

Trump has less chance of winning a nomination than Liz Cheney.

Hoping deplorables can do better than Desantis.

    Maybe Nikki Haley.

Bad shooter would find an Ivanka Trump/Chelsea Clinton presidential race really entertaining.

Bonus points if Ivanka ran as a despicable and Chelsea ran as a deplorable.

Peak Stupid Is Reached in Latest Democrat Attack on Ron DeSantis
By Sister Toldjah | 12:45 PM on February 14, 2023

For the “woke” left, there is literally nothing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis can get right.

Perhaps anticipating a 2024 presidential run, they’ve repeatedly called him a “racist” over his commitment to ending wokeism in the public school system and higher ed and accused him during the Wuhan virus pandemic of wanting senior citizens to die because he didn’t go full metal dictator like disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo did

More recently, they even falsely claimed DeSantis was pushing to mandate that female athletes report details about their menstrual cycles to state authorities.

But while most Democrat attacks on DeSantis have more or less revolved around the substance of what he proposes (though his critics frequently get that wrong, too), others have more to do with DeSantis’ no-nonsense style and to-the-point way of communicating, and – in the latest example – the kind of footwear he chooses.

    Yep, folks. That actually happened.

Check out the below tweets from American Bridge president Pat Dennis, and while doing so, keep in mind that according to their website, the mission of American Bridge (which has been funded by mega-rich leftists including billionaire George Soros) involves “holding Republicans accountable and helping deliver Democratic victories”:

    https://twitter.com/patdennis/statu...atest-democrat-attack-on-ron-desantis-n703483

ZOMG like they’ve really got him now, don’t they? I mean clearly, Dennis believes so, judging by his follow-up tweet, where he wrote something something about Sen. Marco Rubio and 2016:

Rubio also did this, famously, and it became a major line of attack against him in the 2016 primary.

Silly? Sorry buddy, this is the game as it is played.

Firstly, quite literally no one but DeSantis knows if he wears “high-heeled boots” (or “cowboy boots” as they are more commonly known to average Americans) in order to appear taller or if he is – like most folks who wear them – simply someone who enjoys wearing boots.

Plus, unless you’re an out-of-touch elitist Democrat like Dennis, it’s, ya know, not exactly viewed as a negative in Republican circles to be wearing “high-heeled boots” (no matter the reason):https://twitter.com/AA7YA/status/16...atest-democrat-attack-on-ron-desantis-n703483

I honestly did not think the left-wing attacks on DeSantis could get any more petty and hilarious than they did when former Vox “journalist” Aaron Rupar actually critiqued the way DeSantis was sitting during a Fox News GOP gubernatorial town hall in April 2021:https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/...atest-democrat-attack-on-ron-desantis-n703483

If Dennis’ petty swipe at DeSantis’ boots and Rupar whining about DeSantis’ “manspreading” aren’t textbook “dudes posting their Ls” moments in U.S. politics, I don’t know what is.

As I’ve said before, if these types of things are what his numerous critics on the left and in the media have been reduced to taking “issue” with, you know Gov. DeSantis must be doing something right.

Well, but you forget the hack job despicables pulled on Kavanaugh trying to get Trump.

You underestimate what the despicables are willing to do at your own peril.

DeSantis team fires back at Eric Adams after he offers to teach Florida governor about NYC 'values'
DeSantis spox Christina Pushaw tweeted Adams has 'talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC'

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ team fired back at New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, after the mayor offered to teach the Florida governor about the crime-ridden city's "values."

Adams took a shot at DeSantis as the Florida governor kicked off his pro-police tour through Democrat-run cities in the City that Never Sleeps on Monday.

"Welcome to NYC, [DeSantis], a place where we don’t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care," Adams wrote on Monday.

"We’re happy to teach you something about values while you’re here," the New York City mayor continued.

DeSantis’ team fired back minutes later, with DeSantis campaign spokeswoman Christina Pushaw saying New York City had more departures than any other metropolitan area last year.

"Nice rhetoric – but here’s reality: More Americans fled NYC than any other metro area last year," Pushaw wrote. "More Americans moved to Florida than any other state."

"You know this, Mayor Adams, and you’ve talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC," Pushaw said. "Florida’s crime rate meanwhile is at a 50-year low."

"Maybe it’s you who can learn from [DeSantis]?" the governor’s spokesperson said.

    https://twitter.com/ChristinaPushaw...esantis-team-fires-back-eric-adams-nyc-values

DeSantis kicked off his tour Monday morning by speaking with police officers and law enforcement union officials at a diner in the red-leaning borough of Staten Island.

The governor will then head to Fort Washington, a Philadelphia suburb, and Elmhurst, Illinois, near Chicago, where he will meet with sheriffs, police chiefs and other local law enforcement officials, his political team told Fox News Digital.

DeSantis is expected to tout his efforts to support law enforcement and reduce crime in Florida, where he recently proposed legislation to strengthen bail laws, toughen penalties for sex criminals and other anti-crime measures.

According to the governor’s office, DeSantis implemented the largest recruitment package for law enforcement officers in state history last year, awarding $5,000 signing bonuses to officers willing to relocate to Florida from blue states.

News of DeSantis’ upcoming trip to Chicago caused backlash last week, prompting Illinois Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker to condemn the Florida governor as "homophobic."

Many Americans who liked Trump's stands against third world immigration, critical race theory, and in favor of a harsher criminal justice system, disliked Trump because of his character, his personality, and his intellect. These people will like DeSantis and vote for him.

    And don't forget Haley.
She is gonna give Trump a run, and DeSantis a run, and maybe, if they behave, she'll let them be her VP.

If not for Trump, DeSantis wouldn't be Anything. Gov of Florida. DeSantis is a trumptard. In 2020 DeSantis floated a plan for legislatures to appoint pro-Trump electors, negating the election results. The MAGA crowd will eventually throw support to DeSantis. Trumptards are very loyal, very loud, very violent, and very dumb. So any candidate that openly caters to MAGA Voters is a clear and present danger.

DeSantis is Trump v2.0 That should scare a lot of people.

But Trump would never do it. In modern times at least. No 3rd party candidate has ever won. Even Teddy Roosevelt failed. But maybe Trump as vindictive as he is. Will run just in spite of the repukes for daring to go with DeSantis over him.

Trump opened the door for authoritarian government in the United States. This is now the current path for the Republicans. Trumptard DeSantis will only keep the repukes on this same course. The last thing this country needs is another Trumptard sitting in the oval office.
