I never hated republicans. Nor do I love the democrats. I'm actually an independent voter. So I'm not "loyal" to any political party. If I was of voting age. I would've voted for Ross Perot and not Bill Clinton in the 1992 election. I also was a Bernie Sanders supporter. And was upset when the Democratic party establishment threw its support to Hillary. I felt Hillary ran a very poor campaign in 2016.

But when Trump lost the 2020 election. Then willing decided to make up the "Big lie" about widespread voter fraud and a stolen election. Casting doubt on very foundation of our democracy. Trump made a mockery of this nation's proud and envied tradition of the "Peaceful transition of power" that occurs every 4 years. Then to watch an entire party. Not only blindly accepting Trump's unsubstantiated claims. But then aiding and abetting Trump's attempt to overturn a free and fair election.

On Jan 6t. Trump holds a "Save America" rally on the very day Congress is meeting to officially certify a free and fair election. Liqueurs up the crowd with more lies about a "stolen" election lies then sits back and gleefully watches his followers storm and occupy the US Capital. Even after the Jan 6th riot. 147 Republican congressmen still voted against Biden's certificating.

Only after did a handful of Republicans' finally dare to publicly acknowledge Biden as President.
Once the republican party put their loyalty and cowardly fear of Trump before their oaths of office. The party is just as coupable of open treason as is Trump.

YET despite Trump's blatant attempts to illegally stay in power. Trump is still one of the leading candidates for the repuke nomination in 2024!

My hatred for Trump and his repuke followers. Has nothing to do with Biden. My disdain for trumptards is in their blind loyalty to Trump. Loyalty to a man over country. Loyalty to a man over our very constitution!

Seriously - who among us cannot palpably see and feel the fear that rat-fuck leftist Democrats feel about DeSantis?

So Trump wants to derail his possible opponents - and that is new?

Dumbfuck Leftards trying to use Trump's attacks on DeSantis are fucking laughable. Aside from Jumbled Joe, WHO does the left have on their bench? stupidly laughing Kamala - Incompetent Mayor Pete - Gavin (failed state) Newsom?

Don't worry, Libfucks - I'm sure the election-fixing mechanism is already in place - as well as Lib state legislatures and judiciaries to back up the idea that "There is nothing to see here".

    Yeah... GO WITH JOE!!!

This is just the latest in a long history of cowardly Libfucks who really don't have anything to say - let alone any coherent argument.

Keep at it! It's amusing as all hell.

I haven't said anything about motives or their beliefs. I'm just arguing that Repukes don't win elections with "culture wars" It always goes to far right for most of the country. Its when repukes start "Bible thumping" that things go south. Repukes make real headway when they stick to the economy and small government. Jimmy Carter was as openly religious as any president in modern times. The 1980 election was about the energy crises, a struggling economy and the poor handling of the Iran hostage crises. Moral or religious issues were of far less importance to the voter in 1980

@silkythighs Well that was a long winded responce that didn't remotely come close to answering the question. However, I get that a lot when I ask that question. See the problem with hate of any kind, is it always leaves you in the dark, only to hate more. Its similar to when a child is murdered and the perpetrator is sentenced to life behind bars. The parents that continue to hate the perpetator, usually/eventully loses everything and even dies from it. Now those that forgive the perpetrator or focus on the great loving times they spent with their child are capeable to love others and live out their lives successfully. I realize my point is a little dramatic but I think you can see where I'm going with it...

Another illusion of truth just telling the same lies over and over and over again to make them appear true. First both @silkythighs made it quite clear that we don't hate anyone. And more importantly the constant stream of hate comes from the right. And all anyone has to do is just look at this forum to know that.

And by the way are you aware what you wrote does not even make any seance?

I dunno guys. Not looking too good as far as the savior Saint DeSantis.

Ron DeSantis stands no chance against a political barbarian like Donald Trump

    312
    Rex Huppke, USA TODAY

There is one thing, and one thing only, I like about former President Donald Trump: He’s going to make Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ political life absolutely miserable.

Trump is already a GOP presidential candidate, and all signs point to DeSantis, the Sunshine State’s pugilistic, anti-woke warrior toad, soon becoming the former president’s main competition in the race.

That’s where things get funny. DeSantis has leveraged a meanness borne of right-wing buzzwords to make a national name for himself, at least in Republican circles. His words drip with disdain as he “owns the libs” and panders to those who view things like “diversity” and “inclusion” as profane concepts.

But for all his bluster and right-wing celebrity, for all the boxes he checks on the MAGA-purity checklist, there’s this reality: Trump is going to eat DeSantis’ lunch, stuff the lunch bag in his mouth and leave him pantsed and bawling on the political playground.

Polls show Trump's continued grip on the Republican Party
A wave of recent polls showed that Trump – the oafish man who has brought the GOP a string of electoral losses – saw his lead over DeSantis surge in February. An Emerson College poll shows Trump with a massive 30-point lead over DeSantis, with support for the Florida governor dropping 4 percentage points from January’s numbers.

A new Yahoo News/YouGov poll pitting Trump in a head-to-head primary against DeSantis gives Trump an 8-point lead over the Florida governor, which is a 12-point swing from an early February poll by the same group that showed DeSantis up 4 percentage points over Trump.

Former President Donald Trump announces he is running for president for the third time at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., Nov. 15, 2022.
In a recent poll from Echelon Insights, a GOP polling firm, Trump is trouncing DeSantis by 15 points after only leading by 2 points in January. And in a new Fox News poll, Republican primary voters favored Trump over DeSantis 43% to 28%.

DeSantis can make all the right moves, but Trump just needs a mean nickname or two to win
This Trump-heavy swing happened while DeSantis was making what are theoretically all the right moves to win over the GOP base. He has been attacking Disney, making life difficult for Florida teachers, combatting diversity in state colleges and generally doing what one does to court voters who survive on a steady diet of Fox News and conspiratorial Facebook memes.

What has Trump been doing? LOL! He has largely been sitting around Mar-a-Lago sending unhinged missives on Truth Social, his sad social media site, and tinkering with mean nicknames for DeSantis, including, but not limited to, “Meatball Ron.”

This is the conundrum for DeSantis and anyone else toying with a run at the GOP presidential nomination. You can do all the things you think a presidential candidate should do, and none of it will matter, because at the end of the day, you have to face off with the political equivalent of a rabid badger on bath salts. There is no “too low” in Trump’s vocabulary, and there is no “too far” in the lengths he’ll go to degrade, dehumanize and destroy an opponent.

    'RINO Ron DeSATANis!!'
    DeSantis just released a book.

He recently traveled to give tough-on-crime speeches to police unions in New York and Chicago. This week he had an 850-word op-ed in the conservative Wall Street Journal that included seven uses of the word “woke,” two uses of the word “militant,” one “leftist,” one “cultural Marxism” and one “fringe left.”

But all Trump has to do is step away from the waffle bar at his golf resort for 10 seconds and tweet something like “RINO Ron DeSATANis” to make his poll numbers shoot up 5 points.

Former President Donald Trump speaks at a campaign event at the South Carolina Statehouse on Jan. 28 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Such is the monster the GOP created. Some wealthy donors and non-MAGA conservatives still hope against hope that Trump’s base of voters will wake up and abandon their toxic idol.

That’s not going to happen. Trump is being investigated six different ways to Sunday, he continues to spout dangerous election conspiracy theories and his every utterance on Truth Social should disqualify him from ever holding a position of power. But his supporters only consume media that holds Trump out as the greatest president in American history, so his flaws, which are legion, are wholly irrelevant.

Can I pay someone in this Florida diner to support Ron DeSantis, please?
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade recently visited a diner in Florida and walked around asking customers who they want to be the GOP presidential candidate, and person after person after person said, “Donald Trump.” One woman wearing a DeSantis T-shirt said she favors the governor but is “either/or” between him and Trump. And that’s in DeSantis’ home state!

    t.
Trump could get indicted, but would it matter?
Plenty can happen between now and the primaries, of course. Trump could get indicted, though I don’t know if even that would stop him. In the upside-down world of the GOP, it might help.

But the idea that Trump’s followers will abandon him en masse? Anyone paying attention knows that’s not happening.

Trump is a political barbarian. He’ll either win his party’s nomination or he’ll tear down everything around him in the process. And either way, he’s going to pound DeSantis’ political dreams to dust.

And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like that.

Nope. At the moment the only candidate more qualified than her is maybe Desantis, and he can't carry the women or minorities like she can.
Or piss off despicables cause they didn't get to nominate the first black woman and get her into the white house. All they tried to give us was a wrinkled old corrupt career politician and an oportunistic woman of indeterminate genetic makeup with scars on her knees.

Nikki Haley got away with being governor of South Carolina where lying, hypocrisy, and constant contradictions is embraced by the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican party. And Haley also provided a much needed prop because the was a brown woman and treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican could point to her and falsely claim she proved the party of racism and bigotry aren't racists and bigots.

And her lying, hypocrisy, and constant contradictions served her well in the Trump administration where they were the method of operation.

But those things won't work on the national stage where she will be bombarded with the examples of her lying, hypocrisy, and constant contradictions. And if you have been watching her in interviews she just gets slaughtered because she is stupid, ignorant, weak and cowardly.

      Well now Shooter is confused.
On the one hand, according to stumbler, Trump is a lying, hypocritical, racist, sexist, corrupt self serving traitor who used those attributes to get himself elected and turn America into a "shithole country" and a "banana republic".

But now he's saying those same attributes won't work for a black brown woman.

Doesn't seem like stumbler believes one hand or the other, but it makes for emotional rhetoric so he goes with it anyway.;)

Yeah, because that's the way it works. The nominee is the person with the least shit on their face when the shit throwing contest is over.

It's the GOP convention and Nikki Haley is at the podium, holding up the hand of some Republican Congressman willing to take job. Everyone on the floor turns to look up and says, "Oh, I didn't see you standing there. You must have slipped in when I wasn't watching."

The only people who are afraid of Donald Trump are Republicans. He's a muddy snowball rolling down hill toward a hot spring and the GOP has two choices, get out of his way or get stuck to the snowball.

    ! Wow !
For the last 8 years we've been bombarded daily with leftist attacks on all things Trump.
We've seen them sink to lows we didn't think even they would get near, all to get trump.
We've seen that continue even after he is booted out of office.
And endless investigations aimed at getting them their perp walk and Trump behind bars for the same 8 years.
Every one of which has (so far) failed to produce the desired result.
Even today, all things Trump are the go to for despicables needed their daily anguish fix.

But deplorables are the only people "afraid" of Trump?
Now that, that right there, that's some executive level delusion, that is.

The denial of treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans who are embarrassed by Trump and fear he can't win against President Biden or any other Democrat for that matter is downright comical. They keep trotting out DeSantis and Haley as viable alternatives when Trump has more support from treasonous conservative/American Hating/Republicans than both of them put together.

Which is what happens when you create and join a cult of personality where the cult followers share the psychosis of their leader, suspend all disbelief, and believe only what the cult leader says when he says it. It is incredibly difficult to get the followers to leave the cult. It actually requires a massive deprogramming effort which treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans are too cowardly to undertake for fear of Trump.

Cmon stumbler, at least make the logic connect when you post.

First, deplorables are embarrassed by Trump and fear he can't win, so we trot out alternatives like DeSantis and Haley even though combined they can't match Trump, and then tell us this is what happens when one joins Trump's cult.

Even anon would have trouble swallowing your tripe.
Well, maybe anon would swallow it, but cmon dude.
Take a minute and think through what you're posting.

I got this from the World Socialist Web Site. It is a Trotskyist website. I am not even a Marxist, although I think Karl Marx had two valid insights.

I think the following news story is interesting, so I will post excerpts from it, followed by my commentary on it. I welcome responses, especially from shootersa, and stumbler. I like them both, and value their commentary.

    ----------

Republicans embrace fascist rant from Trump at CPAC conference, November 5, 2023, by Patrick Martin

The Conservative Political Action Conference held over the weekend in Maryland was dominated by ex-president Donald Trump, who...won the straw poll of delegates with 60 percent of the vote...

Trump’s speech, nearly two hours long, was clearly the main event. It was devoted to a combination of obsessive self-praise and virulent and repeated attacks on socialism, Marxism and communism. He attributed these terms to the Biden administration and the Democratic Party...

Trump took his vituperation of immigrants to a new level, claiming that the United States was becoming a “socialist dumping ground for criminals, junkies, Marxists, thugs, radicals, dangerous refugees that no other country wants,” and that Biden’s policies had created a “lawless open borders crime-ridden filthy communist nightmare.”...

In the style of fascist leaders of the 20th century, he combined this vilification of those he treated as subhuman with a pretense of concern for the living standards of working people...

[Trump made] attempts to split the working class along the lines of race, gender and nationality. He made ferocious denunciations of immigrants, gays and lesbians, and particularly the transgendered...

He closed with a Nazi-style characterization of the cities as centers of filth and moral pollution, which he would cleanse...

There was more than a whiff of Nazi “lebensraum” in the last comment, and the speech as a whole suggested that Trump had consulted the book of Hitler’s speeches which his first wife said was the only volume he had in his nightstand and which he regularly read.

    -----------

So, what do you think of all this? First, I do not think we should dismiss efforts to divide the American working class. For most people most of the time loyalties of class have been less powerful than loyalties of race, nation, and ethnicity.

I would like to read other accounts and other analyses of Trump's speech. Was it really as hysterical as the World Socialist Website would have us believe?

My response is of course negative, but I do not project my feelings onto others. There certainly is a constituency for this kind of thing. Millions of angry white men prefer to blame their problems on Trump's hate targets.

My prediction is that if the economy turns bad, and if there are two summers of urban riots - and both are very possible - Trump will be re elected in 2024. :arghh:

As president Trump will cut taxes for the rich, and end support for Ukraine, allowing Russia to conquer that country. :(
