At 12 noon on April 22, 1889, the Oklahoma Land Rush began. Settlers from across the nation assembled at the borders of the 'Oklahoma District' to lay claim to up to 160 acres of land.

At 11 p.m. on April 22, 1778, Commander John Paul Jones leads a small detachment of two boats from his ship, the USS Ranger, to raid the shallow port at Whitehaven, England, where, by his own account, 400 British merchant ships are anchored. Jones was hoping to reach the port at midnight, when ebb tide would leave the ships at their most vulnerable.

As Hitler's Nazi empire crumbles, members of the hierarchy attempt to negotiate peace with the western allies. Heinrich Himmler attempted peace negotiations via the Swedish government. Miscommunications between Hitler and Hermann Göring made Göring assume that he was in power to negotiate, resulting in his expulsion from the party and subsequent arrest order.

Amongst the chaos, US Army Chief of Staff George Marshall authorized SHAEF Commander Dwight Eisenhower to seek a ceasefire in the Netherlands for humanitarian purposes.
