‘#DeSaster’ Trends on Twitter Following Ron DeSantis-Elon Musk Interview Glitches

The hashtag #DeSaster became one of Twitter’s top trending topics in the U.S. on Wednesday after Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R-FL) 2024 presidential campaign launch on the platform was plagued with technical difficulties.

#DeSaster trended alongside “DeSantis” and “Failure to Launch” after many Twitter users were unable to tune in to DeSantis’ much-hyped Twitter Spaces event with billionaire Elon Musk.




While DeSantis technically announced his 2024 presidential campaign in a video just minutes before the Musk interview, the Twitter Spaces event was set to be DeSantis’ first campaign interview and a major moment of his launch.

Instead, the event was shut down after just 20 minutes due to continuous technical difficulties, which prevented many people from hearing what DeSantis had to say.




The issues were ridiculed on social media, including by President Joe Biden, who tweeted a link to his own campaign donation page along with the caption, “This link works.”

DeSantis’ Republican primary rival, former President Donald Trump, mocked DeSantis with a video comparing the governor’s shaky campaign launch to his own, while Fox News used the headline “AMATEUR HOUR” to describe DeSantis’ “disaster on Twitter.”


“DeSantis is making JEB! look high energy right now,” tweeted Donald Trump Jr.

I saw a video today that said there was a House Bill in Florida to allow the use of radioactive materials to be used in construction. I was like naw, that can't be right. I don't trust sources unless I see it myself these days. So I went to have a look...

HB 1191 would allow the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to study the use of phosphogypsum in paving projects as "construction aggregate material." Phosphogypsum is mildly radioactive fertilizer waste, which emits radon gas.

Well, ok is it dangerous though?

Yep, the Florida DOT will make roads out of mildly radioactive materials. I mean, what do you say to this? Here have an orange and bonus it's from Florida it glows in the dark. To top that off the guy running this circus just said he is running for President? IT'S FREAKING RADIOACTIVE. WHAT IS THERE TO STUDY?

So Radon happens to be something Shooter knows a bit about.
And radioactive shit.

See, in Colorado Radon gas is an issue. Some homes have been built over and near old mines (our first home in Colorado sat squarely on top of an old mine, 400' deep). The thing is, radon gas tends to collect in these old mines and then seeps up into homes. And yes, Radon is a carcinogenic. The thing is, dealing with it is really simple; air circulation. Radon is only dangerous when it collects in higher concentrations. A little air circulation solves the problem and makes even the old ladies at the state house happy. So most homes will have a blower that gently circulates the air in the basement. You don't even know it's there unless you look for it. A sump pump and a blower. In just about every home in Colorado.

When we sold our first house the buyer turned out to be a scientist who knew radon. He told us that Radon is of course part of the normal atmosphere and present in most homes. No big deal, he said, until one is exposed to high concentrations of the stuff for long periods. That, he said, has about the same adverse effect as smoking a pack of cigarettes a year.
Really.

So, building roads on a bed of phosphogypsum sounds about as bad as building running tracks out of ground up tires. Cause, you gotta admit, there is plenty of air circulation on roads, like, every time a car goes by, eh?

 

Shooter's favorite river, the Dolores, is in Southwest Colorado.

This is the same area where Madam Curie got her uranium ore to extract uranium and eventually create X Ray machines and after that die from radiation poisoning.
There are old mines all over the area, most of them old uranium ore mines.
There isn't any radiation danger from going into these mines, in fact it's more likely the damn thing will collapse on you, or you'll fall down a shaft, or step on a rusty nail.
But radiation danger?
Not really.
One might be exposed to slightly higher radiation by walking deep into a mine, but that would be a trade off from being shielded from the sun's radiation while you hiked to the mine opening.
And just you walking around in there would disperse any radon gas, which is also a by product of uranium mines.

The problem with America is that not enough is wrong with America.

 

Don't worry about it. Sirius will keep De Santis in Florida he is a non-starter.

In the last month he has pissed off the Black vote, the Latino vote, the LGBTQ+ vote, and the women's vote. He has zero chance once they start showing his record.

You should see the empty construction sites. The folks working the field now are so slow and quit so fast that they can't the crops out of the field.

He also has removed Hemmingway's for "Whom the Bell Tolls". Hemmingway... You just lost 90% of key west up to Marathon. Well done there! I have a whole list of those books if you want them.
