This is another vanity publicity stunt Trump has no intention of going through with. Trump can't. Because then he would have to get put under oath and get disposed. And proven he was in fact and in deed compromised by Putin/Russia.

Trump sues former British spy over claims he had been compromised by Putin

Donald Trump is suing a former British spy who first published claims that the then-presidential contender had been "compromised" by the Russian Security Service.

The United Kingdom's Press Association reported that former MI6 officer and founder of Orbis Business Intelligence, Christopher Steele, has had a data protection claim filed against him.

He was the author of the Steele Dossier, which made the claims that Trump had been compromised in the run-up to the 2016 election.

The Press Association reported that the legal action is scheduled to start in the country's High Court on October 16. Trump is not expected to attend.

Steele formerly ran the Russia desk for Britain's secret service, the MI6.

The Steele Dossier was leaked to BuzzFeed in 2017 and claimed that Putin had run an operation to "cultivate" Trump as a presidential candidate.

    Oh really?
Well, we know now that the Steele Dossier is little more than a pack of lies paid for by Clinton/the DNC and that it stepped all over about 10 FEC rules and laws, to say nothing of being one of the dirtiest political tricks in the history of dirty political tricks.
And we know that it was used to spy on the Trump campaign by none other than the DOJ/FBI in a sleazy attempt to impact the 2016 election.
And we know that no matter which soggy document one turns over in this scandal, we find Hillary underneath it all.

So good. Carry on Donald. You can't be on the ticket in 2024 but you can damn sure bring into the light just how corrupt and evil the DNC and the deep state are.

See if it works any better in the UK. But I don't see how it can since so many things in the Steele Dossier have been confirmed as true. And only a fraction proven false.

"Tremendous embarrassment": Trump runs to London court after U.S. judge rejected Steele dossier suit

Former President Donald Trump has alleged in a London-based lawsuit that former British Intelligence Officer

caused him "personal and reputational damage and distress" by leaking a dossier containing distasteful and unproven accounts of ties between him and Russia during the 2016 presidential race, The New York Times reports. Trump's attorneys argue that Steele's firm, Orbis Business Intelligence, breached British data protection laws with the file, the release of which triggered a political storm just ahead of Trump's 2017 inauguration.

The lawsuit, which was originally filed last November, could fair better for Trump in Britain than in the United States, where a Florida federal judge last year dismissed his lawsuit claiming that Steele, as well as Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee, was part of a plot to circulate false information about Trump's relationship to Russia. In a September court filing, lawyers for Trump said he was “compelled to explain to his family, friends, and colleagues that the embarrassing allegations about his private life were untrue. This was extremely distressing” for the former president, the filing continued, adding that Steele had leveled the claims in a "sensationalist manner" that was “calculated to cause tremendous embarrassment” to Trump. The former president seeks unspecified compensation.

The High Court judge presiding over the suit scheduled a two-day hearing for Oct. 16 and 17, during which attorneys for Steele will move to have the case thrown out. In a witness statement, Steele accused the former president of making "numerous public attacks" upon him and his firm, adding that Trump had launched "frivolous and abusive legal proceedings" against him and Orbis in the United States, a statement that mirrors the Florida judge's ruling.

Not a single allegation contained in the Steele Dossier has been proven true. Not a single one.

Trump committed egregious intelligence breach, ex-UK spy tells court

    LONDON (Reuters) -
Donald Trump's decision to declassify evidence given by ex-British spy Christopher Steele over the former U.S. president's alleged links with Russia led to the disappearance of two sources, Steele said in court documents made public on Tuesday.

Steele said in a witness statement that Trump's decision to declassify his 2017 testimony to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation was "one of the most egregious breaches of intelligence rules and protocol by the US government in recent times".

The former intelligence officer also said: "Two of the named Russian sources have not been seen or heard of since."

His witness statement was made public on Tuesday, the day after Trump asked London's High Court to allow his data protection lawsuit against a British private investigations firm co-founded by Steele to continue.

Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, is suing Orbis Business Intelligence over the "Steele dossier" in order, he said in his own witness statement, to prove its claims were false.

The dossier, published by the BuzzFeed website in 2017, alleged ties between Trump's campaign and Russia, and said Trump engaged in sexual behaviour that gave Russian authorities material with which to blackmail him.

Many of the allegations were never substantiated and lawyers for Trump, 77, said in court filings the report was "egregiously inaccurate", while the former president said it contained "numerous false, phoney or made-up allegations".

Orbis, however, says Trump is bringing the claim simply to address his grievances against the company and Steele.

    'UNTRUE AND DISGRACEFUL'

Steele had given evidence in an interview with two FBI agents as part of Mueller's probe into an alleged conspiracy between Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia.

Mueller concluded in 2019 that there was no evidence of a criminal conspiracy between Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia.

On the last day of his presidency, Trump declassified Steele's evidence and provided a copy of his testimony to a journalist, Steele said in his statement.

"The publication of this document did serious damage to the U.S. government's Russian operations and their ability to recruit new Russian sources," Steele said.

Steele also said in his witness statement that he believed Trump was "motivated by a personal vendetta against me and Orbis and a desire for revenge".

He suggested Trump's discovery of Steele's friendship with his daughter Ivanka had damaged their relationship and also "deepened his animus towards me and is one of the reasons for his vindictive and vexatious conduct towards me and Orbis".

In his witness statement, Trump said Ivanka was "completely irrelevant to this claim and any mention of her only serves to distract this court from (Orbis') and Mr Steele's reckless behavior".

"Any inference or allegation that Mr Steele makes about my relationship with my daughter is untrue and disgraceful," Trump added.

Ah. So that "ex-UK spy" (Christopher Steele) didn't like his lies publicized for the world to see, eh?
But leave it to American Hater to try and keep low information readers from understanding that it's CHRISTOPHER STEELE we're talking about here.

Trump and Ivanka's relationship was 'severely damaged' after he found out she was friends with Christopher Steele, the former MI6 agent says

    • Former MI6 agent Christopher Steele said that his friendship with Ivanka Trump hurt her relationship with her dad.

    • Their relationship was "severely damaged" by the revelation, Steele said on Tuesday.

    • The remarks come as part of the former president's case against Steele and his infamous dossier.
Former President Donald Trump's relationship with his daughter Ivanka broke down "severely" when the somewhat awkward news emerged that she had an undisclosed friendship with Christopher Steele, the former MI6 agent said on Tuesday.

Steele made the remarks in a witness statement as part of legal proceedings in London, where Trump is suing Steele's intelligence company over the now-notorious dossier on Trump that Steele wrote in 2016, as the Associated Press reported.

Trump, for his part, rejected Steele's testimony, including the comments about Ivanka.

Trump has accused Orbis Business Intelligence, Steele's company, of violating UK data protection laws with the dossier, which included many salacious allegations of compromising encounters between Trump and Russian figures.

Trump has always denied its contents, and some of its findings have not held up to scrutiny, as Insider's Sonam Sheth reported.

The dossier was closely examined by the FBI as part of its Trump-Russia probe. Those efforts were themselves put under scrutiny in a 2019 investigation by the DOJ's Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

Steele's testimony to that investigation brought forward numerous unexpected details — including his long-standing friendship with Ivanka.

Trump has referred to Steele as a "Trump hater," as Vanity Fair reported at the time. But Steele said he told the DOJ at the time that it was quite the opposite.

"I informed them that I had in fact had a friendship and professional relationship with Ivanka Trump . . . for several years," Steele said in his statement on Tuesday, according to The Times of London.

The Guardian reported in 2019 that Steele and Ivanka had a friendship dating back decades, and Steele had even gifted her a "family tartan from Scotland."

During the investigation, Steele said that "if anything he was 'favorably disposed' toward the Trump family," according to the report.

He even visited a family member — later revealed to be Ivanka — at Trump Tower, the report said.

But in his witness statement on Tuesday, Steele said that revealing this had led to trouble with the then-president.

"My understanding is that Ms Trump had not disclosed our relationship to her father," Steele continued, per the Times.

When Trump found out, it "severely damaged their relationship," he said.

Steele went on to attribute much of what he called Trump's "vindictive and vexatious conduct" toward him to Trump's rage over that friendship, the Times reported.

Representatives for Trump did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Per the Times, Trump's own witness statement called the reference to Ivanka "reckless," adding: "Any inference or allegation that Mr Steele makes about my relationship with my daughter is untrue and disgraceful."

Ivanka Trump served as a presidential advisor during the Trump administration and took to the stage in 2020 to introduce him at the RNC.

However, in recent years she and her husband Jared Kushner — formerly a Trump advisor and de facto campaign manager — have steadily distanced themselves from politics.

In 2022 Ivanka announced she was "done" with DC and she was later a no-show at her father's 2024 campaign announcement.
