MSNBC Continues to Embarrass Itself With Biased Hamas Coverage, Israeli Mom Claps Back at Andrea Mitchell

On Monday, Anti-Defamation League Director Jonathan Greenblatt torched the far-left news network MSNBC over its slanted coverage of Hamas in the wake of their savage terror attacks against Israel, angrily asking, “Who writes your scripts?”

On Tuesday, Andrea Mitchell was brutally embarrassed by an Israeli mom who wasn’t in the mood for the host’s biased questions. The poor mother was too terrified over the fate of her children to worry about the attackers:

An Israeli mother whose 12- and 16-year-old sons were abducted by Hamas terrorists was visibly irritated when MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked about Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, exclaiming: “I can’t be sympathetic.”

Mitchell, whose left-leaning network has drawn criticism for refusing to refer to Hamas attackers as terrorists, pressed the unidentified mom on her feelings about Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

The mother passionately explained the difference between terrorist actions and the legitimate Israeli response:

I can’t be sympathetic to animal human beings — well, they’re not really human beings — who came into my house, broke everything, stole everything, took my children from their bedrooms and took them to the Gaza Strip.

Israel never done that, and it will never do. So there is no symmetry! I’m sorry...

If you were dealing with a war who is between two countries, countries don’t take children hostages. I’m sorry. It’s against the laws of war. It’s against humanity. It’s against anything that we all believe in.

Every time we had missiles shot at us, I used to say to my children that they should be sympathetic towards the children of Gaza because they suffer a lot more than they do.

The savagery of the attacks has outraged anyone with a heart—babies murdered, hundreds slaughtered at a music festival, entire families wiped out. For Mitchell to put on her concerned face and apparently try to get this mother to show some sympathy for the attackers is loathsome.

The network has been heavily criticized for its ridiculous takes, and as I mentioned above, ADL Director Greenblatt blasted them, but so did Dan Abrams of NewsNation, who accused them of “victim blaming." Here's some of the coverage MSNBC has been delivering:

On Saturday, MSNBC’s Ali Velshi accused politicians speaking out against the atrocities committed against Israeli citizens of lacking “nuance.” The host, who previously worked for Qatari state-owned media outlet Al-Jazeera, also praised the government of Qatar for its statement that held “Israel alone responsible” for the attacks.

MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin, who also covered the news over the weekend, in one segment blamed the carnage on “failed policies” of the U.S., Israel and the surrounding region.

My colleague Susie Moore brought you the story Tuesday evening of how the founder of The Free Press, Bari Weiss, went on "Morning Joe" and "powerfully and unflinchingly detailed some of the atrocities visited upon the Israeli people by Hamas, while hosts Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and their panel sat in stunned silence."

Weiss also talked about the worried Israeli mother who is the subject of this story:

Another mother I spoke to — she asked that she remain anonymous because she is so scared that if her name is in public, it will make the lives of her children, who are held hostage, even worse. She was on the phone with her boys, age 12 and 16, as they hid in a safe room on another kibbutz at the south — a few kilometers from Gaza — and she heard her youngest child, 12 years old, begging not to be taken, because he said that he is too young. And she wants the world to know that this is not about an occupation — Israel does not occupy Gaza. It has not occupied Gaza since it pulled out almost a decade ago — ruled by Hamas. She said, "These are just teenagers, like anyone's teenagers. I am just a mother, like any mother who's watching this."

While there can be a humorous aspect to watching MSNBC beclown itself nightly, there's a very important aspect to it as well. The more they expose themselves as the left-wing propaganda machine that they are, the more viewers will start to realize that their often vile takes are simply not worth watching.

And I know Red State is lying more than usual abut this because I have been watching mostly MSNBC and all their coverage is incredibly biased in favor of Israel. Its been a constant parade of emotionally based coverage and Israeli propagandists. Which Israel has to have to get the world to look past what they are doing to innocent men women and children in Gaza. The majority of all Palestinians do not support Hamas. And even in Gaza about 40% of Palestinians don't support Hamas. And its a safe bet far more do not support this terrorist attack.

So Israel has to keep the world focused on the atrocities so people don't start asking if Israel is at war with Hamas why don't they go in and fight Hamas instead of just bombing all of Gaza killing hundreds of innocent men women and children where the Palestinian civilians cannot even escape?

And MSNBC is working overtime to help Israel from being asked that question.

Steve Scalise has been nominated House Speaker but the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans lied again when they said they would meet behind closed doors until they got someone who could get 218 (or actually its 214 votes now) in a floor vote. Scalise didn't even come close and the Jordan allies are still saying they won't vote for him as Speaker.

MSNBC's John Heilemann explained how chaos within the House Republican caucus had a ripple effect on global security.

The House GOP caucus will gather behind closed doors Wednesday to select their candidate for speaker after Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted last week, and the "Morning Joe" political analyst said that uncertainty in leadership undoubtedly harmed national security.

"How high can you count on the importance scale?" Heilemann said. "Pretty important. Look, what we saw last week in the deposing of Kevin McCarthy was a lot of things were in play there. The House Republicans were not, for that period of time, a functional majority to be able to run the House, under the most stressful circumstances, with the stakes as high as they could be on the world stage, is what will be on display today. This is a situation of great chaos and could be a lengthy prolonged circumstance, after McCarthy being knocked out, that the House Republicans are any more have their stuff together any more than last week, not a unity candidate. Both Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan are publicly and privately claiming to have the race locked up. Steve Scalise says don't pay attention to the public endorsement count. Jim Jordan, because he is perceived as a bomb thrower, a lot of questions whether that is something the House Republicans will be able to get behind and, as you said, a House without a speaker today or tomorrow but potentially through the end of the week."



"If the Republicans can't pull it together, which there's some chance this could take quite a long time, it is a very difficult and dangerous situation on the world stage," Heilemann added. "American leadership, as [President] Joe Biden pointed out, is essential. In terms of being able to do the kind of aid for Israel, you have to have a functional House. We don't have that right now."

“If he does become speaker, I gotta say it feels like it becomes basically an open question as to whether a House of Representatives under Jim Jordan’s leadership would ever certify the election results of an election in which Donald Trump ran,” the MSNBC host said on Monday.

Jordan, who actively supported Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election, is the Republican conference’s nominee for the speakership. An official vote is expected on Tuesday.

He would need 217 votes to be successful. He fell well short of that figure in an internal election on Friday and has been attempting to corral the votes he needs since.

Jordan was among the 147 Republicans in Congress who still voted to overturn the 2020 election even after a violent siege on Jan. 6, 2021.

He ignored subpoenas from the House Jan. 6 committee’s probe into the insurrection. He has also refused to divulge what he and Trump discussed in a 10-minute phone call on the morning of the attack, which delayed Congress’ certification of the 2020 election that Trump lost.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Tuesday couldn’t help but laugh at a Fox News push for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to become the next House speaker.

Hayes mocked an email that a staffer on Sean Hannity’s prime-time show sent to Republican lawmakers on the fence or outright opposing the Donald Trump-backed Jordan to replace ousted Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

The “All In” anchor reminded viewers of Fox News’ $787.5 million defamation lawsuit settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over baseless allegations made on the conservative network that Dominion’s equipment had flipped votes in the 2020 election from Donald Trump to Joe Biden.

Hayes summarized the “Hannity” email:

“So, one of the most powerful forces in conservative politics, a network that pretty recently, I don’t know, am I remembering this correctly, paid nearly $800 million to settle a lawsuit about its own involvement in the coup, is bullying individual members for Donald Trump and Jim Jordan so the coup team can get back together wielding their power. “

He added, “The message here is that Sean Hannity and Fox News will publicly punish you if you cross the leader of our party and his chosen speaker.”

Meanwhile, Jordan lost the first floor vote on his potential speakership on Tuesday night.

Gallup on Thursday released its annual poll of Americans’ confidence in the U.S. media and found that the number of people saying they have no trust “at all” in mass media had hit an all-time high of 39 percent.

The 2023 poll of 1,016 adult Americans from across the country registered an all-time high number of respondents who said described their trust in mass media as “none at all.” In 2016, 27 percent of those polled answered “none at all,” while in 2023 that number shot up to 39 percent – a devastating indictment of the public’s belief in established public facts and narratives.

The poll also found that only 32 percent of those polled had a “great deal” of trust that the “mass media” reports “news fully, accurately and fairly” – matching the all-time low established in 2016.

The poll’s summary, written by Gallup’s Megan Brenan, lays out in detail the ominous findings:

The latest poll, conducted Sept. 1-23, marks just the second time, along with last year, that the share of Americans who have no confidence at all in the media has surpassed the percentage with a great deal or fair amount of trust.

Gallup first asked this question in 1972 and has tracked it nearly every year since 1997. Trust ranged from 68% to 72% in three readings in the 1970s, and though it had declined by the late 1990s, it remained at the majority level until 2004, when it fell to 44%. After rebounding slightly to 50% in 2005, it has not risen above 47% since.

Trust cratered to 32 percent in 2016 as well, but began to rebound some in the following years. In 2018, 45 percent of those polled said they had a “great deal” of trust in mass media, but that number steadily declined back down to the 32 percent registered this year.

The poll’s summary noted that a major factor in the decline in trust was Democrats losing faith in the media. “Democrats’ confidence in the mass media has consistently outpaced Republicans’, but the latest gap of 47 points is the narrowest since 2016. Democrats’ trust in the media has fallen 12 points over the past year, to 58%, and compares with 11% among Republicans and 29% among independents.”

In 2016, Republicans’ trust in media dipped from 32 percent in 2015 to 14 percent, driving down the average to the record low. GOP faith in mass media has only dipped further since, hitting its lowest number in 2020 at only 10 percent and registering at 11 percent in 2023.

Gallup noted that Americans’ distrust in media coincides with a lack of faith in other institutions as well:

This low confidence reading for the fourth estate comes at a time when trust in each of the three branches of the federal government is also low.

In addition, Gallup in June found confidence readings in both TV news and newspapers that were near their historical lows and last December found a record-low-tying rating of the honesty and ethics of journalists.

The poll carries a margin of error of 4 percent.

Letitia James 'holding four aces' in fraud suit against Trump: Morning Joe

New York attorney general Letitia James slapped down Donald Trump's insulting attacks outside a courthouse where he's on civil trial for fraud, and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said that's a sign she's holding a good hand.

The former president was admonished by Judge Arthur Engoron to keep quiet following an outburst inside the courtroom, and the "Morning Joe" host was struck by the attorney general's comments afterward.

"He's called me venomous, disgraceful, radical, a racist – and this is only week three," James told reporters. "The reality is, is that none of his behavior, which can best be described as performative, will change what's happening in the courtroom. We are here to enforce the law, and nothing will change that – no attacks, no words. I will not give in, I will not give up. I will only serve justice and enforce the law."



Scarborough said those remarks showed the confidence James had in her case, which Engoron has already ruled she had proven before the bench trial even started.

"You know who that is – somebody smiling," Scarborough said. "That's somebody holding four aces while the person across the table is screaming and yelling. She's holding four aces because she's holding years and years and years of lies."

A total of 47 percent of Biden supporters held the view that the “government should regulate or restrict the expression of views considered discriminatory or offensive,” the poll, by the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics along with research firm InnovateMR found. It compares with 35 percent of Trump supporters who held the same view.

Reporting the poll results in a section titled “Biden Voters Open to Undemocratic Means for Achieving Left-Leaning Ends,” the center’s survey also found that 31 percent of Biden followers believed it was “necessary to limit certain rights, like freedom of speech, to protect the feelings and safety of marginalized groups. A total of 25 percent of Trump supporters believed the same.

On the contentious issue of gun control in the United States, Democrats were more than twice as likely as Republicans (74 to 35 percent, respectively) to approve of measures “to restrict the number and types of firearms available to the public, irrespective of interpretations of the Constitution.”

The poll also examined the issue of wealthy Americans and whether “above a certain limit, (wealth) should be redistributed to address income equality.” It found that 56 percent of Biden supporters agreed while 39 percent of Trump followers were in favor of such a policy.

President Biden’s administration was found by a federal appeals court ruling in September to have violated free speech by pressuring social media companies like Facebook to censor posts discussing the origin of the covid-19 pandemic. Facebook internal memos among executives seen and reported by the Wall Street Journal also mentioned the Biden censorship request.

The poll also asked respondents if a “law should be enacted that limits protests and demonstrations deemed by the government to be potentially disruptive to public order.” Nearly half (45 percent) of Trump supporters agreed that legislation of that kind should be brought in, compared with 30 percent of those who intend to vote for President Biden in 2024.

Donald Trump raged against the criminal and civil cases against him in a dark campaign speech that MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski suggested was a sign of worsening mental health.

The former president told a crowd of supporters they shouldn't bother voting because elections were rigged, mixed up the leaders of Hungary and Turkey, and claimed to be the first person to notice the similarities between the abbreviation U.S. and the word "us," and the "Morning Joe" co-hosts raised concerns about his fitness for office.

"Donald Trump gave a campaign speech in New Hampshire yesterday," Brzezinski said. "Let's just say, in all seriousness, by the way, this is not a joke, if Joe Biden had said the things that Trump said, most Republicans would be calling for him to be put in an old age home."

Host Joe Scarborough mocked the ex-president's observations and expressed alarm over his praise for the Hungarian authoritarian leader Viktor Orbán.

"Orbán, of course, maybe he's never visited Turkey, I don't know, maybe the leader of Hungary has visited," Scarborough said. "But it's troubling to me, he calls Orbán one of the strongest leaders and says it in a wonderful way. Orbán, of course, shut down all of his opponents politically. He's tapped reporters' phones, he's destroyed independent news agencies. He's led phony tax investigations into reporters that were critical of him, chased them from the country, brags that he is an illiberal, that they have illiberal democracy and not western-style democracy. Again, this is a guy who keeps thinking he is running against Barack Obama – not doing well."

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace is putting Donald Trump in the dog house.

The former president left a New York courtroom in a huff on Wednesday as former attorney Michael Cohen testified against him in his fraud trial there. He was also fined $10,000 for insulting one of the judge’s clerks, a direct violation of a gag order in the case.

Trump, Wallace said on Wednesday, “couldn’t take the heat ― lost any ability to control his impulses.”

Then, she compared the former president to her dogs.

“I have vizslas, so all of the training of that breed is about impulse control: teaching them not to run after the squirrel and not to roll in horse poop,” she said. “Trump has less impulse control than a hunting dog. Couldn’t keep himself out of trouble.”

Trump loves to compare his opponents to dogs, saying, for example, that Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) “choked like a dog” during his 2012 presidential run and that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was “sweating like a dog” during a 2016 debate.
