Like that chicken shit Trump who ever showed up at the repukes debates. And didn't have the guts to admit he lost the 2020 election. Never conceded and never showed up at Biden's induration.

That's why I call him little big man. :kiss1:

And let's not forget Trump agreed to three debates with President Biden but the first one was such a disaster for him he chickened out on the other two and hasn't debated since. Trump's mental illness has reached the point he cannot function in environments he has not scripted and can't control. So just like a lot of the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans on this forum Trump does not dare try to debate.

And by the way "Little Big Man" was one of my favorite movies and just as phony as Trump. Which makes it a good analogy.

This is funny, totally predictable, and way too fucking late. The more Trump failed and his incompetence and crimes were exposed the more radical and extreme he became. And of course so did his cult followers. Including the far right evangelicals who were already so extreme the repulsed most Americans with the kill the gays and take up arms to kill liberals for God. And Trump just emboldened them. But now that extremism is really hurting the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans and they are getting wiped out at the polls. Because the extremism paints all of them with the same brush. So now there is a concerted effort to try and distance themselves from the far right extremists. Just like this. Don't even show up at this nutcase event because that is what is going to make all the headlines. But its too late. They have already moved to the extreme to garner the far right extremist religious fanatics. And fear if they don't show up they will turn against them. Which makes it a win/win for President Biden and the Democrats because they are campaigning against MAGA extremism. And if the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans try to move away from it that will splinter the base even more. And its been a nearly life long goal of the progressive/liberal/Democrats to splinter the Republicans who in the past have voted as a single block.

RNC warns 2024 contenders to steer clear of far-right evangelical forum in Iowa

    Robin Opsahl, Iowa Capital Dispatch
    November 10, 2023 6:21AM ET

The Republican National Committee has warned 2024 presidential candidates that speaking at the Family Leader’s Thanksgiving forum will prevent them from participating in future Republican presidential debates. But the Family Leader plans to move forward with the event, staff said Thursday, with at least three candidates who have confirmed they will attend.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, U.S. Sen. Tim Scott and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have all told the Family Leader that they plan to be at the Des Moines event Nov. 17, which advertises itself as a space for presidential candidates to “gather around the table to have a moderated, friendly and open discussion about the issues that are most important to evangelical Americans today.”

Though it is not a debate, the Family Leader has set polling thresholds for participation, requiring candidates to have a Real Clear Politics polling average of 4% or more in national or Iowa polls by Nov. 1. Along with the three candidates planning to attend, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump are eligible to participate, and have been invited, Drew Zahn, director of communications for the organization, said.

Haley is expected to attend, Zahn said, but “Trump’s reluctance to participate in other events leads us to believe he will not accept the invitation.”

Trump has skipped many typical caucus campaign stops like the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa, often choosing to hold his own separate rallies instead of appearing at events with other presidential candidates. This campaign style extends beyond Iowa: As 2024 candidates gathered for the third GOP presidential debate in Miami Wednesday evening, Trump held a rally 15 miles away in Hialeah, Florida.

An October letter from the RNC counsel to presidential candidates, first reported by Real Clear Politics, said the Family Leader’s planned round-table discussion of political issues is, “in other words, a debate.”

“Please be advised that any Republican presidential candidate who participates in this or other similar events will be deemed to have violated this pledge and will be disqualified from taking part in any future RNC-sanctioned presidential primary debates,” the counsel’s letter continued.

The RNC has a fourth debate scheduled for Dec. 6 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Family Leader staff say the RNC’s characterization is incorrect, disagreeing with the RNC’s position that the forum counts as an unsanctioned debate.

“In fact, have we held this same event twice before – in 2011 and 2015 – so we know from experience our event can be a win-win addition to the election process without in any way competing with the RNC’s debates,” Zahn wrote. “It’s just a completely different format and kind of event.”

The recent action from the RNC is not the only scrutiny the Family Leader has faced in recent weeks. On Tuesday, a Trump pollster released a memo to supporters and donors downplaying the influence of Bob Vander Plaats, the president and CEO of the Christian conservative organization.

Though Vander Plaats has yet to endorse any candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential field, the poll concluded that the Evangelical leader choosing to back DeSantis ahead of the Iowa caucus would not hurt Trump’s lead in Iowa. In previous years, Vander Plaats’ endorsement and Family Leader events have played an important role in the lead-up to the Iowa caucuses. He endorsed the eventual caucus winners in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

Though he has not endorsed a candidate, he has spoken against Trump winning the Republican nomination again in 2024. Vander Plaats said on social media that the Make America Great Again Inc. super PAC poll shows that Trump’s lead in Iowa is not as strong as he claims.

“If they’d ask me, I’d tell them my endorsement is worth one vote,” he wrote on X. “Mine. Their obsession with my potential endorsement highlights the fragility of their lead.”

What else can we expect from someone who thinks are veterans are suckers and losers.

Trump's Veteran's Day message draws comparisons to Hitler

Donald Trump has expressed anger at being compared to Adolf Hitler, but it's happening again after the ex-president's latest post honoring the Veteran's Day holiday.

On Saturday, Trump posted the following message to American veterans.

"In honor of our great Veterans on Veteran’s Day, we pledge to you that we will root out the Communists, Marxists, Fascists, and Radical Left Thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our Country, lie, steal, and cheat on Elections, and will do anything possible, whether legally or illegally, to destroy America, and the American Dream. The threat from outside forces is far less sinister, dangerous, and grave, than the threat from within. Despite the hatred and anger of the Radical Left Lunatics who want to destroy our Country, we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

That message struck some as familiar.

Media company MeidasTouch reported that Trump "echoes Hitler nearly verbatim" in his calls to destroy the "vermin," or liberals.

Tristan Snell, a former assistant attorney general in New York, added his take, as well.

Specifically, Snell quoted “This vermin must be destroyed. The Jews are our sworn enemies, and at the end of this year there will not be a Jew left in Germany.” — Hitler, 1939

Former Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger also pointed out the post.

"Meh. He's going to jail," Kinzinger wrote. "American veterans deserve a not insane leader."

Journalist Bill Grueskin said Trump's long-winded post is "a paragraph for readers who can't handle the subtle nuances of Mein Kampf," Hitler's book.

Another journalist, Radley Balko, wrote the following:

"The guy who's a coin flip to be the next president is using sort of language that has historically resulted in mass graves."

Presidential historian Michael Beschloss also chimed in.

"Today, 'in honor of our great Veterans,' ex-President demands on social media to 'root out the Communists, Marxists, Fascists and Radical Left Thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our Country,'" he wrote on Saturday. "Please tell us if this reminds you of any earlier historical figure."

We need to guard against the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican stupid and ignorant lies that Trump did not call our veterans "suckers and losers." And demanded that no wounded service members or veterans appear at his public events. "Because no one wants to see that."

John Kelly confirms Trump privately disparaged U.S. service members and veterans
Trump called fallen soldiers "suckers” and "losers" during his presidency, according to a 2020 report in The Atlantic.

Oh now come on, American hater.
You can do better than this.

Using a already disproven statement you attribute to Trump.
And a sketchy comparison to Hitler.
And wrong story just to finish icing your poop cake.

    Pretty juvenile.

There were multiple reports that Trump kept a cop of Mein Kampf on his night stand and studied it. Now I could not believe Trump has ever read a book in his whole life. But many observers and historians point out that statement is straight out of Mein Kampf. Trump has been very clear that if he gets re-elected he intends to create a fascist dictatorship.

And what used to be the Republican party supports him for that.

      Lower.
      You can go lower.
Why not "multiple reports" that Trump keeps a book of underage pornography by his bed?
You could start making comparisons to his statements and pedophilia.

You people are simply not competent anymore.

The term "shocking moment" is another one of those usually over hyped TV buzz phrases. But not this time.Tim Scott not only shocked the TV hoses he shocked the majority of his campaign workers who knew nothing about Scott deciding to drop out of the race until they saw it on TV.

Tim Scott critics pounce after he leaves staffers high and dry by pulling plug on campaign

Sen Tim Scott's surprise announcement on Fox News late Sunday that he is suspending his moribund bid to be the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee was greeted by shock from his staffers — and no small amount of amusement by critics of the South Carolina Republican.

Appearing with former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) Scott, who trailed far behind Donald Trump in the polls and never moved the needle despite months of campaigning, told Gowdy, "When I go back to Iowa it will not be as a presidential candidate. The voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet … They’re telling me, ‘Not now, Tim.’ I don’t think they’re saying, Trey, ‘no,’ but I do think they’re saying, ‘not now.’”

ABC reported the sudden announcement was not received well by his campaign staff.

"The senior staffer characterized the experience as incredibly frustrating, saying that staff had been working around the clock to accommodate the move, only to completely reverse it. As with the campaign worker who said Scott's staff found out about his departure by watching the senator on TV, the worker was not authorized to discuss the internal deliberations publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity," the report stated.

That set off a tidal wave of commentary on X, formerly known as Twitter, with noted polling analyst Larry Sabato writing, "Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has suspended his presidential campaign. Another one bites the dust. Don't bother trying to figure out where his votes go. There aren't enough to measure."

Former GOP campaign consultant Rick Wilson weighed in with, "Tim Scott; another billionaire donor-bait candidate without the skills or charisma to do the hard work of campaigning," before adding Monday morning, "It's going to be a great week. First, Tim Scott's campaign is really taking off... Oh. Wait."

MSNBC contributor Sam Stein noted that the Scott campaign was completely unaware of what was to come, to the point that they had, moments before, just sent out an email seeking campaign contributions.

He wrote, "If you were someone who decided to give to Tim Scott's presidential campaign 20 minutes ago, when they sent a fundraising email, I'd be interested in hearing from you."

Comedian Paula Poundstone, echoing multiple comments about Scott's' just revealed girlfriend, joked, "Tim Scott dropped out of the Presidential race. I wonder if he'll have to give the girlfriend back."

Fellow comedian and commentator DL Hughley jumped on the girlfriend bandwagon too, writing: "Damn! #TimScott suspends his campaign? That means he went out and got a girlfriend for nothing! #TeamDl"

"Tim Scott dropping out tells me one thing: DC needs new consultants… They advise to kiss up to trump despite him being the front runner… and think you can win. Flush the pro trump consultants," former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) pointed out.

PoliticusUSA analyst Sarah Reese Jones noted, "Most of Sen. Tim Scott’s South Carolina staff was sent to Iowa. They didn’t know that their boss was quitting his campaign, and now they are stuck in Iowa."

Former congressional aide to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Gary McCoy, referenced Scott's opposition to abortion rights, with a pithy: "Tim Scott should have to carry his campaign to term."

CNN Studio Cracks Up Over Trump Advisers Noticing That All Those Hitler Headlines Are Not Optimal
    Tommy ChristopherNov 16th, 2023, 2:00 pm

CNN stars cracked up over reporting that former President Donald Trump’s advisers have digested the seemingly obvious news that being in headlines with Adolf Hitler for a week is not optimal.

A passage from Trump’s Veterans Day speech in New Hampshire is being widely pilloried as echoing the likes of Hitler and Benito Mussolini. — and has garnered several weeks worth of headlines in just a few days.

On Thursday morning’s edition of CNN This Morning, Semafor’s Shelby Talcott cracked up co=anchors Phil Mattingly and Poppy Harlow and their panel by reporting that behind the scenes, Trump advisers admit the Hitler stuff is not “a positive” for Trump.

But perhaps equally as obviously, Talcott reported at least one Trump adviser sees a silver lining as well:

HARLOW: Some other interesting reporting you have, Shelby, on Trump’s team’s reaction to the blowback they’ve gotten from him using the term “vermin” to describe his political opponents.

TALCOTT: Yes, it’s been really interesting because Biden’s team has obviously jumped on this. And not just jumped on the vermin comment, but jumped on the various reporting we’ve seen about Trump’s potential policy plans for the next administration. And I think that’s where team Biden thinks they’re going to be really effective is reminding voters this is who Trump is, this is what he plans to do.

But on Trump’s side, his aides have privately admitted that it is obviously not a positive for him to be in the same headline as Hitler and – and – and these types of dictators.

    (laughter)

AVLON: It’s a great concession to reality!

    MATTINGLY: Astute. astute, political observation!

TALCOTT: But they also have argued that — I had one person say to me that they saw hundreds of chyrons over the past few days that said “Trump calls Democrats vermin,” and they said that’s an effective message at least in a primary.

MATTINGLY: That is one way to look at it. The reporting is great, and Semafor’s Shelby Talcott, Joyce, John, we appreciate you.

Watch above via CNN This Morning.

Trump's holy crusade: Christian evangelicals flock to his version of a "final solution"

The Iowa caucuses are right around the corner and even Donald Trump has deigned to appear in the state recently despite his obvious belief that it's beneath him to have to compete for the nomination he, and everyone else, knows is already his. But he does enjoy his rallies. So he's clearly decided that it's time to gather the flock just to make sure they all know what's expected of them.

Here's a sample of what he's talking about on the campaign trail these days:

Hannah Knowles of the Washington Post reported from this weekend's rally:

Children wandered around in shirts and hats with the letters “FJB,” an abbreviation for an obscene jab at President Biden that other merchandise spelled out: “F—- Biden.” During his speech inside a high school gym in Fort Dodge, former president Trump called one GOP rival a “son of a b——,” referred to another as “birdbrain” and had the crowd shrieking with laughter at his comments on Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), who he called “pencil neck” before asking, “How does he hold up that fat, ugly face?”

He brought the house down while mocking Biden, at one point baselessly suggesting Biden is using drugs and can’t get offstage “by the time whatever it is he’s taken wears off.” ... And outside the packed venue, vulgar slogans about Biden and Vice President Harris were splashed across T-shirts: “Biden Loves Minors.” “Joe and the Ho Gotta Go!” One referred to Biden and Harris performing sexual acts.

Yes, they're all just letting their freak flags fly, no holds barred. Not that this is entirely new. Republican gatherings like CPAC going back decades used to feature racist and misogynist merchandise, and there were many speakers who made crude comments about their Democratic rivals. But it is unprecedented for the candidate himself to wallow around in the gutter with them.

He's also been posting more Nazi-esque statements on his social media platform. This weekend he seemed to be proposing a "final solution" for his enemies:

Meanwhile, in another town in Iowa, Trump skipped out on what would have been required attendance in Iowa GOP presidential primaries in the past: A meeting with Christians to talk about the issues that are important to them. This one was called the Family Leader's Thanksgiving Family Forum. Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy were there to go through the motions and pretend that they might have a chance to win. (A recent Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa poll found 43% of likely Republican voters choose Trump compared with 16% each for Haley and DeSantis.) The forum convener, Bob Vander Plaats, was once considered an Iowa kingmaker but he's broken with Trump and it doesn't appear that he has the juice to bring anyone else over the line. He opened the forum by beseeching the candidates to "raise the bar" — and by comparison to Trump, they managed to do that.

Mostly, they talked about their faith and abortion with both Ramaswamy and DeSantis discussing their wives' miscarriages and Nikki Haley making news by saying that she would happily sign a 6-week abortion ban. (She issued her standard disclaimer that she doesn't think that's possible on a federal basis right now, as if that somehow qualifies as a moderate position.) It was all pretty standard Republican evangelical pandering.

But it's quite clear from the polling that most conservative evangelical Christians like the libertine, gutter-snipe Donald Trump even more than the rest of the Republican Party. They are the strongest pillar of his following. So attempting to pry them loose with appeals to decency is a waste of breath. There have been billions of pixels spent trying to figure out why they like him, and I suppose there are many reasons. But recent polling by the Public Religion Research Institute found that one-third of white evangelicals favor political violence so Trump's insurrection obviously holds major appeal to a lot of them. And no doubt they love his commentary about barring people who "don't like our religion" from entering the country:

“I will implement strong ideological screening of all immigrants. If you hate America, if you want to abolish Israel, if you don’t like our religion (which a lot of them don’t), if you sympathize with jihadists, then we don’t want you in our country and you are not getting in.”

And, as we know, Trump has lately taken to vowing to demolish, expel, drive out, cast out, and evict all the people they don't like from America as well. Apparently, it's all music to their ears.

Trump's recently been getting some big endorsements from important office holders and there's one in particular who represents conservative evangelicals in an extremely powerful position. That would be the new Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, whose affiliation with the most extreme forms of Christian Nationalism is only now coming into focus. According to NPR, Johnson is a leading member of the far-right New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement, which seeks to dissolve the separation between church and state by “any means necessary.” Johnson has spent his entire career as a lawyer and an elected official in service of that goal.

Kimberly Wehle, a professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, took a look at his litigation history to see what it says about how he applies these beliefs to the constitution and you won't be surprised to learn that his legal principles are entirely inconsistent. In fact, the only thing consistent about his position is the idea that America is meant to be a Christian theocracy.

For Christians like Johnson, Trump is just a blunt instrument to be used to advance his cause which he believes must be attained by any means necessary. Whatever else he represents is of no consequence.

It's actually a little different for the MAGA rank and file. The Post's Knowles spoke with some of them at Trump's Iowa rally:

“Joe’s gotta go,” said Lori Carpenter, 59, as she left the Fort Dodge event.“And the ho shouldn’t have been there in the first place.” The “ho” was Harris, she clarified, before offering another nickname for Harris that was even more vulgar. “It doesn’t bother me,” she said of Trump’s insults and crudeness.

Her relative, 71-year-old Marsha Crouthamel, agreed. "It doesn’t bother me either because his policies are strong,” she echoed, adding that Trump got a lot of laughs and added, “Sometimes you just gotta excite people a little bit.”

“We’re Christians, and we can look past that,” Carpenter said. “We see the good that he did our country when he was in.”

To these Trump-loving evangelicals, being a Christian means never having to say you're sorry. And that's one thing they definitely have in common with their Dear Leader Donald Trump.

Former President Trump turned his ire onto influential Iowa evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats after he announced his endorsement of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis earlier this week.

“Bob Vander Plaats, the former High School Accountant from Iowa, will do anything to win, something which he hasn’t done in many years,” Trump wrote Saturday on Truth Social. “He’s more known for scamming Candidates than he is for Victory, but now he’s going around using Disinformation from the Champions of that Art, the Democrats.”

“I don’t believe anything Bob Vander Plaats says,” he continued. “Anyone who would take $95,000, and then endorse a Candidate who is going nowhere, is not what Elections are all about!”

In his endorsement Tuesday, the evangelical leader told Fox News’s Brett Baier that Republicans need “somebody who can win in 2024.” His backing comes two weeks after Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds put her support behind the Florida governor.

He also pointed to significant losses in 2022, claiming “the supposedly red wave really only happened in Florida and in Iowa.”

“Gov. DeSantis took a reliable toss-up state in Florida and made it complete red, won by 20 points, won in demographics that we haven’t won in,” said Vander Plaats, who currently serves as the CEO and president of The Family Leader. “But he’s also done that by being a bold and courageous leader.”

Following the announcement, Trump’s campaign sent out a mocking email with the subject: “Bob Vander Plaat$ Endorses A Candidate Who Will Never Be President.”

“Over 150 faith leaders in Iowa are organizing their congregations for President Trump and not a single one demanded nearly $100k like Bob Vander Plaat$ did from Ron DeSanctus,” the campaign said in a statement. “When you are actually the leader of a movement like President Trump is, people are willing to support you for free,” the campaign said in a statement.

“Kim Reynolds’ endorsement won’t save Ron DeSanctus, and neither will Vander Plaat$’ endorsement,” they added.

The former president also hit Reynolds ahead of her expected endorsement, claiming she had been “disloyal”

At the time, Trump said her decision would mark “the end of her political career,” adding that “MAGA would never support her again.”

“Two extremely disloyal people getting together is, however, a very beautiful thing to watch,” he wrote on Truth Social. “They can now remain loyal to each other because nobody else wants them!!!”

DeSantis also secured the endorsement of Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) on Saturday.

Still, Trump remains the front-runner in the Republican presidential race, according to national polling.

There are less than 60 days until the Iowa caucuses officially kickstart the 2024 primary season.

Romney says any Democrat would be ‘an upgrade’ over Trump in 2024

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) signaled that nearly any candidate in the 2024 field, of either party, would be an “upgrade” over another term for former President Trump.

“I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans — maybe not Vivek [Ramaswamy] — but the others that are running would be acceptable to me, and I’d be happy to vote for them,” the retiring senator said Friday in an interview with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell.

“I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats too,” he continued. “It would be an upgrade, in my opinion, from Donald Trump and perhaps also from Joe Biden.”

Romney announced in September that he will not seek reelection, sparking a wave of gloating insults from Trump and his allies.

“Mitt Romney, sometimes referred to as Pierre Delecto, will not be seeking a second term in the U.S. Senate, where he did not serve with distinction,” Trump wrote in all caps on Truth Social when Romney announced his retirement, referencing the pseudonym Romney used for a private Twitter account.

Romney, 76, cited his age in his retirement message.

“Frankly, it’s time for a new generation of leaders,” he said. “They’re the ones that need to make the decisions that will shape the world they will be living in.”

The Utah senator has been one of Trump’s most vocal critics among Senate Republicans.

He voted to impeach Trump twice and has continuously marked the former president as a danger to the country.

The Utah Republican’s biographer late last month suggested the animosity between the former president and senator is so heavy that he could even opt to endorse Biden later in the election.

“I would keep an eye out for whether Romney does something like endorse Joe Biden late in the election,” Coppins said in an October interview with “The Press Box” podcast. “I mean, I have no idea, I haven’t talked to him about this. I would not be shocked if he did.”
