Need some troubleshooting help. I published a story like forty minutes ago, but when I click "My Stories" it is still shown in Edit mode. How do I fix this? Or what is going on anyway?

 

It needs to get approved first then it will be marked published.

 

I am fairly new. I have posted a few stories but have noticed that most have a more prominent title display with a blue dot and a bigger font. I can probably manage the bigger font, but how do we get the blue dot?

 

Appreciate comments and/or suggestions.

Same issue here. I submitted a story days ago and only says edit or delete. How long does it take to be approved and posted generally? I do notice that I do not see many stories posted after the end of March which makes me think it could take a week or so to post new stories. Not sure.

I have no doubt that moderating is a thankless and at times soul-crushing job. I wonder if this site should go the way of Lushstories and have the mod team look to consistently good authors and reach out to them for community volunteer support. I've been having the most annoying of problems. I've submitted a story thrice now, called 'the TA and the Tease,' and whenever it's been published, the story section itself has been blank. It's fine when I edit it, it even looks normal after I publish it, but once it gets approved and has its own page: blank. Strange. I wonder if the story submission system has any new quirks - I remember from the past that it hates the word "script" so much it blots it out.

I'm also disappointed to see this site hasn't lost its Nouveau Wild West structure it got ever since voting was capped. It's rare to see most stories on the top last 30 days' posts stay above 90% for long, including many that vehemently deserve it. I can also see some more have embraced the cutthroat attitude some believe is a necessity to remain on top, even though it harms us all - a lot of stories on the Top Last 30 Days have a downvote from Limnophile, a prolific contributor, despite a lot of the downvoted stories being fine. How unfortunate. Between the bugs, slow turnaround, and wartime-esque state of voting percentages, I can't blame people for not wanting to get accounts and comment on stories. There are a good few problems present, but sadly we as community members can do little about it without structural change coming from the top.

 

Yeah, I posted my first story last week. I found the process a bit confusing with no explanation as to how long it takes to post. Just keeps saying it's in edit mode. I found out via this forum that it can be days for approval. I am still waiting. In fact I see few new stories posted at all past the end of March. It is now April 9. Not sure why it takes so long to post stories. An expanation as to the process on the posting page would be helpful. I do understand Admins get busy and have a lot to deal with. So some sort of outline would be most helpful for us newbies.

 

So I was told by admin the story I submitted violated a rule. I edited it and hit "save." Will it automatically be resubmitted for review? It's been a couple days and shows the posting date as the original date not the new updated time. Will they know to review it again or do I need to contact someone?
