MSNBC Gushes About Biden’s WHCD Performance: ‘Proves That He’s Sharp, And Gets it’

    Joe DePaoloApr 28th, 2024, 10:35 am

President Joe Biden drew raves for his performance at Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner from the crew at MSNBC.

Shortly after the event wrapped, host Ayman Mohyeldin and a roundtable panel threw bouquets at the president.

“Just like last year, just like he does at the state of the Union, he steps up for these big events,” said Rick Wilson — co-founder of the Lincoln Project. “He proves that he is sharp and gets it. And this isn’t some guy who’s doctoring along. He understands how big this fight is. He understands how important the calling of this moment is. Yeah, and I think he really did very well tonight.”

“The call to action was impressive,” Mohyeldin added. He went on to cite a quip from the 81-year-old Biden in which he said, “age is an issue. I’m a grown man running against a six-year-old.”

“I think he kind of took the age issue, spun it and played it to his advantage like a smart politician would,” Mohyeldin said. “He’s not shying away from it. He acknowledges it. But also acknowledges that with that comes this tremendous vision, this ability to be able to kind of, distance themselves from the other, senile guy that he’s running against.”

“I think that he showed that he was the adult in the room,” said Zerlina Maxwell — a host on SiriusXM’s Progress channel. “That age is not something that is hurting him. That it is actually one of his assets because of the experience that he has.”

Well of course MSNBC would praise biden.

They glladly gush over his "we cut the deficit by $1 TRILLION" and breathlessly defend his cannibal story.

Brutal MSNBC Report On Trump Sleeping In Court ‘A Lot’: Lawyers Trying ‘Different Devices To Keep Trump Awake’
    Tommy ChristopherApr 30th, 2024, 3:17 pm

MSNBC Legal Correspondent Lisa Rubin torpedoed ex-President Donald Trump for sleeping in court again, reporting the defense has tried “a number of different devices” to keep Trump awake — without much success.

Trump’s trial on 34 felony counts of allegedly falsifying business records to pay off porn star Stormy Daniels has been marked by an embarrassing theme. Since it was first reported that Trump fell asleep in court, the man who nicknamed his rival “Sleepy Joe” has been caught napping in court at least half-a-dozen times.

Rubin and MSNBC contributor Sue Craig were on hand to report live from the hush money election interference trial on Tuesday’s edition of MSNBC’s Chris Jansing Reports, during which Rubin detailed the measures Trump’s team have taken to try and keep him awake:

CHRIS JANSING: Really quickly if I can. Lisa, your observations on Donald Trump today.

LISA RUBIN: Sleeping! I guess they have tried a number of different devices. Yeah, sleeping for a lot of it. I would say they’ve tried a number of different devices to keep Trump awake.

Partially in response, or what appears to be in response to collective press corps observations. So, for example, when there are sidebars, an attorney doesn’t leave his side anymore because leaving him alone means leaving him to potentially sleep.

He has a stack of papers with him at all times now to go through, but neither of those things seem to have protected Trump from his own exhaustion today.

More than, you know, more than not, when I looked up to see how Trump was receiving the testimony, Trump was not receiving it at all because his eyes were closed.

SUE CRAIG: I want to make a differential. We don’t know if he’s sleeping. His eyes are sometimes closed. It could be because he’s trying not to react. It could be because he’s listening.

We have seen him at times sleeping, but I think at times today he was also — especially when Keith Davidson got up — he was, I thought, he was attentive to the testimony and he was popping mints into his mouth.

So I think, you know, it depends, given, I think who’s up and where we are in the testimony.

    CHRIS JANSING: Now —

LISA RUBIN: I would say the morning did not hold his interest.

    (laughter)

    SUE CRAIG: Yeah.

    CHRIS JANSING: That’s safe.

Fox News viewership crushes CNN, MSNBC in April as ‘The Five’ finishes as most-watched show on cable news

Fox News viewership crushes CNN, MSNBC in April as ‘The Five’ finishes as most-watched show on cable news
    Story by Brian Flood
    • 17h •

Fox News Channel finished April as the most-watched cable news network, crushing MSNBC and CNN once again.

Fox News has now topped MSNBC and CNN for 38-straight months among total viewers and for 39-straight months during primetime.

Fox News averaged 1.3 million total day viewers, finishing April as the only network on basic cable to surpass the one-million viewer mark. MSNBC finished second with 864,000 average viewers and ESPN finished third with 784,000.

During primetime, Fox News averaged 1.9 million to finish with a 202% lead over CNN and 58% advantage over MSNBC.

"The Five," which recently finished the first quarter of 2024 as cable’s high-rated program for the 10th straight quarter, averaged 3 million viewers to finish as the most-watched show in cable news during April as Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, Jeanine Pirro and rotating co-hosts Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford Jr. remain on top.

"Jesse Watters Primetime," "Hannity," Gutfeld!" and "Special Report with Bret Baier" rounded out the top five as Fox News aired 92 of the top 100 telecasts in cable news during April.

"Gutfeld!" averaged 2.1 million viewers to outdraw CBS’ "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," ABC’s "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," NBC’s "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon," and "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

When it comes to the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54, Fox News averaged 156,000 total day viewers compared to 88,000 apiece for CNN and MSNBC. During primetime, Fox News averaged 219,000 viewers from the critical category while MSNBC had 114,000 and CNN finished with 113,000.

During the jam-packed month of April, Fox News was home to the top six programs in cable news and the top 14 programs among the demo. "Gutfeld!" averaged 295,000 demo viewers to finish as the No. 1 cable news program in the critical category.

Along the way, Fox News continued to be America’s go-to network for breaking news as more viewers tuned into the network than CNN and MSNBC for coverage of Iran’s attack on Israel and Israel’s retaliatory strike on Iran.

"FOX News @ Night" with Trace Gallagher" also dominated its timeslot and "FOX & Friends" finished as the most-watched morning show on cable for the 38th straight month.

"America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino," "The Faulkner Focus," "Outnumbered," "The Story with Martha MacCallum," and "Your World with Neil Cavuto" also had strong months to help keep Fox News as the No. 1 news network on cable.

"The Big Weekend Show" averaged 1.3 million viewers to finish as the top show on Saturdays, while "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo" averaged 1.6 million for the Sunday crown.

Fox News is also home to the most politically diverse audience as more Democrats and Independents watch FNC than CNN and MSNBC, according to data from Nielsen MRI Fusion.

As I have said before this is part of Trump's fresh hell at his hush money trial. People he despises showing up at the trial to watch him twist in the wind and there's not a fucking thing he can do about it.

And Trump's hatred of Lawrence O'Donnell when O'Donnell pointed out Trump was lying about where he was at and what he was doing on 9/11. Trump threw a fit and threatened to sue him. But O'Donnell called his bluff and just kept pouring it on. And of course Trump never sued. Then over they years O'Donnell knew Trump hate watched his show. And it was hilarious to watch him bait Trump into responding proving he was watching. So yeah I bet O'Donnell would be one of the last people he would want to see at his trial.

Lawrence O'Donnell Interprets Why Trump Glared 'Directly' At Him In Court

Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday evening analyzed why Donald Trump seemed to look right at him on his way out of criminal court earlier that day.

Multiple journalists reported that the former president stared at the MSNBC host as he exited the Manhattan courtroom where his hush money trial is taking place.

The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman said Trump was “squinting strangely” at O’Donnell. MSNBC contributor Adam Klasfeld said Trump turned his head “directly” toward O’Donnell, glowered and muttered under his breath.

“It seems Donald Trump wasn’t really pleased to see me,” O’Donnell, who was seated at the front of the gallery, told viewers on “The Last Word.”

“I have my interpretation of what Donald Trump’s face and eyes were trying to say to me, and what drove him to create a final moment in the courtroom today that was worthy of New York Times reporting,” he added.

He noted that Trump’s close adviser, Boris Epshteyn, was “sitting in the front row reserved for the Trump family members, who did not show up once again” — right in front of O’Donnell’s own seat.

“He should have told Donald Trump, ‘When you walk by O’Donnell, don’t give him the satisfaction of making a moment about him,’” he said.

“But defendants like Donald Trump always make mistakes in courtrooms — and mistakes are what has landed Donald Trump in criminal courtrooms.”

Trump is charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in an alleged attempt to mask payments intended to influence the 2016 election. Prosecutors say he participated in a “catch and kill” scheme to bury potentially damaging stories before the vote, including the one at the heart of the case, an alleged extramarital affair with porn star Stormy Daniels.

    "....... squinting strangely ..........."

    Let it go.
    Don't!
    Walk away.
    Seriously, it isn't worth it.

    Fuck it!

So, is squinting strangely the look one gets when trying to figure out, after a week in court, exactly what crime has been alleged?

The same thing came up during Hope Hicks' testimony. Trump is trying to use the Sergeant Schultz defense. He knew nothing. He saw nothing. But Hicks testified Trump insisted on personally approving everything.

Jen Psaki Recalls Shock At Hope Hicks' 'Major Question' For Her After Trump 2016 Win
    Lee Moran

MSNBC’s Jen Psaki on Sunday recalled being struck by the main thing tha0">Hope Hicks wanted to know when she visited the White House with then-President-elect Donald Trump after his 2016 victory.

Former Trump spokesperson Hicks sat down with then-Obama White House communications director Psaki to talk about the mechanics of the president’s media team.

“And of all the things she could have asked us about, and granted it was two days after kind of a shocking outcome of an election, she had one major question,” Psaki remembered on “Inside with Jen Psaki.” Hicks asked her: “How do you get the president to approve every statement that goes out in his name?”

Psaki explained to Hicks how, “If we need a statement to commemorate, say, National Pancake Day, the president doesn’t have to approve it. Obviously if it’s a more significant one, he does, he works with us on it.”

Hicks’ response “was interesting,” Psaki said. She reportedly said Trump “will want to approve everything.” “It made clear to me that when it came to all things PR, her boss was the definition of a micromanager,” Psaki said.

“Fast forward to Friday and that’s exactly how Hope Hicks portrayed Trump” in her testimony at the presumptive GOP nominee’s hush money trial when, said Psaki, Hicks essentially depicted him as “obsessed and controlling when it comes to his media coverage” and said he was “very involved” with his 2016 campaign.

The takeaway, Psaki said, was Trump was “intimately involved in minutiae of his 2016 campaign” and “if he was aware of the small things, how could he not be aware of the big things” such as payments made to porn actor Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair.

'Trump is getting even crazier' – and people inside his campaign know it: Morning Joe

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough reacted to Donald Trump's heavily spliced and edited interview with Fox News, saying his appearance demonstrated that he was increasingly "unmoored from reality."

The former president spoke at length to Will Cain, Pete Hegseth and Rachel Campos-Duffy following his conviction on all 34 felony counts last week in New York, and the "Morning Joe" host was disturbed by what he saw – although he admittedly did not watch the interview as it aired.

"I was not watching because I do my best not to watch live Donald Trump," Scarborough said. "I will go back, then I'll look at it later or read about it, are any people that are going to spew lies for as long as he did. But I started getting texts from people on the Biden campaign that I know, and they were like, 'Thank God the trial is over, this is the moment we've been waiting for – stay up there, Donald, keep talking, Donald.'"

ALSO READ: ‘Journalistic dystopian nightmare’: Inside a Tennessee college media meltdown

The former president continues to insist that president Joe Biden has directed his criminal prosecutions, but Scarborough said that notion was ridiculous for a number of reasons.

"Again, the idea that the Biden campaign or Joe Biden wanted Donald Trump locked down for six weeks, not going out, not sounding crazy, not sounding actually a lot crazier than he did four, five years ago, completely takes the wrong view of what's going on here," Scarborough said. "The Biden campaign loved what they saw on Friday, because they know what people on the inside of the Trump campaign know, and that is that Donald Trump is getting even crazier, even -- when I say crazier, I mean angrier, more unmoored from reality, and the one thing he has completely stopped doing is asking, 'Hey, what do you think of this? What do you think of that?' He's just completely raging and on his own."

Trump has done some really heartless and disgusting things. But using an American, Evan Gershkovich being held hostage by Putin for a political prop is right near the worst. And Trump is so mentally ill he can't see what a lose/lose if is for him. At best he is lying and just using the tragedy as a cheap political ploy no matter what that does to Gershkovich's family and loved ones. And at worst he's telling the truth and has a back channel to Putin telling him to keep him hostage until he gets elected. Either way its just sick. And treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans support this man.

'Obscene and disgusting': Trump trashed for new Putin claim

Early Thursday morning the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson and MSNBC's John Lemire pounced on Donald Trump's boast in a campaign-oriented clip that President Vladimir Putin will do him a favor and release Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich if he is re-elected.

Trump doubled down on the claim that he made in May, saying this week: “Evan Gershkovich, the reporter for The Wall Street Journal who is being held by Russia, will be released almost immediately after the election," before adding, "But definitely before I assume office, he will be home. He will be safe. Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, will do that for me. And I don’t believe he’ll do it for anyone else. And we will be paying nothing. Biden likes to pay massive numbers. We will be paying nothing. Thank you very much."

After Lemire shared the clip with the Washington Post columnist, Robinson expressed his disgust, explaining, "It's obscene. It is absolutely obscene and disgusting that he would use this as some sort of a campaign ploy."

ALSO READ: Michael Cohen, Red Finch and the fateful moment Trump lost the jury

"You know, the obvious question is, 'Okay, if you could get Vladimir Putin to release Evan, do it. Do it now,'" he continued. "The idea that, 'Oh, yeah, well, if you just vote for me, I will get him home,' it's just obscene, that's the only word for it."

"It does raise the question of what sort of communication he might or might not be having with Vladimir Putin, but he's probably making it all up, sending a signal to Putin not to release Evan until after the election," he added.

"I totally agree, just reprehensible is another word that pops to mind," Lemire replied.

Its always interesting to look back.

That was from November 2017 . And since then its not just rural Americans that are a threat to democracy. What used to be the Republican party has turned against democracy, refuse to live under the Constitution, and have become treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans who want to end democracy and make their Chosen One Traitor Trump a dictator. Even I never could have imagined they cold hate the United States of America that much after everything this country has given all of us.

Also I highlighted one of the most common things about treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans and something we see here on our forum all the time. Direct contradictions. Donalds is trying to push the false propaganda talking point that civil rights and LBJ's war on poverty hurt Black people instead of helping them. But when pressed on it Donalds ends up saying he is "blessed" to live in America today.

'You brought it up!' MSNBC's Joy Reid confronts Byron Donalds for praising Jim Crow era

MSNBC's Joy Reid confronts Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) (image via MSNBC / screengrab).

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) came on MSNBC with Joy Reid to defend his recently revealed comments at a Black Americans for Trump gathering that "during Jim Crow, the Black family was together" and former President Lyndon Johnson and welfare programs destroyed those family values.

It didn't go well for him.

"The stuff that comes up about Jim Crow, and twisting my words saying I was being nostalgic or Jim Crow was good for Black people, that's all political spin. It's a lie," said Donalds, a close ally of former President Donald Trump and a shortlister for his vice presidential running mate. "It's gaslighting and that's truly unfortunate."

ALSO READ: ‘That's the Kool-Aid’: Republicans triple down on Trump the morning after guilty verdict

"Here's the challenge, Congressman," said Reid. "You started out talking about your family, talking about your mom, talking about being raised. And you on your own brought up Jim Crow. In fact, you said Jim Crow three times for emphasis. It wasn't the media or the Democrats or gaslighters who brought up Jim Crow. It was you. You brought up Jim Crow. So why did you use Jim Crow specifically as your reference? You did that, no one else did that, you did it."

"I did," admitted Donalds. "We were having a conversation, just talking, Black people in Philadelphia. But if you're going to use the chronological timeline of America before the Great Society and Lyndon Johnson's time period, you had, unfortunately, the Jim Crow era in America. During that time period, the marriage rates of Black Americans was significantly higher than any other time since then in American history. So it is a divergence if you're talking about marriage rates in the Black community."

After a bit more back and forth, Donalds reiterated, "I want to be clear, higher in the Jim Crow era to mean that I think Jim Crow was great, that's a lie. That is gaslighting. I would never say such a thing, which is why the Jim Crow era—"

"You brought it up," interjected Reid. "You brought it up. You're the one who brought it up. Let's get one more question ... the poverty rate during Jim Crow was 55.1 percent. More than half of families were impoverished. You also said, during Jim Crow, more Black people were not just conservative, Black people have always been conservative-minded but Black people voted conservatively. Black people weren't allowed to vote at all during Jim Crow."

"First of all, there were areas in the United States where Black people did vote," said Donalds.

"Last question, and then I'm going to let you go. One more question," said Reid. "During Jim Crow, could your family have existed? You are in an interracial marriage. Your wife, and a white conservative activist. Could your family have existed at all during Jim Crow?"

"No, it could not, and we all know that," said Donalds. "That's why I'm blessed to live in America today, as opposed to America during that time. But we cannot ignore the realities of not having fathers in homes. That is important to our Black people today and all people today as we move forward toward a better America."

    Bitch is a mental case!

MSNBC's Joy Reid calls Missouri a 'slave state' with women the property of their husbands and the government
Reid warned that women in Missouri can 'become the property of both your husband and the state'.

MSNBC host Joy Reid declared the state of Missouri a "slave state" for women on Wednesday.

Reid made the claim during a segment about the debate around contraception bills that has raged in the U.S. Senate as well as several states.

"Let me tell you how crazy it’s gotten in Missouri," MSNBC analyst and former Missouri Democratic senator Claire McCaskill told Reid. "Abortions — all abortions are illegal. There’s no exception for rape or incest. Conception happens — life begins at conception, it’s a personhood state. Okay? So, no abortions are being performed at Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood got money as a Medicaid provider to do what - provide contraception."

"And what did the Missouri legislature do this year, and what did the governor sign into law? Making sure [Planned Parenthood] got no money to provide contraception to women to prevent abortions. It is so nuts, Joy. It’s nuts," she said.

"And you’ve left off, Claire, that in your state it’s illegal for a pregnant woman to get an abortion, so they’ve also gone after no-fault divorce," Reid responded. "So if you’re pregnant, and you’re in a marriage with an abusive spouse, you can’t even get a divorce once you become pregnant. You become the property of both your husband and the state, they have joint ownership of you in the state of Missouri."

"[Missouri] is a slave state as far as being a woman is concerned, as far as I’m concerned," she added.

McCaskill agreed and said some legislation intended to restrict deadbeat fathers has actually ended up restricting women.

"Yeah. Back when that was put into law, it was try to hold people accountable for the babies they had fathered," McCaskill said. "But in this day and age, everybody needs to understand that what it does, it keeps a woman in a marriage that could be abusive just because she’s pregnant, which is absolutely unacceptable."

    McCaskill- Another mental midget.

american hater is reminding us of what Hillary Clinton tried to sell her supporters back in 2016.

That the great mass of truck driving, beer drinking, gun toting, unwashed, uneducated, trailer dwelling, genetically ambiguous red neck gaping anal orifices in flyover country STILL have not surrendered and STILL will not support the liberal agenda.

And that makes them as dangerous as Trump.
Democracy is threatened by Trump and his supporters.
They must be stopped no matter what it takes.
    Ignore the law.
    Ignore the constitution.
    Demonize all of them.
    Lie about them.
Stop Trump and his supporters no matter what.
Even if we have to destroy democracy to stop them, we will do it.

MSNBC's Morning Joe Had a Total Meltdown Over This WSJ Piece About Biden.
MSNBC’s Morning Joe went apoplectic over The Wall Street Journal’s article about Joe Biden’s mental decline behind closed doors. The panel got their orders from the Democratic National Committee, though likely the Biden White House, and torched the publication for supposedly running a hit piece on Biden based on accounts from Trump acolytes.

Co-host Joe Scarborough screamed how Kevin McCarthy is the source for the entire piece. That’s not true. At least 45 people, Democrats and Republicans, were interviewed; even liberals noted that the president had lost a step. Still, they couldn’t negate that Biden is 81 and probably not what he used to be 15 years ago, which confirms the basis of the piece. Willie Geist said that at the beginning of what became a complete meltdown on the panel. There was no disagreement about Biden being slower.

Mike Barnicle was especially heated over the article, noting that five-time married Rupert Murdoch, who owns the paper, probably ordered the piece. Okay, well, the Biden White House ordered Democrats to call the WSJ back and ensure their accounts were that of a strong, vibrant president. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) is quoted admitting as much when he said, “They [Biden WH] just, you know, said that I should give you a call back.”

Barnicle added that the giveaway for him with this piece is that Biden is a talker, and there’s no way a meeting with two dozen congressional leaders started ten minutes late is true. Biden would spend ten minutes with each person, attested Barnicle.

    Are you kidding me?

In some meetings where Biden spoke frequently, no one could hear him. The notes and flashcards bit isn’t shocking either. Still, the part about Speaker Mike Johnson meeting with Biden on energy policy, specifically the transportation of liquified natural gas, and the president forgetting his position, is jarring. It also can’t be described as a hit piece when Biden spokespersons and communications staffers are sprinkled in trying to deflect and neutralize the more embarrassing anecdotes in the article. That’s proof that none of these clowns even read it.

Richard Haas, former president of the Council on Foreign Relations, pitched another laughable counterpoint, noting that Biden is in charge of and pushing an agenda with his new executive order on immigration, a ceasefire deal in Gaza, and a new Ukraine weapon targeting agreement. The immigration EO is ineffective, and even MSNBC reporters on the scene felt it wouldn’t have much of an impact. The ceasefire agreement is dead because Hamas rejected yet another deal and no one cares about Ukraine. All three issues don’t help or assist American working families who’ve been crippled by inflation in any way. This is classic political class nonsense. It’s also another sign that this president can’t get anything meaningful done because he was never meant for the job.

MSNBC wasted a lot of time neutralizing what is already a fact: Biden is old and weak.

I actually disagree with this and think Alvin Bragg should show up and testify. And Michael Steele is right its a punk move by Jordan and the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans and all they really want is a chance to yell and scream and lie trying to make 30 second sound bites. But where I think Steele is wrong is Jordan and the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans on his committee are the most stupid, ignorant, and mentally ill members of congress and their hearings keep blowing up in their faces which means their witnesses and the Democrats are the ones getting the sound bites. I think Bragg can and will eat them alive.

Jim Jordan busted for attempting 'the biggest punking move of the year' on Alvin Bragg

The entire panel on MSNBC's "The Weekend" urged Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg to blow off a demand from House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) to explain his successful prosecution of Donald Trump.

On Friday, Bragg left open the possibility he would appear before the Republican-dominated House committee which led "The Weekend" co-host Michael Steele to flip out and urge the DA to avoid what will certainly turn into a circus as Jordan's hearings typically do.

"This brother needs to stay his behind home," the former RNC chair exclaimed. "He does not need to do this because all this is the biggest punking move of the year."

"If he shows up, those individuals on that committee are there for one purpose and that is to hang him politically," he added. "That is what it is. The sound bites are just the beginning of it. Because remember, the president, whether you do it now or after sentencing, there is an appeals process— this thing isn't over, this is still going."

"Why would he want to legitimize the takedown of his prosecution , the successful takedown of his prosecution of a former president based on the facts and the law, right?" he elaborated. "A jury found Donald Trump and convicted him. Why go back and be subjected to a political process where the feds have no authority and Congress has no authority here to call him up and ask him about his prosecution?"

As long as Jordan has enough on the ball to ask Bragg what contact he, or anyone in his office or connected with his office, had with the brandon administration.

See, pretty sure Jordan already knows there's been back channel contact between the trump persecutors and brandons administration. Be interesting to see if Bragg will own up to it, or if he'll go coverup.

Cause we all know how coverups tend to go, don't we?
Nixon and clinton could damn sure provide Bragg with some insight, eh?

'How can you live with yourself?' Al Sharpton calls out visibly frustrated Byron Donalds

One of Donald Trump's top potential picks for his vice presidential nominee was picked apart on Saturday by MSNBC's Rev. Al Sharpton.

Sharpton, a longtime acquaintance of Trump and a civil rights leader prior to his time hosting a show on the news network, interviewed Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) over the weekend. The Republican lawmaker recently clashed with another MSNBC host, Joy Reid, over Donalds' comments suggesting that Black marriage rates were higher during the era of "Jim Crow."

As he did in his interview with Reid, Donalds told Sharpton that his comments, "During Jim Crow, the Black family was together," were being spun for political purposes.

"I didn't say any of those thing!" he protested.

But Sharpton had tough words for Donalds, at one point asking him, "How can you even live with yourself?"

When he was asked what Jim Crow did to help Black families, a visibly frustrated Donalds lost his cool and said, "Oh my gosh." At another point, he asked Sharpton when he was going to get it through his "skull."

"It's because our skulls have ears," Sharpton said.
