It was a busy day.

Phone calls were non stop as usual. Applied for two new jobs. Got updated paperwork about staying with company till 12/32/2024.

When shift ended I walked cherrypup around block, cleaned house and went to bank. Afterwards I picked up dinner at Chipotle.

I’m laying on couch and undecided about my night. I light play a game.

 

Wife went shopping while I had the babies, perfect day for daddy daughter bonding, honestly they mostly just slept and I watched a few crappy movies. About to head to dinner as a whole family with SIL and MIL in tow. Good thing I drive a truck with enough seats.

It's been a great Friday - of course, being Friday before a 3 day weekend makes a lot of shit okay...

Nothing truly eventful today, sent my (usually) Monday blog for publishing, wrote some on my Wednesday and fucked the fuck off! Over 90%!

Everybody's (hardly) Working for the Weekend!

 

Today was interesting. Too many details to go into but it was a roller coaster. Then I watched Derrick Girls and laughed my ass off.

 

It was a good day.

Went to laundry mat and grocery shopping this morning. Later on I went to nearby lake with brother, sister n law and nephew to go out on the brother. Got a bit of sun. After returning I mowed front and back lawn then drove to GameStop.

It's been great. I got out, did some errands and my supermarket run (I can't believe I forgot the ice cream!!), and settled in to watch movies:

Watched Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation again and had a great time with it, although much was familiar. This series can be watched over and over - great direction, stories and ACTION. Loved it again. Loved the fuck out of Rebecca Ferguson - again.


Then I had what I think may be my first viewing of 'Escape To Athena,' a 1979 WWII action movie that was very enjoyable, but seemed to have a little trouble synchronizing it's comedic elements (heavy early on) with the 'nission' action which developed. It was a bit silly at times, but boasted great action and a rewarding story. Not the best ever, but fun and satisfying. Claudia Cardinale was still to die for.

I did some errands and went to see my dad. I tried not using the crutch for part of the day but I’m feeling it today so I don’t think im ready yet. I know I’m rushing it but I’m sick of it. Then I tried a new recipe for dinner. It was meh. Doubt I’ll make it again. Also, I hate cooking lol.

 

It was a lazy day.

This morning I had to go pick up tree limbs in front and back lawn from storm last night. It’s crazy the amount that was left when I have no trees at all.

Walked cherrypup around block twice (morning and afternoon). She spent sometime outside as well.

Just got done cooking Italian sausages, burgers and pork chops on the grill.

Applied for another job in town.

I’m sitting in chair playing a shooter game online. It’s something I used to do back in the day.

 

It was good. Actually, better than expected, even with one of the Bingo Kitchen helpers out sick. 88 players on a holiday was unexpected, as were the $450 in sales, resulting in $290 profit.

 

A great day - slept well, but still took a nice nap, had a fabulous ribeye for my first meal and a burger for my second - did no errands or chores, and just did my favorite (non-sexual) thing: Watching movies.

I finished 'Suspect Zero' which I first saw before it came out 20 years ago, so aside from the main theme and the 'science aspect' part of the story, the plot was all new. A great flick, with excellent performances from Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley, but it is not at all a 'happy' movie.


Then I watched 'In the Electric Mist' for the first time. It's a great 'find the killer' movie, that's intricately plotted and well played. The weird distraction is the whole 'Confederate General Ghost' thing that did nothing to promote a solid story, but everything to detract from it - probably a half-assed and ineffectual attempt to portray something from the source material.
It was very good in spite of that - a lot of things to like about this movie.


Then I relaxed with the intelligent fun of 'Evil Under the Sun' with the fantabulous Peter Ustinov in another outing where he again plays the best Hercules Poirot ever. Diana Rigg - as the obvious target of murder, was great as a heartless, scheming, amoral bitch. She was stunning in 1982 - as fit and fetching as she was 13 years before in the last episode of The Avengers. Great fun, and Ustinov will always be a treasure of film.


That's a cinematically fine Sunday.

 

I thought it was a bad day, the lawn mower problem, wouldn't run, the robot pool cleaner stopped working and the pool pump didn't work...but the sun came out...put new parts in the robot, and he's working, the lawnmower issue was carburetor...hit the SOB with a hammer 10 times and it worked...float stuck I believe! Still working on the pool pump! 2 out of 3...my day was great.

 

It was a uninspiring Memorial Day off.

It's been a Good day. Always difficult as a veteran knowing why we celebrate today and the sacrifices it took to be here and Free. But it's also a day for family, friends and gratitude so it's a Good day for sure.

 

According to my atomic clock, one millionth of a second shorter than the previous day. I knew I felt something...

 

Today was good! Work was easy and my friends were all working so it was fun. Now I’m eating pizza and watching Star Trek.
