  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Update, just back from the hardware store. A small container of joint compound so I can make repairs to the walls before I start painting. The joys of home ownership!

Allow Shooter to avail you of his education.
First, you will discover that you have friends/family you did not know you had.
    All will own bathing suits.
Almost all will think it's fun to show up unannounced on hot days.
None will think to bring towels, food, beer, or money.
They will bring appetites, thirst, and friends of their own.

Second, you already discovered the cost of chemicals for your pool.
    Chlorine is just the beginning.
And pool maintenance is also expensive.
    Learn to do it yourself.
Get the repair manuals on all of your equipment.
Do it yourself wherever and whenever possible.
The pool man is not your friend. He has kids he's trying to send through Harvard.

Third, if you heat your pool put a lock on the controls.
    A big lock.
We once discovered that someone had cranked up the thermostat because they thought the pool too cool.
We discovered it when we saw steam coming off of the pool.
The air temp was 88 degrees.
The pool temp. was off the thermometer.
    Think 15,000 gallon hot tub.
The utility bill that month; $1,800. (Really).

When you fill your pool in spring, do NOT turn on the heater for at least a week.
Solar is a great way to get your pool mostly warm enough to get in.

Do not be shy about telling friends/family that owning a pool is expensive and time consuming.
Pool parties are also expensive in terms of food, booze, ice, and police/neighbor relations.
If your family/friends don't take the hint or put anything but thank you notes in the donation jar, ban them.
They are not friends and not worthy of being family.
    Really.
    Be rude about it even.
After all, those wet footprints on your new wood floor weren't put there by polite, considerate people, were they?
Your empty pantry didn't happen because you were feeding the poor, did it?
You didn't spend 2 days laundering towels because you had help with that, did you?

Seriously, we really enjoyed our pool and had a lot of really fun pool parties with family and friends.
But understand; a pool is more expensive than a boat or a horse and makes about as much sense.
Accept the cost, the work, and the irritation or get yourself a jack hammer and bury that fucker.
The soul tax is too high if you can't accept the cost, work, and irritation.

Great advise! I do 98% of the maintenance on the pool myself. The only time I paid someone to maintain the pool while I was away, I came home to a green pool. I didn’t open the pool this year for that very reason. (Lesson learnt)
I really don’t have any issues with unwelcome or unannounced company to use the pool. I would like people to use it but nobody is interested, including me.
I would love to fill the pool in but where it’s located the dirt would have to be wheelbarrowed in(uphill)and that’s expensive to fill in a 30k gallon hole in the ground. I waiting for my neighbors tree to come crashing down into the pool and I’ll be more than happy to let the insurance company fill it in.

Also I had no idea tv stands were so annoying to shop for.

It's not too huge. 45 gallons. But he bigger the tank is, the easier it is to keep the water parameters in check. If I had a cement slab floor, I might have gone even bigger!
