I had a great half work day and my night is going great too!

 

So this meeting I had yesterday was with a whole bunch of higher ups about my dept and plans for the future. I was the representative chosen from the dept to talk about the issues we are facing and how they need to be better. Me in a room full of directors and presidents and “heads of” and blah blah (corporate hell as I like to call it) and I was worried I’d fail to make them listen, and I’d let down my coworkers and friends.

But they did! After two hours of talking, they are making an action plan and discussing ways to improve our work life. Because my job is super stressful and upsetting and burn out and stress leave is very real. We deal with people who are suicidal, vulnerable, hostile, depressed, violent, angry, sad, and sick. It’s not a happy place. Which is why I bring cookies and cake to work every week lol.

Anyway, I was mentally drained when I got home so I did fuck all for the rest of the day.

It was a lazy day.

This morning I went to laundry mat to wash clothes then went grocery shopping.

Walked cherrypup around block twice.

Mowed front and back lawn.

I'm laying on couch playing a game.

Tomorrow I have a KC Chiefs meetup watch party later in the evening.

 

It's been a nice, restful day. No chores or errands, just steak for breakfast and pizza for lunch, and watching movies.

Had a great time with my first viewing of Guy Ritchie's 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.' Maybe not his best, because the through-story (keeping the action up) was a bit slow, but there was great action and performances throughout, and an excellent, sexy version of 'Mack the Knife' actually sung by the super-hot actress Eiza Gonzalez.

Very fun, with a high mayhem and action quotient. I loved it!

Next, an old favorite that I've seen a few times, but not for a while: Dr. Strangelove (etc). As brilliant and funny as ever - 60 years does not age the impact of this Stanley Kubrick masterpiece of satire.


Next up, a second viewing of the Bond flick 'Spectre.' I still remembered too much, but Bond films are very memorable. Still a great, fresh viewing of one of the best of the latest 'Bond' slew of films.


Then, I started a second viewing of Fast & Furious X. It hasn't been that long, but the mayhem (no matter how far-fetched) is a delight. Way over the top at times, but I'm loving it again!



A great Saturday!

 

I woke up. It was a good day!

 

Ran a 5K this morning. It was a tough one with a steep uphill section. My time wasn't great, but I finished.

 

It was a lazy day.

Walked cherrypup around the block twice and watched football for a bit.

I’m sitting on couch and will be leaving soon for KC Chiefs meetup watch party. I’m looking forward to meeting a woman I met last week.

 

It was a very lazy day. I woke up an hour early, but took an absurdly long nap later, and watched movies on Prime.

First was Dredd (2012). I could have sworn that I'd seen it, but there wasn't a single familiar moment. Still, while it was fun, it travels a well-trodden action path. A good time, with fast-paced action, but I'll probably forget it again in short order. Popcorn flick at heart.


Then another second viewing - The November Man starring Pierce Brosnan and a surprisingly 'non-action' but stunning Olga Kurylenko (who is more than capable of mixing it up in a fight). It's been a while, so only a few scenes were familiar, but it's a great action spy thriller with rewarding payoffs.

Thgen a third watching (I think) of Soderbergh's Traffic - anadaptation of the excellent BBC mini-series Traffik. This may be his ultimate best work: a very memorable movie that maintains its 'throughput' theme and plot while shifting between seperate but related storylines. A triumphant, engrossing and exciting film.


A very satisfying Sunday of movies!

 

Didn’t work out as planned. I just went with the flow. Shit happens, but tomorrow will be a whole new day. I’m thinking positive

 

I set up my office space and washed my hair and stuff. Nothing super fun. Then I made scalloped potatoes and pork chops for dinner. And finished watching The Hangover.

 

It was a busy.

Phone calls were constant though being off phones for a hour. Had a convo with Canadian that was god. Went over and beyond to send him a part for one of this products.

Chatted with someone i know in meetup group about last nights event. He told me about an event tomorrow that is not on calendar. I’m up in the air about it. Just checked schedule and don’t have anything I’m interested in going to this week. One is scheduled for this Friday at venue that I feel is disgusting.

I signed up for an event for a week from this Friday at nearby winery.

It was ok. Worked and was tired but ok.

 

Good. Rented a dumpster last Friday and have been getting rid of junk that I have no idea of why I have or when or where I got it. Amazing what I have found. Lot of laughs.

 

Today was long but I love working from home. Then I ate copious amounts of chocolate.

 

It was a sad day.

Phone calls were constant like usual. Sent message to manager again about colleague not picking up weight.

Got call about government job and found out I was declined again. Had to stay off the phones for bit to regain my composure. This one hit hard especially with it being a call and how important it was to me.

Got pinged by member in meetup group about going on tonight to night club. I’m going but unsure how into I will be after job denial. Event is at 7 pm.

Found out I will be hosting event with the month.

Today was long but I was working from home so that was good. I had another meeting where I asked for thousands of dollars to plan an event. I thought they’d laugh in my face but I think it went well. Except my life is made up of meetings now. How far I’ve fallen.

I had Lucky Charms for dinner and ordered in some groceries.

 

Took the car to the body shop. Idiot that hit my car his insurance has to pay.

Almost 5K for your stupidity, and that's before they do anything, could go higher.
