First off good on them for finally sending these lowlifes to hell but seriously, because the drug is about to reach it's expiry date and needs to be used up before April 30th. Six more are planned and the State Supreme Court denied a last minute appeal of the one last night.

The governor was nowhere to be seen lol.

I don't have a problem with it. And another thing, you hear how the drug used could cause pain so it's cruel and inhumane. Excuse me but they are being executed. The pain won't last as long as the pain they caused family members of their victims to endure.

Do them all at once and put in on pay tv. The wife's first husband was murdered years ago and the shithole still sits on death row....

 

Some of the people have been on death row for 30 years. It is about time they started finishing the job.

 

Correction: another news report just stated that 3 more executions are planned by months end. The first report stated 6 were scheduled.

The confusion stems from there being 7 people on death row currently.

These drugs have been proven ineffective at times and opens the door to lawsuits for cruel and unusual punishment which is no comfort to the families of the victims !!!

Executing people because the bottle is about to expire. Now that's what I cal frugal.

 

I prefer the gallows myself. We will always have enough ropes.

Personally I've always felt that like for like should be the means of execution, if the killer shot someone in the gut and left them to bleed out and die, then that's how they should be executed.
Poisoned someone? here drink up!
Stabbed someone 100 times? Hey only 74 more to go!
Dragged them behind a car? Ladies 'n' Gentlemen, Start your engines!

Still, I guess people are too squeamish for that....

 

Nah, it's that damned 'cruel and unusual' punishment line in the Constitution. Personally, I don't care if they suffer, they didn't worry about their victims suffering.

why was it bought and then never used in the first place ?

 

It's not that the drugs are expensive, it's that the stocks are about to expire and the pharmaceutical companies that make them refuse to sell the states any more because they're used in executions. Now, the drug makers get up on their high horse about their drugs being used in legal executions, but they continue to advertise and push their products on the public. And recently one state that ordered a batch of drugs from overseas to use in executions saw those drugs seized by the feds, and the federal courts just recently refused to return them to the state. That's why several states are considering going back to older methods of execution.
