I certainly hope it is "just a flash in the pan."

Right now we need Chines help in dealing with North Korea.

I expect China to achieve world hegemony by the end of this century. I hope the Chinese achieve that without war and that the United States does not attempt to prevent it with war.

History is moving in China's direction and against ours. The Chinese do not need war to achieve domination of the world.

 

Doubtful you will see that. As economic conditions and social media progress in China, so will political problems, corruption and unrest. The war China may fight in the future will most likely be a civil war....

 

China has tremendous potential but the leaders are not willing to provide the latitude to provide its brightest enough freedom to fully take advantage of that potential .

If they did that China would be a much much larger threat than it is.

The big thorn in their side is our treatment of Taiwan . We say that we believe in the one china policy but we sell the Taiwanese so much military equipment that that one china policy is impossible .

I don't even understand what it is we're trying to accomplish .

I think that Japan must be the most worried of all the countries in the region .

Lots and lots of bad blood .

 

It is much a do about nothing.
That is China's front yard ,
a bit like the Gulf of Mexico is the US's.

They're just checking out who's fukin round in their front yard ,
and lettin them know the head honcho in those parts is a watchin you.

Just like the US would a Chinese aircraft in "Your" gulf

 

Supposedly the Chinese are preparing a carrier group to kind of make a statement in international waters off the coast of California.

It's easy to forget that the Chinese are extremely weak at the moment .

The US spends more money on its military than pretty much the whole rest of the world combined.

That may change and may change soon but that's the way it is right now

 

I am saying that they are weak militarily .
They would have a very difficult time engaging the United States directly militarily .
I agree that they might be clever and in that sense there is a lot of metaphorical strength .

 

I don't ever see a time when one country or region will rule the world .
No Pax Americana
No pax Sovietica
No pax Asiatica.
The Chinese will probably become the dominant power in Asia but in a confederation of Asian states some of which will be brought into that union kicking and screaming.

I'm confused about who the Americans were fighting in the Korean War .

I guess telling the American people that we were fighting the Chinese as well as the North Korean army was another McCarthy era lie

Now I am pissed that we were so deceived.

Western bankers don't like to see any of their investment money being siphoned off by corruption in Africa. The Chinese realise that is the price of doing business and are willing to grease the wheels. The riches of Africa will soon be in their hands.

 

The Korean War began when North Korea invaded South Korea.

China came to the aid of North Korea, From across their common border

Fidel Castro used to complain that the United States would not do business with him but could not do business Fast enough with China and he also reminded the US that China was not our friend.

If what you are suggesting is a fatalistic view the China will be the world superpower then that's a pretty depressing concept.

The cultural revolution in China And other state sponsored activities to maintain its power killed tens of millions of people .

More power to China if they are fighting Isis in Africa but it's likely more about access to mineral Rights then about any concern about human rights.

Again I reiterate that altruism is a Fiction and does not and has not ever existed

 

Most liberals are still extremely concerned about Naziism even though it ended on the state level about 75 years ago .
Should not be concerned about Chinese actions that are even more recent.

Hard to have your cake and eat it too.

And Asians certainly do not think in terms of decades but rather of centuries or much more .

 

My point is that some have not noticed that the 1940s are gone.

 

Damascus is probably the oldest continuously existing city in the world .

But China has had a long history to be sure .

And we have forgotten about what's happened in Tibet and other areas under their control. And unlike the west they have never apologized for what they have done in areas that they have occupied.

They refuse to acknowledge this even when adored liberal figures like Fidel Castro reiterate my point about the dangers of China.

 

I should probably post this in a separate thread but I wish to make one thing crystal clear .

Winston Churchill was vilified for vilifying Naziism. And most of this vilification came from the left . He also vilified Islam. Same deal today .

Like him I will speak my truth simply and clearly . And I do not require validation to feel that my positions are correct .

History has vindicated him just as I believe history will vindicate me and my positions.

His great advantage over me is that he didn't waste his time posting his views on a porn site .

But I will continue to post my views on any site where thinking people will hear me .

 

People seem to think of China as a country that goes back as far as history can remember . But it was a series of dynasties . Certainly not connected and certainly at war with one another . Certainly not the landmass that we call China today . The Chinese view Tibet as an integral part of China and that was never Historically true .

The Chinese love to consider themselves to be the progenitors of everything good in the world .

If one wishes to believe that then who am I to get in the way of their magical thinking ?

Yes they were more civilized than the west during our medieval period. And certainly the Middle East was more civilized but I'm more interested in what's going on today.

The Middle East remains in their medieval era and the Chinese are stealing everything that they can from the west with spies everywhere from Stockholm to Washington DC .

I don't understand how this great Force of civilization can't even come up with even an alphabet much less a fork.

They may become the great force in the world but we also said that about Japan in the 1980s .

As for me I will not put a crown on anyone else until history absolutely dictates it
