OMG the stupidity and fake news on this thread is bad enough. But when we see just outrageous stupidity coming out of Republicans its no fucking wonder we have so many mass shootings and deaths resulting from them.

And let's be crystal clear here about just what is so dangerously stupid about bullshit like this. One of the things the Las Vegas police have been pointing out is one reason the number of dead and wounded is so high is when people first heard the gun fire they could not tell where it was coming from. So they hit the deck and just laid down on the ground. But since the gun fire was coming from so high above them all that did was make them bigger stationary targets.

 

It may still be I'd have to check the books but at one time owning a AR15 and a shoe string constituted intent to build a machine gun by the ATF. I'm 97% sure they got taken to court over that ruling.

 

Aren't bump stocks perfectly legal? How about GatCranks that just fit on the trigger of AR15's and do just about the same thing as a bump stocks and sell for $40 right now? Aren't they perfectly legal? And don't both of them easily and cheaply convert a semi automatic to function like a fully automatic? Isn't that how this guy managed to kill a record number of people in his mass shooting?

Here is another thing I am wondering about. The police are being credited with a very rapid response that saved lives. But from all the reports I am reading the actual shooting started at 10:08 pm and lasted at least 10 to 15 minutes. In fact one timeline said the shooting stopped after 13 minutes at 10:21 pm. Then just three minutes later they report the gunman shot down the hallway and wounded a security guard. And then its 10:50 before they converge on the gunman's room saying they will let them know when they go through the door. And then at least by the timeline I am seeing not until more than a hour later at 11:58 they report the gunman is down. So I am really confused by that.

But check out some of the other things the police were dealing with.

10:29 p.m. As officers gather on the 32nd floor, there is still confusion about whether a second gunman could be on the 29th floor.

Down on the ground, officers report that civilians are trying to get weapons from police cars to defend themselves.

“Please advise all units to have their vehicles locked,” one officer says. “People are going in, trying to grab shotguns.”

10:32 p.m. Police say multiple reports from the tower at McCarran International Airport about people walking across the runways. And first responders increasingly turn their attention to caring for the wounded.

“Designate me one marked vehicle right now,” an officer says. “I’ve got an officer with a gunshot wound to the neck.”

10:46 p.m. With thousands of people leaving the concert, some got creative for transportation.

“I had somebody take a patrol car,” one officer says. “I’m being overtaken by citizens trying to take patrol cars.”

And in the press briefing they said the delay was caused because they were waiting for swat because the shooting had stopped.

 

The shooter shot a cop through the door and hit his knees....the cops backed off and waited for SWAT to arrive shortly behind them. Nobody shooting anybody up and down the halls. In those minutes, he killed himself. Media takes time to arrive, set-up, gather and broadcast...they're naturally a little slower than the cops/SWAT.

1 shooter, 2 windows, 1 suite and zero indication of any other shooters that cleverly escaped such a crime, while shooter #1 kills himself because he knows he aint got a shit chance in hell of getting out alive.

 

WOW! Almost none of this is true. I don't know where you are getting your facts or lack of same but look it up yourself, because what I am posting is the actual communications between the officers on the scene and their dispatchers. So you ought to do a little research to find out just how wrong you really are.
