Trump Slams ‘Crooked Hillary’ at Rally as Crowd Chants ‘Lock Her Up’ Days After Bomb Was Sent to Her Home

Days after a pipe bomb was sent to Hillary Clinton, and hours after Donald Trump called for a return to civility, the president slammed his 2016 competitor at a campaign rally as his crowd chanted “lock her up.”

Trump bashed Clinton as part of a diatribe against Democratic opposition to his border wall:

“Many of these Democrats — almost all of them, including Schumer, including Crooked Hillary, including everybody — many of these Democrats approved the wall in 2006,” he said.

The mention of Clinton drew loud boos from the crowd, followed by chants of “Lock her up!”

Trump smiled, saying “Oh boy, they’re going to be reporting about you tonight,” and pointing at the media.

Earlier at the rally, Trump slammed the media for causing the incivility that led to an apparent Trump fan allegedly mailing pipe bombs to 12 of the president’s outspoken critics, including CNN. On Friday night, the crowd engaged in raucous “CNN sucks” chants.

Trump adviser mocks terror targets: ‘Fake bomb addressed to you is the new Democrat status symbol’

A former Trump adviser and Fox News contributor mocked the targets in a string of mail bombings this week.

A dozen suspicious packages have been addressed to prominent critics of President Donald Trump, and anti-science corporate activist Steve Milloy singled out one of the victims and claimed the bombs were phony.

“Having a fake bomb addressed to you is the new Democrat status symbol,” Milloy tweeted. “Did Spartacus send this to himself?”

Conservatives have mocked Booker as “Spartacus” after the New Jersey Democrat referred during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings to the Roman gladiator who led a slave revolt.

Milloy, who helped popularize the term “junk science” and is a longtime legal foe of the Environmental Protection Agency, served as an environmental adviser to the Trump transition team and was a Fox News broadcaster for nearly a decade in the early 2000s.

Troubling: Why did FBI chief Christopher Wray refuse to say when he told Trump about the bombing suspect?

Even as federal investigators were tracking down and arresting Cesar Sayoc, the suspect in a string of mail bombs sent to top Democratic figures and CNN, President Donald Trump was casting doubt on the reality of the attacks and complaining about the impact they have had on the election.

In one of Trump’s tweets about the subject, he put quotes around the word “Bomb” in an apparent attempt to suggest that explosive devices might be fakes. FBI Director Christopher Wray later confirmed that the devices were not hoaxes.

The stark juxtaposition between Trump’s reaction and the FBI’s professional work prompted many to wonder when the president was informed in the bureau’s progress. One reporter asked Wray at a press conference about the FBI’s communications with the White House, but the director brushed off the question.

“I’m not going to get into our discussions with the president,” he said.

But despite explicitly refusing to comment on his communications with the president, Wray said he “received a very nice congratulatory call from the president.”

He added: “He, like every American, is and should be proud of the unbelievable work that was done not just by the FBI but by all of our law enforcement partners.”

It was a troubling sign that the director refused to answer a question that might make the president looks bad. Instead, he gave an answer that cast the president in a positive and grateful light, despite Trump’s distaste for the FBI and his apparent skepticism about the attacks. As the head of a quasi-independent agency, Wray should avoid looking like he’s boosting the president to help his image.

But more importantly, it’s deeply concerning that the president may have been actively stoking suspicions about the reality of the attacks even as the United States’ own law enforcement agencies were in direct pursuit of a serious suspect in the matter. If he was fully aware of the FBI’s progress in this case and the seriousness of the matter, then it is condemnable behavior. It would mean he has a lack of genuine concern for the safety and security of those who he deems political enemies and is willing to disregard violence as long as it can serve his political aims.

Well, first of all, the deplorables knew clinton was not someone they wanted in the white house. In addition they believed, still believe, clinton is corrupt and should be tried. That you, or anyone, would suggest she get a pass is outrageous. Shooter would not expect "a pass" for Trump, if the facts justified him being tried for something.

And lets remember that clinton was never president, so even if your suggestion that out going presidents deserve "accomodation" had merit, it would not apply to a secretary of state.

This is the reason why people hate Hillary, and precisely why everyone hates you. The elitist mentality that only people from the big city, or either coast have an opinion that matters.

It may be hard for you to comprehend, but those "gaping hinds" that you speak of actually aren't idiots. Here in the "fly over" country we have universities, hospitals, corporations, and even indoor plumbing. We also have hard working people who are not as educated in book learning, but have more common sense than people who think that a college degree makes a person intelligent.

House Majority Leader McCarthy busted for posting anti-Semitic tweet after bomb sent to George Soros’ house

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., is under scrutiny after it was revealed that he posted a tweet which could be construed as anti-Semitic after a bomb was sent to the home of Jewish philanthropist George Soros and left it up until Wednesday.

The tweet, which included the hashtag #MAGA to express support for President Donald Trump, singled out Soros, billionaire hedge fund manager Tom Steyer and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It urged those who read it to “get out and vote Republican” on the grounds that the individuals singled out would try to “buy” the election. Given that one of the common anti-Semitic myths is that Jews have disproportionate power due to their supposed ability to buy elections, and that the three men singled out by McCarthy are all Jewish, the tweet could have been construed as being an anti-Semitic dogwhistle.

After a gunman attacked a Pittsburgh synagogue and killed 11 people, McCarthy posted a pair of tweets that expressed sympathy for the victims. The suspect in that shooting is a 46-year-old man named Robert Bowers, who is believed to have made anti-Semitic statements during the shooting as well as online, according to CNN. Bowers has been charged with 11 counts of using a firearm to commit murder and multiple counts of two hate crimes involving persecution of individuals based on their religious convictions.

“Our communities of faith are filled with love and peace. Today’s heinous attacks on Tree of Life synagogue perpetrated by anti-Semitism and hate will not shake our love for each other. May God’s grace be with the victims and their families,” McCarthy wrote in his first tweet.

In the second he added, “We will keep fighting for a country where every religious believer can ‘sit in safety under his own vine and figtree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.'”

McCarthy has also been the victim of violence in recent days. On Saturday his office in California was vandalized by an unknown person or group of people (the congressman posted pictures of two men who he claimed were responsible) who “threw a boulder” through the window of his Bakersfield office and stole equipment, according to CNN.

“Does anyone know these two guys? They threw a boulder thru our office window and took office equipment,” McCarthy posted on Instagram with a picture of two suspects. In an interview on Fox News Tuesday, McCarthy said that “I don’t know if this was politically driven. It might be driven more just from the idea of stealing in the office.” After the incident, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer posted a tweet denouncing violence regardless of whether it comes from the left or the right.

Make no mistake: Despicable acts of violence and harassment are being carried out by radicals across the political spectrum—not just by one side. Regardless of who is responsible, these acts are wrong and must be condemned by Democrats and Republicans alike. Period,” Schumer wrote.

*House Republicans’ campaign committee released a new ad attacking billionaire Democratic donor George Soros as a “radical” on Wednesday, just two days after a bomb was found in Soros’s mailbox.

The new ad from the National Republican Campaign Committee’s independent expenditure arm, entitled “Owes,” is aimed at Minnesota House candidate Dan Feehan, who is locked in a close contest with Republican Jim Hagedorn.

Soros is portrayed as one of the shadowy forces who “own” Feehan, because of donations from a Soros foundation to the Center for a New American Security, where Feehan is a fellow.

“Look at who finances Dan Feehan’s employer,” the ad’s narrator reads. “Radical George Soros, Wall Street’s biggest banks, a crooked lobbyist tied to Pelosi.”

The ad comes two days after an explosive device was discovered in a mailbox at one of Soros’s homes. The bomb appeared to have been hand-delivered, according to the New York Times. The paper reported that the bomb it was similar to other devices discovered Wednesday that were intended for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and CNN’s New York office.

Soros’s donations to liberal causes have made him a frequent target for Republican attacks and conspiracy theories over the last decade.

The ad isn’t the first time the NRCC has painted Soros as a shadowy force behind Feehan. Last week, the NRCC released an ad portraying Soros with stacks of money.

In a statement on the new ad, NRCC spokesman Matt Gorman described the ad as “entirely factual.”

"Attempted violence against Mr. Soros or anyone else is repugnant and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms,” Gorman said. “This ad is entirely factual and is in no way a personal attack."

On the heels of an attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday that left 11 dead, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd asked Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH) about the ad that linked Soros to Wall Street bankers that some considered a sly wink to the anti-Semitic notion that Jews are money-hungry manipulators.

After running a clip of the inflammatory ad, host Todd bluntly asked, “Why are you talking George Soros?”

In response, Stivers — who chairs the NRCC — attempted to lay the blame elsewhere while at the same time backing the ad.

“Our independent expenditure arm is independent,” he replied before stuttering. “But that ad is factual. And it also has nothing to do with calling for violence. That ad is a factual ad.”

Republican Florida candidate for governor Ron DeSantis was seen on video spreading a conspiracy theory about George Soros just days after the liberal billionaire was sent a bomb in the mail.

The Daily Beast’s Sam Stein reported on Monday that DeSantis’ remarks were made on Friday while speaking to a group at Inman Park Baptist Church in Winter Haven.

“He could be seeding, into our state government, you know, Soros-backed activists,” DeSantis said of opponent Andrew Gillum, the Democratic mayor of Tallahassee.

Just three days before DeSantis spread the conspiracy theory, Soros had been sent a mail bomb, allegedly from a Florida man who supported Republicans candidates like President Donald Trump.
