I just ate a slice of pumpkin pie smothered with whipped cream for breakfast.

I'm at work trying to drink enough coffee to stay awake. But I think it's a losing battle

 

At work with a really bad headache.

 

Stressed... stressed... stressed. Life is to hard right now. So watching comedy on television and ignoring my worries.

 

Watching the leaves fall outside the window, enjoying a great Wisconsin white cheddar, saltines & good bourbon helping me relax after a busy day.

 

Licking my wounds over what I paid into Social Security, and what I'm looking at getting out of it.
Disgusting government program.

Unless you are currently siffering from a terminal illness, you really have no idea how much you will draw out in the ling run, now do you?

Social Security is an insurance program. Are you "disgusted" by the thousands you've paid in car insurance over the years? How about insurance on your home? Unless you've had the misfortune of totaling your car or having your house burn down, you could think it wasn't worth it, but just the fact that you had that insurance is worth SOMETHING.

Social Security is the price we pay for living in a civilized society that provides for the elderly, disabled, widows and surving children. Our benefits are less generous than many developed countries, but our taxes are lower too.

 

Nope, in perfect health, so I have to figure out when I'm going to die. Actuary tables give me until I'm 84, currently.

Doesn't matter. Made me pay into a system that was supposed to insure my retirement, and it fell well short of what I could do on my own.
I feel absolutely no responsibility to provide for grasshoppers too lazy to work.

I guess that includes my quadraplegic cousin with cerebral palsy.

And my friend whose self employed lawyer husband was in a car accident and suffered a massive head injury. He can no longer work and requires round the clock care, so she can't work either.

And the children who lost parents.

You might have heard the expression "There, but for the grace of God, go I."
