Literally the deflection of the Trump supporters does make me laugh.

They will say anything to try and deflect from the FACT that all Trump does is lie and he has been lying to their faces every step of the way about his imaginary wall.

And that has nothing to do with Democrats or people who don't support Trump. That is between Trump and his supporters who gladly believe anything he says. And then when he contradicts himself and just tells another lie they pretend they believe that too.

I cannot thank Old Tool enough for coming up with this reality check. Because OMG they just keep proving everything he said. Right here in blue and white.

White House: Trump would accept less money for border wall

WASHINGTON (AP) — Both sides in the long-running fight over funding President Donald Trump's U.S.-Mexico border wall appear to have moved toward each other, but a shutdown of one-fourth of the federal government entered Christmas without a clear resolution in sight.

In fact, a top White House official warned the shutdown could stretch into January.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who is also the budget director, said he was waiting to hear from Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer of New York about a counteroffer the White House presented Schumer over the weekend.

Mulvaney would only say the offer was between Trump's $5.7 billion request and $1.3 billion Democrats have offered.

"We moved off of the five and we hope they move up from their 1.3," Mulvaney said less than a day after a senior administration official insisted that Congress would have to cave into Trump's demand for the shutdown to end, highlighting Trump's unpredictable negotiating style.

Schumer's office said the parties remained "very far apart."

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., argued for increased use of technology along the border instead of "some medieval wall." Asked whether he's willing to offer more money as long as it is not spent on a wall, Durbin responded: "Absolutely."

Trump blamed the Democrats for the stalemate on Monday, tweeting, "Virtually every Democrat we are dealing with today strongly supported a Border Wall or Fence. It was only when I made it an important part of my campaign, because people and drugs were pouring into our Country unchecked, that they turned against it. Desperately needed!"

However, an AP Fact Check found that U.S. arrests on the Mexican border jumped 78 percent in November from a year earlier to the highest level in Trump's presidency. Increased arrests indicate that more people are trying to cross the border illegally.

A stalemate over the wall led parts of the government to shut down Saturday after funding for numerous departments and agencies expired. The closure affects hundreds of thousands of federal workers across the country and was expected to last at least through Thursday, when the House and Senate meet again.

Monday and Tuesday, Christmas Eve and Christmas, respectively, are federal holidays, meaning the government would have been closed anyway. That means Wednesday is the first day the public could begin to feel the effects of lost government services, Mulvaney said.

He predicted the shutdown could go into January, when Democrats assume control of the House based on their midterm election gains.

"It's very possible that this shutdown will go beyond the 28th and into the new Congress," Mulvaney said.

Justin Goodman, a spokesman for Schumer, countered: "If Director Mulvaney says the Trump Shutdown will last into the New Year, believe him, because it's their shutdown." Trump recently declared he'd be "proud" to shut down the government over border issues.

Democrats held firm Sunday in opposition to a wall, which Trump promised his political base he would build. Mulvaney said "the president's not going to not accept money for a border wall."

Trump tweeted Sunday, the shutdown's second day, that what's needed is "a good old fashioned WALL that works," not aerial drones or other measures that "are wonderful and lots of fun" but not the answer to address drugs, gangs, human trafficking and other criminal elements entering the country.

He put off plans to spend Christmas at his Florida estate and remained in Washington.

The routines of about 800,000 federal employees, meanwhile, were about to be disrupted.

More than half of those employees are deemed essential, such as U.S. Secret Service agents and Transportation Security Administration airport agents, must work without pay, though retroactive pay is expected. Another 380,000 were to be furloughed, meaning they will not report to work but would be paid later. Legislation ensuring that workers receive back pay was expected to clear Congress.

Trump had savored the prospect of a shutdown over the wall, saying he'd be "proud" to force one over an issue that was one of his biggest campaign promises. He had said he wouldn't blame Democrats for a shutdown but now blames them for not contributing to the 60 votes needed for such legislation to clear the closely divided Senate.

But Democrats aren't the only ones resisting Trump on the wall.

Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, who is leaving Congress in January and has criticized Trump on other issues in the past, called the border-wall fight a "made-up fight so the president can look like he's fighting.""This is something that is unnecessary. It's a spectacle. And, candidly, it's juvenile. The whole thing is juvenile," Corker said, arguing for measures that he said would secure the border better than a wall.

Democrats said they were open to proposals that don't include a wall, which Schumer said is costly and ineffective. They have offered to keep spending at existing levels of $1.3 billion for border fencing and other security.

Senators have approved a bipartisan deal to keep the government open into February and provide $1.3 billion for border security projects, but not the wall. But as Trump faced criticism from conservatives for "caving" on a campaign promise, he pushed the House to approve a package temporarily financing the government but also setting aside $5.7 billion for the border wall. That bill lacks the votes to pass the Senate.

The stalemate blocked money for nine of 15 Cabinet-level departments and dozens of agencies, including Homeland Security, Transportation, Interior, Agriculture, State and Justice.

The Pentagon and the departments of Veterans Affairs and Health and Human Services are among those that Congress has fully funded and will operate as usual.

Mulvaney appeared on "Fox News Sunday" and ABC's "This Week." Durbin spoke on NBC's "Meet the Press" and Corker was interviewed on "State of the Union" on CNN.

President Donald Trump is now suggesting that he can now build his wall with “shutdown money” along with other “funds on hand” in an afternoon tweet.

Trying to take advantage of employees who are going without paychecks, the president seems to believe he can transfer the funds to his pet project.

Greyhound sheltered migrants in buses after ICE left them at station, police say

Transportation company Greyhound sheltered dozens of migrants in buses on Sunday night after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) dropped them off at a station in El Paso, Texas, local police told CNN on Monday.

ICE dropped off a group of about 200 migrants at the Greyhound station in El Paso on Sunday night without warning nearby shelters, volunteers told El Paso Times.

Four Greyhound buses arrived on Sunday night for the migrants to board as they waited at the station, which was too small to hold all of them, according to CNN.

"We weren't going to put 200 people on the streets of El Paso on a cold night," Sgt. Robert Gomez, spokesman with the El Paso Police Department, told the network. "We wouldn't do that."

Officials at the bus terminal told El Paso police about the crowd of 211 people on Sunday evening, saying individuals were seeking to board buses without tickets, according to CNN.

"All of a sudden a bunch of people show up," Greyhound spokeswoman Crystal Booker told CNN. "We weren't expecting it. We are not given prior notice."

Local activists have rallied around the group of migrants, seeking to bring them to shelters and get them the supplies they need, according to El Paso Times.

Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas), who is reportedly eyeing a bid for the presidency in 2020, was on hand to meet some of the migrants released by ICE.

He also tweeted during the day, encouraging people to assist the migrants.

"Hundreds of migrant families released onto the streets of El Paso on Christmas Eve, without food, money or help. ICE says more will be released tomorrow and following day," O'Rourke tweeted on Monday. He attached a link to a local shelter that is currently seeking to house the migrants, Annunciation House.

O'Rourke asked locals to drop off fruits and meals for the migrant families, which include small children.

An email to ICE from The Hill bounced back with an automatic message saying ICE's public affairs officers are out of the office due to the partial government shutdown.

"We are unable to respond to media queries during this period because we are prohibited by law from working," the email reads.

ICE drops off almost 200 more migrants in El Paso

One-hundred-eighty-six more migrants were released in downtown El Paso, Texas by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Christmas Day, reports the CBS affiliate there, KDBC-TV. That came after approximately 400 were released in the southwest Texas city in the two days before Christmas.

Democratic Congressman Beto O'Rourke, who represents El Paso, said he'd been told some 500 more would be released there Wednesday.

Local nonprofit groups told the station the key difference Tuesday was that they were notified in advance by ICE of the mass release, something the groups and O'Rourke said didn't happen previously.

As a result, the nonprofits were a bit more prepared for the large influx.

*"They're coming from immigration cells so they're coming hungry, they're coming thirsty, most haven't bathed in a long time. The situation is really difficult for them," said Dylan Corbett, executive director of the Hope Border Institute.

ICE said in a statement earlier this week the mass releases were designed to ensure families weren't held longer than it's allowed to detain them, and blamed "decades of inaction by Congress" that resulted in the government being "severely constrained in its ability to detain and promptly remove families with no legal basis to remain in the U.S."

The immigrants released Tuesday by ICE were dropped off at a downtown El Paso bus station. Then, they were led by volunteers to a makeshift headquarters at Rock House Cafe and Gallery, a block away.

"This is what it is to give, this is what it is to receive people into your home and cherish time with other people," said Michael Patino, owner of the facility.

"We made something for (the migrants) for breakfast. We went to buy some bread and my sister went to her closet to look for things that we could give away. We are here to give what we have," Michelle Sanchez said.

Sanchez, an immigrant herself, told KDBC it was her duty to give back, saying, "If you can do something for the people, if you can give something for the people just do it. That's what we do and that's what we're trying to do here," Sanchez said.

One of thle migrants said, "It's unreal, like a dream. They gave us clothes, food, everything. I really didn't expect this, thank you so much."

O'Rourke said about 500 migrants are expected to be released Wednesday.

These Migrant Caravans have been coming for decades. And even without them there is a steady stream of asylum seekers showing up at the border, and this is how, and especially the Obama administration had dealt with them.

You folks are a real pain in the ass. We know that you know our asylum laws. And you need to know that hardly any of you are going to be eligible. So here is what we are going to do. You get court dates to press your claim before we deport you. But in the meantime do you have somewhere to go? Sponsor? Relative? Group? Anybody? Then fine we will stick you with them and they can make sure you get to your court dates. Now some of the rest of you we are going to stick you with anyone that will take you in and you can wear these ankle bracelets so we can find your ass. And the rest of you with criminal records you will be lucky if we deport you right now instead of slapping your sorry ass in prison.

Other than that welcome to the United States of America and have a good day and we will be deporting you soon.

But now under Trump we have to create hysteria, separate children from their parents. send troops to the border. scream for a wall and then since you don't have a fucking clue just start dropping migrants off at bus stations in the middle of the night.

Same result but none of the safeguards. Just the mark of Trump: Chaos.
