Dem lawmaker to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump on first day of new Congress

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) intends to introduce articles of impeachment against President Trump on Thursday as the new session of Congress convenes.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Sherman's measure will accuse Trump of obstruction of justice in the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, among other things.

"There is no reason it shouldn’t be before the Congress,” Sherman told the news outlet. “Every day, Donald Trump shows that leaving the White House would be good for our country.”

Sherman said he doesn't believe that introducing the resolution in the new Congress will cause any issues for his Democratic colleagues, despite party leadership giving indications that they'd prefer to focus on legislating and oversight.

“Every member of the House will have to address [the issue] whether there are formal articles of impeachment pending,” Sherman told the Times.

The California Democrat previously filed articles of impeachment on similar grounds in July 2017 and was among the nearly 60 Democrats who voted in favor of launching impeachment proceedings in December 2017. The measure overwhelmingly failed.

Democrats will retake the House majority on Thursday, giving the party a greater ability to bring impeachment measures to the floor.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who is expected to be elected Speaker on Thursday, has said she does not intend to seek grounds for impeachment unless there is clear evidence and bipartisan consensus on the issue.

Other Democrats have called for special counsel Robert Mueller to finish his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election before pressing impeachment.

President Trump has downplayed concerns about impeachment proceedings in the new Congress, saying in a December interview that he believes the American people "would revolt if that happened."

Fuck Trump, fuck the GOP, and fuck any sub-intelligent asshat that believes that Trump is anything more than the mind numbingly stupid sociopath that the rest of the world sees him to be.

 

The Democratic leadership of the House can do anything they want to Trump now that they have subpoena power. They can even order his arrest for contempt of Congress if they like.

By the way, you might want to go out and learn a thing or two. Or rather, re-learn things you should have learned in 7th grade.

 

Dream on.... They can't order Trump's arrest. Pelosi and the Democrat trolls can do nothing besides cause gridlock until the Supreme Court steps in and slaps them down.

I can see that the Trumpboys think I still care what they say but they are wrong. I can see they are trying to jabber at me but they had a chance to say something interesting last year. This year they are all on ignore. Trumpboys only want to pump the Trump and I could care less about their opinions.

Pelosi, McConnell are the most unpopular figures in NBC/WSJ poll

The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi are the most unpopular political figures in the survey.

Forty-eight percent of registered voters view Pelosi negatively, versus 22 percent who have a positive opinion of her (-26).

And 36 percent see McConnell in a negative light, versus 21 percent who view him positively (-15).

But McConnell's popularity has improved since the bruising fight over Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In August, 12 percent had a positive view of McConnell, while 41 percent had a negative view (-29).

I want the left to do anything and everything they can to fight Trump and his agenda.

2020 will have a beautiful outcome.

Rashida Tlaib calls Trump an expletive during pitch to impeach

Fresh-faced U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib wasted no time in calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump just hours after being sworn in.

Speaking to a crowd of supporters Thursday night, the Michigan Democrat and first Muslim women elected to Congress said of Trump: "People love you and you win. And when your son looks at you and says, 'Momma, look you won. Bullies don't win.' And I said, 'Baby, they don't, because we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the mother***er.'”

Tlaib’s proclamation came hours after the Detroit Free Press published her op-ed calling for Trump’s impeachment.

 

No one is going to impeach Trump, it's just fun to talk about it.

By the time any serious impeachment procedure was in action, Trump would have less than a year to serve. He's a lame duck. The only thing Trump has to fear is the truth coming out about his actual financial status.
