  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Well, maybe up there in the north they aren't regulated.
See, some wit testified that running a 5 HP gas lawn mower to mow one typical lawn for one typical season was the same as driving a car like, a gazillion miles. (Shooter wishes he could remember where he saw that, it was quite funny).
In any case, that led to the frantic need to "regulate" gas engines, in particular those pesky 2 cycle engines.
So now, new gas engines under about 10 HP and those 2 cycle yard equipment engines have been "fixed" so that your average back yard mechanic can't adjust the mix, or the idle, or any fucking thing.
You know, cause we're too fucking stupid to know how to do it right.

But Shooter does use those polluting gas engines around his yard. He burns maybe 2 gallons of gas a year in his lawn mower and his snow blower, and about 2 quarts of 2 cycle mix in his weed eater and his blowers.

And watches, every day, the jets flying overhead.

We got our priorities in place, all right.

According to the Government of Canada (One-Tone Challenge) a gasoline powered lawn mower emits about 48 kilograms (106 lbs) of greenhouse gas in one season. Gas-powered lawn mowers are very inefficient, which means that despite their small size they produce a lot of air pollution. In fact, running an older gasoline-powered lawn mower for one hour can produce as much air pollution as driving a new car 550 kilometers. Source: Ministry of the Environment-Canada

A gasoline-powered lawn mower run for an hour puts out about the same amount of smog-forming emissions as 40 new automobiles run for an hour. Source: California Environmental Protection Agency, Air Resources Board. May 20, 1999

That sounds exactly like something that would come from a study conducted by a far left Yale type college.

I think your tilting at windmills
      :)
though you are of course technically correct , it became a generic term long ago ,
and , some did run other mechinery.

On the other hand , windmills , were always also wind turbines.
      :)
But what constitute a turbine , since they're in all sorts , from jet engines , steam , water powered things , like hydro and geothermal generation and so on.

The actual electricity generation unit dose not involve a turbine.

Then , is a bladed power unit , built like a helecopter rotary wing , or airplanes propeller , strictly speaking , actually a turbine ?

Oh geez , my head hurts , life can get so complicated ,
and to think , windmills had sails.
Dose that make a yacht a turbine :)

only if it sails in circles , perhaps
      lol

"Then , is a bladed power unit , built like a helecopter rotary wing , or airplanes propeller , strictly speaking , actually a turbine ?

      Two radically different designs.
Aeroplane propellers have a fixed angle of attack and are similar to vertical sail, wind-driven devices
Helicopters blades have similarities to horizontal wind-driven devices, but have an auto-adjusted blade angle dependant on the direction of the blade = into the direction of travel or away from it.
In addition, consideration must be given to the angle of tilt of the 'chopper' enabling the blades to provide lift (wing) and forward motion (propeller).
Sycamore and Maple seeds are much simpler.

      lmao
of course they are different , but actully , not as 'radically different'
as you might think. (even your explanation uses the words "similar"
      and "similarly")

You forgot the auto rotation function

when the air through , due to the falling chopper , can provide a controlled landing
So dose the rotary wing then come a turbine in that case ?

You also missed the variable pitch pripellers ,
      and ,
      What about aotogyros ?

If your going to give lessons , they should at least be substantially complete , surely.

      What about dandelions ?
(it is amazing how far out to sea you see them , and they can touch down and take off again)

      :)

    just to help :)
A turbine is a rotary mechanical device that extracts energy from a fluid flow and converts it into useful work. The work produced by a turbine can be used for generating electrical power when combined with a generator. Wikipedia

in case my bit of fun confused anyone

So are you saying windmills are not wind turbines ?

That would appear to contradict the definition.

    * * *
By 200 BC, simple wind-powered water pumps were used in China,
and windmills with woven-reed blades were grinding grain in Persia and the Middle East.

New ways to use wind energy eventually spread around the world. By the 11th century, people in the Middle East were using windpumps and windmills extensively for food production. Merchants and the Crusaders brought wind technology to Europe. The Dutch developed large wind pumps to drain lakes and marshes in the Rhine River Delta.

I have read and reread this post ten times and I can not make heads or tails of it

What is ”call fired motorcycle” and what does having eaten and buying has to do with saying the environment? Or is it ”hate buying” and you misspelled? But that still doesn’t make any sense...

Could someone please tell me what it is that he is trying to convey here?

Ah, I see... Now it almost makes sense... But what the hell is a coal fired electric motorcycle? Is coal firing some kind of new metal treatment? Akin to zinc electroplating? And it makes them less environmetally friendly? I’m sorry, I’m kind of confused. Although I can take apart and fix an internal combustion engine, I have no idea about the bodyworks of cars and motorcycles...

What's funny about that is that he can't claim autocorrect; there's no way autocorrect is responsible for anything he types.

    So it's deliberate.

      I don't know about that.
I seem to have absolutely no trouble using
      "autofuckup"
Its a vary simple system of a to small tought screen , and a to big fumbling fimger ,
      and works remarkably efficiently
