Just found this thread, and I am appalled at the characterization of MSNBC as a bunch of Kool-Aid drinking, lying elitists, and I know for a fact that all 6 of their viewers feel the same way. Hahaha

Seriously, doesn't Rachel Maddow look like a 13 year old talking into her mirror in her bedroom? She might as well be holding her hairbrush up as a microphone.

I want to be as racist as just about every other country in the world (except the members of that fiasco, the European Union), that has strictly controlled borders.

MSNBC reporters investigating whether ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ was targeted by Russian disinformation campaign

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Wednesday explained the complicated story about a Russian campaign to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller — and how she and her show may be connected to it.

Earlier in the day, Mueller’s team claimed in court that sensitive, non-public materials from one of the special counsel’s indictments ended up on a public Russian server. Those documents were given in discovery — the legal process in which a defendant is given an opportunity to view the plaintiff’s case against them — to Concord Management, LLC, the defendant in the infamous “Russian troll farm” case.

As Maddow noted, the special counsel’s office is working to limit the materials Concord Management gets in discovery moving forward not just because the documents were likely passed on willingly from someone on the company’s legal team — but also because they were “sifted through” and selectively published in an attempt to discredit Mueller.

“Mueller’s team confirmed some of the documents were legitimate and obtained through the trial’s discovery process,” NBC News reported earlier Wednesday. “Other documents included in the fake leak, which included screenshots of websites and memes that were not created by the [Russian troll farm] Internet Research Agency, were not collected by Mueller’s team.”

At the crux of the bizarre story is a Twitter account named @HackingRedstone that published documents with “folder structures that are unique to the files produced by the government in discovery, including tracking numbers assigned by the special counsel’s office,” Maddow said.

The @HackingRedstone account tried to shop the files, which its operator claimed were hacked via a Russian server, to ThinkProgress reporter Casey Michel and disinformation researcher Josh Russell — and possibly to Maddow’s team as well.

“There are some indications that I may have been the third target of this effort,” Maddow said, “or at least this show may have been the third known target of this effort by this anonymous Russian Twitter handle.”

“I will just tell you: I’ve nothing exciting to tell you about that,” the host added. “We are still trying to track that down when this indictment came out today and when Josh and Casey started talking publicly about how they had been targeted and how they had been shopped this stuff, that’s the first we heard we might have been targeted in this way as well.”

He went through Trump’s claims about wall construction, the funding, and that there are many Democrats who actually support the wall.

“It is absurd to say that Congress has already appropriated all of the money the president needs to build the wall he wants to build,” Todd said. “There is no new wall, none. In part because there’s no new money, none.”

Todd closed out by saying that while people may ask why they even cover his comments in the first place, “we’re in the job of exposing what powerful leaders say and do.”

This has been just funny as fuck. Roger Stone posts a picture of the judge in his case with a small cross hairs off to the side of her head. Which he tries to claim its just something he saw on the internet. Which is true you see it a lot on Russian sites. But then the backing up all over himself starts until by last night his lawyers were trying to file an apology over it. But it may not work. And I will laugh my ass off if the judge slaps his ass in jail.

Maddow trolls Roger Stone for being hauled into court before judge he threatened: ‘Better bring a toothbrush’

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Tuesday suggested that longtime Donald Trump political advisor Roger Stone will be held in federal prison awaiting trial starting on Thursday.

Stone seemingly threatened U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson in an Instagram post with rifle crosshairs next to her head.

Maddow read the judge’s order.

“Defendant is ordered to show cause at a hearing to be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. as to why the media contact order entered in this case and/or his conditions of release should not be modified or revoked in light of the posts on his Instagram account,” Jackson ruled.

Maddow joked, “and that’s how we learned that the president’s long-time advisor Roger Stone in all likelihood will be packing a toothbrush on Thursday when he is ordered to appear at this show cause hearing in his case we learned about today in this minute order.”

“And this, of course, follows the genius move by Roger Stone yesterday to when he decided to post a photo of the judge — who is hearing his case — on his Instagram account, the photo included a closeup picture of the judge with a little cross hairs next to the judge’s head as if she was being targeted by somebody looking through a rifle scope,” Maddow continued.

“Roger Stone’s lawyers at that hearing will be expected to show cause as to why these actions by Mr. Stone targeting the judge should not result in her issuing a strict new gag order on everybody involved in the case including Mr. Stone himself and more importantly than that, Mr. Stone’s lawyers will be expected to show cause on Thursday afternoon why these actions by Roger Stone should not result in the judge modifying Roger Stone’s conditions of release,” she explained.

Maddow recalled the odd dynamics surrounding Stone being released from jail before his trial.

“Because you will remember that Roger Stone was arrested and he was indicted, he was arraigned on seven felony charges, but thereafter he walked out of the courthouse,” she reminded. “Those conditions of release thus far have allowed Mr. Stone not only to be free and not in jail while he awaits the start of his trial, the judge was generous enough with Roger Stone that she allowed him not only to be free, she allowed him to not put up a single dime to secure that bond — he didn’t have to put up any money for it at all.”

Now the word "stunning" is certainly over used but I sat there last night literally stunned. And I can see how this flew under the radar. After all Agnew resigning as VP and pleading no contest to bribery charges seemed small compared to Watergate and Nixon resigning. But holy shit I had no idea Agnew blamed Jews for his crimes being exposed and went on a personal and profitable war against them.

Agnew then asked the Crown Prince for either a $200,000 annual payout or a $2 million lump sum.

“I do so want to continue my fight against the Zionist enemies who are destroying my once great nation,” Agnew wrote.

PS Another amazing aspect of this story is the DOJ guideline that a sitting president can't be indicted actually comes out of trying to indict Agnew to force him to resign as VP. And so the DOJ came up with the ploy that a sitting president can't be indicted but a VP can. Which actually means the DOJ guideline is on paper thin ice, needs to be revisited because there is no constitutional foundation for it, and could actually be ignored by Mueller and/or other US prosecutors including SDNY.

Who’s No. 1, Hannity Or Maddow? Fox News and MSNBC Both Claim Ratings Victory in February

Fox News and MSNBC are disputing whether Sean Hannity or Rachel Maddow took the No. 1 slot in cable news viewership last month.

Both networks released statements on Tuesday, citing Nielsen data, claiming that their respective anchors won in prime time and had a bigger share of the coveted adults 25-54 demographic. MSNBC says that Maddow averaged 549,000 A25-54 viewers per night and 3.1 million viewers overall. On the other hand, Fox says Hannity brought in an audience of 575,000 A25-54, and his grand total was 3.165 million.

Industry sources tell Mediaite that the discrepancy is the result of Fox News excluding “specials,” or days when substitute anchors fill in for Hannity. MSNBC, on the other hand, does include numbers from when Hannity is not on the air. That means that Fox News is counting nights when Hannity himself goes up against Maddow, while MSNBC is counting all weekdays of the month.

The other major show at 9 p.m. appears to be finding its niche. Cuomo Prime Time on CNN, hosted by Chris Cuomo, was CNN’s top-rated show in February with 1.287 million overall viewers and 365,000 in the demo.

Other notable takeaways from the February numbers; MSNBC’s The 11th Hour with Brian Williams beat out both Fox News and CNN in both A25-54 viewers and total viewers at 11p PM for the 3rd month in a row. Williams’ show averaged 327,000 viewers.

And Fox News’s coverage of the State of the Union was the No. 1-rated show on cable for the entire month with 11.3 million viewers.

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Tuesday explained why Michael Cohen’s scheduled public testimony on Wednesday could give federal prosecutors the leverage necessary to negotiate Donald Trump resigning from office.

“Michael Cohen, of course, has pled guilty to nine felony charges including lying to Congress and two campaign finance felonies in which he and federal prosecutors told the federal judge overseeing Cohen’s case it wasn’t just Cohen that committed those felonies, the president himself was also implicated in them,” Maddow reminded.

“The anticipation for what Cohen will say in this open hearing tomorrow has been stoked all day today by multiple news agencies reporting that Cohen is basically bringing a dump truck with him to describe his years of dealings with President Trump and the Trump Organization,” she explained.

“We’re told Cohen is prepared to testify in matters touching on everything from the president’s personal behavior, to the way the president has filed — or not filed — his taxes, to alleged criminal behavior by the president during the time he has been president,” she continued.

“And on that last point, which I think is maybe more important than we are ready for heading into that testimony tomorrow, apparently Cohen is prepared to bring documents tomorrow to Congress that specifically relate to the campaign finance felonies for which Michael Cohen is about to go to prison,” she noted.

Maddow noted The Wall Street Journal is reporting Trump cut “hush money” checks while in office.

“If this Wall Street Journal report tonight is correct and Michael Cohen is in fact going to hand over financial documentary evidence tomorrow of the president’s involvement in that illegal campaign finance scheme — which Cohen has pled guilty to already,” she explained. “I mean, think about it, this is already a case where federal prosecutors right now are butting up against this idea that a president has nothing to fear from the criminal law.”

Maddow noted the benefits to prosecutors of using a sealed indictment.

MSNBC had highest non-election ratings ever on day of Cohen hearing

MSNBC had its highest ratings outside of a presidential election on Wednesday, the day Michael Cohen testified on Capitol Hill.

The network also had the most-watched cable show, “The Rachel Maddow Show,” across all cable networks in the 25 to 54 age group on Wednesday, according to NBC Universal.

Cohen on Wednesday testified before the House Oversight and Reform Committee about his 10 years as President Trump's personal lawyer. The hearing lasted about seven hours.

While Cohen testified during the day, MSNBC had about 2.652 million, beating Fox News Channel's 2.252 million and CNN's 2.011 million.

In the 25-54 age group that advertisers often look for, CNN was the leader with 554,000 viewers, followed by MSNBC with 421,000 and Fox News with 369,000.

Maddow's prime-time show had 3.839 million total viewers and 818,000 viewers aged 25-54. Fox's Sean Hannity had 3.705 million viewers including 698,000 aged 25-54. CNN's was third, with 1.835 million viewers including 530,000 aged 25-54.

Overall, Fox had the highest ratings for prime time on Wednesday night, averaging 3.4 million viewers and 629,000 in the key 25-54 group between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., as the cable news networks focused on analysis of the Cohen hearings and President Trump's summit in North Korea.

Cohen in November pleaded guilty to lying to Congress. As part of a plea deal, he agreed to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the possibility of Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Cohen said during the hearing that he did not have direct evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, but made several claims that, if true, could implicate Trump in felonies.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Cohen hearing had at least 13.51 million viewers across all networks.

Trump is using the presidency as an ‘instrument of moneymaking’ for himself: House Democrat

On Monday Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) slammed President Donald Trump while interviewing with Dean Obeidallah on SiriusXM Progress.

The House Judiciary Committee launched a wide-spreading probe into Trump that will investigate his multiple businesses.

The House sent letters to 81 individuals and entities demanding important documents pertaining to the probe.

Obeidallah asked if Fox News host Sean Hannity should be a part of the investigation and Raskin said they have “bigger fish to fry.”

He said that Trump’s corruption is unprecedented and that Trump is using the presidency for personal business matters.

“We’ve got a President of the United States who’s tried to turn the government into an instrument of moneymaking for himself, his business, his family, and his friends,” Raskin said.

I am so glad you brought that up because that's what I am really pushing for; a sales tax on stock trades. Wall Street is where all our money went and we need to tax the stock market to get some of our money back. And I don't see how the "conservatives" can oppose that. In lots of red states the Republicans love sales taxes as opposed to income taxes.

Maddow Scores Huge: No. 1 Rated Show On All of Cable, Beats Broadcast Networks CBS and Fox

Rachel Maddow had a monster ratings night Wednesday — dominating time-slot rival Sean Hannity and even finishing ahead of two of the major broadcast networks.

According to Nielsen, The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC drew 3.601 million total viewers on Wednesday night, topping Hannity on Fox News by roughly 857,000 overall. Maddow also prevailed in the advertiser-coveted adults 25-54 demographic, posting 649,000 in that category compared to Hannity’s 403,000.

More impressive even than The Rachel Maddow Show‘s performance relative to its cable news rival was the fact that the program beat out offerings from CBS and Fox at 9 p.m. The World’s Best on CBS was watched by 2.904 million overall, while Gordon Ramsey‘s 24 Hours to Hell & Back posted a total audience of 2.717 million on Fox.

Additionally, The Rachel Maddow Show was No. 1 in all of cable on Wednesday night.
