Trump Tells Demonstrable Lies in Front of Entire World During International Press Conference

President Donald Trump remained true to form by telling multiple demonstrable falsehoods on the international stage, claiming, among other things, that he has “record” approval among Republicans.

On Tuesday, Trump held a joint press conference in London with outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May, and managed to cram several whoppers into the 13-minute question and answer period.

For example, he was asked about the possibility that congressional Republicans might block his most recent threatened tariffs against Mexico.

“I don’t think they will do that, I think if they do it’s foolish,” Trump said, and went on to add “I’ve had tremendous Republican support, I have a 90 percent, 94% approval rating as of this morning in the Republican Party.”

“That’s an all-time record, can you believe that? Isn’t that something?” he asked May. “I love records. But we have a 94% approval rating in the Republican Party.”

But as the Toronto Star’s Daniel Dale noted in real time, Trump’s actual approval rating among Republicans is actually not “94 percent,” and never has been, while former President George W. Bush repeatedly reached 99 percent among Republicans following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Trump was also asked for his impressions on Brexit, and could no resist making a familiar boast.

“Well I don’t like to positions in things that I’m not really, I understand the issue very well,” Trump said. “I really predicted what was going to happen. Some of you remember that prediction, it was a strong addiction made at a certain location on a development we were opening the day before it happened. and I thought it was going to happen because of immigration more than anything else.”

But Trump, who has told this lie repeatedly, actually visited his Turnberry, Scotland golf course the day after the Brexit results, and held a press conference praising the results.

‘Whiny little baby’ Trump mocked for blaming his poor approval ratings on ‘corrupt media’

President Donald Trump made excuses for his consistently poor approval ratings, as he readied to depart from a state visit to the United Kingdom.

Trump still has never cracked 50 percent approval rating, and he currently sits underwater in every major poll — with an average of 43.7 percent approval and 53 percent disapproval, according to Real Clear Politics.

The president, however, insists it’s not his fault.

“If the totally Corrupt Media was less corrupt,” he griped, “I would be up by 15 points in the polls based on our tremendous success with the economy, maybe Best Ever! If the Corrupt Media was actually fair, I would be up by 25 points. Nevertheless, despite the Fake News, we’re doing great!"

Mexico joins the New York Times in debunking Trump’s claims about what he got for calling off his trade war

President Donald Trump’s claims about why he ended his trade war with Mexico collapsed under scrutiny during the first 24-hours after he claimed victory.

On Saturday, The New York Times published a bombshell report that Mexico’s supposed concessions had actually been agreed to before Trump launched his trade war. That fact essentially made Trump’s claims of victory — or even the need to launch the trade war in the first place — were all based on lies.

However, Trump didn’t just claim victory on the trade war, he said he’d additionally won a side deal.

Trump blasted for trying to ‘cover up his abject failure’ with a brazen lie about his trade war with Mexico

Mexican officials said that never occurred, Bloomberg News reported.

“President Donald Trump boasted of “large” agricultural sales to Mexico as part of a deal reached Friday on border security and illegal immigration that averted the threat of U.S. tariffs, but the deal as released had none, and three Mexican officials say they’re not aware of any side accord,” Bloomberg reported. “Increasing Mexico’s purchases from the U.S. wasn’t discussed during the three days of talks in Washington that led up to Friday’s agreement, said the three people with knowledge of the deliberations who weren’t authorized to speak publicly.”

There might not even be a mechanism for such discussions to ever occur.

“Mexico has no state-owned agricultural conglomerate to buy food products or handle distribution, or a government program that could buy farm equipment for delivery to producers,” Bloomberg noted.

President Donald Trump is notorious for his well-documented pattern of constantly lying, a habit was caught attempting to pass on to his aides.

In a story on his 2020 re-election campaign, The New York Times reported how the president reacted to devasting internal polls.

“After being briefed on a devastating 17-state poll conducted by his campaign pollster, Tony Fabrizio, Mr. Trump told aides to deny that his internal polling showed him trailing Mr. Biden in many of the states he needs to win, even though he is also trailing in public polls from key states like Texas, Michigan and Pennsylvania,” the newspaper reported.

*“And when top-line details of the polling leaked, including numbers showing the president lagging in a cluster of critical Rust Belt states, Mr. Trump instructed aides to say publicly that other data showed him doing well,” The Times noted.

Poll numbers have been a fixation for Trump, the first president to never average above 50 percent approval.

“In a recent overarching state-of-the-race briefing in Florida with Brad Parscale, his campaign manager, Mr. Trump was consistently distracted and wanted to discuss other things, according to people familiar with the meeting. When it came to the campaign, his main focus was on his own approval numbers,” The Times reported.

What they need to worry about is all the people around Trump who apparently love to stab him in the back, the level of access they have, and the things they are willing to leak. And maybe worry most of all why Trump can't stop them. Trump on disputed claim of Russian withdrawal from Venezuela: 'Ultimately I'm always right'

President Trump on Wednesday stood by his claim that Russia had withdrawn its forces from Venezuela despite the Kremlin's denials, asserting that he would be proven right in the end.

Trump was asked during an Oval Office meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda what he knows about Russia's involvement in Venezuela given the conflicting statements.

"Well, let's just see who's right. You know what you're going to do? You're going to see in the end who's right," Trump said.

"You just watch it, OK?" he added. "And we'll see who's right. Ultimately, I'm always right."

Trump tweeted earlier this month that Russia had informed the U.S. that it had removed "most of their people from Venezuela." He offered no further information, and officials did not elaborate on Trump's announcement.

The next day, a Kremlin spokesman told reporters that most of Russia's military specialists were still working in Venezuela.

The issue has been a point of contention among some of Trump's top advisers. The administration has backed opposition leader Juan Guaidó, while Russia has offered support for embattled President Nicolás Maduro.

National security adviser John Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have repeatedly blamed Russia and Cuba for propping up Maduro's government.

Trump on Wednesday described the situation in Venezuela as "in flux," and blamed the country's leaders for its descent into a worsening economic and humanitarian crisis.

"It's a very sad thing," he said. "We're watching Venezuela very closely."

Alarmed ethics experts are weighing in following a bombshell report in The Guardian Monday that $90 million in secret foreign investments have poured into an offshore account for a real estate company founded and still partly owned by White House senior adviser Jared Kushner.

At least $1 million is from Saudi Arabia, sources have told The Guardian.

The money for the company, Cadre, has been deposited since 2017 via a Goldman Sachs financial vehicle in the Cayman Islands, a tax haven that guards corporate secrets, The Guardian reports.

In response to the revelations, Richard Painter, chief ethics lawyer for George W. Bush, called Kushner a “national security risk,” saying that he should never have been granted security clearance. Donald Trump overruled U.S. intelligence and White House officials’ recommendations against granting Kushner top security clearance because of concerns about his foreign business entanglements.

Former Trump and Obama administration ethics chief Walter Shaub responded on Twitter to the report by calling again for the release of Kushner’s mysterious federal ethics agreement — if it in fact exists.

Constitutional law expert and Harvard professor Laurence Tribe told Salon that Kushner’s apparent conflicts of interest have “grown more distressing with time.”

Tribe called Kushner a “scion of a family, whose wealth is intertwined with Jared’s many roles in the Trump administration, roles that have put him virtually in bed with, among other bloody despots, [the] Saudi crown prince.”

Kushner reduced his stake in Cadre to less than 25% after joining his father-in-law’s administration, but he is still an owner and his share of Cadre is worth up to $50 million, according to his financial disclosure statements. His initial statements failed to mention Cadre, but were later amended to reveal his holdings.

The foreign millions poured into the account even as Kushner continued to negotiate issues with various senior officials from some of the same nations that could have been the source of investments to Cadre.

The Guardian report exposes exactly the kind of relationship and conflict-of-interest risk that ethics experts have warned against after Trump administration officials refused to divest from companies. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed an ethics complaint about Kushner’s stake in Cadre two years ago after he failed to disclose his holdings. CREW argued then that Cadre’s “opaque structure” was a tool to hide financial relationships.

Cadre was founded in 2014 by Kushner, his brother Joshua and a friend who previously worked for Goldman Sachs. The company operates from a Manhattan building owned by the Kushner family real estate corporation, according to The Guardian. Part of the operation is a real estate investment fund — worth more than half a billion dollars — used to buy U.S. properties. The value of the fund has increased fivefold since 2017 when Kushner joined the Trump administration, according to the newspaper.

One of Kushner’s more unnerving positive relationships during his time as a White House envoy is with wealthy Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who American intelligence officers determined ordered the vicious murder last year of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Despite the murder and other extensive human rights violations in Saudi Arabia, the Trump administration has decided to share nuclear power technology with the Saudis and plans to sell billions of dollars in weapons to the country. The chummy link between the two administrations has raised suspicions about financial ties.

A Goldman Sachs spokesman told The Guardian that Cadre has no access to information about the Goldman Sachs clients “who have invested in these vehicles,” indicating that Kushner would not know who was funding his company. Presumably, however, a Cadre owner could encourage people to invest.

I am not all that big a fan of Morning Joe but this is something I have been saying myself. Trump is surrounded by people who just love to undercut him and stab him in the back deep and hard. And it has to be several not just one. And some of them have the highest level of access. Probably at times in the same room with Trump. And I think there is even a new more damaging pattern. Someone leaks something. Trump and the White House furiously deny it. And then before the day is done the press has documents and/or other proof in their hands.

So when I post things like this Trump supporters scream raw sewage. Never whether it true or not. And them and many others were also saying where is the proof. And someone hands over the actual polls and says will these do? And its not the polling data. It is Trump's lies about it. And he puts them in writing and on video tape. But now about every time he does someone close to him hands over the proof. And its not Nancy Pelosi doing that to him.

Internal polling data from President Trump’s re-election campaign shows former Vice President Joe Biden winning “by wide margins” in certain battleground states, ABC News reported Friday.

The data from March, which was obtained by the network, reportedly showed Biden winning Pennsylvania 55-39, Wisconsin 51-41, and leading the current president by seven points in Florida. While Trump still won Texas in the poll, he only led by two points.

The Trump campaign confirmed the data’s authenticity to ABC, but claimed the numbers were old and that new data has swung in Trump’s favor since March. “These leaked numbers are ancient, in campaign terms,” Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said, adding that the “Mueller report exonerating the President” and “Democrat candidates defining themselves with their far-left policy message” have given Trump a boost since the poll. Tony Fabrizio, a Republican pollster for Trump’s campaign, issued a statement calling the data “incomplete and misleading,” saying the numbers from March are a “worst-case scenario in the most unfavorable turnout model possible.” “This is more proof that political reporters don’t understand modern polling, and further illustrates how deceptive it can be to reveal only tiny portions of a massive poll.”
