And now, a year from the election, they are looking over their crowd of candidates to take on Trump. They've been polling that wide swath of Americans who put Trump in the oval office and they have finally acknowledged the dose of reality the polls have been giving them. Americans like and support Trump's message, and his agenda. They simply do not believe all the spew about Trump, and what they do believe they attribute to the fact that Trump is an unlikable, pompous gas bag. And they knew that when they voted for him.
And, to add to their problems, they have the uber radical leftists among them who are pushing despicables so far left that even progressive despicables are gasping at the cheekiness of these new socialists (who aren't socialists at all).
They are beginning to realize that it is not only a possibility, but a highly likely possibility, that Trump will be reelected.

But Shooter thinks the 2020 election will be far different than the 2016 election.
In 2020 we'll have a choice between;
A pompous gas bag. An unlikeable but highly effective executive who has and is doing just what he promised he would do. He's turbocharged the economy. And minorities and women are benefiting the most from his (yes, his) hot economy.
OR
A candidate who promises free education, free health care, open borders and a cockeyed monetary theory that removes any responsibility for a bigger, more expensive, less efficient government that promises everything and delivers little. A monetary theory that has destroyed every country that it's been applied to. Higher taxes (for the rich).

Now, the coastal, wine sipping, butt hurt, arrogant despicables who voted for Clinton will vote for whoever they can come up with. Well, not all of them. Some of them (especially women and minorities) are going to look to their improved economic situation, remember what the decade before Trump was like, and what the last 4 years have held, and vote accordingly.
The deplorables? The despicable propaganda cemented their vote a couple of years ago. And they've proven that they can hold their collective noses and vote against a corrupt old school candidate no matter how unlikable the alternative is.

So Shooter thinks the 2020 elections will not only put Trump back in the whitehouse for another 4 years, but we'll see Congress returned to the deplorables. Trump will have free reign to mold American policy with his agenda. He will show the lie of progressives, of big government, of social policy that enslaves people rather than frees them.

And that, Shooter thinks, will make 2024 an even more interesting election.

Trump is not going to get any more votes than he got last election.

The question is whether or not democrats will get the right ones.

I think the impeachment proceeding will begin anytime between 6 or 8 months from now. At the outside 10. They’ll want the egregious testimony on the news at the right time.

And I don’t think he’ll have control over either house.

White supremacist terror is rising, and Trump's policies kneecap our ability to fight back

Six months after a gunman shouting “all Jews must die” killed 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, another gunman in another synagogue killed one worshiper and wounded three — this time in Poway, California.

Violent extremism and homegrown terrorism have not abated since neo-Nazis and white supremacists marched two years ago in Charlottesville, Virginia; in fact, they are demonstrably on the rise. Yet the Trump administration has been chipping away at our nation’s ability to address these serious threats to national security.

The Department of Homeland Security, charged with reporting on such threats to local law enforcement, last year eliminated a unit of intelligence analysts tasked with tracking and combating domestic terrorism, according to a Daily Beast report citing anonymous current and former officials.

The administration’s "National Strategy for Counterterrorism," issued last October just before the Tree of Life shooting, addresses the imperative of countering domestic terrorism. Yet the administration is reducing rather than increasing the resources our security apparatus needs to do so.



Meanwhile, DHS, now in even more turmoil without a Senate-confirmed secretary, has been distracted over the past several years by bigoted and xenophobic policies such as the Muslim travel ban and separating families at the border — while virtually ignoring the crisis of extremist violence brewing in our own communities.

The federal government’s unwillingness to soberly evaluate this type of terrorism and work to defeat it in a consistent and holistic way is painful to watch, and it is costing lives.

When I worked at DHS and the National Security Council, I ran a number of programs to confront these growing dangers. My office had a budget of more than $21 million and 16 full-time employees. But in the past three years, the office has been gutted, the name changed twice in this administration, the budget reduced to $3 million, and the staffing reduced by at least half. During the same period, the horror of white supremacist-inspired violence has unfolded again and again in places such as Poway, Pittsburgh and Charlottesville as well as Christchurch, New Zealand.

Government can play a key role in preventing violent extremism. But we need resources and coordination to undermine extremism. During my time at DHS, I led an interagency task force that included members from I the FBI, DHS, the National Counterterrorism Center and others. We had difficult conversations about how threats were evolving and how we could maintain security in our communities.

From 2013 to 2016, as we were watching the threat from the Islamic State terrorist group metastasize, we held dozens of interagency meetings, increased and shared intelligence, restructured programming, reached out to social media companies and took scores of other steps. In stark contrast, today DHS is not only failing to increase resources to deal with new threats, it is also eliminating both staffing and millions of dollars in grants and programmatic support.

White supremacist terrorism costs lives
The numbers don’t lie. At the Anti-Defamation League, our experts have been tracking these trends for decades. In 2018, we found that of the 50 murders committed by extremists, 49 of those came at the hands of right-wing extremists, with white supremacists alone accounting for 39 of those murders.

And from 2009 to 2018, right-wing extremists have been responsible for 73% of the extremist murders in the United States; an additional 23% were at the hands of Islamist extremists. If ISIS had killed 49 Americans on our soil last year, you can bet Congress, the administration and the American public would all be up in arms to determine the best policies to address the threat. And rightfully so.

For both DHS and the FBI, resources to deal with the domestic terrorist threat are dwarfed by resources for other security concerns, such as the manufactured national security crisis at our southern border. As the former head of the interagency Countering Violent Extremism Task Force, I find our lack of preparedness on this evolving threat simply inconceivable.

The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2019, a welcome first step from Sen. Dick Durbin and Rep. Brad Schneider, would require DHS, the FBI and the Justice Department to address right-wing violent extremism and require training and reporting on countering domestic terrorists. Additionally, local governments and other groups should be encouraged to create programs to reduce the likelihood that individuals would be radicalized to violence.

The Trump administration's decision to cut funding for efforts to prevent all forms of domestic extremism, and its continued use of harsh and discriminatory policies, illustrate that we cannot rely on the federal government’s leadership. We need to focus on holistic approaches and partnerships to develop better approaches to preventing violent extremism.

Our leaders must lead, and they must act now to secure our communities. If they do not, white supremacist terrorism will assuredly claim more innocent American lives

Trump smirked at idea of shooting migrants at rally three months before El Paso massacre

Donald Trump laughed and joked after a supporter suggested shooting Mexican migrants at a rally in May 2019.

The clip of the interaction is once again spreading across social media, as the US reels from the El Paso massacre.

“When you have 15,000 people marching up, and you have hundreds and hundreds of [immigrants], and you have two or three border security people that are brave and great – and don’t forget we don’t let them and we can’t let them use weapons,” Mr Trump said, to an audience of thousands in Florida.

“We can’t. Other countries do, we can’t. I would never do that. But how do you stop these people?”

In response someone from the audience shouted: “Shoot them!”

Mr Trump then appeared to laugh before shaking his head and saying: “That’s only in the Panhandle you can get away with that statement.”

The crowd then erupted into laughter and cheers, and Mr Trump added: “Only in the Panhandle!”

The Florida Panhandle is a region in the north west of the state.

The interaction was remembered with anger online, in the aftermath of the El Paso massacre.

At least 20 people were killed when a white male opened fire at a Walmart in the Cielo Vista mall on Saturday.

Several people are injured and being treated in hospital. Police said that at least three Mexicans were among the dead.

The suspected gunman, Patrick Crusius, is an alleged white supremacist.

In the wake of the massacre politicians condemned Donald Trump’s racism and Congress’ failure to take action on gun control.

Pete Buttigieg, a presidential primary candidate, said the US was “under attack from white nationalist terrorism”.

He said that the attacker was “abetted by weak gun laws” and added: “If we are serious about national security, we must summon the courage to name and defeat this evil.”

Former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke, who represented the district where the attack took place, said the US president bore some responsibility for the attack which left 20 people dead.

“He is a racist, and he stokes racism in this country,” he added.

“It does not just offend our sensibilities; it fundamentally changes the character of this country and it leads to violence.”

 

Yeah I think this bears repeating. You know I forgot all about that.
