I primarily post to my own website. I post stories to here because I figure if it's reaching more people for free and it might give people joy, I may as well. It doesn't mean I have to care about the ratings and responses.

That said, if the DMV (down-motherfuckin'-voters) are targeting first-timer-writers, that's a bit low. These people don't have another platform to go to, and attacking the one place people can see their stories is disrespectful.

 

I don't think they are targeting first-time-writers. The Legion, is putting writers on notice of what they're capable of by giving writers a golden nugget to over inflate or destroy anothers work by using a hack. Unfortunately, this is what this site has turned into.

Get rid of the voting system

 

They are asking you to pay for a service that is unfair to every aspiring writer here, and anyone who is ok with that is just as bad as they are. After watching this discussion I will find somewhere else to post the things I write, and if I can't find a place to post than I won't post.

I still say moving away is giving the DMV exactly what they want. There's no motive they can have in inflating views and downvotes except for making them seem powerful and cool (hence why I don't even bother to use the name they want for themselves) and making people not want to post in the first place. If I were able to spend more time on writing, I would post more as an act of defiance.

 

K sorry I lashed out at some of you guys I thought my story was doing really good and then throatHER commented on it and I realized what the fuck was going on and it really pissed me off that it was happening. I've been an avid reader since 2015 though this account is newer than that and I wlays wanted to try my hand at writing but you know its not as easy as it seems but whatever. The rating system on this site is fucked and people don't realize that until they try writing something on here. As a reader it's really easy to just give negatives to shit you don't like and positives to shit you do but when you actually see how just one vote changes the path of a story its really fucked up. This rating system is fucked. Its like weaponized validation and people can and will maniuplate you with it. Thats what legions counting on. He says he goes onto all different wbesites like reddit and wattpad and uses his server farm to give people the ratings they want. I bet he does it with instagram too. He came here saw a bunch of vulnerable peaople and decided there might be some fucking profit in it. K i'm drunk and feeling friendly so I love you all but probably go fuck yourselves in the morning. Stuck in fucking Iowa right now. There are beautifl parts of America and this is not one of them. Cant wayt to get back home

I found a site that has a fair voting system and users that give positive and helpful feedback... And NO. it is not wrist. I pulled my stories and left that site long ago.

@DBuck how does it hurt you to post your stories here? I mean, if you resign yourself to the idea that they aren't going to do well, then why not just post them any way? It takes all of a minute to paste the text into the field, select categories, and submit. Even if your story does poorly (in your mind), you'll still get a few thousand views, and you'll inevitably pick up a few fans that you otherwise would not have. Just click "submit" and then forget. That is the best way to treat this site, and apparently this forum, since it's gone to absolute shit... yet again.

Anyway, if anyone is working on a piece and wants someone to help with editing, I'm available! All I ask is that you run your work through a spelling and grammar checker (preferably google docs) before you send it to me.

 

DBuck is a decent guy who writes very well and would like to hear if people appreciate his work, just like everyone else on here. Thing is it's now people bury your work just for the hell of it and it gets to be to much. ThroatHer writes very good too and just had some group called legion trash everyones work so he could promote his latest writing. Why waste your time posting here if it has become so cut-throat and no longer is about the writing. Let the trolls and cheats write their own stories.

 

I agree, you shouldn't post here if it's not about the writing. If ratings are what compel you, then writing has lost its purpose. This entire fucking forum has become about nothing but ratings. So what's the endgame then? You spend hours, days, weeks or even months writing a piece, and what does it get you? Let's look at the top rated story on this site right now, Facetime by the excellent author, @Mystic47. As of now he has 267 votes, 37932 views, and two comments. What are those two comments? Are they great praises for his work? No, it's two guys named TxEmt arguing about whether the author should've written gay smut or incestual gay smut. Is that what we're all spending the precious time we have on this earth to achieve? That's the fucking trophy?

I didn't have Legion do anything. They asked me if I wanted their service and I said no. They did for my first story I ever written, showing me what they can do and said my average story is now up. I'm said the story is not average as it was 91.8%

I know how well I write and just do it as a hobby. The ratings have got you all TOTALLY bent out of shape. Most of you guys have a following so who cares about the rest. Above a 90 is great work, in my opinion. 95% is rarified air only a handful should attain and most of our stories, no matter who you are, IS NOT 95% worthy.

Legion at it again. A bunch of stories been shooting up past few days with hundreds of votes in an hour. Top story was posted 3 hours ago and already has 50000 views and 220 votes.

 

I finally got off my ass and finished a story - just submitted it now. It should be live within a few days, whenever the moderators get around to it. It's called Only If You Want. I put a lot of time into this one, I hope people enjoy it when it comes out.
