Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders addresses supporters amid delay of Iowa caucuses results.

Democratic strategist James Carville expressed his concerns as the Democratic primary race is officially underway, saying he's "scared to death" of the direction his party is going.

Appearing on MSNBC, Carville began by pointing to the success Democrats had during the 2018 midterm elections and stressed that it "matters" who the candidates are and what the party chooses to talk about.

"I'm 75 years old, why am I here doing this? Because I'm scared to death, that's why," Carville exclaimed. "Let's get relevant here ... all the Sanders people are taking pictures wishing Jeremy Corbyn the best. ... I don't want to go down that path."


The former Clinton advisor slammed the press corps for going "AOC crazy" over its coverage of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and pointed to more moderate candidates like former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who he noted "got a lot of votes" in Iowa.

"We've got to decide what we want to be. Do we want to be an ideological cult? Or do we want to have a majoritarian instinct to be a majority party?" Carville continued. Carville, who previously endorsed Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., for president, insisted that Democratic donors "will not give a popsicle to the DNC" with the current state of the 2020 field

They cannot win races by catering to the extremist factions of the party.

To win a national race one has to appeal to mainstream America, not the extreme fringe groups.

Mainstream America does not want open borders, or free college, or a health plan that will drive us further in debt, or for that matter a government living outside it's means, or even an overbearing government.

Mainstream America no longer cares about sexual preference or expanding or eliminating abortion rights.

The political party(ies) who forget this are doomed to fail.

Iowa Democrat Party Chair calls for probe into caucus

The chair of the Iowa Democrat Party is calling for an independent investigation into what went wrong with the caucus this week. On Friday, Troy Price said while 100 percent of reporting has been achieved, delays and inconsistencies have hindered the final result.

Price added the review will take as long as needed.

“We will be undergoing an independent forensic review of the challenges that we saw on Monday night,” he said. “What went right, what went wrong, from start to finish, and what we can do better in the future.”

The Iowa Democrat Party will also give 2020 campaigns the chance to submit evidence of inconsistencies and file a request for a recanvass. Candidates will have until noon on Monday to submit discrepancy claims from the caucus results.

“This morning, we informed campaigns of two new steps over the coming days to ensure that the numbers we reported match the records from caucus night,” stated Price. “First, we are providing presidential campaigns the opportunity to submit evidence of data entry inaccuracies, and we will work to make necessary corrections.”

The chairman went on to say “the IDP will compare the reported numbers with the results from caucus night to ensure the integrity of their reporting.”

 

Wonder what will happen if Biden has another disaster in New Hampshire. Warren and Sanders are too extreme to win. Mr B was mayor of some dull city in Indiana and the tech guy doesn’t impress anyone. I assume Hilary would be in it by now. Maybe this will be Chelsea Clinton’s moment.

 

Most of Trump's lower income white supporters will stay with him, even if they do not benefit economically from his policies, indeed even if they are hurt by those policies. Lower income white Republicans view the economy as a force of nature that is somehow beyond politics. If they decline economically, even during a Republican administration, they accept it stoically, or they direct their anger horizontally and downward at non whites and homeless people. When I tell one of them that a white plutocracy is enriching itself at his expense with the assistance of the Republican Party he either does not understand what I am talking about, or he gets angry at me.

Most lower income white Trump supporters do not like immigrants. They remember Trump's promise to build a wall against Mexico, and make Mexico pay for it. There is no wall, and Mexico has not paid for it. Nevertheless, they think Trump's heart is in the right place. They like Trump because he hates those people too. Many of them hate Jews.

Christian conservatives believe even more preposterously that the potty mouthed womanizer in the White House will bring about a Christian revival.

Humphrey was Vice President under President Johnson.

Also, Clinton was not flagrant about it like Trump has been. Clinton never bragged about being able to grab women by their vulvas. He did not tell Howard Stern that he could use a vulgar term when talking about Chelsea.

I have never said that all non white, non Oriental people are inferior to all whites. Nevertheless, average differences do exist.

Joe Biden called a woman a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Sunday, raising questions as to what the former Vice President even meant with his use of the colorful phrase.

Biden was taking a question from the woman in regards to his poor performance in the Iowa caucus. Her apparently took offense to her questioning the viability of his campaign after a fourth place finish, making excuses related to the quaint structure of the Iowa tradition.

To make his point, he asked the woman if she’d ever been to a caucus, an unlikely event considering the town hall was held in New Hampshire where a caucus format isn’t used. The woman indicated that she had, to which Biden responded with the 19th-century style insult.




It’s likely the woman misunderstood that Biden was specifically referring to a caucus, conflating both caucus and primaries. Alternatively, she may have been a prior resident of a state such as Iowa or Kansas where a caucus format is used in primary elections.

It’s unclear how serious Biden was being with the colorful remark, and it’s possible he quickly pivoted away from his conversation with the woman when he realized his words could be construed in a personal manner.

This isn’t the first time that Biden has dismissed or outright insulted voters who interact with him at his campaign events. He’s told Democratic primary voters who question his record to “vote for someone else” in various forms numerous times.


Judging from his collapsing campaign and disastrous showing in the Iowa caucuses, it’s possible Democratic voters are taking his command that they vote for someone other than him more seriously than he had imagined they would

I’m Angry.

As we ramp up to moving towards Super Tuesday where former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg has staked his Presidential hopes, you are going to see more of these types of OOOOPS stories. Most of them probably won’t be as funny as this one.

Good ole Mike got himself into some trouble last week when a video from 2016 popped up where he was commenting about how the rubes in the midwest could not understand the trans thing. So, the theory goes according to Mike, that if you could find a salesperson that could do it than by golly that person could cure all the ills of the world.


Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg is drawing fierce criticism after a 3-year-old video surfaced in which he refers to transgender people as a “man in a dress” while addressing a crowd of “intelligentsia” at Oxford University in Britain.

“If you want to know if somebody is a good salesman, give them the job of going to the Midwest and picking a town and selling to that town the concept that some man wearing a dress should be in a locker room with their daughter,” Bloomberg said during a panel discussion at the Dec. 8, 2016 event. “If you can sell that, you can sell anything.”

Well, you have to give it to him, he is right on that. I would love to see the sales pitch of telling fathers of 16 yr old girls that 16 or 17 yr old boys that “think” they are girls should be in the same locker room and dressing or showering with them. That might be the most-watched YouTube video EVER.

Why in the world should rational people be asked to suspend common sense to make sure that some people’s feelings aren’t hurt? I do not care if anyone is gay, trans or anything else that is coming down the pike in the next 10 minutes that I am supposed to mandatorily care about. Yet demanding that BIOLOGICAL boys hang with BIOLOGICAL girls in a locker room or anywhere else that is used as a separation for the sexes is nonsense.
