The banner, paid for by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Republican opponent, DeAnna Lorraine, directs those who see it to a petition, located at PelosiForPrison.co, which calls for Pelosi to be jailed for her “crimes against America.” With the banner coming just a day after President Donald Trump’s acquittal in the Pelosi-driven impeachment hearings, it is a sign that some conservatives are moving off of the defensive, and instead focusing on offensive attacks against left-wing figures like Pelosi.

Speaking with Big League Politics, Lorraine states that the banner was a part of her plan to expose Pelosi’s record while in the Congress, along with her “egregious crimes against America.”

“I am running for Congress to clean out the corruption that is Nancy Pelosi. Instead of caring for the people of
San Francisco and advancing their issues on a national scale, she spends her time conducting asinine
impeachments and investigations that amount to absolutely nothing” said DeAnna. “It’s past time we start

No I am not kidding one bit and this is not an exaggeration. I literally do laugh at Trump and his snowflake supporters always playing the eternal victims and yowling like massed cats over every little slight they can imagine. I guess I can't say they are the biggest crybabies in American history even though I suspect they are. I just know they are the biggest crybabies I have seen when it comes to anything critical of Trump.

"It's illegal what she did, she broke the law," the president said Friday. A legal scholar explains why he's wrong.

President Donald Trump claimed Friday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "broke the law" when she tore up her copy of his State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

"I thought it was a terrible thing when she ripped up the speech. First of all, it’s an official document, you’re not allowed, it’s illegal what she did, she broke the law," Trump told reporters on the White House South Lawn. "That was terrible. It was a terrible — so disrespectful to our country, and actually very illegal, what she did."

The president appears to be echoing Charlie Kirk, founder and president of the conservative student organization Turning Point USA, who argued in a tweet that Pelosi had violated the law prohibiting the mutilation of government records.

But legal experts say Pelosi, D-Calif., was legally in the clear.

“The simple answer is no, it doesn’t violate the law," said Gregory Magarian, professor of law at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. "The law that Kirk cited ... it applies to government documents, official government documents that have been filed with some government office like the National Archives."

"This is just a copy of a presidential speech that Trump handed to Pelosi," Magarian added.

And even if that law — or any other — did apply, he continued, *the Constitution’s speech or debate clause would protect Pelosi's actions because she was acting in her role as speaker of the House.

The clause is an “ironclad protection to make sure that the executive branch can’t go after members of Congress for what they do in the course of their legislative duties,” he said.

As is custom, Trump had given Pelosi a copy of his remarks before he began his State of the Union address, delivered from the lectern at the front of the House chamber Tuesday evening. But as soon as he was finished and while Republicans were cheering his remarks, she stood up behind the president and ripped the speech papers in half.

"I feel very liberated. I feel very liberated. I have extended every possible courtesy," she said during her weekly news conference. "I've shown every level of respect."

Pelosi said that she had extended a "hand of friendship" to the president as he stepped up to the House chamber's dais Tuesday to welcome him — but he did not take her hand.

Pelosi said the president's decision to not shake her hand had nothing to do with her later ripping up his speech. She said she is a speed-reader, and once she got through the first quarter or third of the address, "I started to think there has to be something that clearly indicates to the American people that this is not the truth."

"He has shredded the truth in his speech, he shredded the Constitution in his conduct, I shredded his state of his mind address," she said.

Laurence Tribe, a professor of law at Harvard Law School and a constitutional scholar, also weighed in to the publication Law and Crime.

“What a dumb idea! Not even Bill Barr would fall for that ludicrous misapplication of the federal law criminalizing mutilation of government records," he said.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has urged every agency inspector general to investigate retaliation against whistleblowers who report misconduct from President Donald Trump. Schumer has written to each inspector general following the firing of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman from the National Security Council. Vindman, one of the a star witnesses in the House impeachment inquiry into Trump, was removed from his position at the White House on Friday. In a letter to Acting Inspector General Glenn Fine at the Defense Department, Schumer said the firings were “part of a dangerous, growing pattern of retaliation against those who report wrongdoing only to find themselves targeted by the president and subject to his wrath and vindictiveness.” Trump defended his controversial firing of Vindman over the weekend, saying he was “very insubordinate, reported contents of my ‘perfect’ calls incorrectly, &… was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to.”

Democrats are trying to decide whether they should investigate Trump’s ongoing crimes after impeachmenti

In the wake of President Donald Trump’s impeachment acquittal, Democrats are trying to decide whether they should continue to investigate him for the ongoing things he and his White House do that are against the law or ethics.

The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that Democrats are looking at the way that Trump is dictating that the Justice Department do what he tells them. The Justice Department is supposed to run independently of the president.

“At the same time, party leaders are eager to focus on pocketbook issues for voters, such as health care, and Democrats are wary of launching another drawn-out fight with the White House that could backfire in November,” wrote The Journal.

During her weekly press conference Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that she thinks the House should be investigating any role that the president played in reducing the sentence for his friend Roger Stone, who was convicted of seven felonies.

Pelosi also said, however, that Democrats do not intend to “spend all of our time going after every lie that the administration henchmen make.”

“There’s still internally a lot of different opinions about whether we should pursue subpoenas against Bolton and other people,” said Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY), who chairs the Budget Committee. “We’re still dealing with it, trying to figure out where people want to go,” he added.

Alexander Vindman condemned himself in his impeachment testimony

Vindman was unreliable and had questionable judgment, according to his own outgoing superior, Tim Morrison, the National Security Council’s senior director for European affairs.

In fact, Morrison viewed Vindman as so untrustworthy that he opted to exclude him from his conversations with William Taylor, the senior US diplomat in Ukraine.

Vindman had an “unfortunate habit,” Morrison thought, of defying the sprawling executive branch’s carefully delineated chain of command. Vindman’s testimony vindicates Morrison’s dripping disdain for his former subordinate.

The officer, who testified that he has never spoken directly with the president, nonetheless admitted to advising Zelensky as to how to comport himself in his communication with Trump. Vindman testified that he did not have time to express his concerns directly to Morrison, but he apparently found the time to express his concerns to both Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent and an unnamed individual in the intelligence community.

Who’s looking smart this President’s Day now that Senate Republicans held a show trial with no witnesses before acquitting Donald Trump on two impeachment charges?

Nancy Pelosi.

The Speaker held off those in her party who wanted to impeach Trump right after her party took control of the House of Representatives, annoying many of her fellow Democrats and a few Capitol Hill Republicans who privately asked Democrats to rid them of this turbulent president.

Pelosi waited until she got an issue that should have alarmed the Republicans, a threat to our national security. Not only did witnesses and documents show that Trump helped Moscow’s push to occupy all of Ukraine, but she also showed the world that in 2020 the president and top Congressional Republicans were spreading Kremlin propaganda about our 2016 election.

With each passing day, Pelosi’s savvy political strategy grows clearer, even as she gets much too little credit.

All the Democrats must do now is market that. The Republicans are masters of marketing, using slogans and deceptions to persuade people that awful policies are actually good policies. The Democrats tend to get lost in process, basically asking people to read the fine print of their proposals instead of appealing to their emotions. But that’s a slam on Democrats as a party, not their leader.

The Speaker created a win-win in with the impeachment of Trump. With each passing day, her savvy political strategy grows clearer, even as she gets much too little credit.

Making Things Happen
Pelosi didn’t come to Washington to win the news of the day, send flurries of tweets or bask in praise. She came to get long-term results. She has a steely focus on what can be done and then making it happen.

Even while knowing that Senate Republicans would acquit Trump, Pelosi set a trap for Trump and his obsequious Republican supporters on Capitol Hill. Lacking Pelosi’s inner confidence and skill at three-dimensional political chess, Trump and Congressional Republicans fell into Pelosi’s clever trap.

The trap: By supporting Trump no matter what, Republicans are stuck to him with political superglue. As Trump behaves ever more like a dictator, even referring to himself as “The King” in a tweet, elected Republicans cannot break free of him without tearing themselves apart.

The Democrats would have scored a huge victory had Trump been removed. That would have put Mike Pence in the White House. While Trump poses as a bigger than life character, Pence is a mere figment, a minor politician with no great political appeal, following, or track record.

Trump Overplays His Hand
But even without convicting Trump, Pelosi’s strategy wins because now he mistakenly believes he is free at last from political constraints.

Now Trump fully embraces his instinctive—and utterly mistaken—belief that our Constitution gives him authority to “do whatever I want.”

Actually our Constitution gives the executive the duty to do what Congress tells him to do and to “faithfully execute” those powers and duties.

As Steve Bannon said of Trump last week: “Now he understands how to use the full powers of the presidency.”

Bannon was speaking about how, among other things, Trump now openly uses our Justice Department as his personal bullying squad to harass perceived enemies, like the 19 million people of New York State, who will be denied easy re-entry into the country after they go overseas.

Trump was unfazed when a federal grand jury would not go along with indicting Andrew McCabe, the former FBI deputy director who Trump attacks because he did his job.

Barr at His Side
That means you should expect more ginned-up cases against those Trump perceives to be his enemies. Whomever the Democrats nominate in Milwaukee, their running mate and their families will all be targets so long as Bill Barr remains attorney general.

Trump also uses Justice to shield friends like the felons Roger Stone and Mike Flynn.

More than 1,100 former federal prosecutors have called on Barr to resign. The chances that Barr will step back are on a par with the Sun rising in the West tomorrow morning.

Because of Pelosi’s strategy, the first few Republican senators have openly expressed unease that Trump thinks the Justice Department is his personal law firm and that Attorney General Barr is his consigliere, his Roy Cohn. The comments by Republican senators are not much, but they’re not nothing, either.

More House Investigations
Count on continuing House investigations designed not just to expose wrongdoing, but also to open the first real cracks in the wall of Republican submission to Trumpism. And don’t be surprised if some whistleblower or leaked document shows Barr or his loyalists breaking the law—the way Richard Nixon’s pals John Mitchell and Richard Kleindienst did and became the first U.S. attorneys general forced to take up residence in federal prisons.

Pelosi’s strategy has also made Trump so toxic that qualified people with government experience shun this administration. He had a hard time from the start but now anyone with a thought to their future career wants to avoid the stain of Trump on their resumes.

Obsequious Trump minions Hope Hicks and John McEntee are now back at the White House, a clear sign that Trump can only attract the worst people to the White House.

McEntee was forced out in 2018 because he couldn’t get a security clearance over concerns about his gambling habits. His financial disclosure statement never won approval. So McEntee may again be forced out.

And we’ve seen former aides turn on Trump. There was Rex Tillerson, the Exxon Mobil CEO who Trump chose as his first secretary of state. But it was not until after the impeachment proceedings that Trump’s former chief of staff, retired Marine General John Kelly, turned on Trump.

What we are seeing in real life is Shelley’s imaginative 1820 tragedy “Prometheus Unbound,” with Trump in the role of the vengeful Jupiter, who loses all his godly powers as his exalted friends turn on him.

Tied Republicans to Trump
Republican leaders are highly unlikely to turn on Trump. But Pelosi has insured that they will pay a price for defending what will be ever worse conduct by Trump in the months ahead. They are tied to Trump and cannot easily get a political divorce, thanks to Pelosi’s strategy, without openly saying they made a terrible mistake in failing to convict and remove Trump from office.

Fellow Democrats who complain that Pelosi slow-walked impeachment and then agreed to proceed on just two articles instead of a kitchen sink of charges have missed her long-term strategy, which continues to play out to the Democrats’ advantage.

By forcing impeachment over national security, Pelosi maneuvered leading Republican senators into a choice between breaking with Trump or spreading Kremlin propaganda to help Trump. Pelosi’s strategy put the lie to 75 years of Republican claims to be worried about the Kremlin.

By showing that concern about Moscow was a fraud, Pelosi also showed that putting protection of Trump ahead of love of our country is the policy of GOP leaders.

The only question remaining: Are the Democrats savvy enough to get that plain and simple message across to voters and to give the Democrats control of the White House, the Senate and the House in 2020.

Don’t count on the rest of the party to be as smart as Pelosi, but hope they absorb her wisdom.

Nancy Pelosi blisters Trump’s latest ‘anemic’ response to Coronavirus: ‘What he’s doing is too late’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) lashed out at President Donald Trump on Wednesday over his response to the Coronavirus.

While speaking to reporters at the U.S. Capitol, Pelosi slammed the president after he promised the epidemic “is going to go away.”

“This is shameful,” Pelosi said. “He puts forth a proposal now that is meager, anemic in terms of addressing this. Ebola, we did $5 billion. And now they’re trying to take the ebola money and spend it here.”

“What he’s doing is late, too late, anemic,” she added. “Hopefully we came make up for the loss of time but we have to have professionals in place, resources that are adequate and not use scare tactics about people coming back to our country.”

Pelosi remarks come as some health professional are questioning the Trump administration’s competency.

$5 billion to fight Ebola, that was eradicated...

Apparently the fight against Ebola didn't use all the tax payers money to win that fight.

So why not use the balance of the Ebola budget to fight a well contained virus in the U.S.?...is it wrong to do it that way...because it makes too much sense?

That inconvenient fact hasn't stopped the despicables from DEMANDING that we spend $5 Billion to contain what amounts to this years version of the flu.
