What strikes me as stupid is, even after the FBI found the noose had been there since at least last October, long before any one could have known Bubba's team would be using that space, Bubba insists on making a big deal of it and playing it up. I've tied nooses all my life - they're great for places where you might want a slip knot, but not one that slips too easily. I've used them for hand pulls for overhead lights or fans, used them for fishing gear, any number of places. There's no nefarious intent, it just a handy knot to know. And I'd wager many more white men have hung by one than black.

Bubba needs to get over his bad self. It ain't all about him, or even being black.

 

I'm just starting to try and piece this together, but I've been following an interesting chain of thought - waiting to see if any proof appears.

Bubba said that Nascar officials informed him of the noose (Bubba hadn't seen it). Later, it was said that members of Bubba's team called Nascar about the noose, who in turn contacted Bubba.
Okay, I'm already saying 'WTF?' Why didn't Bubba's team tell him directly?

Since the garage pull-down rope with a loop was not only there since last October, and it's been reported that other garages around Bubba's had a similar 'device' (and why wouldn't they? Grabbing a loop is much easier than wrapping your fist around the end of a rope and pulling down). How could the 'Mavens of Nascar' be soooooo fucking unfamiliar with this concept?

It WAS, after all, connected to the garage door!

I'm wondering if perhaps even Bubba is a pawn in Nascar's attempt to defray any BLM anger against themselves by hyping this incident, a very short time after they forbade the showing of the Confederate Flag at any Nascar event, to ward off recriminations from the hysterical and moronic violent mobs that are sweeping across the US now?

I'm waiting to see what develops, but it's an interesting theory (Sorry, but I can't remember the name of the woman, a Southerner who brought this up on 'The Five' today).

Note that Nascar fans and its venerated heroes have embraced Bubba on this. Not exactly a Southern lynching, now is it?

 

First of all no one can blame Bubba Wallace for any of this. He didn't even see it. It was NASCAR that went to him and said they had found a noose and were investigating it as a hate crime.

And second bullshit on it not being a noose.

This is still just a rumor, but they've been combing through old CCTV footage from last October, and they think they've identified Jussie Smollett sneaking into the garage. But - maybe he was trying to steal the noose, because the one he tied around his own neck was pathetic.

The owner of a North Carolina race track is under fire for advertising a “Bubba Rope” promotion on Facebook Marketplace.

The post came after the FBI announced on Tuesday that a garage door-pull rope tied into a noose-style knot found in NASCAR start Bubba Wallace’s garage at Talladega Superspeedway was not a hate crime directed at the African- American driver.


The post from Pine Hill, N.C., 311 Speedway owner Mike Fulp said, “Buy your Bubba Rope today for only $9.99 each, they come with a lifetime warranty and work great,” but was deleted after receiving several critical comments from self-described loyal spectators.



Fulp did not include an image with the post. A company called Bubba Rope sells tow and recovery ropes for off-road trucks that range in price from around $60 to $1000, but it is not known if that is what he was referring to.

"This incident of racism is horrific and shameful,'' a spokesperson for Governor Roy Cooper told the Winston-Salem Journal.

"North Carolina is better than this.''

The local NAACP chapter president Jeff Crisp told the newspaper that he has discussed pursuing criminal charges against Fulp with the state director of the NAACP

Today’s running of the Daytona 500 ended in the 15th lap, first a huge wreck which involved 16 cars, then rain. It’s still in red flag condition and they probably won’t get it done today.

Once again, Kyle Busch got too impatient and pushed Bell, in the car ahead of him, into the rear of Almirola’s car, starting the chain accident. Of course Busch drove around the mayhem into the clear. This happened way too many times for drivers and NASCAR to keep ignoring him.

 

So they go again tomorrow.

 

I been watching more indy and F1 more then nascar going to try and watch some more nascar this year

 

Congratulations to Kyle Larson, 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion! A Hendricks Motor Sports Chevy does it again!

Larson had a hell of a year, 10 wins, 20 top fives and 26 top tens.

 

Sad news for many NASCAR fans, the Petty Era has ended. For the first time since 1949, there will be no member of the Lee Petty family, active in the sport.
