I read lots of stories, many by authors who are new or not as well read. I've read some stories that are listed as true stories and often wonder is the whole story true; is just the general idea true; or is something specific (such as a specific sex act) true?

Some stories that I have read begin in the summary as entirely true but the name and locations have been changed. Yet, some stores seem just so far fetched, I often find it hard to believe that the story is true maybe only the specific sex act is true.

I would love some feedback......

 

I have never and would never try to write a true story. I've learned that somethings should remain personal. I will comment if I've had experience in something or can relate to a thread but never a full blown story. My memories are mine to keep... Alone.

 

If we post a story and say that it's true or based on true events, we add some fluff. Mostly to fill in the blanks or make it a little more interesting but we don't go overboard with it.
We are more likely to delete some aspects such as stopping to put on a condom. Condoms are no fun in real life, no one wants to read about them.
I wrote one about Nina being the entertainment for a group of men and made up most of the first chapter. Now that I go back and read it, it's obviously BS and throws doubt onto the rest of the story.
The truth wouldn't have been as graphic but it would have been the real deal.
A lot of people leave out too many details and by the second paragraph some girl is blowing 5 random strangers with little or no explanation for it other than one guy had his dick out and she couldn't control herself.

 

I prefer a true story that's kind of boring to one that goes way off the tracks. I hate when they get off to a great start and the second half seems like a different story

 

I think a lot of erotica writers write to brag. There's a weird pride to knowing one can write sex well in particular, and some use sex story writing to sharpen their ability to sext and seduce with words. Inversely, some write erotica to show to the world just how good they think they are at sexting or seducing other people, in a very high school-ish "I have sex so much and I'm so good at it" kind of way.

There are certain 'true' stories on this website where we can tell the author not only is making the whole thing up, but is most likely a virgin looking for validation. The author gets bonus points for writing a 'true story' involving incest where they bang the female component of their whole family within a month, or it's written in all caps or something. The really early days of this site in particular had a much lower standard of quality, and back in the early days it was assumed that your stories would be more impressive if they actually happened.

Reasons like this are why when people say 'the best days of this website are in the past,' I heartily disagree. I'd say at least 90% of the authors that write 'true stories' at honest now, and some contain bits of reality like the condom thing Speakeasy mentioned. Frankly, I like those moments. It makes the sex feel more real, more imperfect, and more human.

I've thought about writing a sex story that was based on real events, but I have to agree with TCS here. Not only are my private memories also private to someone else, I feel like they'd make for a worse story. I'd rather have creative freedom over my stories than be forced into writing an event, constrained by the truth and expectations to write it.

I like the "true" stories told by a "woman" who forgets she's pretending to be a woman and in the middle of the story tells us how hard his dick is, or that she was sucking his dick Etc.

 

There is always some truth in the stories I write...some have more truth than others. Sex With Elderly is about 90% true....some of the time-lines are condensed in others.

And there's no such thing as my bag because I'm assuming you can't read it says sex stories above. There is rules around here, read them!

 

You clearly are someone who is doing everything you can to control things the way YOU see them. Up until now, I've only heard stories of the 'trolls' who make a perfectly good website turn to crap because of their short-sighted OPINIONS. I see that I have been lucky enough to find a troll.
Since you do not operate this website, feel free to take your opinions off of my discussion thread. If you don't like where I posted my question, don't reply.
Oh, and by the way, I'm NOT going to excuse you. I have read the rules, maybe you should take your own advice and read them as well.
One more thing, your statement: "There is rules around here, read them!"........rules is a plural and therefore the proper verb to use would be 'are'......if you're going to chastise someone, at least have the proper etiquette to write in proper form.

 

I've written many stories and I think every writer draws from experience to some degree but the real art, well that is to add the fiction but make the seams invisible. I agree, most sex stories are so far fetched that I lose interest. I like the reader to think, "Shit, I think that's real!"

 

You seem to think a good website is letting you do whatever you please and everyone should post whatever they want wherever they please and no one should say anything. You seem to think it's called being a troll when someone expects others to follow the rules the same as they do. Without rules there is no order and there is chaos.

A writer should write about what he or she knows about. This is true for erotica and for more conventional stories.

I like stories that are plausible and written with a certain amount of psychological depth and insight.

In my stories I never claim truth, In fact, the very opposite

 

I write fictional stories but there are parts within the stories that come close to experience. But I agree with TCS, most of what we experience in life should be kept private. Less chance of it coming back to bite us in the arse, especially in today's world.

 

I write what i fantasize about, wishing some of it were true.

 

I think I would be most likely to tell a true story and perhaps deny it was me.
