HI folks - I'm new here and pleased to find a "serious" forum where sex can be discussed "properly". I'm looking to talk to women (initially through email) regarding a documentary proposal i'm putting together with the working title of "Sex Lives on Videotape" which (over a planned 12 one hour episodes) will look at the way our sex lives have changed and developed in in this new century. This will be produced by a London based production company and is aimed at Channel 4 and BBC3.

The internet has had an enormous impact on the way we express our sexuality and with sites such as youporn and xnxx becoming so popular it is clear many couples (and singles) are happy to show the rest of us what they get up to behind closed doors. Over the next month myself and one other researcher will be collecting stories and accounts from men, women, singles and couples regarding their respective sex lives and sexual interests. If any female readers here would like to contribute then please contact me initially through this forum. All of this will of course be confidential and in fact that's the very reason we chose the internet to gather (hopefully) genuine submissions.

What about Men? I want to do this. One question first. Do you sit outside schools offering milk duds to little boys and girls? lol. I bet you are also underage and don't know the inner workings of documentary production companies that assume business agreements with BBC, etc. and Which Channel 4? May sound like a simple question, but Channel 4 isn't good enough to trick most of us. That makes no sense. And if you are making this documentary, I don't believe that these stations are going to accept webcam video movies. What the hell is onemandigest. Mr. Jonathan Shit for brains. Wow that was mean. JK. If you are making this documentary, advice. Go for HBO. They actually pitch productions like that.

No scam i assure you (for what that statement's worth of course). Men? We'll get to you soon enough! And as for credentials; 20 years in broadcast television supplying work for all UK terrestrial and many satellite channels should more than suffice. Channel 4 (UK) is what i should have stated and that there are no specific numbers or names is an attempt to protect both the nature and ownership of the proposal itself. If i simply wanted to get off to some womens fantasies then there's a fabulous collection here on this very site!

More than happy to qualify any and all elements of my previous post.

What else have you done? What projects have you worked on that people would know about? Who is this 'one other researcher' you mentioned in the first post? Do you have any links to work you've done?

I'm sorry if I'm prodding to much, but I just don't want anyone to become a victim, which I'm not saying they would, but it's better to be safe.

So...if the webmaster/mistress of this forum is in agreement i'll provide him/her with everything from my, location, contact details and current place of work (a household broadcast name) so that many fears and doubts might be calmed somewhat. Can i explain a little more now that in the first instance we are only looking for ANONYMOUS contact that we can draw upon for an accurate programme proposal/pitch.

I can already see that there ARE people here (both male AND female) who would be perfect for various elements of this project so i hope i can satisfy some of you at least that this IS a genuine approach.

Folks, if this were legitimate we should be seeing legal information by now. While I've never been involved in a documentary, I have been involved in college research. In those cases there was always a form to be signed giving permission to use what I had to say (yes, even if I was anonymous), a legal contact given to assure that the project was legitimate, and a description of specifically what the project was looking for. This information wasn't always available immediately, but in the one case where it wasn't available fairly quickly there were apologies and explanation as to why not. I can't believe there's that much difference between US research practices and British documentary practices.

This is a scam. Don't give this con artist any information until you receive some legal assurance his project is legitimate. If he does produce a legal contact, contact the police in the area of residence and make sure it's a legitimate business before giving him any information, particularly personal information.

 

One way to confirm would be to post a picture of your arse, with half a dozen BBC or Channel 4 biros stuffed up there !

You've been involved in research have you? Well you'll know then that any legal sign offs or contractual agreements relating to consent or payment/waiving of fees would take place pre-broadcast following discussion with the people involved. were you hoping for a pre proposal/pre production pre anything contract at this stage? That there is so much doubt is a pity and furthermore what is there to be gained by your scam accusation?

Really; i've been welcomed by fetish clubs and swingers groups with open arms (to say the very least!!) so perhaps it was understandible that my hopes were high in an anonymous forum.

Anyway - apologies all round to anyone offended or upset by this approach and to anyone still interested, please get in touch.

No they don't. I'll admit this may be a difference between American and British practices, but in America the sign-offs and permissions are done before any private taping, tests, literature exchange, or whatever.

 

I'd actually think this would be a similarity all around the world... I mean, after all, you don't buy a car before test driving it...

Usually, you should get a legal document first, that way you can have the ability to legally pursue them if they break the contract... Even with something like Girl's Gone Wild, they ask those who they film if it's alright before hand. (verbal contract)
