I can't stop thinking about being with a man. No one specific, but I guess one of my dreams. This has only started happening recently, could i be gay, i ve always thought i was straight.

To many questions here to instantly come up with an answer.....
You say you've never had same-sex inclinations before.....what.....never.....ever? That would be rare.

I consider myself 'straight' but I've certainly had feelings in that direction more than once in my life.

Try not to think of either/or.....it doesn't work that way.
Sexuality isn't a two-way switch, it's a sliding scale. Maybe you just went up a notch. Maybe you've always had these feelings but suppressed them..........but don't panic!

Be a bit more specific about what your thoughts are. If you're thinking about men, then explore that in your mind and see where it leads you. Maybe you're just thinking about anal stimulation, and that's cool, you don't need to be gay to enjoy that!

Who have you been "in love" with--girls, guys, or both? I consider someone to be "gay" when they can fall in love with someone of the same sex. Most men think about having sex with another man, even when they're "straight". A significant portion of them follow through on this fantasy and have sex with another man. Generally speaking, they don't "become gay" as a result. I suggest you rent the movie "Kinsey". Kinsey studied this behavior in the forties and fifties. I suggest you read the criticisms of his work, as well.

 

If similar experiences help you. I have always been "straight" but in teens some fooling around with guy friends. I also once had the DESIRE, but never acted on to make love to my best male friend.

Being gay, maybe

I guess how I see it is, if you LOVE a man, I think you're gay. If you would prefer to be with men and have that emotional attachment that women can't provide, I think you're gay.

I believe that sex is an physical act. Most people would say it's an act of love, but I don't think so. Sex feels so good, and I know men who do both b/c they are so into having sex, they'll bust their nut with anyone. To me, I don't think they're gay, just opening up their sexuality.

 

To borrow from Drew Carey, that's just an opportunity for me to get turned down by both sexes.

Well, if you ARE gay, there isn't much you can "do about it" other than embrace it. Stop worrying, and do what you like doing, whatever that may be.

 

Whether or not you're gay depends on the strength of your sexual preference. Frankly I feel that if you have any doubts, you're not. If you discover that you could maintain a physical relation with either a man or a woman you're bi-sexual.

That depends on why you want to do something about it. Many gay men have had extensive sexual relationships with women with various degrees of satisfaction. People have also had completely satisfactory lives that were completely celibate. People have also successfully concealed their sexual preference. You can also choose to be openly gay. Each "solution" offers its own set of problems, and the only one who can say what the best course for you, is you.

If what you want is a cure, though, you're out of luck. A person's sexuality seems to be set well before adolescence, and is most likely set in the womb.

It all depends on how much testosterone the developing foetus is exposed to in utero. So that's it.......fixed at birth!
